Staxx is a great locally owned restaurant. The brisket is particularly good here. The sides are typical of BBQ places. They are made on sight and very good. The sauces are homemade and offer a good variety. My favorite is the Carolina style sauce. Good heat and flavor. The sweet Memphis sauce is also good. They are served on the side so you can taste them all. The portions are outstanding. A dinner portion is enough for dinner and two lunches. The staff is friendly and fast. It is not unusual for the owner to work the lunch rush. The only down side is the small dining area. Better get there before 11:30. Word is out. It is vey crowded by 12.

Yuck, easily one of the worst chicken sandwiches I've ever had and I'm a big fan of BBQ. Meat was awful quality, roll stale .. barely ate half of it. The BBQ sauces tasted like ones you buy in big box retailers. Sweet potato fries were ok This place is so skippable, I wish I went somewhere else.

This is OK BBQ, not great. The pulled pork was tender and, with hot and spicy (not so much) Q-sauce, made for a decent sandwich. Staxx, like most places, opts for the boring white bun, a peeve of mine. (Take a lesson from Lyles and their fab bum.) The potato salad was good, as was the creamy slaw. Overall OK.

A family favorite. Anytime the owner comes out and asks how it tastes, it is top notch in my book. The food is hot and fresh when served. I like the niche menu they have and it works. The only thing I would change is more seats with more room. You feel kind of cramped in the current layout. Delicious food. Good job.

It's a local BBQ joint, structured in sort of the chain fashion but not a chain obviously. If you're looking for bbq quick and easy, it gets the job done. The service model is you order and then they bring it to you, if you're eating in the restaurant. Can't say anything specific about the sauces, but the brisket was good and the potato salad solid as well. The BBQ won't blow you away, but for what it is, the experience is solid and so, if you're in the area and looking for locally-owned bbq then Stax will get the job done.

I was surprised at this little establishment. A little difficult to get to off the main road, but the highlights of the food and drink was excellent. In-house sweet tea was awesome. I also thought it was cool they had orange soda (which goes well with BBQ.) Oh, the mustard sauce! Since I've been in Kentucky, I'm surprised how hard it is to find good Carolina style sauce. Stack impressed me with the mustard BBQ sauce. For the smaller, local (and assuming old) building, they kept clean bathrooms. Big plus...nobody likes nasty looking bathrooms. I only have a few negatives - The cole slaw was watery, and my brisket was just a bit too dry. The smoky flavor was spot on though, maybe just an off day for the kitchen staff... Service at the register was polite and fast, it was nice not having to wait long at all before the food arrived at our table.

Great hot food n relatively quick service (drive thru). Disappointed they didn't have any hot ribs ready at 7:30 pm but we took them cold n heated at home. I had pulled pork sandwich with spicy BBQ - delish! Cole slaw- not that tasty. Overall I went for the BBQ pulled pork n it was very good!

It was good, not great. The sweet potato fries were better than the pork; the pork was smoked in house however the sauces were not very good.

Better than average BBQ. Smoked meats served dry. you put either hot or sweet sauce yourself. Clean pleasant interior, pleasant staff and served the food very quickly.

I live about 15 mins from this place and was hoping so badly they would be a good source of Q but was disappointed. Their sauces are decent and the rib meat was tender but didn't have much taste. They told me they smoke the brisket for 12 hours but it was not very good. Not tough but certainly not moist and again, not much flavor. Sides were pretty good but the meats were just bland and average. My wife didn't like the pulled chicken sandwich either.

Spoke to the manager, they have a very gluten free friendly menu. Their BBQ sauce is gluten free! The only thing that would make it better is if the fries were in a dedicated fryer. Great food, great experience.

I really enjoyed this BBQ joint. Fast and very friendly service! I had the beef brisket sandwich: great smoke flavor, moist and not too much fat. The brisket was sliced, not chopped which I really enjoy. They had four sauces: tangy Carolina, sweet, spicy and hot XX. I tried all but the Carolina and preferred the hot xx. My family shared a rack of pork ribs which had a tasty rub. They had baked beans, sweet potato fries and jalapeño cornbread as their sides. All we're good but the cornbread muffins were pretty dry.

Staxx is a little hard to find on the corner of US 60 and 127 on an auxiliary road. Super cute (wish I had taken a pix). Has a drive through. We got the dinner for two which includes a POUND of meat (we got brisket), two sides (we got coleslaw and green beans) and sauce. Brisket was fall apart good. Coleslaw as a pleasant surprise - light, not gobs of mayo, just flavor - it was perfect with the brisket. Super friendly staff (I went in instead of trying out the drive through). Perfect after 12 hours on the road. Not one scrap left for the dogs :-)
