Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Blood Pressure at Pizza Hut

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

I have been a patron of Izzy's for fifty years. The food is just as good today as it was the first time I ate there. I am glad that there is now one here so I don't have to go to Cinti to enjoy their great food. I can't go without starting with a bowl of their cabbage soup, then pick any sandwich from the menu for a wonderful meal. But I'm sorry, I sure miss the good old days with IZZY and MOMMA in the original old place over in Cincinnati. That was a real dinning experience.

Love Izzys, wish they had more locations through out Cincy. If your looking for a great Reuben give them a try. The potato cakes are also a nice change of pace.

Saw the commercial on TV and knew I needed to try this place. I love Reuben's and I'm pretty sure I just ate the best Reuben in the world! Pickles were delicious, coleslaw was great & the potato pancake was to die for. I'm sad I only got a half instead of a full. Will be back to try Matzo ball soup (only served on friday), so excited for that! The service was great as well! I came in right when they opened and I was greeted right away and ready to be helped.

Great experience! Anytime someone sits a small crock of handmade (fresh) pickles upon your table at the start of dinner service you know it's going to be a meal that makes your heart smile! Well I was right! Small quick service restaurant. Serves beer bottles. Potato pancake wasn't my fav, couldn't eat it bc it was so fluffy and greasy all in the same bite lol. No biggie, I know a lot of people like them. The sandwich I had was a Reuben. It was incredible. I could pg eat half. I wanted to eat the whole thing and tuck a napkin in my shirt. It was crunchy tangy, savory, and rich. I left with a smile on my face! Yum!

You can't go wrong with the Reuben or corned beef sandwiches, throw in a potato pancake and grab some barley soup! So so good!

Had not been here in a while, sure forgot what I missed. I took my girlfriend Toey for a quick cheap lunch. I ordered The Ruben whole sandwich and potato pancake. We split the lunch, which was perfect for us. The Ruben sandwich first comes with rye bread with sauerkraut, secret sauce and Ruben meat...it was awesome and the pickles on the side...OMG was great. I'm going to start coming here more often.

2nd time to dine at Izzy's. THIS PLACE IS OFF THE CHAIN! The "Famous Reuben" is amazing! This place is a MUST STOP when in the Florence area. The service was good and my beverage stayed full - even brought a to go cup without asking.

Good place to stop if you are craving a Reuben, pickles and potato pancakes were yummy. Sauerkraut didn't have much flavor.

  • Toree C.

Everything we ordered was delicious, which was surprising to me. The inside of the restaurant has a fast food feel. That isn't necessarily a problem, however, I believe it should be reflected in the prices. For a very basic lunch, I would rather spend $10/person sitting in a comfortable booth. If corned beef is what you're craving, definitely give it a try, but I would suggest ordering it to go.

This is not a place to be confused with some of the unique deli's (Cinci - Blue Ash Chili or CBus - Katzingers") but they are a chain and is very good. I get their reuben and sweet and sour cabbage soup. Service - Table Service - Friendly and Fast Food - Good Cost - Meidum - Sandwich $8/ Soup $3 (this is not Subway). Enjoy!

I was always meh about Izzys but this one for some reason makes me crave it. The employees are always nice and friendly which is great. It does NOT have a Drive thru though it looks like it does. The drive thru is actually Starbucks.

Since the Izzy's in Covington closed (sad face), this is now my local Izzy's location. That's not a bad thing, because the service here is better than it was at the Covington location, and the parking situation is eleventy billion times better! Usually when I come to Izzy's, I get the standard Reuben or the cod Reuben (both amazing), but this last time, I decided on the pastrami Reuben. How have I not ordered this before? It's like a regular Reuben, but way better. Pretzel roll instead of rye bread? Yes, please! Gulden's spicy brown mustard instead of thousand island? MmmHmm! Pastrami instead of corned beef? Checkmate! This is a must try sandwich. It may change your life, seriously. Of course it comes with Izzy's famous pickles and a potato pancake. The pickles are great, and this is the only place where I eat them. The potato pancakes can be hit or miss. Sometimes they are a little chewy, but both times I've been to this location, they've been extremely fresh and crispy. Be sure to douse it in spicy brown mustard. Come check this place out, and don't forget about the pastrami Reuben!

I work as an Independent Living specialist for the disabled, so when I go into an establishment, my accessibility radar is always on. This restaurant is quite accessible for wheelchairs and those who have mobility issues and when I noticed a small problem for mobility in the rest rooms, the staff were not only happy to make the adjustment but thanked me for bringing it to their attention so that they could better serve their customers. Very impressed.

I thought this place was great! Walked in, was greeted right away. I was alone so I sat near the kitchen. I knew what I wanted and ordered a Pastrami on Rye and it was outstanding. Not huge like what you'd get in NY. But really good. Loved the potato cake they serve with it. I also scored a 20% coupon off online so that was a plus. I highly recommend the place. It's right next to Starbucks. I passed when I exited off the highway.

Izzy's is absolutely delicious food... Always so fresh and I have to double up (sometimes triple up) on the potato pancakes... For me, the ONLY negative thing I can say is I wish the sandwiches were bigger, but I'm a glutton for their food so...

Corned beef was really good, owner / manager was there and very helpful and friendly. Fast service, simple menu. What's not to like?

Just thinking about Jewish delis and cured meats puts me in a Pavlovian trance. Not kidding. Whenever I think about pastrami my mouth begins to water and I need to quickly get what I am jonesing for. I lived in NYC during college and have had all the legends, and when I think of pastrami not much holds a candle to 2nd Ave Deli and Katz's, but Izzy's does hold its own in the Reubens department. Their Reubens, piled high with their delicious corn beef, kraut and Swiss cheese, are to die for. Also their potato pancakes are fantastic! The size of funnel cakes, these fried, starch laden, heart attack monsters, come with every sandwich and are great with spicy brown mustard. If you are feeling really adventurous there are some creative sandwiches to try. The Jeff Ruby, which has tons of goodies including slaw and chicken liver. For the more health conscience there is the Turkey Reuben served on a soft ciabatta bread, granted the thing is covered in 1000 island dressing and Swiss chess, so not sure how healthy it is for you. The portions are always good sizes, giving you enough to be a glutton for the day, or to have half a sandwich for a snack latter in the day. Oh and did I mention the pickles??? All you can eat at the tables, and when you want more you can buy them at Kroger. I take jars of these things back to NYC and give them as gifts. Does this Izzy's have its drawbacks? Sure. For one the restaurant itself is pretty generic and sterile. You can tell the bread is nothing special, and don't even get me started on the pastrami. Once you have had the real deal you just can't go back. But for being a proud Deli dating over 100 years and to have survived being in Florence for several years, you have to be doing something right. Here you won't feel like a movie star in NYC, but you can enjoy a great sandwich and reconnect with Cincinnati's proud Jewish heritage. Mazel Tov!

The Reuben is good but the potato pancake was very disappointing, like this heavy deep fried blob of starch that was bland and dripping with grease. As for the service, it's typical of any other Mall Rd. joint, the whole get in/get out kinda deal and if you ask about menu options, be prepared to be treated like a pariah.

  • Brent A.

Best traditional Reuben you can find. Great service. Kids eat free all day Saturday. I can't wait to try more of the menu. The soups look and smelled amazing.

I have been to several Izzy's locations throughout the Cincinnati area, but this one seems like it has gotten the least amount of love so far from Yelpers. The great thing about Izzy's is of course the Corned Beef Reuben and at every location, they are pretty much the same, excellent. Izzy's is the closest thing you are gonna get to a Jewish sandwich shop in the Tri-State area and I have been eating their Reubens and potato pancakes since I was a kid. The portions are always fair for the prices and there is always an abundance of pickles, kraut and extra thousand island dressing if that is how you like it. In addition, the kids menu has gotten alot better and I have noticed that especially at this location it's quite family friendly. I remember when Izzy's was at the top of RT 18 off of 75 and as a NKY resident I was sad when it left. But now that it's back and on Mall Road, folks that don't get downtown can still enjoy their Izzy's.

  • Cynthia R.

I really enjoy this Izzy's. Ok, so it's the only location I've been to so I guess I can't compare vs the others. But they've always been great here, whether I take-out or dine-in. My usual order is different variations of the variety plate... delicious every time. What really stood out to me was a time when a waitress accidentally spilled some drink on a person in our group, and we all got offered free cookies. That is good customer service! What I also love about this place: open til 10pm, good coupons in the monthly circular, those awesome potato pancakes, and a great dessert selection. Yum.

  • Jeni F.

I have only gotten take-out from this deli, so I can't relate to the other yelpers' complaints about the kraut and pickles on the tables. My favorite part about about Izzy's is the giant potato pancake that you get with the deli sandwiches. It is extremely most and flavorful - and warm! I ate mine in less than a minute and was bargaining with my husband for his. I've ordered the reuben several times and have been perfectly satisified. For Kentucky (or southern Ohio, as it seems to be a Cincinnati establishment), a good deli sandwich is hard to come by, so yay for Izzy's!

    (4)
  • Mike G.

This is not your parents' Izzys. It's really a sit-down sports bar serving overpriced deli sandwiches. I wasn't at all impressed. The ruben sandwich wasn't as good as I had remembered of other Izzy's restaraunts. They charge extra for cheese, pickles, etc, but have containers of pickle slices and kraut on each table...go figure. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon!

    (2)
  • Missy M.

Went there for an enjoyable Sat afternoon lunch. However, it was not enjoyable. The place was filthy, the floor was greasy and had food all over it, the tv was blaring so loud it was hard to have a conversation, and the worst part of the day was this: Izzy's has little covered bowls of pickles and kraut on the tables that they leave there all day. So while eating I look over to the table behind my hubby only to watch a guy use his fingernail to remove food from his teeth, then take a pickle right out of the little bowl on the table!!! Wait, it gets worse... the girl that was with him cleaned her fork off in her mouth then took kraut out of the bowl on the table, took a bite and went right back for more!!! I watched as they left, and the waitress cleaned off the table, put the lids on those bowls, stacked them and walked away. In came another couple who sat down and took the lid off the pickles and had some of his own. However, this brave soul used the tongs....GROSS!! I'll never eat there again!
