I found this place to be the best, fresh tasting Mexican food in the area. The service is always fast and friendly. Not to mention - they keep this place very clean. You can't go wrong by stopping here.

I have never eaten at a bad El Nopal, and as of tonight I can still say that. In fact I think this may be my new favorite El Nopal. The cheese dip is phenomenal, and I haven't found a better salsa anywhere, especially the hot. The company as a whole has it's act together which is why I knew before hand it was going to be good. They have lunch specials and drink specials, but I recommend the shrimp, any version of it. You can eat the chips and salsa till our full, and then the amazing food comes. As soon as we moved to NKY, I have been waiting for this place to open, it's that good.

I happened to be driving by and noticed quite a few cars in the lot so I decided to give it a try. Fantastic on all counts! I was given a mild and hot salsa with a basket of warm chips. Both salsas were good but I preferred the hot. I ordered the combo with a taco and 2 enchiladas. The taco meat was nicely seasoned and the enchilada gravy had a nice tang. I will definitely be back the next time I am in the area!

last week me and a couple co-workers went here for lunch and all of us was disappointed. I can't remember the name of my dish but it was chicken over rice with queso sauce over top, It was edible but really had no flavor. there was absolutely no seasoning on the chicken. Just simply seared/ in skillet plain. co-worker order the #7 lunch combo and she could not even eat hers.. I think she took 2 bites. When the waiter asked us if things was o.k she mentioned about her dish and I told him about mine all he said was I will let kitchen know. I could eat mine with a little salsa added to give flavor but hers was not eatable and one would think they would have comp the meal or gave her something for a return visit. they did not offer nothing. we all commented to ne another how we wouldn't go back. I will stick to my favorite Mexican restaurant on Mt. Zion rd. much better flavor, price and friendly atmosphere.

Excellent Mexican Food! Not crowded on a Friday night, food was delicious and very fast and fresh. The guacamole is very good!!! Be careful though, the salsa bottles aren't marked and the spicy is super spicy!!!

Food was average. I ordered the spinach and mushroom quesadilla which was served without sour cream (never had a quesadilla without a side of SC). I was charged $1 for it. Speaking of charge, check your bill. I was overcharged and could not get the waitress to understand so I just let it go but will not go back.

I truly like El Nopal. My only complaint is that they can be bit skimpy on the salsa. The bottles are almost always half full if not less.

When we are craving mexican seafood this is our first choice. We love the restaurant in Carollton,Ky, but this is a lot closer to Cincinnati. It's always the same choice, Crabmeat Enchiladas & Crabmeat Chimichanga, they are covered in a white cheese sauce (unfortunately for $10 you are not going to get real crab in Cincinnati), but its still pretty good..

I tried this restaurant for the first time this week and was impressed. Food was good, staff was extremely friendly and the decor inside was nice. I really liked the salsa and the carnitas. My wife had the beef enchiladas and too was pleased with the meal. I would definitely go back.

Terrible customer service! We ordered take-out from there tonight. When we opened up the bag at home, we saw that one of the items we ordered was incomplete (we had ordered cheese dip and chips and there were no chips in the bag). So we called them and figured it would be an easy fix--just refund us for the cost of the dip. Wrong. They gave us the option of either coming back to get the chips or returning the food. In other words, we either let them keep our money for something they didn't give us or we make another 20 minute round trip to the restaurant. So we returned the food because even if I had wanted to keep the entrees, by the time I would've gotten home the second time, it would've been cold. They refunded our money but at no point did they apologize for the inconvenience or for the mix-up. To make it even more insulting, they carefully went through the bag to make sure the chips were actually missing and that we hadn't eaten any of the food, as if I would waste that much of my time to cheat them out of some chips or a few bites of an entree. We used to go to this restaurant a lot (and visited another location in Louisville regularly when we lived there). We will never be going back.

I work nearby so I anticipated the opening of this restaurant eagerly and have not been disappointed. Bringing both hot and mild salsa along with warm tortilla chips is a nice touch. The hot salsa is good but is lacking in cilantro and lime flavors for my taste. Today I ordered Camarones Ala Diabla and it was excellent. It comes with your choice of corn or flour tortillas (I went with corn) and rice, lettuce, a tomato wedge, and avocado. The diabla sauce makes this meal. It has that kind of spicy heat that creeps up on you and a lot of flavor. When I mentioned the spiciness to the server he said they had recently changed the sauce- to that I say good decision. Service is friendly and fast every time I have been there. I expect that I will be back many more times.

Went because of we had a BOGO coupon for fajitas. Service was actually pretty good. Nice servers who kept our drinks full. Food, was meh. Salsa was not fresh made, chips were typical mass bought and reheated. Tortillas for the fajitas were also not fresh made, and probably not made there. Plenty of food, which was nice, but again, taste was just meh. Chuy's definitely has the drop on El Nopal with better food at comparable prices. We'll be going there from now on instead.

Cheese dip is great and the hot sauce is awesome ! They give you both a hot and mild salsa. I didn't care for the mild but it's great for kids or those who can't tolerate heat. We are vegetarians so I was happy to find out they have a vegetarian menu AND they do not put lard in the refried beans. However... They do put chicken stock in the rice. A little tip for any other vegetarians ou there. Our meal was excellent and the place was very clean. The servers were attentive and very knowledgable of the ingredients and menu. It's looking like this will be my new favorite Mexican in the area!

This place is phenomenal, from the chips and salsa to the main entrees. Great service and great food. I got the pollo poblano and cheese dip and both were incredible. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

There are a lot of Mexican restaurants in Florence, and El Nopal is distinguished by having the worst food. I had crabmeat enchiladas and my wife ordered spinach enchiladas. Both were filled with soft gooey stuff that was flavored and colored relatively close to what we ordered, but had the texture of cereal that had been in milk all day ... and tasted about the same. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The prices are reasonable. But I'm never going back.

Just stumbled across El Nopal this past Saturday as we originally exited I-75 to eat at a sports bar. While sitting at the sports bar for over 10 minutes with no one coming to the table, we left. A block away we saw El Nopal and there were a decent amount of cars in the lot so we figured it couldn't be bad. Well - - couldn't be bad doesn't come close to the truth. It was great. With in 10 minutes, we had ordered, had our drinks, had our server out twice along with the manger and had our food. Excellent and fast service. I had the grilled chicken salad - it was great. There was so much chicken - I couldn't eat half of it. The salsa - it was one of the best I have had. My husband had a huge 32 oz mug of cold beer. He was happy. I wish we lived closer so we could go back. Will stop by again the next time we are driving past!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
