Burlington’s Willis Graves Bed & Breakfast Inn

I don't have enough good things to say about the Willis Graves B&B. Nancy, one of the owners, greeted us upon our arrival and gave us a tour of the house. Because we were one of only two couples staying there that night, she also offered us a free upgrade to one of the Inn's larger rooms. The room was immaculate, with great bonuses like a steam shower and espresso machine. The next morning, Nancy made us some of her amazing gingerbread pancakes. Even though we live in New York, we're hoping to find a cheap flight to Cincinnati just so we can go back for another weekend getaway.
What a amazing stay. We stayed for 2 nights while exploring the Cincinnati area. The Rouse retreat was amazingly furnished, tastefully decorated, and lavishly comfortable. The breakfasts in the morning were splendid. The location is definitely not in the thick of the downtown nightlife, but actually very convenient to the city, more so than expected. We will recommend this venue to everyone coming to the area.
Willis Graves B&B is beautiful, and cosy. The grounds are immaculate and the house is beautifully maintained. I loved the blue and white china Nancy used on the tables. We stayed in a suite with a separate sitting room and bath. The bath had a steam shower and jacuzzi tub. We loved the fluffy robes, line dried linen and old fashioned bed. The sitting room was beautiful and so comfortable with a fridge, microwave, and expresso maker. We also had a flat screen, fire place with gas logs, and a comfy couch. Breakfast was a little skimpy, but delicious. I would have loved some toast and fresh jam with my breakfast pie. This was the perfect place to spend our 14th anniversary. I'm glad I found them online.

Just passing through town and this was a place that delivered to hotel. I ordered Moo Shu pork, fried dumplings, and to make it over the $20 delivery threshold, I got Honey boneless spare ribs. Dumplings were homemade with delicate skins and browned just right. Moo Shu pancakes were the authentic kind, not tortillas like you get some places. The moo shu itself was very fresh including fresh mushrooms and not too salty. Many times after eating Chinese you need to drink a gallon of water a few hours later. Not with what I ordered. And the spare ribs were tender and very tasty without being overly sauced. I am going to be able to save those for a little tasty bite on my flight tomorrow. I would definitely order from this restaurant again.
Yummmmmm! I love Chinese food, and I love Golden Wok. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, and they have delivery within a 5 mile radius. The best thing about it for me is that the sweet and sour sauce doesn't get clumpy after you refrigerate it. I recommend the crag rangoons and the egg drop soup. It's excellent. Definitely worth it for a dine in or take out experienced.
Attentive staff when you dine in. I never have had to ask for a refill, which is the sign of a good wait staff in my book. The food is always really hot and fresh and is at the table very quickly. Ordering to go can be a bit tricky with the language barrier from time to time but they haven't ever messed up an order from the 5+ years I've been ordering from them.

Tousey House Restaurant

5963 N Jefferson St
Burlington, 41005
Reviews:
Grilled citrus chicken, fried green tomatoes, chicken salad, and a menu option that was removed recently, the peach glazed chicken sandwich are some of my favorites. Enjoy these amazing menu options in a beautiful renovated historic home located in the heart of downtown Burlington. Erastus Tousey and his wife had owned this building many moons ago, one rumor that a waitress shared with me is that the home was used during the Underground Railroad. The restaurant has two floors for dining, I've only been on the first floor where the bar is, as well as two patios, and one of my favorite spots that I've ever been in a restaurant. A dining room that feels like I'm stepping in the Victorian era with a beautiful fireplace. When I'm here I feel like I'm stepping back into the past and taking a bite out of history. Here's a breakdown of the menu options I have tried: Firstly my most goofy restaurant recommendation. Coca-Cola. You can't enjoy southern-style cooking without a ice cold soda to scarf down the juicy fried chicken that you'll have the pleasure of chewing down on. Now that I've got that off my chest, let's review one of my favorite options. Grilled citrus chicken. I felt like I overlooked this menu option because the citrus nearly scared me off from trying it. I thought to myself, "Fruit and chicken? That sounds repulsive." Then it came to my attention that the orange chicken at nearly every Asian restaurant I've ever been in has offered this. Except that this chicken is better. It's not the odd crunchy skeptical mystery meat chicken at Asian restaurants at the mall. It's good ol' Kentucky chicken and let me tell you, it's probably the most juiciest chicken I've ever had. I nearly felt it would explode in my face from how juicy it was. (Maybe I'm over exaggerating a bit, or maybe I'm not...) Chicken so good you have to go and bring your momma and old granny in to try some? You betcha. I tried the family-style fried chicken ALONE. After telling them about how amazing it was, they still didn't come. Maybe I'm just going to have to pick them up, sit them in a chair, and let the chefs blow their minds. I'm still wondering why KFC is still in business. Just kidding, Kernel Sanders you can never be replaced! Peach glazed chicken sandwich, where art thou? I miss thee. After looking at the menu on my most recent visit -- I'm pondering on what made the owners eliminate the funky combination of peach goodness and poultry. It was quite possibly one of the most creative culinary masterpieces that I've ever had the luxury of holding in my hands. Reintroduce it with a twist that I've tried at another tavern, zucchini fries. That alone would blow anyone's socks off into the crevices of space. I can't cook this southern classic at home no matter how hard I try. Fried green tomatoes. Maybe it's because I'm not from the south or I'm just awful at frying things. My great-grandfather Dewey introduced me to the concept of fried green tomatoes, Tousey allowed me to experience the flavor intended to me. My fried green tomatoes = awful mess. Tousey House tomatoes = delicious. Folks I'm just going to have to let you try this for yourselves, however you expect fried tomatoes to taste, that's nearly what they'll be. House caesar salad was above average. It was better than Wendy's offering, but not quite as good as a higher end dining establishment. No need to explain Caesar salads, you've probably had countless. Chicken salad with my cousin? Was it good or bad? In between. Not as good as my aunt Gail's homemade chicken salad, but better than that funky stuff in a can that you can get at the grocery store. Well maybe it's going to be amazing to someone who hasn't had Gail's chicken salad which is exclusively limited to about ten people. The general population will enjoy the chicken salad. BONUS: It also comes with fruit! I've never braved the courage of shelling out nearly $10 for one of their desserts, but from what everyone I know that's tried them, from what I hear they are scrumptious. I haven't been to Tousey House in quite some time, so they may have added, modified, or eliminated menu items (For the sake of Erastus, please being back the peach glazed chicken sandwich!) Would I recommend THT to a friend? Of course. Would I recommend THT to my neighbor? Of course. Would I recommend THT to my childhood dog Joe Joe? Of course, that beast eats anything. Go just go! It's not my favorite place to eat, but it's at the top of my list for southern style cooking.
Charming atmosphere, delicious food, and great service!
You must go here if you're in the area and haven't tried it. I went on a business dinner and the service and food were fabulous. Everyone at the table really enjoyed their meals. I don't think it matters what you order. Get whatever sparks your fancy and you won't be disappointed!

I miss Big Boy and always try to stop at a Frisch's when I am in Cincinnati. My server was very friendly and helpful. Too bad there are not more Big Boys across the country. I had the Super Big Boy and sweet potato fries. The Big Boy was just as good as I always remember. Sweet potato fries were nothing special. Restaurant was clean and well run.

Wyatt’s Bar and Billiards

Decent bar located in a strip mall with some nice greasy bar food and drinks at very reasonable prices. I dare you to try the "Wyatt's Challenge" of a 3lb house-made patty with all the fixin's and served with a pile of fries and pickles. Finish it under 45mins and you won't have to pay the $28. I opted for a much more practical, but still greasy and tasty Fire Fries appetizer (~$4! great deal). Thick cut fries covered in melted cheddar Jack cheese, jalapenos, Chipotle Ranch, Buff-a-Que, Fire Sauce, bacon, and green onions. Phew! There was a band that was about to start performing so be aware that it can get really loud in here. I don't recall anyone smoking but assume that it wasn't nonsmoking. There are plenty of games (yes, there was one of those deer shooting kind) and TV's (guys at the bar watched everything from soccer to horse racing) to keep you entertained as well. Service was fine, although I didn't always know who my server was as they all seemed to share responsibilities. Cool.
Went for a fire fries bc it looked so good on the picture. Nice clean place. Apparently there is new owner and the fire fries weren't on the menu so "the new owner" made them for me anyway. They were absolutely delicious and I begged him to put the fire fries back on the menu!
Nothing makes me happier than when a bad (almost scary) restaurant is replaced with a much better one. The establishment previously at this location was indeed scary at times. The large sign advertising their breakfast pizza and pitcher of Bud Light special was a good indication of that. Wyatt's is something different than that. For one thing, the place is actually clean and the restrooms aren't science projects. You're greeted as you enter and the service is attentive. The food is general bar food, but with a few variations here and there. They only have four taps, but they aren't loaded with the usual Bud/Miler/Coors. They actually have beers on tap that have flavor! Wyatt's feels like a neighborhood bar and grill where couples and families can feel comfortable. Will be interesting to see what football season is like there come this fall!

I have been to many chipotle's. I love them all. The food is always so good. Sometimes better than others but always so good. One thing that some do lack is the one thing that keeps me coming back to this particular chipotle. The staff is awesome. Most chipotle have broken eglish speaking workers who Never even crack a smile at you. Not here. The staff is always pleasant and they are always smiling. Always asking you how your doing. How's the food. They are great. I would drive right ast three chipotles to drive to this one. Mall road is ok..dream street kind of sucks...this one..a+
Love the chicken. Love watchin my food being made. Best guacamoli-sp. Better than qdoba in my opinon. I visit only the mall rd location.
Delicious, and good service. Can be very busy during lunch rush.

White Castle

In full disclosure, I grew up in the Cincinnati area and I now live in Florida. We do not have White Castle. I do believe that this may be one of those things that you don't really want if you can have it, but if you can't you crave it. I normally don't even review fast food places. However, I have been craving White Castle for about 5-6 years since I last had it, so I am reviewing it. Anyways, I was in town for a few days and ended up at this White Castle that is close to my old house. We went through the drive-thru and ordered a few regular cheese sliders (5 total). The ordering process was easy and pretty quick (even though there were 3 cars in front of us). The sliders were hot, the cheese was melty and they were delicious. I really enjoyed my fix and they lived up to the hype in my memory. I hope it isn't another 5 years before I have another.
Terrible service. 18 minutes to wait in chicken rings and a couple cheese burgers. They were waiting in chicken and asked us to move forward in the drive through. We did and they forgot about us and never brought the food. This is a terrible staff.
Very pleasantly surprised. I have never been a White Castle person but the kids received certificates for free meals. The chicken sliders were very good. Staff was very friendly & attentive including the manager John.

03/25/2015 Horrible. 21$ for two lunches and steamed dumplings. She got chicken Lo Mein and it was uneatable. My general Tao chicken was edible but cheap quality and she didn't grove me enough sauce with my steamed dumpling. Just sayin.
Not the best Chinese food. Ordered the sesame chicken, could not find the chicken. It also was dry. And eating with plastic utensil, that cooth. I would not recommend this place, unless your stranded on a island and that all you can eat to survive.
