Just passing through town and this was a place that delivered to hotel. I ordered Moo Shu pork, fried dumplings, and to make it over the $20 delivery threshold, I got Honey boneless spare ribs. Dumplings were homemade with delicate skins and browned just right. Moo Shu pancakes were the authentic kind, not tortillas like you get some places. The moo shu itself was very fresh including fresh mushrooms and not too salty. Many times after eating Chinese you need to drink a gallon of water a few hours later. Not with what I ordered. And the spare ribs were tender and very tasty without being overly sauced. I am going to be able to save those for a little tasty bite on my flight tomorrow. I would definitely order from this restaurant again.

Yummmmmm! I love Chinese food, and I love Golden Wok. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, and they have delivery within a 5 mile radius. The best thing about it for me is that the sweet and sour sauce doesn't get clumpy after you refrigerate it. I recommend the crag rangoons and the egg drop soup. It's excellent. Definitely worth it for a dine in or take out experienced.

Attentive staff when you dine in. I never have had to ask for a refill, which is the sign of a good wait staff in my book. The food is always really hot and fresh and is at the table very quickly. Ordering to go can be a bit tricky with the language barrier from time to time but they haven't ever messed up an order from the 5+ years I've been ordering from them.

Polly Campbell, food reviewer for the Cincinnati Enquirer, once said if there was an award for best Chinese Food Carryout in Cincinnati, she would give it to Golden Wok. At least, that's what it says on their wall. So far, I'd have to agree with her. The thing is, everything here is fresh and original. Their sauces don't taste like the ones that go by the same name on every other Chinese carryout place in town. The schezuan chicken was closer to a sweet and sour, and the taste of catsup was obvious, but it worked. I would have like it hotter, as it was marked spicy, but the vegetables were so fresh and the meat so not old tasting, it was quite enjoyable regardless. How sad is that when it comes to Chinese carryout, you only have to be not bad to be good? Also, the chicken on a stick that comes as a side instead of the typical egg roll is very tasty, I'd be happy with a meal of only those. Also, the carry out comes in a nice plastic bowl, which makes it easy to take straight to a nearby park to eat.

Ok, for Chinese fast food, this place is really good. I really phrase the white rice. I have some coworkers that are really picky eater, them even like this restaurant. They are big fans of he fried rice. The sesame chicken taste really fresh. My favorite dish is the honey pork, which only serves dinner time. Chicken broccoli is yummy too. The average price is $6-8 for lunch. Again make sure you get the white rice.

I'm the kind of person that usually orders different menu items each time I visit a place until I find that one gem. Unfortunately, I've worked through most of Golden Wok's menu, never finding a dish worth repeating. It's not that anything is bad, just mediocre. From General Tso's chicken to lo mein to Hong Chicken and many other dishes in between, nothing has ever wowed me. Also, I'm pretty sure they only take cash.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
