Made reservations for our friends going away party. We got there a few minutes early and asked if we could sit down and the girl said no. I was a little taken back by that. Then when we were seated it was with another group where there would not have been room for all those in our party. It seemed like a hassle for them to move us. Finally after 45 minutes of waiting we got our salads. Wasn't sure if it was because one of us went up to ask. The room was extremely hot and a lady came in to turn the air conditioner on and we thanked her. but then it proceeded to get warmer by the minute. I have been to other steakhouses where it's warm because the grill is on but this was entirely different. we only used one of the grills yet we found out the other one was on all night when I asked the chef if he could turn it off and he burned his hand on the controls. Two of us ordered sushi but it didn't come till the end of the meal and all on one plate. The server put it down with no chop sticks and walked off. We had no idea what was what. Then come to find out most of what was on our plate was for the other order. They reminded the server and he brought it right out and said they accidentally put them together. We hardly ate any of it because it was so much but we handed off the whole plate that was left to them but then theirs came out at the same time as the ice cream so not much of it got eaten. When the waiter finally came back and we were hoping for our tabs he said in front of everyone that he put all the sushi on our ticket what do you want me to do about it. I said I would like to pay for only the sushi I ordered please and he said right in front of my friends well that was inappropriate. I said he needed to go get the manager. No one came. Finally after 2 hours in this sauna of a room we went to the front to pay and find the manager. I explained that the waiter was out of line and I would appreciate if I could only pay for what I ordered. He said there was a lack of communication because 2 people in our party didn't show up. I was like um that is not why we had a bad experience. We will not be going back. As a manager your job is to make the customer feel better not try to blame them somehow. Go to Kikus!

There's not that many options for sushi in Topeka, and this place is just ok. Try to avoid going there on Sundays and holidays (like Valentines day) because it appears the owner takes over the sushi rolling duties, and she's not very good- the rolls come out a mess, falling apart. Much better on other days, decent prices. Service can be a bit slow.

The sushi used to be better, when I first started going there, the guy who made it was great, but he hasn't been there the past several times we've been there. The value to us was good, and the sushi is still good, but not great. The teppanyaki grill is great too, the show(cooking style) is good sometimes, the food always tastes great, I usually take the Sesame Chicken. One time it was burnt, but I eat there at least once a month, sometimes more, and it's usually not burnt. The quiet side could use some sound baffling, or white noise generators, or both. It is too easy to hear other peoples, sometimes noisy/distracting conversation.

We had the sushi here. It was great! Fantasy roll was our favorite. I also had a green dragon drink and it was good but very strong. Prices were very fair. Service was very good and friendly. We will be back great experience.

I can't get enough of this place. Simply the best sushi I've ever had. I always get treated with respect and the food is always top shelf. Talking to the sushi chef, they spent a lot of time and effort perfecting their sushi, and it shows. Their fish is always fresh and top notch. I've never been to their habachi grill, and quite frankly if you come here and dont sit on the sushi side, you probably deserve terrible food anyway.

Even though we had a reservation, we don't get table until everybody is turning up and then it will take time for chef to come to your table and prepare the food in front of you. Chefs culinary skills were good but food still tastes very ordinary... soup and salad that were included in main course tasted good than main course... there was confusion at time of preparing bills...

The food here is amazing! I had gone here three times before my holiday break and there was always more food than you knew what to do with, so I'd happily take it home and savor it for the next day. Well over the break, they did some drastic changes. The place looked nicer, a bonus, but it was like they took the portion sizes they offered before and cut them in thirds without also reducing the prices. I'm sad to see how they changed and may not go back again.

I told the sushi chef that I wanted three rolls and that I trusted him. He went on to explain three extraordinary complex and tasty sounding rolls. (one even had caviar which I had never tasted before) The finished products tasted amazing. The flavors were both subtle and deep and I had never seen someone make a to go box look like a work of art. I also ordered the filet/chicken/shrimp for my parents. I had a taste before the food vanished and it didn't disappoint either. Cheers Sakura!

It's been very difficult to find good places in the Topeka area that have decent service and delicious sushi, but I can definitely say I will return here when I'm in the mood for something good. I've read other reviews that state that a female sushi chef made sloppy rolls or prepared them with (perhaps) bad ingredients -- Luckily I did not experience anything like this. We did have a male chef who seemed extremely knowledgeable and kind -- he came by the table to see how we liked our sushi and engaged in some small talk. We did go on a weeknight, so perhaps that's why we experienced such quick and good service. Either way, the sushi was absolutely delicious and our service was great!!

I'd been to this location twice previously - once when it was Shogun and once when it was Sakura. Yuki preserves much of the essence of its previous incarnations. One side of the restaurant serves sushi while the other contains the hibachi area. We had the hibachi dinner. The cook was having a bit of an off day and fumbled a few tricks. The food was good though. I much prefer the miso soup and ginger salad here to Kiku's. You also get double the serving of sherbet than at Kiku's. The cooks may not be as practiced as at Kiku's, but the food is just as good and CONSIDERABLY cheaper! I'd definitely pick this spot over Kiku's from now on if I want a hibachi style meal. The service was accommodating and the owner made sure to greet us and talk to us during and after our meal.

I noticed that this place changed its name so I felt an obligation to try them since my last review under the previous name wasn't all that great. I ordered octopus salad, spicy crab salad, a Waikiki roll and a spicy salmon roll to go. It was disappointing that they don't have a basic soup selection and the appetizers could use some additions as well. I was pleased to find that both of the salads we on cucumber slices vs Kerry's but was very disappointed by the ratio of crab and octopus to cucumber in both dishes. The Waikiki roll was ok, if someone wanted to try it when we were splitting rolls I'd say ok but wouldn't order it just for myself again. The spicy salmon roll confused me, I probably should have read the description and not assumed it was what i usually think of when I think of that roll but it was ok. It is a California roll with salmon on top and some kinda weird chili lime sauce. Idk. It was also ok.

Amazing!! I thought I loved Kiku's until I found Yuki's!!! Amazing dishes, amazing FRESH sushi, amazing chef!!! The owner even came out to tell us about the sushi he was preparing and help us make a decision. Food was cooked in a timely manner, didn't have to wait forever which is great when you have young kids that are hungry! I don't think I could go back to Kiku's after going to Yuki's!!' A MUST TRY!'n

This is your standard hibachi grill--you get a salad, soup, your meat and seafood, rice, veggies, and dessert. This is smaller than other hibachi grills I have been to, but I thought the price was better for the amount of food we received. My fiance ordered the sushi and thought it was better than the other hibachi/sushi place in town. All and all, it was a good experience.

Nice looking interior. Friendly staff. This was the first time I had made the trek to yuki. I am glad I did. The food is great. I would definitely make it there again but due to the price it might be for special occasions.
