Online ordering via Yelp was simple and efficient. Ordered for pickup and food was ready within one minute of my arrival. I have eaten here several times, dine in and take out, and food is always very good and fresh. My one complaint is that they apparently ignored my special requests/instructions that I submitted online because I did not get exactly what I was hoping for. My other complaint is why no one around Topeka seems able to reproduce Springfield cashew chicken? All it is is fried chicken pieces, green onions and cashews in a brown sauce. How hard can that be?

We stopped in on a whim one chilly winter night. It was quiet inside and only two other tables had diners. The atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. Service was quick, accurate, and friendly. We ordered Panang Curry and split it between the two of us. It was just the right amount of food for dinner - left us fed without being stuffed. And it was pretty good too! Crispy peppers and a good peanutty sauce. No complaints here - will likely be back.

Stop by there from time to time...but this time I'm never going back...found left over metal scrubber in my food...didn't know until I chew on it...

So a few weeks after my initial visit to Asian cafe I made the mistake of ordering delivery. When I called in I could not understand the guy on the phone due to a strong language barrier. He told me my total then hung up very abruptly. Not too long after that my order arrived, but the guy at the door told me my total was $5 more than what the guy on the phone quoted me. I asked why and said he didn't know. When I asked for a receipt he said he didn't have one for me. So I payed and he left. After that I asked other people if they had ever had a steep delivery charge for this place, They all said no. To make matters worse, there were no chop sticks and none of the extra sauce I ordered. I mean, Ya think for that extra five bucks they could at least get my order right. This made me so upset that I don't know if I will ever be able to back.

Wonderful! Good food outside Topeka. GREAT for in Topeka! Their menu really is a little of everything. The majority is Chinese but they also have Korean, Thai and (kinda) Japanese. It's a nice mix. I got the chicken teriyaki and crab rangoon. I moved from Seattle so I've had chicken teriyaki a LOT prior to this and this is pretty damn good. Maybe too many sesame seeds but I'll ask them to hold the seeds next time. The crab rangoon was really good too. They're not your typical skimpy crab rangoon. The people who run this restaurant are incredibly friendly. I was alone so I got take out but it looked like a very comfortable place to have a meal. Added bonus for this place: the man who took my order let me know that the teriyaki was going to take longer than the other dishes... quite thoughtful!

I really liked Asian Cafe as a meat eater but I'm going to rate them very low as a vegetarian. The vegetarian menu is very small, basically tofu in 3 different sauce options. We ordered the spiciest one. I could have taken a box of tofu off the shelf and cut it up and poured sauce over it to create the same dish. There are a lot of ways to make tofu but at the very least, drain it and cook it. The tofu was essentially raw with a light coating of sauce. The same dish at other restaurants would have tofu steamed or fried but I'm pretty sure this tofu was just poured from a box and kind of cut up.

Based on the reviews today must be a bad day. Ordered the summer rolls aka lettuce rolls and they just fell apart. I attached a picture, these are a joke. The hot and sour soup had some chicken in it which I liked and also had the Japanese chicken that wasn't even cooked all the way through. I brought it to the waiters attention and he grabbed my plate and ran off. Do ya think he let me eat the rest of my meal, no he took the plate away and brought me my bill. He did take the chicken off the bill but come on, is this really how Asian food is done? I am disgusted!!!!!

My wife was out of town, so I ventured here with my 5 kids, all under the age of 8. First off, the service was amazing! The two gentlemen serving us were very accommodating to me and my kids. Since this was my first time, I wanted to try as much as I could. We ordered crab Rangoon, fried dumplings, egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, honey shrimp, chicken lo mein, and pad Thai. I cannot say anything bad about any of the food. The portions were excellent, and everything tasted great. My five year old almost finished off the whole order of lo mein on his own. The pad Thai had excellent flavor, and the honey shrimp was light, sweet, and crispy. For a place that make dishes from different parts of Asia, they do it very well. Add the excellent service, and the place gets its five stars. Will definitely be going again....this time with the wife!

I'm in Topeka about once a month and will definitely add this place to my restaurant rotation. The portions are huge, and a great value for the money. I ordered the pineapple fried rice with added shrimp and it provided enough for lunch the next day too. The crab Rangoon was stuffed to the brim and perfectly cooked, and the tempura vegetable appetizer is large enough for a meal. This place is super casual, it has the feel of a slightly better decorated fast food joint. Our waiter was clearly covering tables for a worker who hadn't shown up, so he had a lot of customers and was visibly nervous, but he did a great job taking care of us.

Our dinner plans were changed quickly, so we decided to stop here again. Now it's "Never again" because the food was just blah, blah, blah. My sizzling rice soup had no sizzling rice - and the portion was about 1/4 of a cup. The soup was essentially boiled veggies and chicken in water. No one seemed to be concerned that I only took a few bites and left the rest in the big bowl. Topeka has a problem with good Asian-style food. :(

Eaaeeearrrr.....screech!!!!! That's the tires screeching as you stop at the first restaurant ever to be successful in this new building located right across the street from the VA. I'll steer you here, and if you know me you know that I know my way around a plate! Especially, an Asian plate! They're doing good business here. It's fast, and it includes simple dishes that I haven't had at other places before. One thing on the lunch menu is Chicken with Green Beans...I had mine spicy and it was great. The combo came with soup, rice, an egg roll or crab rangoon........then they got crafty and decided to include some tempura vegetables like mushrooms, sweet potatoes (I think), and green beans. I was very satisfied my first time. Since then I have had a ginger shrimp type of meal that was awesome and gingery, beef bulgogi, and house special chicken. I would recommend them all. I like what they've done including the two TVs in the dining room. It's nice to grab my asian food and be able to catch the game at the same time. Sometimes I'm in a rush and I have to multi-task, ya know. Oh yeah, they also deliver.

Asian Cafe and Oriental Express are my favorite Asian restaurants. I have heard they are ran by the same people. I feel so welcome when I dine in and order take out. The food is so cheap and so delicious! The only bad experience was when I got the wrong order, but honestly... It was so delicious I could not even complain! I would recommend this place to anyone, especially the Thai selections!
