If you like small, quiet restaurants this is your place. I have been here twice and both times there has been a total 8 people there. I have the pho soup and just love the fresh ingredients that they give to me. The spring rolls and dipping sauce is refreshing as well. Since the crowd is usually light expect friendly service. they really do try to make your experience pleasant.

My first KC Pho experience was a success! I had a long day of apartment hunting, yet a fruitful one. The boyfriend and I wanted to have a lunch celebration, and agreed to try some nearby Pho. Our first time having Pho was in a place in Raleigh, North Carolina called Pho Far East. It was a really amazing place run by a dedicated Vietnamese family. This place really set our Pho expectations high. We had Pho a few other places that were always disappointing. Well, I have to say, we finally had some good Pho at Pho Good. When we first walked in, I noticed the place was decorated simply, like any other Vietnamese place I've been. When we headed to our booth, we both noticed a very strong, funky smell. The only word to describe it is "funk"...like a combination of strong bleach cleaner and an old musty attic. I hoped I would desensitize to the smell...which I did, but it was a bit of a deterrent at first. Our experience improved after the "funky" welcome. We both ordered the Pho with meatballs and sirloin beef. I also ordered some coffee. The coffee came out first, but it did not "wow" me. I would not order it again. Our food came out very quickly as well, with the usual accompaniments (basil, bean sprouts, jalapenos). I first tasted the broth, and it was delicious! The broth at other places often disappointed me. But here at Pho Good, it was very flavorful and delicious. The meat was very tender as well, and noodles were cooked perfectly. I was very pleased with our meal and the warm service. I look forward to returning!

Pho is one of my most favorite meals ever and I am such a regular at another Kansas City Vietnamese restaurant that they know me by name. No seriously I have eaten there an average of 2-6 times a month for the past 7 years. As a recent transplant to JoCo I was excited to find a Vietnamese place near my house! The pho is good, but not the best. The broth is not as flavorful as I would like. The spring rolls and egg rolls are pretty excellent. I hate to be that person that makes a special request at a restaurant and then complains about it, but..... at my favorite pho place I order mine with additional vegetables, and they add broccoli, carrots, mushrooms and cabbage for an additional charge. Delicious! Here when I ask for that, they add broccoli and carrots, but each time they have been severely undercooked - almost raw. It seems as though they throw the veggies on right before they add the broth, whereas the other place definitely cooks them a little bit so they're not so incredibly crunchy. Requesting them to cook them longer is just a bit too much special request for me though, so in the future I'll just order it as it comes. In short, the place is good and I will eat there again! But, I know it could be way better.

So- 5 stars based ONLY on food and service. The ambiance/decor is ridiculous lol. BUT I'm a food gal, so decor matters zero. The egg rolls (crispy) are to die for. And cheap-3.99 I think. I ordered the Bun (sp?) with fried shrimp and egg rolls. HOLY YUM. Dump almost the entire serving of fish sauce into the bowl- and save a small amount for your egg rolls. Splash in some soy sauce and a bit of siracha. The veggies are fresh and crisp, the noodles are perfect. HEAVEN. Enjoy. Service is quick, and personable. I'll definitely be coming back.

Pho Good makes a great bowl of pho, and it's a worthwhile stop for pho lovers. I have a dirty little secret. I cheated on my wife. Not in the traditional way, but I cheated on her heart by eating at Pho Good by myself. I don't regret it, but I'll probably have to bring her along sometime soon. I'd often seen Pho Good off in the little strip mall on the side of Shawnee Mission Parkway and been intrigued by it. Usually, a Vietnamese restaurant will go with a generalized name that indicates its cuisine -- The Orient, Little Saigon, Viet-Nam Cafe. In contrast, Pho Good wears its name on its sleeve, touting not only that it served pho, but also that its pho is "Good". One day I was passing by around lunchtime and I had some time to stop in and see if they were accurately named. They were correct. Much like a Tardis, Pho Good is bigger on the inside. The shop looks small and unassuming in the strip mall, but the inside has walls lined with booths, and several medium and large tables in the middle. I snagged a booth and ordered a bowl of beef pho and a Vietnamese coffee. The pho arrived in a big steaming bowl accompanied by a plate of basil, hot peppers, bean sprouts, and a lime wedge. I shredded the basil leaves, added the beansprouts, squeezed the lime, and added the pepper and went at it. I must say that the broth was great -- very flavorful and rich despite being a clear broth. The pieces of beef were good sized for eating in a single bite, and the noodles capped it all off to make it a great dish. I tried to be as coordinated as I could by managing both the chopsticks and the spoon, but I suppose that to the other diners I probably looked like a hunchback crouched over a bowl of soup, doing his damndest to get noodles and broth to his mouth as quick as possible. I don't care what anyone else thought, I was going full-bore for me. The coffee was also fantastic. It had been a while since I had a Vietnamese coffee, and this was a great return. Tumbler, half-full of sweetened condensed milk, and a small tin pot of strong brewing coffee that slowly drips down into it. They also gave me a tall glass of ice to pour it over, and that made it just about perfect. I might have been a little clumsy in getting all of the elements together, but that sweet strong rush of caffeine, sugar, and milk was just what I needed to cap off a great bowl of pho and to get back out and finish my afternoon. I admitted my restaurant infidelity to my wife, and she forgave me. I might not stray again, but if I do, maybe I'll pick her up a takeout order.

Pretty good pho. It was a little bit on the saltier side but it came with all the expected toppings: bean sprouts, jalapeños, basil, lime. There was a good amount of meat on the combination pho. We also ordered a grilled meat spring roll - this was just okay. Its more of a sausage spring roll. I wasn't too impressed with the meat and it was a bit small. The place is in an empty plaza next to a wig place but you have tons of parking.

New to Pho and Viet food but heard good reviews from other Yelpers and from friends. Pho is like an awesome stew/soup that you can get with different meats veggies and what not. It really is tasty. I haven't gotten anything else here yet but the place is really clean so there aren't any alarm bells going off as far as cleanliness goes. This stuff would be great on a cold day or when hungover. Try it out!

This is the best Vietnamese in town and I've been to all of them. Consistently good service, the best quality ingredients and the best bun dish. I will keep coming back for more.

Seems like a great joint that's overlooked! The food... the springs rolls were possibly the best I've had in KC. The sauce was great, and the spring rolls very soft without too much of that sticky effect you get that starts tearing it apart. The Pho Dac Biet was very good as well, while I think I've had better broth at some other places, the meat content was great and the Pho overall was very good. The service and venue... the service was very attentive. I never had to wait or put in any effort to get their attention. The venue seems like it's large enough to host some decent sized groups, and parking was very easy. Overall... definitely a place for me to check out again when I'm in the neighborhood.

Got me some quick food here a while back when I had a rotation in Kansas City. I still remembered it as the best Asian food I had around town. Staff was friendly and quick. The food came out fast and hot. I'll usually stick with pho at Vietnamese restaurants, but I tried a rice dish this time and was happy I did. Overall, satisfied and would recommend to others for quick and tasty lunch.

I've been here a couple of times and tried various items on the menu, I feel that more people should come here and not just for the pho They could work on the boba tea just a little bit

Had quick lunch yesterday after a 6 hour cross country drive. Spring rolls were above average. Service was fast and the pho was OK. I had the seafood pho and the seafood was a little sparse and broth a little bland. The add ins were OK but I wish it had a little more jalapeno, there was only one slice. I'll go again an try something else next time. Price was right where I expected it.

Family restaurant feel with great Pho. I would love to comment on other menu items but I keep getting the Pho every time.

I don't particularly write reviews but this place deserves a 5 star. We came with a large group of about 60 people and they were able to accommodate us and serve the food quickly and efficiently. The food itself was delicious one of the better pho places I've been too. The reason why I'm writing this review is because of the manager Peter who went out of his way to serve us. He really cares about every customer and really tries to give the best service for his restaurant. We actually came all the way from Texas to visit and we had left a bag there by accident. We called and immediately he sent the bag back to us! We were actually really worried we would lose this bag but he went out of his way to send it to us. We are forever grateful to him. This place is awesome. Come for great food and even better service!

I love me some Vietnamese food and I am glad Pho Good is close by my home. The food is acceptable, not the best but not terrible in my opinion. I would have never found this place without the help of a special online deal service. Pho Good has a large dining room with an ample amount of tables. I have never seen this place more than half filled so if you're looking for a fast, sit down restaurant and craving some Vietnamese, this is the place to go. Service is okay as well, at times they are very attentive and other times, I have experienced that they are not so much. Now as far as the food goes, there are a few dishes that I absolutely love and there are some that are forgettable. The fried sweet potatoes and shrimp are quite good. I tend to order this dish at many Vietnamese places and Pho Good has to be my favorite. The sweet potatoes and shrimp aren't over battered and very tasty. The spring rolls are forgettable for me. The ratio of vermicelli, vegetables, and meat aren't just there for me. The pho, which is supposed to be the star of Vietnamese restaurants, is just OK for me. It doesn't have the flavor that keeps me eating more and more. The vermicelli with grilled shrimp and egg rolls is my favorite dish here. The shrimp is grilled and seasoned very well. It is topped with peanuts and dried garlic. It can easily be eaten the way it is given but pour the fish sauce in the bowl and you have a winner. The dish is also huge! The bubble tea is OK as it is a bit too sweet for me. I also found the tapioca pearls to be a little hard, which tells me that it's probably been sitting out for a while. Pho Good is indeed, good. It's a quick and reliable Vietnamese restaurant.

My all time favorite spot for some good pho! We drove 2 hours from JC just to eat here and it was so worth it! And my, oh my, did that Shrimp Fried Rice hit right in the spot! My Vietnamese cravings was satisfied.

Yum yum yum! I got the spring rolls for take out because I read so many reviews that were raving about them. $3.25 and they are quick! I walked in and was out in 3 minutes. I did come during lunch so I'm sure they had prepared them for the lunch hour. Anyway they were very good and fresh! The peanut sauce is delightful! My only comment is that I've had some of these before that had cilantro in them as well and they were to die for! I wonder if I could bring my own... :)

Pho Good just keeps getting better and better, and I had the best experience yet today! We went at about 3pm on Sunday, and most of the booths were full. Extremely prompt, attentive service and we were even in and out in 30 minutes. I always order the Bun Chay(#207) w/o fish sauce, and if you ask they will make you a vegetarian alternative that is delicious! All the veggies were fresh and crisp, tofu and noodles cooked perfectly. I drive from Lawrence for this!

We had a Groupon to try this place out and having not really eaten much Vietnamese food we decided it would be fun to explore. The place was basically empty when we arrived so naturally we were seated right away. I have some dietary restrictions (gluten free) and after reading online abou the content of Vietnamese food, etc, I figured I would mostly be safe. I started investigating the menu and my boyfriend immediately found what he wanted (Vietnamese curry chicken) while I bumbled around for a bit. I finally settled on a chicken dish with vermicelli (little baby rice noodles) and asked the server what the ingredients were in the sauce on the chicken. She had a hard time understanding and called the chef out who said there was hoisin and soy sauce in the mix. Well, couldn't have that because of my GF status so I mentioned this and chef very sweetly said he would make me the dish without the sauce. I got a bit nervous that this would lead to a very dry dish but thankfully it didn't because they gave me a little tiny pitcher filled with fish sauce to use. All in all, both of our dishes as well as the summer rolls to start were tasty. Everything also came out incredibly quickly, it couldn't have been more than five minutes. In general, I give this place three stars probably because of the language/allergy barrier and the general lack luster, though clean, ambiance. The music was also fairly distracting and my boyfriend and I broke out into laughter multiple times amid our dinner. Still, for the price and quality of the food, not a bad option.

The dipping sauce and spring rolls are great! I did have pho, but chose the Vietnamese pork instead. Let me tell you, a fried egg on top of white rice with whatever spicy/sweet sauce they have is a winning combination. The only thing keeping them from five stars is the atmosphere was a little strange, but you can kind of expect that from little, hole-in-the-wall places. Give them a chance and you'll come away full.

Oddly enough, my favorite Vietnamese restaurant for their spring rolls. They stuff their rolls with noodles, shrimp, bean sprouts, and basil. Their peanut sauce is crunchy, thinner than most, and flavorful. We only dine here when we purchase a groupon, so it's a great deal, since we spend 15$ for two gigantic bowls of pho, and two orders of spring rolls. The broth tasted good, but was a bit off. The best way to describe it is that it tasted like the instant pho broth cubes. We were regular bi weekly patrons until a friend of mind told me she saw a waiter drop a spring roll on the floor, then put it back on a plate and served it. ..We don't go anymore.

5/26/2015 I don't typically give out 5 stars but have to for Pho Good. Had the lemongrass tofu, spring rolls and a coffee bubble tea. On my, this place is delicious. Very cheap prices too.

This place is AWESOME! If a 6 star rating were possible I would give it to them! My girlfriend really enjoys the vermicelli dishes, and while I enjoy them as well it's just to hard to pass up the pho! I'm originally from the west coast where our Asian food selection is usually of high quality I would say that Pho Good is on par with any of the pho places I have been too! Everything is perfectly cooked and all the ingredients are super fresh which you can tell in their final product. If it's a chilly day or I'm under the weather or if it's a Tuesday nothing sounds better than a bowl of Pho Good's pho! People who are running it are nice enough and service is prompt. The decor I could take or leave but it in no way effects the food! If your in the area I would highly recommend you stop in!

Service was REAL awkward from the moment my friend and I walked in to the moment we left. Yeah, you could see us park but don't wait by the door prepping to pounce on us, then try seating us to the closest table by the entrance. The moment we sat down, they asked us if we were ready to order? Give us some time to social with one another. My friend and I were the only customers in the restaurant so why the rush?! Especially at 7:30pm on a Monday night?! Then literally every minute they kept swinging by asking if we were ready. It was clear I was trying to explain the menu to my friend who's unfamiliar with Vietnamese food. Waiting by our table maybe twelve feet away doesn't help either!! My food was okay. Ordered Spring Rolls as an appetizer with our drinks, because we felt rushed. It was clear the Rolls weren't made to order. For my entree, I ordered the Bun Thit Nuong (picture posted). Honestly not as flavorful as other places around. Personally believe the drive to KCMO is definitely worth more than convenience of the location here.

  • Keanon L.

I used a Groupon for this spot recently and was satisfied. The restaurant was clean. Service was fast and polite, if not maybe a little impersonal. The nem nuong rolls were a really nice alternative to the ubiquitous spring rolls you see at all Vietnamese restaurants. I skipped the pho, my general go-to order at VN spots, and went with the bun bo hue. I was really impressed. The spectrum of taste you get in bun bo hue is so wide here in the area. Saigon 39 is watery and sparse on the meat selection in it. VN Cafe on 39th can be TOO flavorful with its heavy use of shrimp paste. This was a perfect middle-ground. Highly recommended to the more adventurous eaters, as it came with tendons, shrimp paste, and cha lua ham, all very strong in flavor and pretty authentic. I can't give a 4th star until I try this spot again for dinner to see how the service differs and to hand down a ruling on the almighty pho, but I will say for certain that the place is worth re-visiting for the two items I had.

The eggrolls are very good. Nice flavor with a good balance between the meat and veggies. The fish sauce is amazing. Just the right amount of spice. The Pho is very flavorful and filling. We stop by here whenever we get a chance.

I met my friend here for lunch and there were a handful of people around noon, but it wasn't busy. I could barely hear our waitress because she spoke so softly. I found myself leaning forward to hear what she was saying. We ordered spring rolls ($2.99) and egg rolls ($2.99). I ordered #9 Pho Bo Tai ($7.99) and my friend ordered #8 Pho Good Dac Biet ($8.99). It was a few minutes before our spring and egg rolls came to our table. They didn't give us any plates and I thought they were going to bring them after. My friend and I decided to just eat. The spring roll with the peanut sauce was okay and was pretty much any other spring roll I ate in the past. The egg rolls were good. My Pho Bo Tai was good to me and the broth had flavor. The portion was just right to fill me up. I'd say the pho tasted similar to Pho Hoa... at least to me. Come try this place out! I'll probably be back to try other food on the menu.

The pho here is actually "Good." The broth has tons of flavors; I might say too much flavor, which is due to the heavy usage of cinnamon and roasted star anise (just cut back by 10% and the broth should be perfect). There isn't much to choose from on the Kansas side of Kansas City, so Pho Good is as "Good" as it gets in the area. This place has new management and has the potential of being great. I encourage Yelpers to give this place a shot. Enjoy.

I think the food here was good. I will have to go back and try again to really see what i think. I asked for extra noodles in bun dish and it didnt seem like they did. Also added shrimp and it was well done and not to my liking. The staff was friendly and the place was clean.

My first at this little restaurant. Quite honestly, i was impressed by their beef pho and good service. I'm coming back to try more items from their menu. Only thing lacking on the Pho is the typical meatballs included in other Pho I've tried at other places. Still I like this joint I definitely return.

We were pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant. I had the shrimp vermicelli, and the sauce they give you to pour over it was amazing. It was tangy, and spicy. My husband got a soup with beef in it. I wasn't a fan when I tried it because they use cardamom and it almost tasted like it had cinnamon too. He really enjoyed it though, and the beef was super tender. The meat spring rolls we got were delicious too. I've never liked spring rolls, but these had noodles and meat and were very good.

Pho Good is me and my house-mates favorite place to go together when we're really, really hungry. The portion sizes are HUGE and we always buy the Groupon which results in us getting all sorts of food to take home. The Pho is always so warm and tasty and we never finish a dinner without ordering the coffee. I came here once when I was sick and the soup helped soothe my throat. I've also come here with a clean bill of health and the food was still delicious and flavorful. The service is always prompt and you will never leave hungry, guaranteed.

Meh... My wife and I had been talking about phô and how long it had been since we had it. Surprisingly I found a groupon for Vietnamese cuisine. And look! It's near our house! The location was easy to find. The lot is well lit and had plenty of parking. It's next to a wig store and there was a few tumbleweaves in the parking lot so it's no surprise that another yelper found hair in her soup. The store was very clean and the staff were friendly. This evening was moderately busy so their attention was a little thin. We ordered two different dishes but I can't tell you what they were. We added fresh vegetables to them believing they would add needed flavor. Unfortunately the broths were so bland that the veggies and even chili sauce couldn't improve the flavor. The Vietnamese coffee was delicious and I would definitely return for that. There was a sign near the register that read, " no MSG". Needless to say, I was very shocked that later the owners would post on the phô good Facebook page that their dishes do in fact include "a little MSG". It was nice of them to "apologize for the inconvenience this may cause." They apologized so that makes it okay, right? Meh.

I have a limited knowledge of Vietnamese food, but the kid likes pho, so we make the occasional trip to get some. Since I'm not a big fan of pho, take my review with a grain of salt. In the JO, I've had Pho Vietnam, Cafe Vie, and Pho Good. I think Pho Good's pho is the best of the three. My son thinks Pho Vietnam is just as good, if not better. I've had their grilled meat rolls, which were good, but I couldn't identify what kind of meat it was. Seemed similar to Spam, which I'm a huge fan of; however, I'm not sure I'd get the rolls again. I'll stick to their spring rolls; they're standard and good. Though I've had other items from their menu, they're not coming to memory. Their bubble tea was disappointing because the tapioca balls were all stuck to each other in one huge clump. This tends to happen with bubble tea 'round these parts, but this was by far the worst. If the kid asks for pho again, this would probably be my first choice, even if it is farther away than the others in the JO. Service is friendly and the joint is clean.

Average food and price although very good service. After two dinner experiences I felt like quantity over quality is the approach from the kitchen. I would go again with the expectation of a good but not a great meal.

I've been a repeat customer for Pho Good despite how far away it is. I'm in love with the spring rolls which are crisp, cool, and delicious. The peanut sauce that accompanies it is to die for. I usually expect peanut butter sauce since thats what most places serve, but this has such a great flavor and its delicious! Their boba (bubble tea) drinks are amazing and well made. I usually get the vegetarian pho, as most other pho places make me wary of their weird tasting steak, but last night I got the vegetarian with sirloin steak slices and it was delicious! Vibrant juicy steak slices, crisp veggies, well cooked tofu, cooked to perfection noodles, and a heavenly broth. Truly delicious! The ambiance is okay and the customer service needs some help, so please bear that in mind. The food speaks loudly and that is why this place gets a 5 star rating!

I loved this place. I work nearby and I really enjoyed my Pho. I am a chicken Pho freak and slurped mine down without remorse. I also enjoyed the spring roll appetizer for $2.99. Spring Rolls cost so much more at other joints, so I'm going to be going back for more of those. I ordered a Bubble Tea as well and it was delicious. I enjoyed the Bubble Tea here at Pho Good more than Sushi Mido's Bubble Tea. Sushi Mido's Bubble Tea is really good, but Pho Good's Bubble Tea is really great. The service was incredible. The staff were friendly and had such positive energy. They were singing quietly, smiling, and just plain nice. The atmosphere is bright and plain, but the food makes up for the decor. I was full but not miserable. My tummy was happy and I felt good about what I ate. It is a huge portion and I thought it was well worth the price ($7.99 - $8.99). It was healthy and yummy. The broth wasn't mind-blowing, but I sucked down every bit of it. I will definitely be back.

I have gotten phó here almost weekly since it opened. It's constantly improving. It is so nice having a good phó close to home. They could use more tv's for those who enjoy watching a game while eating. Service is great and very fast. A bunch of phó restaurants have greasy broth but here is almost perfect.

I got the tofu spring rolls. They were cold, and the rice paper had an odd texture to it. The sauce was lukewarm as well. My friend got the boba and it wasn't mixed well. It had chunks of ice. She got the mango kind and it was way too sugary. I would not recommend and wouldn't go back.

Pho Good in Shawnee is a welcome addition to our options for dining out in Shawnee. Their atmosphere is pleasant, clean and appealing. Their wait staff courteous and friendly. The Pho is delicious! Owner takes time to come to tables and say hello, nice touch! Keep up the great job!

Restaurant is new and very clean. Windows side has good sunshine amount which I like. Food, I only had Beef Pho. Sigh, what can I say. The pho soup tasted artificial. I felt it was not brewed from real beef bone soup at all. Good thing is, it doesn't have that layer of fat beef oil on top. Their pho soup base is somehow very clear and light. (If you like light, clear type of soup, their pho will suit you well.) Food portion wise is generous, and I like the generous tendon portion they give. But, you know, I am here for authentic pho. I do expect much more out of it. Service was good, polite, prompt, and attentive. I wish I can give 4 for their cleanness and good service, but the food is just okay. I wish they can master their pho better.

What a Phô king joke. I'm here visiting from Los Angeles and I found a Groupon for this place. The food was pretty good but they swindled me with the groupon. It offered $12 for $25 worth or $15 for $30 so I bought the 15 for 30. First thing I told the waitress when I walked in was that I hade a groupon. She told me no prob and I ordered, ate, and enjoyed my food. When I presented the groupon she said I bought two $15 dollar not a $30 so it was invalid. When I talked to the manager he told me basically sorry can't help you.

They should really rename their establishment to just 'PHO' because it sure isn't 'PHO GOOD'. Had the pho and it was BLAND, service wasn't the greatest and I get it, most asian restaurants don't have great service but geez, make sure your good food can back it up. not this place. next pho restaurant please.

This place is a groupon scam. They r never happy whenever someone goes there with groupon. and I've only been there twice before. This time, I took a family friend with us letting them know that this place is good enough for cheap pho. The food was ok, I've tasted better pho elsewhere but this wouldn't be good if I had to pay full price. We ate and when the time came for check, I presented my groupon and my friend did his. The owner told us that he couldn't accept 2 groupons together as we sat together. He was suggesting us if we had sat separate, he could have accepted it. In fact, we ordered $15.00 worth more good that we needed just because we had to reach over $60 to claim groupon. What a stupid money making scam. He would not budge so I ended up paying $50.00 more for both of us. I got upset so I did not leave tips, he was complaining about that too. Btw, the groupon purchase made was for 2 instead of 1 bit both is us. It takes $30 instead of $15.00 at purchase. This is a groupon scam place. I would not recommend anyone go there with groupon. Everytime I've been there, I've always been only customer... Wonder why????

We love the Pho and vermicelli. Shrimp and sweet potato appetizer has a nice sauce. Been many times. For food I vote 4.5 stars on good days. Some newer servers need more training. Getting their help felt like serving yourself. Using a Groupon happened to be the time the food and service begged enthusiasm. We left disappointed.

I've never had pho or vietnamese before so was excited to try this place. but will not bother going back. I couldn't eat the Pho. I'm not sure if that is what it is supposed to taste like, but it tasted a little bit flowery or chemically. We had the shrimp tempura appetizer and loved it. should have stopped there. I wanted to try one of their special drinks, but they didn't have any. Already limited menu becomes more limited when you don't have the stuff on it. As another person said "All their silverware is out on the table, I am NOT a fan of this for Germ reasons." Ew that's gross. I don't want someone sneezing all over silverware that I'll be using later. GRODY.

Pho! Can I get some more? Well, if it was all about the product, Pho Good would have it all, but it is also about convenience and the overall comfort factor for me. This place is near my route home from work, so it could become a routine stop, but at this point, it won't. After reading lots of reviews, I finally decided to try it out. I walked into an empty dining room that resembles a senior citizens' buffet dining room. Yuck. Oh well, I just want carryout. A smiling lady approached me with a big plastic menu to seat me. I said, "Hi! I would like to see a carryout menu, please. I will not be staying to eat." She nodded and handed me the fancy menu and tried to seat me anyway. Obviously, a language barrier kept me from the stack of photocopied takeout menus I saw stacked by the register. Oh well. I sat and looked at the menu, picked out what I wanted, and pointed, emphasizing again that I wanted it to go. I sat awkwardly at the big dining table while I waited. About ten minutes later, someone yelled, and when I turned to look, I realized it was at me to let me know my order was ready. The whole experience was just uncomfortable. I don't mean for any of this to be offensive, as I frequent several ethnic restaurants for takeout, but I feel like other places bend over backwards to let me know I am welcome, and I can always overcome a language barrier. (I teach ELL students!!) Not here. It was downright awkward. It would benefit them to hire someone a little more communicative to deal with customers. Or maybe I dropped by on an off day. Also, as NO ONE was eating in the dining room around dinner time, they may as well save money on rent and get a smaller place! For now, I leave it at three stars for the phenomenal pho. I will return, apprehensively. I want more pho. And I want to try the bun.

Yum! Pho chay (vegetarian) is delish! The broth is nice and flavorful, which is just what I needed. Traveled to area from NYC on business and ate here two nights in a row!

So, I'm always on a quest for great spring rolls and Pho. I loved their spring rolls. They were very fresh and just the right amount of mint. Here are my criteria for a great Pho. Nice big bowl of savory broth, good amount of authentic meat cuts (Steak, tripe, tendon, meat balls - I usually ask to remove the brisket) and not a skimpy platter of bean sprouts, Thai basil and cilantro! While the Pho met almost all the criteria (no tripe in this restaurant), the broth was a-ok. For me, it was sort of bland and was lacking in the aroma and taste of spices they put in the soup. The location is great, the people were awesome and very accommodating and the place is nice and clean. Will I drive a long way to have the pho? Perhaps not. Will I eat again if I am the area and in the mood for some. Sure I will.

I wanted to give this place a second chance since I was craving pho on a cool summer day. I was not disappointed. The broth has definitely improved since the last time I was here.

I had the pho with sirloin, meatballs, and beef tendon. It came out with a plate piled high with mung bean sprouts, Thai basil, cilantro, and sliced jalapeños. I threw the whole veggie plate in with a good shot of fish sauce and saracha to boot (I love fish sauce!). The flavor was completely awesome. Now for the bad part. The sirloin was very chewy and what is up with the meatballs? They were incredibly chewy and rubbery. I guarantee they would have bounced to the ceiling if I would have thrown one down on the table. Plus they had bits of chewy cartilage embedded in them. It was disgusting to the point where I almost gagged and had to spit the last one out into my napkin. If you think I am squeamish about weird food textures, think again. I finally found the beef tendon in the bottom of the bowl and enjoyed every gelatinous lip coating slimy bite. That part was really good. I got a to-go carton and carefully poured off the awesome broth; leaving the disgusting meatballs behind. The next day I boiled some noodles and ate them with the broth. Maybe next time I will stop by and get a quart of broth to go.

This is almost a 4-star for me, but there is a little missing. We come here because it is relatively close to us in Overland Park, vs. going to Viet Nam Cafe or the other restaurants in KC, MO. We've been here 3 times. The first because of a groupon, and the others because we enjoyed our experience the first time. The Pho here is good; can't say it's the best but it hits the spot on a cold day. The soft spring rolls and dipping sauce are really good. The bun here is "okay." Bun is usually my favorite dish, but there's isn't as flavorful as I've had in the past and the beef was too chewy for me (almost jerky-like). The service has improved over our visits. The servers and owner (I'm guessing) are quite nice and attentive. The prices are also fair. In short, it's a place to come if you live nearby and want Vietnamese food. However, not sure if I'd recommend others to make the trek from other areas in the city to come here.

After looking at the Yelp reviews, a co-worker and I decided to give this place a try. I was excited about the prospect of finding a decent Banh Mi in Johnson County, but it turns out it's not just an "off the menu item" as detailed in another review--according to the waitress, it doesn't exist at all. I was a little disappointed that they did not carry honeydew flavored boba tea, but even more-so that they were out flavors they did carry. For an appetizer, I ordered the spring rolls (#2) with peanut dipping sauce. The rice noodles contained within were a bit thicker than you would normally find, but overall they were above average, as was the peanut sauce. Next came the #8, a giant bowl of pho, with a side of basil, cilantro, jalapenos, bean sprouts, and a lime wedge. The broth was tasty with just a hint of spice, the vegetables were fresh, and the meat was thinly sliced and relatively tender. There's better Pho to be had in KC, I'm almost certain. It wasn't mind-blowing, but it was warm, tasty and filling on a relatively cold day.

The selling point for me was the Vermicelli and Pork. I have to say this place opened me up to noodle dishes. The spring rolls are excellent and the broth isn't half bad though there are better places for it. Filling and at a great price.

It was my first time to this place and we got seated right away, the waitress took our order and it came pretty fast since there was nobody else but us. I ordered a beef meat ball pho and was extremely disappointed. It was a big bowl of broth, a few pieces of cut meat balls and maybe a handful of rice noodle with some cilantro stem (no leaves) floating on top. I mean A $7.99 bowl of pho is only that? And on top of that, the pho tastes so bland, I think they should change the name of restaurant. I still gave this place 2 stars because my friend had grilled pork vermicelli and it was okay

My first time eating here last Sunday. At first I was reluctant after reading two of the reviews regarding a foul smell. Well...thank God I went in spite of the reviews & took the recommendation of a friend who has eaten there. I ordered Pho soup #8 tasted the same as the Vietnamese Cafe although they could add more fresh veggies & herbs with it. We also ordered fried sweet potatoes with shrimp, it tasted better than what I had before at VC. The fried egg rolls was disappointing, it lacked the crunch of what an egg roll should be probably because it was cooked way ahead instead of cooking it right there & then. Overall the food & atmosphere is good. Geographically, I love the fact I don't need to drive all the way to downtown to have a Vietnamese food. One thing I do want to point out though, there was no foul smell inside the restaurant while we were there. The only smell however, was the aroma of the food being prepared in the kitchen & brought out of the kitchen. This place is now one of my favorite Asian restaurant in KC. .

I should probably preface this review by saying I've never had Pho before I came here. I've been wanting to try it for some time but haven't ever found a place or time to do it. I ordered 2 spring rolls, Pho with beef, and a diet coke. The spring rolls were heavenly, with fresh crunchy veggies and 3 decent size shrimp per roll. They were complimented beautifully with the peanut sauce. Up next was the Pho. Not knowing what the difference between good pho and bad pho was I just relied on my palate to guide me. I felt that it lacked seasoning because it wasn't full of flavor like the peanut sauce for the spring rolls was. Luckily, they had fish sauce, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sriracha, salt, and pepper available. So I added a bit of hoisin, sriracha, and fish sauce to "beef up" the broth a bit. My bill was $13 for the meal, not too bad. Overall I enjoyed my new experience and will most likely be back here, but only after I try Pho somewhere else as well.

Oh my. I had seen this place off SM Pkwy and was just waiting for it to open since I'm a huge Vietnamese food fan. My hubby and I drove past it earlier this week and saw a huge sign saying they were open. Woo hoo! We literally rushed right in to get a taste of this new place and were so very disappointed. We entered and were seated immediately and provided menus, but during this time, I kept noticing a foul smell in the air, kind of like a mixture of poop and sewer gas. Yuck. My husband thought perhaps we should just order carry out so we could eat without the smell of feces, but I completely lost my appetite and was concerned about the safety of the food, so we left without ordering anything. Also, there was a sign on the front door saying there was no public restroom available which made me think that perhaps they had some major plumbing issues which is not good news for the safety of the food in a restaurant. From glancing at their menu, it's fairly standard Vietnamese American restaurant fare and a pretty small menu, so we probably wouldn't return even if the overwhelming fecal aroma goes away. Also, they have their televisions turned up far too loud. I don't go to a restaurant to watch TV. Heck, I don't even watch it at home!

If I could make this review 3.5 stars I would The FOOD WAS GOOD. I would recommend going here. Details below. I was seriously worried after reading the reviews, but we had a groupon and went anyway. DECOR-stop with the haters! it was fine. SMELL-it was fine! SERVICE: yes it was slow, but we don't usually go out to dinner to make it "fast". We like sitting, talking, eating a meal together, so the slow was not an issue. If you're on your way to a movie or have screaming hungry people with you, then I would hit a Chili's or something that can whip you in and out. FOOD: We had spring rolls- they were huge! Husband got the Vietnamese Coffee-very strong good coffee. I got a Bubble tea thing-they were out of the flavor I ordered so switched-very fruity- not my thing. Husband got Pho-which he really liked(He used to eat Pho at Vietnamese restaurants in LA and was happy with it) I've never had Vietnamese so it was hard to decide what to order. I got Bun with shrimp and it was very good. It was a cold rainy day and the flavors, textures and warmth were the perfect compliment.

Perhaps my first visit to Pho Good was simple but I was impressed. I didn't order a large meal but I'm a regular to Vietnam Cafe near the City Market, which is my favorite, so they set the curve in regards to my review here. I had Pho Tai with my beef on the side and spring rolls. The spring rolls and peanut sauce was great...very tasty. The pho was also very good and the only adjustment I had to make in comparison to my usual experience was adding some fish sauce. I didn't mind doing this and would rather have needed to add some than there being too much when it was served to me. The meat was tender, the veggies fresh and a good portion of noodles. The service was prompt and courteous. I'm not a stickler on decor since some of the worst looking dives serve the best food so that was not on my mind, however I will say the restaurant was clean, well lit with all the appropriate condiments and accessories on the tables. My friend also order a combination Banh Mi sandwich to go and told me the bread was fresh and just right and overall had great flavor. I enjoy supporting local businesses and I will definitely return. If they continue to provide the quality of service and food then I may update my review to 5 stars!

The Pho was bland and there was a piece of hair in our spring roll. We asked them to give us a new spring roll and when they returned it looked like all they did was pick the piece of hair out of it. Don't eat here.

It's Pho Okay, not Pho Great or Pho Good. But the Bun is one of the better ones in the area. We have been to place at least 1/2 dozen times. Prompt and attentive service. Good quality food. It's just the Vietnamese TV is turned up too loud. Updated 3/19/2015 I went for a run on Saturday and it was only 930 AM and I wanted some Pho. After checking Yelp, which says they're open. I decided to call to make sure. When I showed up, I realized the owner was the only one there. He gladly served me at 10AM! The soup has dramatically improved from when I first reviewed it. Good Pho indeed. Or Pho Good!

I've tried most if not all of the pho places in the KC metro and Pho Good is definitely alright. I'm a huge fan of their broth (I don't like the sweetness of Vietnam Cafe's broth) however I wish the meat portions were a bit larger for a large bowl of Pho Tai Gan. The egg rolls were pretty good, too. Lots of meat and a good crunch. All in all, I'll be hitting this place up frequently, mostly because it's the closest one to my house that has a good broth.

We bought a Groupon because it's just a couple of miles from an awesome bike trail. When we walked in the door, we were greeted happily by an employee who was leaving but it took no time at all for another to seat us by a waterfall display. The restaurant atmosphere over all was very bland. Our server was a bit disconnected but that could have been because of the language barrier. The food was truly fresh and very satisfying! We were delightfully surprised! I chose pork which is also known as "meat" on the menu. My husband enjoyed a grilled shrimp bowl. We both chose noodles. My gosh our food was GREAT! We'll definitely go back! In fact, I'm going to check Groupon right now. :)

The lack of service is my number one complaint. We had to wait for everything, to be seated ( while staff goofed off behind the bar counter ), to get our order taken, then a long wait for food, no refills on water until the bill came ( after we had been done for about 5mins ), and then for them to run my CC. As for the food it wasn't bad, nothing special though. My wife got the Pho which was big and pretty tasty. I ordered the bun combo which had lots of meat and could have been good if the noodles had actually been hot. Overall the food was average for Vietnamese, and below average for service.

I'm glad they finally put a huge sign up saying they're NOW OPEN! The decor was nice. It was dead silence in there so they could've had their TVs on or some music. Our waitresses were on point. They didn't have any Coke which was disappointing to my husband. They ran out? She just said they didn't have any. All their silverware is out on the table, I am NOT a fan of this for Germ reasons. I think they need to just give silverware out to customers as they come in or wrap them up in napkins. They have a limited menu. We tried a few dishes. 2 Different types of Spring Rolls - Both good but they need to work on the wrapping!!! They left both ends open with a ton of cilantro & lettuce sticking out which was a little difficult to eat around. They NEED TO WRAP UP THE ENDS!! That's traditional... just saying. The Shrimp Spring Rolls typically come with pork but they used Vietnamese Bologna which was ok. If they used PORK it would be PERFECT! The Beef Spring Roll was also good. The Peanut Sauce was A LOT BETTER then most places we go to and that's saying a lot because I'm very picky about my Peanut Sauce. It didn't taste like straight peanut butter. It taste like actual AUTHENTIC ASIAN peanut sauce. It was a little runny though. Meatball/Sirloin/Flank Pho - It was good. Could've used a little more noodles for the size bowl they had for a Regular. The meat could've been cut down a little bit. The slices were almost the size of my hand. The broth flavor was good. It's not Vietnam Cafe good but it was still good. Way better then Pho 2 in Olathe. This place had flavor unlike Pho 2. Beef/Eggroll Bun - Was good. If you can't get this right then you don't need to have a restaurant. They used the same beef that was in the spring roll. They need to work on their noodle/veggie ratio though. I had more veggies then noodles. Overall we would go back again because it's close to home especially on those nights I'm craving Pho or don't want to cook and don't want to drive down town. They do take out which is even better! No more drives down town for take out that's cold by the time we get home. We'll try some other dishes and update!

I've been here twice and wasn't very impressed either time. I've had two appetizers, the "meat" rolls (which are actually shrimp rolls) and the tempura shrimp . The shrimp rolls with the peanut sauce was the best thing I've eaten at this place. The tempura shrimp was bland and not very good. It was more like just typical fried shrimp and didn't seem to be a tempura batter at all, it was a really heavy breading. I had the fish ball, imitation crab meat, squid, and shrimp pho bowl with noodles. It was alright. Next I had a beef pho bowl with meatballs, sirloin strips and tripe I think it was, I'm not sure because there was a typo on the menu that said "stripe". This dish was brought out to me 2 minutes after I ordered it, so obviously all the meat was precooked and it showed. Besides being cooked way before I ordered it, the meat in the soup was really bland. This place isn't bad food, it's just not good. I have no reason to go back. Every person within ear shot at this place was using a Groupon coupon and I think that says something about this place. I hate giving local eateries bad reviews but I gave them a chance. edit: I forgot to mention that the waiter never refilled my water on the second visit. And on the first visit the waitress didn't even ask me what I wanted to drink, she just brought me a water.

Don't let the reviews that are reflective of the sewage smell scare you away. The problem has been addressed as I have been back a dozen times and there has been no sewage smell at all. In fact, I would say that the restaurant is much cleaner than most Vietnamese restaurants I have been to. The service is very friendly and quick as well. And the food is fantastic. I have sampled at least 7 Vietnamese restaurants in the Kansas City area, and I am most pleased with the overall experience here. I am particularly fond of Bun (rice vermicelli) dishes and theirs does not disappoint. The portion is sizable and has a considerable portion of meat. The vegetables are all very fresh and crisp and the noodles are cooked properly. My favorite is the combination bun (item 21) with the addition of an egg-roll (my enhancement). I am also very impressed with their spring rolls, which I think are the best I've had. They have two different types, the usual shrimp as well as a pork variety. I prefer the shrimp one but the pork spring roll has a nice tender slice of barbecued pork which is nice for a change sometimes. Admittedly, I'm such a nut for Bun that I seldom want to stray away and get other dishes. I order the Beef Pho once and found the broth and ingredients very good, but then again I am not the best judge of Pho. I did find the broth more flavorful than the handful of times I have had it at other locations in town. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant, plus it is nice to have a good Vietnamese restaurant further south than the rest. Cheers

I love love love Vietnamese food. Seriously. And this place is definitely not bad. I've been here several times and the people have always been pretty okay towards me. I LOVE their lemongrass beef (it's not on the menu but you can request it) and their pho is pretty good too. I once met the owner who is a very juice and pleasant man. Sure the servers are awkward as heck, but hopefully they will learn. Give people a chance guys. Overall a good alternative (the only one in the area really) to going all the way downtown to eat at Vietnam cafe. Give it a shot.

Eating at this restaurant (pho to be specific) is like playing Russian Roulette. Some days it would be not bad, some days it would make you question your where-to-eat decision making process. The service is endurable. Don't expect anyone working at the restaurant go out of their way to make your experience pleasant one. Their price is comparable to other Vietnamese restaurant.

Their coconut fried shrimp appetizer was delicious! I could have eaten 10 of em. The Pho Beef (vermicelli noodles with lemongrass steak) was okay, but it doesn't come close to Vietnam Cafe's.

Pretty good pho! Happened to be in the area and I think they had recently opened. I got the normal service when I go get a nice bowl of pho; what do you want? here's how much you owe. But it was good surprisingly for the location

Went for the first time this week. Very clean restaurant and great food. Service was very attentive but not overbearing. The pho was piping hot when it came out and the egg rolls were delicious. I was suffering from allergies so I didn't get the "full taste" of the food, but what I did taste was very good. I did notice that the waitress brought over some extra hot sauce and spices with her meal (I assumed she got the pho, as well) but I did not get the same spice rack. I didn't need it but was curious as to why I didn't get it, too. Meh!! :( Overall, it is a great place to get some pho when you're having a craving. I ordered vermicelli with grilled pork and egg roll to go and it was great reheated that evening. I would go back for sure.

I go to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants, and none compares to my mom's cooking. But this place is close. We had eggrolls and spring rolls for appetizers, and both were great, full of meat and not just stuffed with wilted vegetables like some places. The pho is good, flavorful and not too sweet. Bun bo hue is good, and the grilled pork with vermicelli is excellent. Soy milk was fresh too. No complaints about the meal at all. The service was excellent, and the decor is clean and simple. Pho Good is pretty good and completely exceeded my expectations.

This is the best Vietnamese on this Kansas side. We eat here at least once a week. The pho is quite good. My wife is Vietnamese and she loves it. It is more northern style as it is not too sweet like in the south. I have had the spring rolls with rice wraps and these are some of the best you can get in a restaurant. I order them with fish sauce as the dipping sauce instead of the peanut sauce. Try the grilled meat ones also! Their egg rolls are fantastic, very authentic Vietnamese egg rolls. We have ordered their banh mi, it is an off the menu special that is like a Vietnamese Hoggie. Tons of meat, great bread. A different style then most places but very good. My Vietnamese Mother-in-law was impressed. I see people eat these at lunch. The bun bo hue is pretty good also. A little spicy beef noodle broth with some pork too. We recently ordered their tameran soup off the Dinner for 2 menu. We just special requested it. Fresh shrimp with tomatoes and elephant ear. Very spicy, I think we would ask for it without the peppers next time, but very homey. Their dinners for groups seems like a steal, a lot off food for 20 bucks. It is very authentic though, like eating at someones house. A lot of the bad reviews seem to be written by non Vietnamese people. I think it is just knowing what to order off of their menu, it can be confusing and I don't think know what dishes non Vietnamese people will like. Overall, it beats driving 30 mins for the same food in downtown KC!

Place smells as if they have pluming issues with their bathroom. The musty smell is noticeable right when you walk in, which is usually a bad sign in any restaurant. Looks clean, but not my kind of place. But my husband insisted that we give it a try, since we were already there, and very hungry. The food is not good at all. We're never going back again. Yelp should seriously make an option for zero stars.

I've eaten here a couple times now. I haven't noticed any of the odor issues described by others, so it appears they have that taken care of. They were closed Wednesday and appeared to be doing some construction. My first visit, I had the beef pho and spring rolls. The spring rolls were properly wrapped and were delicious... everything tasted very fresh. The peanut sauce had a nice flavor and consistency... not too sweet. The Pho was delicious... the broth was just right. My only complaint (as noted by another reviewer) was that the amount of meat received in a large order seemed a bit lacking, especially compared to Vietnam Cafe. Would have liked a few more sprouts as well. They are very generous with the herbs, however, which I appreciate greatly. On my second visit, I was disappointed to see that Bahn Mi (sandwiches) were no longer on the menu. The owner assured me they had one as a special, so I just ordered that. My bahn mi standard is pretty high... I ate them nonstop on a trip to San Francisco once where I swear they were up there on the list of most perfect foods. While this sandwich fell a bit short of that standard, it wasn't by much. The bread was perfection, the variety of meats interesting and of top quality, and the veggies were those of a traditional bahn mi... cucumber, carrots, jalapenos, etc. There was a flavor element missing that I couldn't quite put my finger on, but it just didn't matter. This might just have been the best sandwich I've eaten in KC and was definitely on my top 5 list of favorite sandwiches ever. Is the decor the best? No. It's in a JoCo strip mall... I don't expect it to be. The service could definitely use some work... There was redheaded female server on my first visit who was a real gem and even though I was just getting carryout really went out of her way. The other younger servers, who I think may have been family members of the owners, were clearly bored and irritated about being there, and weren't afraid to make it known to the patrons. Hopefully, that will be remedied soon, as this place definitely deserves to make it, what with the quality of food they are putting out. Definitely towards the top of the list of Vietnamese places in the city in terms of quality of food!

I was on my way to Pine and Bamboo Garden but was excited to discover Pho Good nearby. However my excitement quickly faded after the first visit. The decor reminds me of interior from a suburb home. Homey feeling? Not really, it actually feels weird for a restaurant. The owner came to our table and asked if we'd like to have the candle lit. Hmm OK, but no thanks.. you've got your blinds wide open at lunch and it's plenty bright inside as well. We've had Vietnamese sandwishes from a couple Vietnamese restaurants in Chicago so the bar was set high, but I didn't expect sandwich to be made in such poor quality and lack of authenticity: picture a Subway sandwich, 3 inches long (not even 6), filled with American ingredient and charges you 4 bucks. On to the pho. The serving was relatively small, at least compared to the Vietnam Cafe at City market, and the soup tasted a bit bland except for saltiness. The beef pho also lacks protein. In service department: there're only 4 tables (mine included) with customers, so it was pretty quiet, but somehow it took quite a while for us to get the food. Unless the owner makes some changes to address the quality issue especially the sandwiches, I don't see any reason why I should come back for a second visit, when its pho is far from good.

The setting in a strip mall is a bit off-putting making it the reason we have not tried it before. We put that aside and walked in. The space is clean and open and has quite a bit of seating. Our server was pleasant and not rushed as others have suggested. The spring rolls are not made to order, but they did not suffer because of this. They are maybe a little on the bland side and have no herbs and not much veg, but that's the style they are going for I suppose and they are fine. The dipping sauce is pretty good though might be a little heavy handed on the hoisin sauce (which I happen to loath!). The pho soup (103) was delicious. I agree that the meat and meatballs are kind of weird, but it worked out just fine for me as I fished out all meat products and added them to my dining partner's dish. Just to be clear, the prices are more like fast food than restaurant prices so it's not surprising that the meat is a little strange (yeah, like a bleached puck of "meat" from McDonalds isn't strange, but millions are sold daily). Get over the weird meat or order a vegetarian dish! The plate of veg to add to the soup was very fresh and plentiful and the broth, dang that is some tasty broth!! I will go back for the broth alone! You never know until you try so go ahead, give this little ma and pop place a try. It certainly won't set you back more than a chain fast food meal would and you actually get to eat fresh vegetables and fresh food made with a little more love.

Pho Good had Good Pho. The interior is way to nice for a pho joint. Normally the best pho is served in dives. Pho is essentially Vietnamese fast food, not fine dining.

We were glad to find this nearby Vietnamese restaurant. The place was clean, the decor was nice, the food was good & our waiters were attentive. The chef was very accommodating--he made a kids' meal (chicken & rice dish) for our children.

Decent takeout. Service appeared to be an issue for those dining in. Pho was fresh, good and not precooked as other reviewers have mentioned. Beef fried rice was also good.

Food is average Vietnamese food. Only went there because of a groupon. The first time I went was because of a groupon and the experience was decent. Decided to return because of another advertisement with a groupon and also because the place is closer to me than going downtown. This time the owner decided to argue with me about my groupon. He wouldn't honor the value that was advertised, after going back and fourth about how there're was no way the food value (that was expected) would add up to his groupon amount I walked away paying for food entirely with the groupon amount paid. Basically I paid $16 for a $33 groupon, ordered $41 worth of food but was only allowed to use $20 of the groupon. I was well in the terms of their groupon. I don't have a problem paying full price for food, it's the concept of it all. Lesson learned. From here on out I'd rather make the drive to Vietnam Cafe where the food and people are great. I also noticed that once I left, I checked the groupon again and he adjusted the price of $33.95 to $26.97, I guess after our argument he realized I was right.

We regularly eat at Vietnam Cafe down by KU Med and their food is what we compare all other KC vietnamese food against. We ordered egg rolls, sweet potato/shrimp appetizer platter and Pho Ga. The food was great and we will definitely be back.

i thought i would try a different vietnamese restaurant that was closer to my place.... i must say i will not be going back ... the food was not all that great.. and when i got my bill .. i was REALLY suprised.. for Beef and Broccoli it was 12.95 !!! when i had another dish with shrimp in it and it was only 8.95 . come on now that dont make no sense at all when beef is more expensive than seafood !!! i was very dissapointed. and the beef and broccoli was so bland ! not taste to it. No thank you ... will not be going back.

I love their egg rolls and Combination vermicelli(#21), the best so far. It is a huge bowl and price is very very reasonable, I would recommend this place!

Best Vietnamese I've seen on this side of state line in years. The food was at a reasonable price and it was a clean place. I went with a group of four and everyone ordered a different dish and loved it. Only tidbit of feedback as far as room for improvement, get some real napkins and not the flimsy ones you can get at DQ. Pho can be messy to eat and a paper thin small napkin is a little rough to use.

Like all other Vietnamese, I enjoy Pho very much. I often go to the Pho KC to eat pho, since there isn't any good Vietnamese restaurant in Kansas. Until I discovered Pho Good. Today, after church, I took my family there. I am impressed with its Pho Tai (raw beef with Pho). Its juice is as good as other Vietnamese restaurants I went to. My family enjoyed its pho. I would give it a 5, if its beef meat is of better quality or better prepared like what Pho KC offers. Or maybe, the way it was prepared that makes the beef meat wrinkle, not particularly the meat quality itself. I prefer its raw beef meat to become not wrinkle after I soak the meat into the Pho's hot juice. Overall, I am happy with its pho food and services. It's a clean restaurant and the restrooms are huge compared to other restaurants. I certainly plan to come back in the future. Hopefully, its beef meat for the Pho Tai would be of better quality or better prepared next time, so I could give it a 5 star rating. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to my friends. I don't have to drive 0.5hr anymore to downtown to eat pho.
