We went for the Sunday brunch on the recommendation from my sister's friend who said this place's brunch was waaaaay better than Granite City's brunch buffet. Well, it's not. I happen to really like Granite City's brunch. It's always fresh, meats are tender, and lots of selection. This place had lots of selection, however some of the food looked as if it had been sitting out for hours on end and the prime rib was so tough I thought I was eating elephant knees! No, I've never eaten elephant knees but my diverse palate can mentally extrapolate based on the visual. I digress. I'm a carnivore to my core. For me to say that the best thing I had here was the mango salsa speaks volumes. Also, some of the food wasn't labeled and it was not obvious what the dishes were, and I didn't have enough patience to play the animal, plant, or mineral guessing game. On a randomly lighter note, the fruit was fresh, it has a nice atmosphere, and our waitress was great. Regardless, I'm going to stick with Granite City's brunch.

ED S............we have been to brunch many times as well as evenings....in the past the servers seemed uninterested,so it has been refreshing to have Hadley as our server...we always sit at her area if possible

I love Italian food so it makes it difficult to go to an Italian restaurant and give a review of just ok. But based on the experience my boyfriend and I had - food, service, etc - I feel that it's the best review that I can give. Well, nothing left to do but to get on with the review. Shall we? We came here on a Saturday evening after discovering that Barley's had a near 40 minute wait. We decided to give Paulo & Bill a try (based on hunger and the previous yelp reviews). Luckily the wait was short and we were seated fairly quickly for a Saturday evening. Once seated it did take some time before we were able to order drinks - but I think that was more due to the fact that it was busy that night rather than anything to do with our waitress. Once we got our drinks (diet Coke for him Riesling for me); we had to wait yet again for the bread and for her to come and take our order. Once we got that out of the way...we finally settled in to eating dinner. The food, the best thing that I can say...is that while food was well cooked there was absolutely no true seasoning/flavor. I'm a fan of letting the food shine for itself...but there is something to be said for appropriate seasoning. I mean seriously, food at least some salt or something?? I think I covered the flatbread pizza I ordered in pepper and that only helped somewhat. My boyfriend felt the same way with his Mushroom ravioli. It came with 'spicy vokda sauce' and both of us agreed that the meal was quite bland. It just needed something extra. The only (maybe) highlight for me was the bread they provided at the beginning of the meal - it was mostly fresh? Thankfully, true to some of my favorite Italian places they served the bread with Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil. Redeemed the meal somewhat. I really wanted to like this place, but overall was disappointed. There are point where I want to try coming back, specifically because they offer gluten free pasta. But I'm not sure if that'll happen anytime soon. I really prefer my food having stronger flavors.

Food was great, but serving staff was very unfriendly after we pulled out our coupon. PLEASE don't mail me coupons if you are not going to honor them graciously.

Sit at the Chef's Table and watch them prepare the food. Tilapia was delicious. Friendly service.

We've been going to Paulo and Bill pretty regularly for about two years now. The last few visits have been really, really disappointing. The food quality has really gone down. And that's really a shame! We loved this place! We were here last about 2 weeks ago. My husband ordered the fish special, which was tuna, and it was raw. Legitimately raw. He had to send it back and thankfully they didn't charge us for his plate. The crab cakes were mushy and burnt. The avocado they serve with them was brown. Yea, I know avocado turns brown with time, but not from kitchen to table. They plated it like that, which is totally unacceptable. You don't send food out that's gone bad. Not cool. Sigh. We won't be going back in a hurry.

Steak...AWESOME salmon...AWESOME...all around delicious place to eat! Love that it is a family owned restaurant and not a huge franchise. Complimentary mouthwash in the bathroom as well ;)

I like that this place is family owned and not a chain, the atmosphere was cozy/casual and the service friendly, but the food was certainly lacking. Free bread was good but cold - definitely would have tasted better warm. We could see into the kitchen and hear someone (the owner?) calling out orders which was kind of cool. I had a viva salad - fresh and tasty with a house dressing, and chicken marsala which had fettuccine noodles in a parmesan cream sauce. The pasta/sauce had no flavor! Very bland and boring. My husband had the special - halibut with cranberry fettuccine alfredo. He subbed regular fettuccine for the cranberry, which was also incredibly bland and the fish was too dry/over-cooked. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately the food just did not do it for us. Especially considering we spent $60 on dinner only (no drinks). Both Brio on the Plaza and Bravo at Town Center blow this place away, flavor wise.

Food is just so so. But watch out. They will call you back to the restaurant to complain about your tip if you do not give enough. Service was ok, but they forgot to get the drink order for half of the table and walked away before we could order food for our daughter.

Had brunch this morning and it was great! After missing Coyote Grill's amazingly great southwest brunches from years ago and, most recently, Yahooz brunch, we drove the 15 miles to get some PB&J fare. Not quite as good as the other two, but I'll take it. Getting bored with the mediocre brunch buffets around town and this was well worth the drive. The quality and variety of the food was excellent. Can't beat the tasty mimosas and Bloody Marys either. We will definitely be back!

We met Martha and Rick here for dinner tonight. It wouldn't have been our first or even second choice, based on our last experience, but when they suggested it we agreed because the primary point was to see them. We were seated first at a booth, but requested a table because of Alan's back. Fortunately a table had just been vacated, so they quickly cleaned it off and seated us there. We were given menus and drink orders were taken. Rick and Martha ordered a bottle of wine, I ordered a Bombay Sapphire martini and Alan first ordered a Boulevard Wheat beer, but when the taps were reported by our server to be malfunctioning, switched to a margarita. Our server told us the evening's specials. We decided to split an order of calamari among us because we'd liked it last time. Alan and Rick both ordered sea bass, Martha ordered salmon and I ordered one of the evening's specials, a surf and turf combination, which came w/ a ribeye steak, two small crab cakes, carrots and leeks cooked together and potato croquettes. Our server volunteered that we were welcome to substitute anything, so I switched the croquettes for asparagus. I really appreciated that flexibility. Alan and I ordered spinach salads and Martha and Rick ordered Caesars. The calamari was very good. My martini was a generous pour and was tasty. Alan was unimpressed w/ the margarita. Focaccia was served w/ olive oil and balsamic and was good, better than last time. The salads were fresh, flavorful and well sized. My dish was terrific, the silver dollar sized crab cakes very good, as was the steak. The only odd bit was that I was not given a steak knife, but the steak was so tender I could cut it easily w/ my butter knife, so no harm done. The accompanying vegetables were flavorful. Everyone else liked his or her dish. We finished off by splitting a brownie wrapped in phyllo and topped w/ ice cream, as Rick's birthday is Wednesday. It was rich and satisfying. Service was deft and graceful, very different from our last time here. Two different managers checked on how we'd liked our meals and we could honestly say we had enjoyed them. We'd be back.

My friend had a valu-pak coupon so we decided to take advantage of it and dine in her neighborhood at Paulo and Bills. While it wasn't bad, there was nothing particularly notable either, so I wouldn't be in a rush to go back. We ordered the calamari to start, it wasn't seasoned well, nor were the dipping sauces that accompanied the dish. I had the bowtie pasta with chicken. It was good and enough to feed 3 people. My friend had the ribeye special, there was probably 4 oz of steak by the time she trimmed off all of the fat, but the mashed red potatoes that went with it were delicious. Even with the coupon the dinner was rather expensive, but on a positive note, our server was very good.

This place is fantastic not just for the food but also for the service! We just moved to Lenexa so we are trying all the restaurants in our area. We have been here once for dinner and the food was great! We knew we would be back again. The next time we came was just for desserts ( I had a craving for the filo brownie. It is truly amazing!). We got there around 8 and the place was mostly empty which was to be expected for a Monday night. After we got our order the place got busy and our poor server was slammed. I went to ask the bartender for our check since I could see he was busy and we had to leave. She left and got the manager who was very apologetic and comped our desserts for having to wait. Our wait was only about 15 minutes and they were very busy right before closing but they were so incredibly nice about us having to wait for our check. We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant frequently. Great food and great service!

Every year my Wife and I go here for our anniversary dinner. Have always been very much satisfied with the service and the food. This year I had the fish special which was Mahi w/brown rice/cranberries and asparagus. My Wife had the chicken picata w/mash potatoes. We had appetizer that was just fantastic (Shrimp Phyllo) w/chipotle cream cheese (had a sweet & sour sauce). Our Waiter was very attentive when water was empty, or our wine glasses needed filled, no need to ask. We had made a comment to our waiter that we were celebrating out 32nd anniversary, and when he served us our dessert, was told the dessert was on the house. Very much satisfied, and hopefully will be able to visit more then once a year. Is very pricey, but very much worth it. :-)

Expensive is one word to describe this place. Expect to pay between $15-30+ dollars for yourself only. The interior of the place is dark, but classy. Huge vase pots, thick heavy wood tables are a few things that stand out to me. Walking into the establishment, we were greeted immediately and served to our table. Fantastic. I don't like waiting in lobbies to get a table. This was on a Thursday night mind you. The crowds here are of older age, so the environment isn't that loud. You can have a normal conversation with your guests. My friend ordered the veil, and I decided to get the flat bread Sicilian pizza. It had mentioned it was a bit spicy. Alright, it shouldn't be too hot then, right? I'll emphasize on that a bit later. Our appetizer we ordered the Garlic Bread Bruschetta. Our waiter was very prompt and friendly. Luckily my friend knew him by chance, so maybe that put a bit of bias in this review. Our appetizer showed up 15-20 minutes later. Well... I think he had put in the wrong order, because we just got the regular Garlic Bread. Well that didn't matter, because later we found out he didn't charge us for it. Win, win, right? The Garlic Bread was basically like Texas toast bread. The garlic was in whole cloves, so you have to crush it and spread it with your knife on the bread. Shortly after that, our main courses showed up. Great timing. The plating on the veil looked absolutely well done. My pizza came on a large pan. Surprisingly they give you a lot of food for the money. I was expecting a smaller more personal sized pizza. The pizza was a bit too spicy for me. I was thinking well probably not hotter than medium? It was pretty damn hot. The flat bread was great. Great amount of chewy/crispiness. I probably should have ordered a different pizza. Oh well. I ended up only eating about a half of it. Filled me up pretty good. If you want food made with fresh ingredients, this is the place to be.

For $20/entree you'd think they'd give you a decent place to sit. I sank into my crappy old chair and felt like a toddler in a high chair. Booster seat please! There are much better Italian places to go that don't skimp on ambiance.

I was finally able to return to Paulo & Bill's. Everything that I mentioned in my original post has been addressed. I was very upset when I wrote that post, and was hesitant on going back, but I finally did it. Everything was great, the server was extremely nice, and although they did sent 3 people to my table, they explained why and gave me a heads up. The food, as always, was great, and this time I went away complete full and satisfied. I noticed that the prices went up a bit, but every restaurant in this area seems to be a bit expensive. There are few really good places to go around here, so they all tend to up their prices. I will be going back soon and I would suggest that if you are in western Shawnee, Kansas, you try this place.

First time for Sunday Brunch! It was delicious and well worth the price. Mimosas & BM's were only $4. Such a nice variety of breakfast & lunch/dinner food. Don't expect too much attention from servers. Come hungry because you'll leave full!

I was always under the assumption that Paulo and Bills was on the very expensive end of the spectrum, and thus, being the cheap skate that I am, avoided attending it. Coupons are a magical thing, that make me do things I wouldn't normally do...like go to places that I think are expensive. So Here we are. And I am pleased to say I was surprised to find excellent food, and prices that were not all that expensive, even without the buy one, get one coupon that came in the Valu Pak. The array of choices were amazing. Everything sounded good. Thankfully they offer a Combo plate, that you could select items from the soup, salad, sandwiches, and pasta menus, allowing a wider variety of sampling. The Shaved Beef was my choice, served with Fontina cheese, caramelized onions, on pressed foccacia, with a mustard/horseradish garnish, that really put some pizazz in the flavor. Meat was very tender, making this an instant favorite. Alongside was a sampling of pasta salad that had an outstanding dressing of light creamy sauce, that carried quite a little spicy kick. Unexpected but delicious. The salad that I selected had grilled chicken, apples, pears and goat cheese, with pecans that also had a spicy glazing that punched at the taste buds, Covered in a smooth and light pomegranite vinegarette..........sigh....I want another one now. Also on the table for today was Deburgo pasta. Tender morsels of beef tenderloin, with linguine in a white wine ,garlic oregano cream Big chunks of smokey mushrooms and onions. The onions were a little too predominant for me, and kind of distracted from the otherwise wonderful dish. thus keeping the 5th star from this review. Don't get me wrong, it was still a delicious dish, just had to pick around some of the onions. Service was provided but not one but two different wait staffers, making the tipping a bit akward. but was more than adequate. Even without our coupon, the price was reasonable..even a little cheaper than some of the upscale bar and grilles in the area. But check your Valu Paks..you could be in for a stellar meal at half the cost. I will be returning and soon...other items on that menu are begging to be sampled!

Simply one of the nicest restaurants in Shawnee, P&B serves casually sophisticated Italian fare. I've been going here for many years and I've never had a bad meal. They have pasta, salads, paninis, fish, pizzas and much more and everything is wonderful. For lunch, I often choose a combo (soup/salad/pasta); for dinner, the lasagna is rather legendary. They also have a wonderful Sunday brunch. Whether you're planning a romantic dinner, brunch with friends, or a family dinner, you really can't go wrong with Paulo & Bill.

My wife and I have eaten here numerous times and consistently experience above average service. The pizza is outstanding and the pasta dishes we have ordered are very good. I really like their tilapia! I think it is a family owned place not a chain which makes it even better in my book.

I do like Paulo & Bill, but wish I liked it a lot more. It's a neat building with good atmosphere. And I absolutely love the desserts- particularly the Phyllo Brownie. I just wish the entrees were a bit more appetizing. We've had most of the pasta choices and they're fine...just not as great as it seems they could be, for the prices. Service is always friendly and unintrusive.

Great lasagna and salads. We used the restaurant for an off-site meeting and had them cater. The food was fresh and tasty. I highly recommend using them as caterers for an event. Next time we are in the area we will pay the restaurant a visit. The focaccia bread was particularly good. The meat lasagna had a good balance of red sauce, cheese and meat. The catering staff were friendly and accommodating.

Everything was fantastic! I thought I couldn't be wowed by food anymore, but I was wrong! The Maytag Bleu Cheese beef medallions were phenomenal! All of the food was excellent and the service was perfect! The bar tender even knew how to make a French 75 correctly! One of the best dining experiences I've had in a very long time!

This restaurant in Shawnee is in the same strip mall as the Westglen Theater, which is not among the most modern theaters in the KC area. We found the restaurant to be excellent. The dining room is elegant with comfortable tables and booths, including oval booths. The food includes healthy choices, such as whole wheat pasta in a very fine olive-oil based Italian sauce. For an Italian restaurant, this one has an unusual number of vegetarian and seafood choices. The fish section of the menu says "wild or naturally raised, delivered fresh daily." That statement is somewhat misleading. Indeed, they do have some seafood delivered each day, but you should not assume that all their seafood was delivered that day. On the day we were there, they had only one kind of fish delivered that day, and it was not on the menu, since it was planned to be served the next day. If you ask what fish came in that day, they'll tell you. Also I doubt that all the fish on the menu is "wild" caught. I am not sure what they mean by "naturally raised," but the Atlantic salmon on the menu is most likely farm raised. We very much enjoyed everything we ordered. In fact this restaurant substantially exceeded our expectations.

Visited for the Sunday Brunch - the food was excellent and the service very good. There was an abundance of food items available on the buffet with a wide variety of breakfast items and luncheon items (i.e. ham, roast beef, etc.). All the food items were tasty and well presented.

I pronounce this "Best Italian Food" in KC. Yeah, there's a few other contenders, but nothing like Paulo and Bill. The Chicken Parm on fettuccine alfredo is so good, your face will probably fall off. Just fall right off. It's that good. Yeah. I know. My wife always gets either something spicy or fish, and her face? Off. Just...off. They bring the servers out to sweep her amazed face off the ground and reattach it, but then she takes another bite, and there it goes again. I'm not trying to rip Peter Cetera off here, but no kidding, I am a man who will fight for Paulo and Bill's honor. I'll be the hero that...well, probably not that, because all I do is just sit and eat there and kind of look slovenly. I'll save the heroics for someone who is thin and can't finish an entire chicken parm w/fettuccine alfredo. Anyway, this is as serious as a John Travlota/Nic Cage movie, because the phyllo brownie? Face...Off. The wine list. Whoa, face off. And the coupons they send in the Val-Pack??? Half priced dinner faceoffohmyGodit'ssucharidiculousdeal. With a coupon, you can eat for less than you pay to go to the Westglen next door, and don't give me any of that B & B Theaters garbage. It's the Westglen same as the Willis Tower is still the Sear's Tower. People c'mon. In my book, the only game in town that gives Paulo and Bills a run for their money is Osteria Il Centro, and as someone who lives in the Lenexa bubble, I'm not driving that far. If I want my pond walk in Sar Ko Par followed by my face falling off, I'm not driving downtown to do it. If you haven't eaten here, you either need to immediately or are a crazy person and don't like 80's music. Or...puppies.

We were very disappointed when four of us dined there July 15. Our server was efficient and entertaining. However, we were cold (one customer was even provided with a linen tablecloth for warmth), and the thermostat was never adjusted. The Bruchetta was served so guests "made their own," but there wasn't enough toppers. The food was average, at best. The chicken marsala needed more sauce and the plate was beige, not even a green garnish. Certainly not the delicious cuisine of a year ago.

It does not get much better than Paulo & Bill for an upscale Italian experience. My only question is why they refuse to update their dry, stale-tasting bread. Otherwise, this place could be plopped down in any location in America and thrive. Their steak flatbread, which is nothing like your traditional flatbread, is out of this world. I shared that along with their chicken parm, which was likewise fabulous. Everyone else concurred that "we should go here more often" when we visit our parents in KC.

Tortellini is one of my weaknesses. Throw in some creamy sauce and bacon, and well, I don't think anything could go wrong. This dish was finger-licking good (if I were using my fingers!). Complimentary bread and balsamic vinegar/oil makes me even happier! The others at my table ordered the gnocchi and the bowtie pasta - both looked equally as appetizing! I can't say I'll be back to try either anytime soon, since I was only here for a short visit, but if I happened to be in the area again I wouldn't mind stopping by! Huge restaurant with selections galore so no one can get bored! 4 people at 60 bucks including tip... that's not bad!

Paulo and Bill's is kind-of an old stand-by for me - I've been going since the mid-1990s, way back when my husband and I started dating. It holds a special place in my heart. Once owned by the PB&J Group, Paulo underwent a change of ownership probably more than 10 years ago. Luckily for me they've kept on their menu a staple from PB&J, Paulo's Coconut Chicken Salad. And that is just the cornerstone reason why I keep coming back. I remember when this restaurant first opened, all shiny and new and in the middle of nowhere, at least the city has started creeping towards their I-435 and Midland location. Today Paulo's is a little more broken in, but in no way is it tired. The staff and owners work to keep the place in good shape. And, speaking of staff, I don't think I've ever had bad service at Paulo's. My lunch companion on Friday, March 16, commented on how many people dropped by our table to check on us - our server, the owner and a couple of other staff members. Also, the owner, while I am aware of who he is, isn't one of those pesky, annoying owners out in the dining room rubbing elbows with customers because he's a big-shot restaurateur, he's out delivering meals to his customers and making sure they have what they need to enjoy their food. I like that. We started our lunch with the fried calamari - a dish I don't normally order because I'm trying too hard to be highbrow. Luckily my companion insisted. Man, I'm glad we got it because the calamari was sweet and tender and the breading was delicate. Note to self: don't try so hard, just enjoy food. On this day I was, once again, craving the Paulo's Coconut Chicken Salad - a delicious concoction of coconut breaded fried chicken served over a bed of lettuce with tomatoes, avocado, artichoke, and hard-boiled egg and dressed with a sweet and tangy house-made honey mustard dressing. Magnifico. My dining companion was looking for something meat-less to satisfy his Lenten cravings. He ordered cheese ravioli in a spicy vodka sauce and commented several times on how good the dish was. His first trip to Paulo's = success. Things you should try that I've failed to mention in this review: Sunday brunch, phyllo brownie, gnocchi. Will I go back? I'm counting the minutes.

This place is simply great time after time. I discovered it with my boss 5 years ago after a delayed flight on a snowy evening. I was so frustrated that I was ready to have a rotten dining experience to make the day a complete disaster. These folks screwed that up. The service was good but not smothering. The Marsala sauce is the best I have ever had. On this visit we had a party of 6. Event hough we showed up 30 minutes early we were promptly shown to our table. My entree was a small filet, a piece of Orange roughy and 3 broiled shrimp. The presentation was great and the food delicious. I particularly value a waiter or waitress who can describe how a dish is prepared and they usually do a great job here. If you are not in KC for BBQ, visit Paulo & Bill for a fine dining experience.

I am basing this review only on it's Sunday brunch, since that is the only time I go to eat here. I have been coming here for brunch for over 12 years, and every time the brunch has left me feeling like someone needs to roll this donut hole out! I over eat every time, I can't help it!! Some of the buffet brunch menu are... Drum roll please! Eggs, Pancakes, Waffles, (with lots o toppings) French toast, Fresh fruit, Mac n cheese!! Lasagna!! Breakfast pizza, Shrimp salad!! House salad!! Cheesecake!! Choco mousse!! And always the chocolate fondue fountain, with marshmallows, strawberries, and rice krispies to dip... This was just a small list of what they offer. Price per person $15.99 ? I'm pretty sure ;) Well worth it!!!

Paulo and Bill is a place that I had always intended on going to, but somehow had never gotten there. This past Saturday we decided to meet a friend and his new girl at Paulo and Bill's and I was very pleased with the experience. The building is very unique for the area and the ambiance is very classy. Looking at the menu, I was looking to eat something light, so I ordered the lemon tilapia. I was not expecting anything spectacular, given that it was tilapia after all, and I could not have been more mistaken. The tilapia was in a delicious lemon butter sauce and cooked with a crispy flair on the bottom. In short, this was the best meal I have had from a restaurant in KC in 2012. I will be back, this was better than I expected, and I expected a pretty good meal.

My husband and I have been going to Paulo and Bills for 7 years. Convinent location from our home, sometimes we go twice a week. my biggest turn off is....that the two owners have never once introduced their self, not a hello nice to see you again, thank you for coming in. Nothing, very disappointed. The food portions for the price is very disappointing. Hardly authentic Italian restaurant. First of all, children don't like spicy sausage meatballs, so is your sauce for a kids. Second, your happy hour drinks specials stick. Moijto? Really? Yuk! We have been going for location a two great bartenders that know are names and acknowledge us, thanks Angela and Ashley. Good luck to you both. As far as other reviews about price, if you don't mind paying dinner prices for lunch portions. I'm done with Paulo and Bills boring menu, bye

We came here solely for dessert and drinks. I ordered a french martini which was the best. Then we ordered some sort of brownie confection wrapped in phyllo dough. It was one of the BEST desserts I have had. Ever. Served with vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate syrup. I am now a diabetic.

I can't say it was bad. Can't say it was good either. Problem was, there was no taste to most the meal for both of us. We started with the house bread. No taste. No garlic no butter nothing. They served oil with it which was fine but simply tastes like oil and yeast. Calimari, our selected starter, had no taste. Two sauces, tomato (tastes like just chunky canned tomato sauce) and a tarter type flavorless sauce. I understand that Calimari itself doesn't have much taste but at least most fried Calimari Ive had has a pepper type taste. This had none. The tarter didn't even have a tarter sauce taste. Not sure what it was. I had the walleye and my partner the Maytag blue cheese steak. The steak was ok, bit far from its proud $31 price. Mostly the blue cheese flavor was highlighted, which makes sense. Asparagus was good and potatoes ok too . The fish again had no taste. There was a slight hickory taste from the sauce but the fish, mushroom ravioli on the side both tastes the same hickory flavor. Grilled veggies were good and tasted, well, grilled. We waited for the server to ask how everything was but she never did. $84 later, there are MUCH better options WITH flavor.

Just came from out of town. I had the pasta with red sauce and the chicken flatbread. Both were excellent. The service was quick and the food was served even quicker. Ice tea was brewed to perfection with just the right color. I would eat here again if I lived closer.

I never eat at this place unless its for BRUNCH!! There selection is great and its priced just right and I think it is the best bang for your buck in KC. $14.95 I think and that includes any drink or $3 for Mimosas and Bloody Mary's. There selection includes the breakfast staples but they do have some yummy different options including a veggie quiche and their fruit is super fresh. Their mini waffles and french toast are the cutest with their selection of berries, fresh whipped cream, butter and syrup. They are known for their Italian food which is the most disappointing on the buffet. Its cold and gummy, but back to the highlights. Don't skip the salad. I'm a serious carnivore but their shrimp salad is OMG and their house salad with dressing is quite yummy. They have carved meat station with prime rib and honey ham. And last but not least two words.... CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!!! (The trick is to take pineapple off the breakfast portion of the buffet to dip in chocolate) Also they have a selection of great little desserts with bread pudding and all kinds of little cakes and puddings. I will be back! Can't wait till it is patio time. The service is outstanding this place will continue to be a favorite of mine for many years to come.

Dropped in on Friday night as the lasagna has always been a favorite. The experience wasn't what we expected. Service has dropped as the server was very indifferent to our presence, took an extra long time to place the order and then had to ask twice for bread with the salad. While the lasagna met expectations, the bow tie pasta was runny and lacking flavor..the chicken was more like pulled pork in texture. The decor is very dated and our booth in the lounge had tears and rips in it. I hope that management takes a critical look at their overall operation as this place was a one time favorite and lately has been lacking.....

Okay, I thought I would give this place another try after 2 years. But things don't tend to change. While sitting at the table I was trying to remember why i never came back. After I took the first bite of food thats what I remember, the food is not any good. And when I saw the bill would not recommend this place. Don't eat here go to J Alexander's and the food is 100 times better than this place. The service is a Zero on top of it

I always have the three cheese pasta in a cheese and bacon sauce. It is creamy, cheesy, and delicious without being so heavy that you feel sick afterwards. Service is good and of average speed. Menu is diverse. It's a good spot.

One of our go-to neighborhood places. We have been about 10-20 times in the last two years and have never been disappointed. They frequently have coupons in the saver mailer which makes it even more a place for us to visit as we are on a budget but still enjoy the finer places. We've done the Sunday brunch, the happy hour, lunch and dinner. I am not a fan of the bread or dip they bring to the table but that's just a personal preference and everyone is different. My favorite dish is the pecan crusted salmon and it's always hard to say no to the Phyllo dessert. We have never really had a bad experience.

I have been here 3 times and it is just a 3 star place. The service has always been good, but the focaccia bread and dip is just so, so. My husband loves their spaghetti and meatballs, but I am not a fan. The place is also dark and dreary to me.

Paulo and Bill's makes a mean martini. Ask for the disco lemonade -- it's not on the menu anymore but it goes down like butta and before you know it you'll down three or four. Of course you shouldn't drink those cocktails on an empty stomach, so try the appetizers too. You can choose three different appetizers, all of which are served in a beautiful three-layer tower. I recommend the calamari and eggplant ... I'll leave number three up to you. Paulo and Bill's buffet isn't just for holidays. Every Sunday they serve up an extravaganza of gourmet food. This isn't the Country Buffet; it's upscale, elegant and pricey. But why not? Save the mundane for weekdays. Make the weekend special -- whether it's Friday happy hour or Sunday brunch -- with P&B.

We've been going here for a long time. Hadn't been in a while but the other night we went had I had their Duburgo Pasta which is made with their peppered fliet. I don't like Mushrooms so the server suggested I add peas. OMG it was amazing. I never finish my plate and I ate the whole thing. My husband also wanted a greek salad which was not on the menu and he had the chef whip one up for us and it was amazing. I will be going back more often now as I am craving the pasta. The sunday brunch is amazing too and it's always packed for brunch. Service is always outstanding. Prices are not that expensive for what you get.

I used to eat here all the time. I guess there are more choices now, so I forget about this place. It is located in an area that really isn't next to much else except an aging movie theatre. The food is really nice, with an emphasis on pasta, pizza and roasted meat. The interior feels a little Bellagio, but in a cozy way. An open air kitchen and outdoor seating gives it a little something extra. If you are looking for a great place for Mother's Day or Easter, this elevated buffet is one of the best in the city. A buffet for non-buffet people. You definitely get the value for your money.

You all are smoking dank with your pallid "3 stars." WTF? This restaurant is the bomb-dig-a-tay. Not only is it 10 mins BY FOOT from my folks' place, but it's also some of the best eye-talian food you'll find. Period. Their shrimp rocks, and you don't' hear that often as it just sounds totally weird. Yes, rockin' shrimp. Check your taste buds, fellow yelperz. Also, c'mon, buffets are for wienies and fair-weather/WT cheap-o'z. Spend some green and order off the damn menu, then then throw your feces if need be.

This place has a great lunch special. I suggest the bow tie pasta with chicken and the Paulo Chicken Salad. The chicken in the pasta is melt in your mouth tender, and the "paulo chicken salad" Its got artichoke hearts and avacados in it with a creamy honey mustard dressing. They also have a YUMMY desert that is a brownie wrapped in filo dough with chocolate and some other sauce and placed in a oven until the dough is crispy and they top it off with homemade white chocolate chip vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. They also have a great sunday brunch!! The atmosphere is very nice great place for date night, or afternoon lunch with friends or co workers.

Ouch! A family gathering of eight had dinner when we were last in the Shawnee area. It was disappointing, to say the least. Each of us ordered a different entree and only one person was satisfied with the food. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the server was attentive and personable.

Great food, ambiance was relaxing but buzzing with people. It reminded me of an Italian cafe we went to this past summer. The price was fair and the food was great, with excellent service. The wine I had was recommended by my waitress and was fantastic for a "house" selection. I'll go back because of the great service and convenient location near the Hampton Inn.

They offer gluten free pastas! The pasta was so delicious and I highly recommend going there for a special gf meal! They clearly label the other dishes that are gf as well.

Great food and good service. You can dine outside in the warm weather and they have the best Sunday Brunch in Shawnee. I have many good memories eating their when I lived in Kansas City. I never had a bad meal or was ever disappointed. They are also famous for their exotic wine list. It's a high end restaurant with reasonable prices (however it's been 2 years since I have been there so their prices might now be high). Most of the waiters and waitress are local college students and fun to talk too, or least this was true 2 years ago.

Their spinach salad is the best spinach salad ever. I crave this salad. Service has been good, its cozy in a booth. Warm and comfortable. Add the chicken flatbread humus app or the margerita pizza and its heavenly.

I hadnt been to Paulo and Bills in over 10 years. Its great to see that what wasnt broke hasnt been fixed. Still as good as ever, wonderful specials, desserts were great, appetizer wonderful. The server was even too good...a little overly anxious, but thats ok. We had the calimari, the bow ties, and the sea bass special, followed by the phyllo and semi fredo. Both were awesome. Its a little pricier than we usually do, but well worth it for a nice romantic dinner out! I recommend for sure!

Super greasy peperroni pizza, and a not so good mushroom and tomato pizza. I don't have any desire to return here ever again. I've heard good things about their desserts, however.

My husband I keep giving Paulo and Bill's another try because it is convenient to our home. We were so disappointed on our last visit we won't be back-there are two many other restaurants that would appreciate our business who serve a quality product at a value price. Here's the skinny on our experience: Eggplant appetizer-unripened tomatoes were the key component to the dish that made it a big 'miss'... Our $12 salad was missing key components-artichoke hearts and parmesan. Of course no one checked with us to see how the appetizer or salad were meeting our expectations. Entree- we split a Pizza. No complaints on the Pizza quality, but size and price were not congruent. Dessert? Phyllo Brownie was nothing short of disgusting... brownie was mushy and undercooked... very disappointing....

I have been here 3 times and it is just a 3 star place. The service has always been good, but the focaccia bread and dip is just so, so. My husband loves their spaghetti and meatballs, but I am not a fan. The place is also dark and dreary to me.

Visited for the Sunday Brunch - the food was excellent and the service very good. There was an abundance of food items available on the buffet with a wide variety of breakfast items and luncheon items (i.e. ham, roast beef, etc.). All the food items were tasty and well presented.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
