First time visit in the new location. Really great with the reupholstered furniture from the old location. Clean and open design. Very noisy atmosphere. Could use some sound deadening. Staff was very attentive. Shrimp gumbo not to good. Not like the old days. Over cooked pork and not much shrimp. They ran out of cornbread and we ended up with it in a to go box. They gave us a free dessert due to the delay. The cornbread and the whiskey bread pudding were excellent. Food quality and taste was generally good. Not great. Had to rate a three for overall experience. Not sure if I would return.

This place is pretty good. Sat at the bar on a Wednesday night and got great service. The cajun pasta was good and the jambalaya was also delicious. They had a 5 dollar special lemonade-alcohol drink special and that was also very good. Would definitely go back!

Great new location. loved the interior design. Service was great and had a good time. My birdie bomb was pretty good, but the bun got soggy fast. Minus one star for soggy bun and no more grilled cheese on the menu. :'( I would definitely go back! So glad it reopened.

This restaurant has a nice selection of creole and seafood items on the menu. I was a bit surprised to find it in Kansas. My fiance ordered the jambalaya and gumbo. He thought they were good. We really enjoyed the nacho appetizer.

I like to be honest about my reviews. I just came into town and was hungry. I use yelp to find places to eat. I was starving which means almost anything taste great. This place has a great atmosphere. I love the decor. The staff were nice and friendly. I ordered their dinner special which was chicken, collard greens and jambalaya. I also ordered the artichoke dip. Let's start with the dip. It came out looking burnt. It didn't taste burnt though. I really did not like it at all. The fried chicken was fair at best. The collard greens were quite horrible. The only thing I really liked at all was the jambalaya. I've had better but at least I liked it. I am sorry for the bad review. I would not come here again.

Great little local Cajun joint, authentic to Manhattan, KS. Formerly in Aggieville, now more grown up and relocated to historic downtown area on Poyntz Avenue. Many of the same delicious Cajun entrees as at former location, but now better than ever! Must haves include BBQ Bacon-wrapped grilled Shrimp, gourmet blackened burgers, red beans & rice, jambalaya, along with pasta dishes, seafood & vegetarian options. My Hubby's favorite: Chicken Orleans (savory pasta dish), served w/ tossed salad, and he had a Boulevard Wheat Beer as his beverage choice. I had the Friday nite Special: Blackened Catfish filet w/grilled lemon half, Dirty Rice, sautéed seasoned green beans, cumin-lime coleslaw, and the very Best cornbread I've ever had w/ real butter! My drink of choice at "The Hut": The NOLA Mule... consisted of Woody Creek Vodka, Ginger Beer, and a Lime served in a chilled copper mug - Love Love Love!!! I would go there for that drink alone! Dessert is great also, but always too full after the meal, which is more than one person can typically eat! If in Manhattan, you gotta try it!

We went on a Friday night so they were a little busy. Our server seemed scatterbrained but was very nice and apologetic. We got a special appetizer of fried mushrooms served with remoulade and Fire ranch. The mushrooms took long and when they came, some were lukewarm. We didn't complain though. I ordered the Chicken Orleans (penne with diced chicken and andouille sausage pieces, with peppers in a spicy cream sauce), with a house salad. The food came out quick, before we were done with our salads, so we let our entrees sit a little. My food was good but also lukewarm (maybe because I had to let it sit or it wasn't hot enough in the first place), but it had good flavor. My boyfriend ordered a side of hush puppies and I tried one. It was pretty good. They had live music that night and while the band was setting up, the power in the restaurant went out. That was fun. It came back on after about 5 minutes. We were almost done with our entrees and the server realized we didn't get any cornbread. We got it and it was nice and hot but the edges were a little over done. We got 2 pieces of Dutch Apple Pie to go and ate them the next day. They were good.

I was visiting Manhattan when I came across this culinary gem which was all together cozy, romantic, hipster, and friendly. The service was highly attentive and I felt as if I was being attended by all of the serving staff instead of just one person. The pork belly appetizer was an orgasmic experience, and although the cashew fish was simply good (not extraordinary) I really think the rest of my experience made all the difference. They have specials every day and are strategically located so that you can even take a nice little walk after your meal. Don't be shy and give it a try :-)

Excited to be back in Manhattan and able to try out the new Hibachi Hut downtown. The atmosphere is a big improvement. Loved that they used items from the old location, including newly recovered booths. Definitely a better cohesive feel compared to the Aggieville location. While we were waiting on our food and eating appetizers, three employees were wiping down silverware at a nearby booth and clanking them into a big pan. Very noisy and a bit annoying to 1) see them do their table prep work and 2) to deal with the noise. Even though a couple of different tables would look over every time there was a another "clank", they didn't seem to pick up that it was bothering the paying customers. The food....just OK. The server wasn't familiar with the ingredients and had to go back and get answers to our questions. We didn't finish our food because it was just so-so. The special soup, and amber beer and cheese, was luke warm and chunky. I don't think the chunky part was a good thing. I love beer cheese soup...like from Granite City and the 94th Aero. This was nothing close to that. For the prices, I expected more quantity and more quality. Probably won't be back nor would recommend to anyone....unless you want the nostalgia of going back to a re-designed Manhattan tradition. Finally: No Coke products. :(

I have not eaten here since they moved to their new location on Poyntz Ave, but everyone I know who has says the food is the same. And that's good, because it was pretty darned good. I'm from the South and it was nice to have cajun/creole cuisine, or at least a very close approximation.

New location is great. Food is totally up to pay with what I expect! Try the chicken Orleans (pasta) and be sure to sub a cup of gumbo for the side salad. The cornbread here is the best I've had!

New to visit Manhattan and what a superb surprise this place was. But don't go expecting Japanese - the menu is all gulf coast Louisiana! And it's great, I grew up on the Texas gulf coast and visited new Iberia and environs a lot and this is authentic Cajun, and not the over-tabasco'd dishes that many northern restaurants interpret Cajun to mean. The étouffée is terrific, salads creative, and they have a decent selection of microbrews. Staff really helpful and friendly, prices fair. Worth a visit, if I lived her I'd be a regular!
