Food was amazing. I had the jambalaya, the wife had blackened cat fish. Tasted amazing. Unfortunately we had to get it to go because it took an hr to get our food. Keep in mind this is a new restaurant and they are probably still ironing out their process. Although, they only 1 waitress on staff on a Friday night. If this is their average wait time they should think about upgrading their bar drink selection. Kudos for putting playing cards at the table. Most authentic Cajun food in Manhattan. PS the Boudain ball were also great.

So sad to give this place such a lousy review because we love local places AND Cajun/Creole, but we tried our hardest to love it. No go. We sat down and the place was filled with smoke. Their kitchen hood was clearly busted. Floor was dirty, as was the tablecloth where we were seated. Menus were dirty and misspelled, some were written in Sharpie. The place had barely been touched since being gutted by the previous occupants. Every other table was full even though it was 8 pm. Good sign, right? No one had food on their tables, and all their glasses were empty. Bad sign. We had several friends in there... they'd already been waiting an hour. We saw our waitress once before she clocked out at 9 pm. In that time, we ordered fried green tomatoes. They were fantastic, but a little expensive for only being given five small slices. We got all excited (again, we love authentic Cajun) but were sorely disappointed by the lack of service or care. Mostly? The lack of FOOD. We waited over 2 hours before finally walking out. There were two people working the kitchen (not seeming in much of a hurry) and nobody bothered to come and give us an ETA on our meal, or even give us water. I can understand making food fresh with a small staff in a new-ish venue. But this was absurd. Sorry, man. This'll be gone in a month if they don't step it up.

This place just opened so the service takes some time. However, the food is amazing. The sampler platter was too small and too expensive. The jambalaya was amazing especially with the Cajun kick! The boudin balls and Cajun wings were also great! I love this place! I really hope it explodes in manhattan

Everything that Diana W. said was true. I'd like to add we waited 3 hours for our food and left without the final portion because we didn't want to wait any longer. I love cajun and my family is from Louisiana. The Food The food was mediocre at best. The gumbo had less flavor than I am accustom. The macaroni was a very small, dry and over cooked portion. It was in fact, the WORST macaroni I have EVER had! The small bread pudding portion was decent, but definitely over priced. It was the best thing about the dining experience. The etouffee was ok. They aren't very good with severing the table at once so be prepared for one item to come out at a time. Expect at least a 10 minute delay between plates. In my first two hours there were a total of 8 plates served in the entire place. It took us 2 hours 15 minutes to get our first item. The Professionalism Again, all of the stuff Diane said so I won't repeat. Plus the owner was so behind, she yelled at the waitress. She was allowing random people in the kitchen. No one seemed to know how to properly wash their hands, except the medical person who even showed up in scrubs from another job. That person began working in the kitchen. It was very apparent that person was coming from another job. Yuck! The place was filthy our table cloth was disgusting. There were hand drawn "chef" hats decorating the table. However, they looked more like a particular part of the male anatomy; EVERY table within ear shot pointed out! Right now I can't recommend this place, in the future I hope they will fix their problems so that these issues no longer exist.

We tried out the new Cajun restaurant last night. I'd been in New Orleans a few weeks ago, so I was interested in comparing their food. The food was good! The jambalaya was rich and hearty, and the gumbo had great flavor. The boudin balls were piping hot and delicious. The dishes had a little heat, but nothing was too spicy to handle. We're looking forward to going back sometime and trying out the pecan pie ("made with little pecans of love") and the bread pudding. The couple near us were from Louisiana, and were quite complimentary about the food as well. They're clearly operating on a shoestring at this point - very little decor beyond come Christmas lights and the white tablecloths, and I have a strong suspicion the cook nipped across the parking lot to Ray's to get the supplies for our meal after we ordered. Tasted great, though! A small stage/speaker system indicates they're planning on live music. Bathrooms were clean. Service was very friendly, but rather sporadic - we ended up getting our own refills on our drinks. They didn't seem to have a liquor license at this point, so no beer or wine.
