We love this place. We've been several times and it never disappoints on all fronts. I am currently enjoying the tuna tartar with a few extra crackers as my entree! Their salmon salad is delightful. Staff are always welcoming and place has a 'local' feel. Keep up the great work!

We came for here for a Saturday night dinner. Our table of three decided to split an appetizer, salad, and two pasta dishes. It was more than enough food and the restaurant was very accommodating to meet our request to do more of a family style meal. Their prices are more than fair for the quality and portions. We also split a bottle of wine that was reasonably priced. The duck pasta was amazing! The fresh pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The waitress made sure to talk to us about the texture as well so no one would be taken by surprise. Get the guacamole app to start. It's delicious as well!

First time for brunch at the Lenexa location. We were very pleased. Order a entree and also get the appetizer bar. Good selections of entrees were available. The favorite might have been the eggs Benedict followed by the omelet and Huevos Rancheros. The appetizer bar was not huge, but was about the right size. The smoked salmon was a big hit. The price is what got a to try the location. $16. Excellent value since we typically avoid brunch and the $20-25 price tag. Service was really good and professional. Probably our only negative comment would be cocktail options. They would have benefited (by us having more) if they were a couple dollars cheaper. We enjoyed their happy hour in previous visits and will be back again.

Food is overpriced , food is mediocre at best, and service just ok . They need better specials, more attention to detail and the manager isn't very good , place doesn't compare to the one on the plaza

I miss the old version of the Tuna Tartare, but the Bill's Chicken Salad is still a go-to favorite. Love this new location even better than the Plaza one.

I've dropped by for drinks and had good experience, but dinner was very disappointing. Waiter was hard to find throughout dinner, and meat was over-cooked and dry. After finishing meal, I waited 15 minutes looking for my waiter to check out. Fortunately my wife drove separately so she was able to leave and make her appointment on time. I had to walk to front and interrupt host and maître d from their chat in order to get help locating my waiter. When he brought the check and asked about my experience, I mentioned the meat being a little over-cooked. His reply..."you should have told me". I probably would have if he were anywhere in the area during meal time. No one came over to apologize or inquire about my complaint. As I walked out, host and maître d back chatting again and didn't bother to acknowledge me. I would imagine staff goes through proper training, but the operational management does not seem to reinforce quality service. There are better dining experiences in the same price range.

I was here for a wine meet up group. The food was good; I had a beet salad & spring roll. I like to try new places and will be back for happy hour.

Small mistakes throughout the meal cause the 1 star to be missing here. Amazing atmosphere, great food (mashed potatoes and trout were highlights for us) Very friendly staff and clean. We will be back to try the brunch.

We just walked out. It was so noisy we could not have a conversation sitting across the table from each other. Between screaming women and pots and pans clanking, we decided to take our money elsewhere.

Great meal, great service, great environment. The olives and almonds "snack" is sooooooo good.

Went to this newish location for lunch. It is a great space, very cool and modern and just all around lush feeling inside but the entrance is awkward being around back. The menu is the same as the plaza location which is fine, the food is good but nothing really special about it that warrants $14 for a chicken sandwich. The apple dessert was the best part of the meal. The portions are large so sharing is a good idea.

I was here for a large party so let this not reflect your typical dinners here. This place is awesome on the inside. Super classy and upscale but there was a large mix of people in here from suits to t shirts. Cool lights everywhere and had a great feeling to it. We were very well taken care of here, the servers did a great job making sure everyone had drinks and food. For the food we had bread with hummus/butter, green beans, a small salad, mashed potatoes, grilled chicken, and some kind of beef/steak with gravy. All I know is it was fantastic. I don't even like green beans and I ate these. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, as was the other meat. I even tried some of the bread and hummus and enjoyed it. They had a couple Boulevard beers to choose from which gave them a few extra points. I personally love the ambiance here and thought the food was excellent. I would love to come back for dinner sometime. Who wants to go with me?

Have eaten here multiple times in the past but I recently just dined there on a Thursday night, which to my surprise was half off wine night. My server, Joe, was cheery and a joy to talk to. I was a tad unfamiliar with the menu, being im a typical bar and grill type of guy, and I was more or less satisfying my wife by trying something new with her, and to my surprise had a delightful experience. What really was a staple on my dining experience was the service. For as young as this kid was, he was as experienced as any other server I have had before, and the funny thing was is he said he'd only been working there since March of this year (?!) I hardly believed him by his attentiveness and knowledge of the menu and the wine list. Overall great food, but what makes a night out excellent is service, and Joe delivered.

This is a great add to the Western Lenexa/ Western Shawnee area. My husband and I went for a Friday happy hour (runs until 6:00). We decided to sample several of their HH appetizers and ordered the tuna tartare, smoked trout guacamole, white cheddar fondue and the prime rib tacos. Not a single item disappointed us. We will definitely be back for dinner. Fantastic food. Great atmosphere. Fabulous service. What more could you ask for. Give it a shot!

I called to place an order for pick up & the guy said they close in 5 Mins. I live right down the street & was in route as I was on the phone. So if you are open, you are open for business, point blank is how I see it. I can't clock out on my job 5 mins before my shift ends. Needles to say, I will not be patronizing this establishment anytime in the near future no matter how close in proximity it is. I will take my business to places like KC Grill & Kabob that actually welcomes any kind of business. I wish I could give 1/2 star!

We still love this place. It's one of our go-to date night spots. Service is always top notch and the food is perfect. I swear the crab cakes get a little bit more amazing each time I have them. They really are incredible!

This was our first dining experience at the restaurant for Mother's Day Brunch. Food was good and plentiful. Service was inconsistent and full of errors. Error 1: We were told that bottomless mimosas and bloody marys were included in the brunch. Naturally we ordered some (4 glasses total among 3 adults) and got charged $11 pp. Error 2: We placed an order for an omelette. The server was asked twice to check on the omelette. 45 minutes later the omelette arrives with some lame excuse. Error 3: Two forgotten requests for coffee and creamer. Coffee arrives, had to ask a third time for creamer. Error 4: Bill for brunch- and WTH- mimosas? By then we have been at the brunch for 90 min and the server is AWOL. A manager corrects our bill and another server has stepped in to ameliorate the circumstance. It takes an additional 20 minutes. Great atmosphere and decent food. The service is disappointing. Oh- and I did purchase a gift card from them over the 2014 Christmas holiday. It took them 20 minutes to issue me a card from the bar. The icing on the cake was that I got a call from them the following day stating the gift card they issued was invalid and I needed to come back and get a new card. FAIL!

I was really excited to try this place as my mother in law is crazy about it. In the end, I should have asked her what to order since I wasn't familiar with the menu. Overall, though, the service, ambiance, and food yields a 3 star experience. The appetizers were all delicious. The trout guacamole doesn't sound good at first glance, but you'd be amazed with the flavor that came through. The Old Bay seasoned chips to dip in the guac only helped matters. We also had the tuna tar tar, cheese fondue, and short rib tacos. All were very good. My side caesar and gnocchi entree were both average at best. The salad dressing had little to no flavor, which was pretty disappointing. The croutons weren't very good, either. The gnocchi was kind of gross, to be honest. I ended up sending it back for a chicken sandwich to take home with me. I wasn't hungry when I got home, so I'll be enjoying that bad boy for lunch tomorrow. The service was terrific. The server was very friendly, and she did her very best to accomodate our group of varying degrees of preference. I appreciated that. The ambiance is also neat. You get the uptempo, hip vibe. Good stuff. All in all, I'd recommend going and just ordering the majority of appetizers and sharing them. You don't always have to order the big entree, do you? :)

I love this place. The people are friendly;there is a "locals" feel at the bar. I must confess, I have only sat in the actual restaurant a few times. I usually meet my mom for a drink. I have met half the movers and shakers in KC at the Grand Street bar. The bartenders are friendly and personable, efficient, and knowledge. The food is fabulous - not too much stuffy steak house, not too much nouveau eclectic. Just the right amount of comfort and fresh.

Ok place. Place gets hot because they leave the windows open to the outside during hot summer days. TV'S are good, wait staff is ok.

I have been here a handful of times over the last year and always have a great dining experience. They have a great wine list. My first visit was for brunch and our a la carte items were delicious as was the buffet. The service was outstanding! I visited for lunch with my mom and we had a great meal. I had a glass of wine and the meatball appetizer and my mom had the grilled cheese sandwich. They were both delightful! The server was knowledgable and it was nice being able to eat an elegant lunch close to my home in Lenexa. I also brought a group of 9 on a Saturday night in February and we had great service and meals. I had the short ribs, which were delicious. I also ordered the guacamole and the pretzel bites for the table to share and they were both scrumptious. I had one of their signature cocktails and a glass of wine and was pleased with both, which were recommended by the server. I am looking forward to my next visit!

Very nice atmosphere. Creative selections and excellent flavor a although the salad and spaghetti and meatballs were a bit over saved for my taste.

I had an impromptu dinner with my parents tonight and was excited to check out this location. Our server, Ashley, was great. She was friendly and inviting, but not overbearing. She also handled our meal complaints with poise. I work in the restaurant industry (BOH and FOH) and I NEVER want to be "that lady". I try to stay away from special orders and have understanding for mistakes. That said... I ordered the "Seared Scallops" and had to send them back. I probably should have asked for the meal to be comped, as they never got it right. The first round of scallops were hardly seared (no crisp to the outside at all) and WAY overcooked - they were rubbery little hockey pucks. Anyone who loves scallops as much as I do knows that an overcooked scallop isn't worth eating. So I apologized as I insisted on new scallops. Well... The second round were STILL not seared, barely warm, and the insides were still raw. *sigh* I gave up on the scallops. The three stalks of asparagus were perfectly cooked and still had some crisp, but the potatoes were too far salty to eat. I mean... I'm the queen of dirty martinis, drunk while snacking on potato chips... So if something is too salty for ME, someone needs to take the salt away from whoever is making those potatoes! My mom ordered her steak medium and it came out well-done. Aaaand her mushrooms had the same salt problem as my potatoes. Her green beans, though, were cooked perfectly. Dad's grouper seemed fine, yet nothing to rave about. The brussel sprouts that accompanied the dish were probably the highlight. All in all, the meal was a bust. At $200, we should have been glowing about our meals. The only things I'd order again are the wine and the pretzel appetizer - the rest was a disappointment. I really hope they get their temperatures figured out for their meats and ease up on the salt! Both stars go to Ashley!

I'll be the first to admit that I've never eaten dinner here, but I can say that I've absolutely loved every happy hour I've had at the Lenexa Grand Street location. The wine is ridiculously inexpensive, the happy hour menu never disappoints and I feel like I win a prize every time my wife says we can go. I've really taken to the pretzel w/cheese fondue, and if I'm ridiculously hungry, I'll order the coconut chicken as well. Beyond that, I think the service (at least in the bar area) has always been beyond great, and there's two women who work the bar area that my wife and I just really enjoy talking to. Generous pours seem to be the norm too. I run into a lot of other IT types and executives here as well that I know work in KC but live south, so it's nice to occasionally see people I come across in the work world outside that setting. I wish others would give this new place a shot the way that I have...it's truly one of my favorite stomping grounds right now, and I hope it will stick that way for some time.

My first visit to this location for a birthday lunch with a friend. We decided on the Restaurant Week Menu. We were not disappointed I have had several people tell me about the fish dishes. We both really enjoyed the nut incrusted ruby trout. Our server was great and very fluent signer. That is a big plus in any restaurant near Olathe. I asked for the Sunday brunch menu and am excited to invite some deaf friends after church next week.

I live very nearby and because there are really no other choices within walking distance I REALLY wanted to like this place. Unfortunately the only consistent thing has been disappointment. The first four times I went I thought the food was nearly inedible. The fifth time I went I learned they hired a new chef and enjoyed really good scallops. Encouraged by our last experience I convinced my family to go to a pre-New Years eve happy hour. We called on the 30th and were told they would have a happy hour and would like us to stop by. Upon arrival, the hostess told us to seat ourselves in the bar and we did. Our waitress arrived and apologetically told us there was no happy hour. Disappointed but undeterred we order the pretzel appetizer which is one of my wife's favorites. Later our waitress apologetically approached and said the table we were seated at was reserved. She asked us to choose from one of the many open booths. Having waited tables in a fine restaurant during college, I was disappointed and surprised there was no placard reserving the table but we said "OK" and moved to an open booth. Unfortunately, our disappointment was not over. A man, who we assumed is the manager, approached our table and said all tables were reserved and directed us to move again. Unlike our waitress who acted like it was an awkward moment, this man made us feel like we were squatters and seemed like he wasn't going to leave our table until we started moving. I travel 2-3 nights for work and eat out over 6 meals per week on average. So with my years of experience working in fine dining and eating out I feel I have an experienced perspective. I understand but don't appreciate the experience provided by the waitress. At least she tried to help us have a positive experience! The managers behavior was ridiculous to the degree that I have eaten my last meal in this place! I hope your experience is better if you choose to eat here.

Amazing food and a great atmosphere. I saw the menu and figured I'd drop in and do some studying. I was shocked as I walked into Grand Street CAFE because its definitely an upscale RESTAURANT. I was immediately greeted by a terrific staff and sat in a quiet area. The food was outstanding and extremely reasonably priced. I will definitely be returning soon!

Bartenders Breanne Haley, and Amanda are awesome! Love happy hour!!!! This is a must The bread here is awesome, the bar staff is always courteous, I found the bar manager Dylan to be well-informed on wine and he could double as a sommelier. Sunset is beautiful off the patio!!!

My wife and I have been eager to check out the new Grand Street Cafe, but our visit last night left us a bit disappointed. We parked at what we thought was the front of the restaurant but discovered that the door is oriented toward the parking garage so we had to walk around to the southeast corner of the building past the trash dumpsters. Probably not the first impression they were looking to create. Our food was very good, served hot and fresh. I had the seafood fettuccine while Mary had the salmon. Nice presentation as well. Where GSC really fell short was with our server. While he was attentive, he just didn't add a thing to our dining experience. He was cool, aloof and a bit arrogant. At these prices, in this economy, I think GSC could hire better. I can get friendlier service at Taco Bell. In short, good food, crappy service, we're not in any hurry to return.

Went for brunch, which was only $16 bucks and worked sort of like a Ponderosa: you order an entree and you get the rest of buffet to round out your meal. The buffet has a few different salads: tomato/onion/olives/olive oil, roasted veggies with pesto, pasta salad, salmon or tuna salad (maybe, it was pink). There was also hummus and pita and some peel and eat shrimp. Then there was fruit and the dessert end of the table: pound cake, cookies, muffins, macaroons, and bread pudding. Being gluten free, most of the desserts were off limits though the macaroons were yummy and surprisingly almost too sweet. The fruit tasted fresh and I liked the tomato salad and roasted veggies too. As for my entree, I ordered the short rib benedict. Now, I am a benedict fiend, so this got my hopes up. Short rib, poached egg, hollandiase, potato gallet, and caviar. Yes, caviar. The eggs were cooked perfectly, nice and syrupy and silky. The short rib was nice and meaty. The potato gallet in place of the english muffin is truly inspired and so delicious and crispy awesome. My only complaint is that it seemed luke warm by the time it arrived. Still, the flavors were there. In general, for brunch, this was a solid choice. It was nice, well kept, with good service. I was honestly surprised at how swanky it was. I liked it.

Brunch on Sunday, only $16.00! You order your entree from the menu and then add to it from the buffet. We had the Eggs Benedict, very good. Fresh cinnamon rolls are delivered to the table. Nick was our server. Ask for him, he'll take good care of you. Décor is fantastic and modern.

So I'll begin by saying that I love good food and great service and I was given wonderful service from our waiter for our room but the food was horrendous!!!! I was throwing my niece a graduation party and since it was raining everyday for the weeks prior I had to cancel my outdoor luau and my caterer recommended Grand St Cafe. She said the ambience was nice and the food was good. So I proceeded to call the restaurant and was told I need to speak to Kristi Ghilardi, we spoke on several occasions that week before the event. I was pleased that the could get us in and still adhere to our planned day(the only positive here). So on friday morning I called her and we discussed total number of people (34)and the menu in which I requested that we not have the steak spring rolls and she said that was fine but then she called me back and says well they already ordered them and would it be ok if we would still have them on the menu, I said well I really didn't want them but I will go ahead and take them (according to her she would have been in big trouble). So day of the party we go in everyone loves the place, we do a small amount of graduation decor while we are setting up the waiter asks what time do we want our food? I told him 2:45 would be great. So looking back at the time line and the photos that we took at 2:58 pm the food covers where still on the food and we didn't begin eating really till about 3:10 pm. So of course being the host I was walking around just make sure things were fine before I got my food. I sat down and starting eating and noticed the chicken was extremely tough and the potatoes were burnt. So I noticed that everyone was complaining about the chicken especially, so I called our waiter over and said very softly to him this chicken is bad it was very tough and the potatoes were burnt. Then I said why don't you get the manager. So he leaves out the room and then doesn't come back with the manger, he takes the pans of food away. At this time its about 3:40, now I don't know about you but if your main course is that dry that you cant eat it, there is a problem and they knew it especially when the plates were being picked up most of the chicken was still left on the plates. Here's the really bad part, when they brought out the bill I was a little surprised about he total. it was about $400 dollars more than what I had originally thought it was going to be( I had pre-calculated the bill with tax and gratuity) but I ask for the manger/owner and he came in with a very very nasty attitude. I explained what the issues were and he said "well we tasted the food and it was fine" (LIE) all my guest were taken aback by this because we all knew it was not fine. When we were discussing the chicken and I opened the pan of chicken that was left (the second set of chicken) there was this sauce in the bottom of the pan that was not in the first one and this was different chicken. He claimed is was the same chicken and we argued back and forth because I know it was not. Then he proceeded to offer me a free meal. SERIOUSLY!!!! My bill was $1600 for 34 people (which ended up being $47 per person when it was supposed to be $25 per person), my bill at a max should have been $1200 and the food was uneatable and no I'm sorry, no let me take something off for the horrible food, NOTHING!!!! By far the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant... And thats not all he says to me "well if you CAN'T pay the bill will call the police"!!! REALLY????? WOW!!!!!! Calling the police on some women and children because your an ass and your restaurants food SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and even after we paid he called the police, another WOW moment for us 5 cops cars came up there like we were criminals, completely insulted... We were all professional people, 1 doctor 2 lawyers, several business owners and my nieces friends and kids. We were highly pissed off and are going to be pursing a lawsuit for discrimination against this place. I even gave the co-owner a chance to make things right even after we left, I emailed her and asked her to come to some resolve on this matter some sort of amicable solution but absolutely no response. In that email I also told her that I was going to take further action against them for this issue. OH BY THE WAY THE SECOND SET OF CHICKEN WAS NOT ALL THE WAY DONE!!!! AND WE HAVE THE PICTURES TO PROVE IT !!!!!

A group of three went for brunch and I ordered the steak and eggs- medium rare. It came out like a charcoal brick. The appetizer buffet didn't warrant a second trip from any of us, and the mimosas were 70% pulp. When the server saw my steak he had my meal comped, but the food was overall so terrible I don't see myself going back. Great service, beautiful bar and dining area.. terrible drinks and food.

I wish I could give 3.5 stars, but 3 will do. I'd been here before for a private dining event, but they'd had guest chefs that day. So, though I was familiar with the interior and ambiance of the place, I was eager to try the food when I'd arrived the other night. Our apps were good: deviled eggs, tuna tartare, poutine, prime rib tacos. Two of our 3 entrees were just average, at best: scallops and halibut. The short rib pot pie, however, was pretty delicious. The pastry was incredible and the portion was huge. Drinks were okay. I had a cocktail that mentioned cucumber, but I couldn't taste it and it was quite sour. Moscow mule was standard; one was quite weak on alchohol while the other 2 were fine. Dessert were also pretty good: carrot cake, chocolate ganache wrapped in phyllo, and apple pie. Service was incredibly slow, but friendly. It wasn't overly busy in there, so we have no idea why everything was taking so long. To sum it up, nothing was terrible and only the pot pie was great. The place is gorgeous, so it made for a pretty evening, but I don't see any of us rushing back.

I work off the K-10 corridor and we're constantly looking for great places to go for business lunches. I was so excited when read in the KC Star that Grand Street was opening a location in Lenexa this fall and couldn't wait for a lunch date. It's been years since I last dined at the original location off the Plaza. At that time I thought the brunch was just good (not great) so I hoped the latest incarnation would take all the things I remember that made the original location once great and elevate them. They have hit a home run out south! We were celebrating my co-worker's birthday and wanted something classy and elegant, that is exactly what Grand Street is. The decor feels luxurious and modern, but still quite warm. Some of the walls are faced in 3D Textured Wall Panels, the back wall is a beautiful cobalt blue and the crystal chandeliers add a touch of sophistication. I enjoyed the Brined Roasted Pork Chop served with crispy ham and Swiss potato gratin, roasted Brussles sprouts, pearl onions and bacon, black cherry sauce. The chop was good, the black cherry sauce was similar to a BBQ sauce, the crispy ham was divine. I will be back for the sprouts (this is not a phrase the six-year-old-me thought I would ever write). We all really enjoyed our food. Our service was a little slow, but I assume that is related to the newness of the restaurant and will be worked out. It wasn't terrible, but it could improve. I inquired with the server if the restaurant had a gluten free menu or if they marked items on the menu that were gluten free. I am starting to see this at more and more restaurants and it makes my life easier. Unfortunately this is not something offered at Grand Street. On a side-note, I noticed the restaurant has a couple of beautiful private rooms. One looked like it could hold about 20 people. The other looked like a ballroom that could host a formal meeting, holiday party or even a wedding reception. How lucky a bride would be to host her special day at Grand Street! Would I go back? Absolutely.

Horrible, if I could give less than one star, I would. We called on December 30 to ask if they were having their happy hour for New Years, we were told they would be having it and to come in. Upon arriving, we stood in the entry without being greeted. We had to approach the hostess ourselves. We told her we wanted drinks by the bar and she said to just on back. All the tables on the walk there were empty and the bar area was 90% free. No "reserved" signs were on tables so, per the hostesses instructions, we sat ourselves. We asked the waitress about specials only to be told there would not be any. We told her about how we called ahead, she went to her manager and, when back, said there was nothing they could do and wouldn't be honoring what we were told on the phone (nevermind the menus we were handed had happy hour pages in them and listed no date exclusions). We communicated our disappointment and she said she would talk to her manager again. After being gone for 5 minutes, she walks up and tells us we have to move because the table we are at is reserved, even though no sign was posted. She pointed out a table to move to, and we moved ourselves with no help from the waitstaff with our drinks. Once there, abandoned by our waitress, we sat waiting for someone to come up. The manager walks over and without apology or apparent remorse, he tells us we need to move again, that our second unmarked table, was reserved as well. He was incredibly rude and essentially treated us like squatters. After repeatedly telling us we needed to move, we let him know we would leave and he walked away. At no point did he offer his regrets that we were told the wrong information on the phone, by the hostess, by our waitress and that we were forced to move a second time. We have been to this location multiple times because of proximity to our neighborhood and the desire to spend our money locally. Every time the seafood is over cooked and the food is below par. This visit is the cherry on top of a series of disappointing experiences at the restaurant and I would strongly encourage anyone interested in visiting to second guess their decision.
