Great food, mind blowing salad, and a huge meal for $15-$20 bucks, but well worth it!
I got the sushi sashimi combo and it was fantastic. It came with an appetizer, miso, two rolls, 8 pieces of sushi and 12 pieces of sashimi. All excellent. I am now in the midst of a sushi coma from so much great fish! Great service too.
This place is soooooo awesome!!!!!! Fishes are so fresh n the food taste so Japanese! Sushi chef treat customers so sweet n The serves are excellent! Shop is tiny but delicate. They deserve 5 stars!

Loved the sandwiches: great bread, fresh ingredients and flavor of the meat. Why go to fast food restaurants if places like this exist?
Wow. This is a hidden gem on the bottom floor of a bank building. Everything food is supposed to be. All homemade and made well. Best sandwich ever... with homemade bread. Free bread ends to go with one of the six soups they have daily.
This place has moved to inside the CoreFirst Bank at 95th St. and I-435. Great, simple lunch place. I had a yummy turkey club sandwich on their homemade wheat bread - everything tasted very fresh - and a bowl of tomato bisque soup. I will be going back!

First time eating there for lunch today and I was blown away! My wife and I both were extremely happy with the quality of food and service. General Tso's Chicken was amazing! It was lightly breaded, sweet and spicy with all white meat chicken and the Moo Goo Gai Pan (which I don't usually like) was delicious! Great Egg Drop Soup, Crab Wontons and Fried Rice! Never seen sprouts in Fried Rice before but it was a very welcome addition! In one fell swoop, Fortune Palace has become my new favorite Chinese Food dine-in/take out/delivery place in the area! If you eat here and are somehow disappointed, I would say it's you that has the problem and not the restaurant! ;-) 5-Stars all day! LOVE it!
A-ok lunch here because the lunch Mongolian beef was great... 4 stars with the tender beef, grilled green onions and fabulous flavor. Everything else was just ok, though I wouldn't crave it again: The Rangoons were made with unusually thick wonton wrapper (which I didn't care for) the plum sauce was on the thin side and had little flavor, the honey chicken was too heavily breaded and the pieces a little smaller than I like. The fried rice was too heavy on the soy sauce. It was all edible, but just not great. The service was attentive; she checked on us often, which we appreciated. The interior was comfortable and we would give other entrees another chance if we are close by as the lunch specials were very reasonably priced, but I won't drive out of the way.
Headed here for dinner when my FIL was visiting from Texas. Claimed he hadn't had good Chinese food in a long time, and it's definitely getting harder and harder for me to find somewhere I actually want to return as well. We ordered the family meal for three, which was more than enough for three adults and two kids!! Soup, appetizers and three entrees. We decided on mu-shu chicken, singapore noodles and beef with garlic sauce. While some of the appetizers (everything from crab rangoon and egg rolls to spare ribs and chicken wings) were a bit heavy, none of our entrees were oversauced and all seemed reasonably healthy. The service was also good. The only negative was the tables - they had a really sticky cleaning film on them and we had to try out a few before we found one that wasn't.

This is a great place to grab a quick buffet lunch without spending a lot of money or time fighting through a crowd. The dining room is small, and the buffet is not expansive, there are about 8 entrees to choose from, as well as soups, egg rolls, rangoons, spring rolls, rice, noodles. Entrees are the standards( Broccoli Beef, Cashew Chicken, Gen. Tsaos Beef, Sesame chicken. ) One dish I find intriguing is Potato chicken,. which are fry-like potato slivers sauteed with chicken and spices, particularly pepper. Very Good. Another high point in the selections are the Chinese green beans, perfectly seasoned and flash fired to a crispy crunch! Buffet and a soda is less that $7. The same lady has attended the dining room every time I am there, and is very attentive to keeping your drinks filled. Nestled in a strip mall next to Rhimann Liquors, its easy to pass up. Not fancy by any means but a good place to invest the $7 for a filling and satisfying lunch.
I was excited to try this place after reading review upon review singing praises about the food. I won't be going back. The only reason it's getting two stars is because the chicken lo mein that I ordered for my kids was good. My General Tso chicken, on the other hand, was not. It was obviously the left over from the buffet (which had already been pulled by the time I arrived). It was hard and nearly inedible. I've had fresh GT chicken so I know what it's supposed to taste like. Afterwards, my stomach was upset so overall, not a good experience.
Authentic Cantonese style Chinese food. When people ask us about Chinese food in greater KC area, this is the place that I will tell them to go. I can't remember the exact dish names, but we always order tofu pot and stew pork with preserved vegetables. We haven't tried the buffet there, so can't comment on the quality of the buffet. But when we ordered from the Chinese menu the food quality has always been excellent.

Mi Ranchito

Happy hour and dinner with a girlfriend of mine. We were looking for margaritas and were happy with the size, the price, and the strength of the drinks. They complimented the chips and salsa (both of which were delicious, and the queso is suupper) and our meals well. I had some variety of enchilada which had just enough sauce to cover but not drown the plate. The chicken could have used a bit more seasoning but I'm reaching/nit picking there. I liked the rice too. Some places, their rice is dry or overcooked, but this wasn't. I'd return!
Even though Mi Ranchito is close to our home, we only recently made our first visit. I think the location (basically adjacent to an auto repair place) and the history (some crazy mf-er decided to spike the salsa with some kind of toxin once upon a time) combined to keep us away. In hindsight, that was a mistake. I'm not about to declare Mi Ranchito the Champion of All Mexican Restaurants, but it was pretty good. If the food was maybe just a tiny more unique/spicy/awesome, I'd go five stars. But four ain't so bad... Chips and salsa? AOK. The espinacha dip? Pretty darn good. Our entrees? Substantial portions that were above average. Service? Really, really good. The smiling/attentive/polite/efficient kind of service that's way too uncommon. One of our kids left a very precious stuffed animal/life companion behind. We called Mi Ranchito and they had Monkey Dunkey safely put aside. When I came to grab the little fella, they had him right up front, ready for me.
Love this place!!! Actual shredded beef tacos!! Great Espinaca dip ! All food is good here

First, let me say that this place is just a hop, skip, and jump from my door, so...my review might be a little biased based on convenience. The people that run/work at this place can be a bit indifferent, but...I love the food. Everything I've had is delicious, and I always get take-out, so I can deal with the not-so-friendly service for a couple of minutes. I tend to find something I like and stick with it, which at Holy Land is the number 11. Gyro meat, rice, hummus, and a salad that I always pay extra to sub grilled veggies for. It's tasty and only about $7. They also have an AMAZING shredded lamb dish on the weekends that I can't remember the name of, but it's definitely not a regular menu item. Another plus is that they have pistachio baklava which is super rare (most places just have the regular variety).
Every time we've been, the food has been spectacular and the wait staff attentive. The lunch menu pricing is fantastic, especially considering how much food you get. We went for dinner last time and I had the Beef Gyro Plate. The meat was so flavorful and tender. The pita bread was soft and warm. The only thing I'd change is to not have so much rice with the dinner, but instead find another not-so-starchy side to go with the dinner. It was too much food and rice (as much as I like it) is empty calories. Ah well, I still wish there was one in Topeka!
We walked in and were immediately asked if we were ordering to go or sitting down to eat. We were eating there, so we were told to pick a table. My little sis (who is staying with us for a month and is constantly surrounded by Middle Eastern-type cuisine where she lives) ordered a plate of stuffed grape leaves, which is listed as an appetizer. Husband ordered lamb curry and I got lamb biryani. Everything was delicious. The biryani had a bit of heat to it. My sister ate those stuffed grape leaves, closed her eyes and said how happy she was. With the Arabic music playing in the background and those stuffed grape leaves, she felt like she was at home. A young woman took our drink orders then came back over for our food order. A few minutes later a gentleman came over to ask what we wanted, because she had forgotten. She seemed really confused, so I wasn't surprised. Maybe she was new. Our meals came with a salad or soup. It was very hot in the place, so soup was not going to happen. The salad was very tasty. I had hoped that since my little sis had ordered ONLY grape leaves, that they would bring it out with the rest of the meal, but they brought it out early when they brought out our salads. She's a slow eater, so it all worked out. Overall, while they were not overly friendly, they were polite. I'm not one of those that NEEDS real friendly. As long as the waters stay full and you provide me with everything I ordered, I'm good. We will probably go back before my sister leaves because of how much she liked it, (this was the first place that she has LOVED that we've taken here besides ice cream places) but we'll definitely be going back after she leaves as well.

I think I came at an off time. Many of the more authentic items on the menu were not available because the regular chef was on vacation. The Spicy Noodles with pork was OK and the eggrolls were good and very fresh. I'll give this one another time to try some of the other dishes.
A delightful escape from the every-day! My husband and I enjoy Sweet Siam often. Their delicious appetizer Egg Rolls, Crispy Tofu, Chicken Satay, Coconut Soup, and the Thai salad, Pad Thai, and Beef Masaman have never left us room to try the famous Coconut Cake. I think we will have to come back just for that, and soon! I can't wait to try it, and savor it with another favorite of ours, their intensely wonderful Thai Iced Coffee. Sweet Siam Thai Bistro is a lovely find! Their friendly staff, charming decor, and ease of destination & parking make it all the better.
This place has some great Thai food. I judge any Thai place by their pad Thai dish. Theirs was decently sized and had a nice heat without being overwhelming. Their also comes with chicken and shrimp together...which is almost unheard of. Service was quick and without complaint. The only draw back is that they much have been without air conditioning the day I went because it was very hot inside and they had fans running all over.

Monday is definitely the day to go. We had $3 32oz beers to start. Server brought us breadsticks (if you sign up for text offers at the counter the breadsticks are free) and if you order a large pizza for the Monday night special price of $9.99 (they will discount a specialty pizza as well) you get two free kids meals. That combined with the Yelp Check-in offer of 20% a large pizza made this an affordable night. We had a Tuscan Chicken pizza. The chicken was sysco pre cooked, pre sliced. Not cooked on site, but not bad for me. I liked it. However one of my mates did not care for the chicken at all. The second pizza was the Luau pizza with bacon, pineapple and almonds. Bacon makes everything better. Prices for a specialty 12 cut pizza were up there....$23. Little hefty for me. Glad to be there on a discount night. My only gripe was that the salad came out with the pizza instead of prior to the pizza. Would have been nice. Did not care for the green house dressing but that did not kill the salad. Overall the crust was thin and a little flaky for my taste, but good nonetheless. Next time we are in town we'll be back. On a monday!
Pleasantly surprised at how good the pizza was. Both sons and I enjoyed the pizza and atmosphere very much. Would highly recommend to others.
Great, great, great. Awesome service, great food, icy cold beers, great music, nice atmosphere and good menu. We stopped off here as my daughter loves Mac and Cheese on her pizza and this place has the Mac Daddy Pizza. I am so glad we found this place. After a day of running around with two pre teen girls this was the break we needed. From the minute we walked in we were made to feel welcome. Our server was great. He checked in on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed but did not pester us like some servers can do. By the time we finished our meal I made the comment to my wife that if we lived near there it would probably be a regular place to visit. Sadly we are just in town on vacation.

Inside Crowne Plaza, a full service hotel, is the Bistro. I like the cleanness of the Bistro, and the floors. It's really a great way to start the day. I'm not sure if any other meals are offered in the eating space itself, but breakfast is my experience. The breakfast bar usually consists of fruit, cottage cheese, and yogurt. Waffle maker so you can help yourself. Biscuit and gravy, potatoes, eggs, and meats. So, lots of choices here, along with bread and pastries. I was pretty happy with all the breakfast meals here. The only thing is the oatmeal. I never had any because it seems I could just take out the entire pot by just sticking a fork in it and lifting it up. Maybe it just sits for a while and becomes a solid mass, but I like my oatmeal to be just a little bit thinner.

Kind of reminded me of a Subway kind of place but better. They make the bread fresh every morning, slice the meat and cheese as they prepare your sandwich - it isn't precut and stacked which allows it to get that slimey coating. Had a $5.00 footlong - mesquite turkey/cheddar/etc etc. Very fresh and tasty. These places are dotted around the midwest and I even checked their website and saw there were a few in Colorado (though they are located in the northern suburban boonies).
