Brewbakers Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Not your standard sports bar. Good atmosphere, good folk, fun time. Decent gluten free menu but would have liked to see a few gluten free beers too. Ruben and fries (waffle and regular) were yummy but the French Dip sandwich left me wanting more. We'll definitely be back.

Came back to this restaurant because we love the food. I had the fire burger or something like that and it was amazing. I ordered a beer that was basically blue moon with a hint of orange liquor, and it was room temp. My husband mentioned it to the waitress, and she asked what we wanted her to do about it. I asked for maybe a frozen mug or something... Then she went and asked the bartenders. They said its because they are mixing warm alcohol and beer. Then she gave me a cup of ice. It was pretty stupid. The service there kinda sucks. At least the food is good.

Me and a buddy were looking for a good place to watch the NFL playoffs and enjoy a few good craft beers - so we decided to check this place out. It definitely fits the bill as a sports bar, as by my rough estimate there are approximately 1 million TVs in there - so big positive there. The craft beer list is solid, and the food was quite good (especially the waffle fries!). My one complaint was some of the beer was priced a bit high, and prices aren't listed on the chalkboard. $9.50 for a 12 oz. pour of Odell Deconstruction is maybe a tad high. Being a respectful customer, I paid without complaint, but I will be asking and more aware of beer prices next time. Positives: -Good craft beer menu -TV's, TV's, and more TV's. Great place to watch a game, can't wait for the NCAA basketball tourney. -Solid bar/grill kind of food - the waffle fries are definitely a favorite. -Outdoor patio and bar. It was too cold to be in use yet, but this will be fun in the warmer months. Negatives: -Some high beer prices, I'd recommend asking before buying. I had some high hopes for Brewbakers, and it really paid off as a solid sports bar with a lot of great craft beer on tap. This place really fills a void in this part of the city and I hope it does well - I'll be back!

First time here and really not understanding some of the low ratings other Yelpers gave. Perhaps a little time has solved Brewbakers previous issues. Pleasantly surprised with the drinks, food, and service here - especially the service. Couple beers, pretzel appetizer, and two sandwiches for about forty bucks wasn't a bad lunch time deal for the quality. Farm to Market bread everywhere on the menu - big thumbs up for this. Truly appreciate a local business supporting another local business TVs everywhere for sporting events and a lively atmosphere make Brewbakers worth a second trip.

Just moved to Kansas from Oklahoma. Wish there was a bar like this there. Love the multiple beers on tap, that they rotate. Have been there multiple times. Can't believe this is bar food!!! Try the pretzel and salmon blt, not that any thing has not been better than any restaurant I've been to here in Kansas, or OK. As for a bartender, gotta love Candice. Remembers your name, all the beers you drank the last time, and what you liked. The welcoming high five she gave you let's you know no matter how she feels that day, she wants to give you the best experience she can. Try it. Will not be disappointed!!!

Food and service was average. I won't go back though because average doesn't cut it when there are a ton of great places to eat in this town. Main reason I won't try it again is because it's simply way to noisy. I couldn't wait to get out of there.

Food was amazing and beer selection will blow your mind. Cheesesteak is quality steak and taste out of this world. Great place to watch football too staff was very friendly and attentive as well !

I've been for happy hour and lunch and have been happy both times. The HH drink specials are pretty good including reasonable well and Boulevard beer pints. All appetizers are half-price during HH as well, and dining companions who ordered the loaded waffle fries were very pleased. Overall the food prices are a bit steep for what you get, but the food is tasty. Their daily specials make things a bit more reasonable. Wednesday's special is $6.99 chicken sandwiches and burgers are on special earlier in the week. I got the Bleu Chicken sandwich on my recent visit, and my dining companion got the Wrangler, which is bacon wrapped. Both were tasty. My one complaint was that the server did not tell me the veggies as a side were extra, even though upon learning the side salad cost extra, I'd ordered the veggies instead...other than that, the service was reasonably quick. Since there is nothing really stand-out about this place, it gets a solid three stars.

We walked in on a Saturday night around 9pm. Tried to find anyone to get us seated or someone to ask questions. Staff was too busy with their "real" jobs to pay any attention to us. The place is extremely loud (yes, even for a sports bar).. as in, you could not hear a person sitting near you. After wandering around for a few minutes, we just left. And we went to the Blue Moose not far that's always good. Well, they missed a good check that night AND many future others. I'll never be back.

This place is awesome. TVs anywhere you look, every major game you could want to see, great food, tons of cool craft beer, and a full bar.

I can't speak to their main menu. My friend and I tried and split two appetizers, some cheese fries and the nacho platter. Neither were outstanding but not bad. The waitress Kara C was pleasant at first. I first ordered the Mother's Makin' Trouble. She didn't know how much it cost, but I certainly would soon find out. My friend then ordered a Buffalo Sweat Vanilla Bean, which she said was on special for $4 per 20 oz. I then clearly said to her, "I'll have what he is having instead," to be clear, not after she came back with the beer, this was all during one interaction with her. It wasn't busy or hectic out on the patio, and it was just my one friend and I ordering. After I finished the first beer, I ordered another of the same. As we were getting ready to head out, the two checks which I thought would be identical, having both of us ordered 2 beers on special each and splitting both appetizers, his $17 dollar bill to my $30-something bill seemed odd, and I immediately realized what the error had been. I politely addressed it to Kara, who took it to the manager. She came back with a $25 bill, with the manager (didn't get his name) following behind her. I politely called him over and explained to him what caused the issue and I requested he charge me for what I ordered, not what the waitress brought out. My friend chimed in and tried to corroborate my complaint. He said "I'll go ahead and eat the cost of the first, but not the second. That's an expensive beer." They do have a wide selection of beer. Kara C is not the server you want. Make sure you don't change your mind on your order before the server leaves the table, no matter who serves you, because apparently the manager doesn't "eat the cost" of his servers' inattentiveness. I told him that I don't like paying for half of someone else's mistake and I'm sure you don't either, so now you've been warned about how they do business here. Having worked as a server myself, it infuriates me to know how many freeloading snobs get whatever they want but I have to pay for an error I wasn't responsible for and then get that type of response from a manager. His handling of the situation burned hundreds of dollars I would have spent there on their wide beer selection just to charge me the cost of an $11 beer brought to me on account of his server's mistake. This was my first and only experience there and it will certainly remain my only one. What a stupid way to treat a patron.

Hey I like this place! We had a lunch of apps and beer. It was seat yourself and they needed help bussing tables, obviously.. but we found a clean one and ha d a seat. We had cold beer in 22oz plastic cups. Which BTW I love. They were pretty thick so we take them home and reuse them. Believe it or not I prefer my beer out of plastic! We shared some wings, fried pickles, truffle fries and I had a side salad out of guilt. Wings were kinda skinny but cooked well, not tough and sauced plenty. Even brought some extra. Truffle fries were plentiful but the shredded parm needed t be melted a bit. The park just fell off the fries. No worries I was able to fork it up some! The fried pickles were planks vs. Chips. The weren't cooked enough and the breading was too flour-y. Side salad was OK, I didn't know it had red peppers and pickled onions on it (yuck) but that's my bad I guess. Tunnel vision. Server was great, attentive. Next time were in town we'll return.

We have eaten in here a bunch of times since I work across the street. LOVE IT!!! The food is fantastic! Great sandwich specials during the week and fast service during the lunch hour. Tons of TV's if you go to watch a game.... Get there early if its game day though because they get BUSY!!

  • Perry B.

The restaurant is clean, spacious, and has enough TVs to please everyone. I would definitely recommend the fried pickles for an appetizer. The patio is spacious and great for a weekend our with friends.

This place has no ventilation system. Had a couple beers on a Tuesday night. The places smells like a grease fire. Decent service, here to watch baseball.

Went here for lunch as the location is close to our office. The trip started out tricky as I came through the door closest to the street and parking lot. Being my first time I was lost and wondered if I sat myself or if someone seats me. Through the sunlight I saw at the other end of the restaurant the hostess stand in front of the door coming in from the patio...not a show-stopper, but confusing nonetheless. I opted for a cold beer. They had a great selection to choose from and I was pretty to please being that it was Friday at noon. The Boulevard beer special was still pretty pricy, but like I said. It was Friday - I had tunnel vision! There is a wide variety of food here from the healthier side to the burger lover and even the seafood or pizza side. It would be hard to find someone that couldn't find something to eat here. (Cue the picky eater comments :)) I ordered the Hot Chicken which actually pretty "foodie-like" for a bar. It had a jalapeno relish and pickled peppers and was very good. The fries did their job by not letting me stop eating them until I needed a nap. The other orders around the table consisted of burgers, phillys, veggie sandwiches and wraps and I didn't hear a groan from anyone. I would go back and being that it is close to work and has good beer I am sure I will.

Good beer, bartenders where great. Very good choices with different beers around the area. My only complaint is that I am not from here and asked for a sample of a beer and was told they don't do that here. I am not trying a new beer that I have never tasted and hating it and not wanting to drink it. Come on, really!? I have been to lots of brewery's all over the country, check my reviews and not one of them said no to a sample. I am not a sampler whore, just new to the area and wanted to try a local beer before I ordered it. I will come here again, love the sports atmosphere, just wont try anything new.

Amazeballs! This place is so good. It has a varied menu and lots of different seasonal draft selections. I had the buffalo chicken wrap and I have 2 words for you: Truffle Fries. Get them. Diet schmiet. Those fries are to die for. The service was great and fast. I highly recommend :)

This place seems to be fairly new. We were greeted and seated fairly quickly, and our drink orders were taken fairly quickly. Excellent customer service. I had the Shroom Swiss Burger. The burger had a good flavor, cooked to my request, and juicy. I wasn't sure about the truffle fries--it was rather too salty and warm. I like hot taters. The pickled onion was awesome; added great flavor to the burger. Thanks. If I'm in the area again, it'll be on my list to eat again. By the way, I'm traveling for business.

I've been in here three times now and had mixed experiences. The menu has your average Applebees-esque options. There is a wrap (I think it's called buffalo chicken?) that is really good, and the fries are awesome. The quesadilla on the apps menu is good and large enough to order as an entree. Once I got a friendly, helpful, attentive server who we really enjoyed. Another time I had one who took three tries to get us beers because of menu changes not marked on the happy hour menu that she wasn't aware of, and then she ended up charging us full price for the fourth choice beer anyway. At that point we didn't even argue we just paid and left. I'm sure we'll be back, but mostly because the location is convenient.

Upscale sports bar theme with lackluster service. My family and I have visited Brewbakers at least 3 times since its opening. I enjoy the decor and the beer selection -- and that's about it. Service is embarassing. My family and I are frequently left waiting at the door for a minute before even being acknowledged. At our last visit, four nights ago, we were left standing for over 2 minutes. Finally, I wandered around the restaurant and found a slew of waitstaff at the drink station eating chips and salsa, laughing loudly. They, of course, apologized; however, this experience reflects the general lack of focus on customer service I have had at this restaurant. The menu looks enticing. The food is hit-or-miss. My wife and I both ordered burgers at our last visit, hers was ordered medium rare, mine was medium. Both were served well done, dry and grey in the middle. The pickled onions on all the burgers need to be 86'd. They overwhelm any other flavors on the sandwich. I will grant Brewbakers this: they can make a great order of truffle-parmesian fries (which is the only reason we occasionally frequent this place). Brewbakers has great potential -- it's a great location, a well-appointed facility. Management needs spruce up service and attention to perfecting the menu in order to make this mediocre sports bar worthy of my hard-earned dollar.

Another lunch spot at the new job, conveniently across the street. Stopped in with some of the guys for a burger last week and was pleasantly surprised. The first thing I noticed was the plethora of TVs. This place is almost wall to wall screens. The building is clean and decorated well. Menu-wise it's the norm for a sports bar: burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc. I ended up ordering a french dip with waffle fries. Definitely a good choice. Tasty french bread with a nice au jus. Good, but unremarkable overall. Still one of the better choices in the area, though.

Brewbakers continues to slowly impress me. The brunch is sooooo amazing! A way better deal than most competitors and they really outdo themselves with the options!

We ate here with a group of six before the official grand opening, but I'm not sure I ever need to go back. The decor is really nice and the upscale sports bar theme is nice. Other than that I was unimpressed. The food was pricey and not as good as Johnny's or Tanner's sports bar-type food. The brewburger was decent, but for the price I expected something more. The fries were pretty average. My wife had the beer cheese soup and a salad and she wasn't really impressed by either. We ordered the pretzel sticks as an appetizer. The cheese dip was pretty good, but the pretzel sticks kind of sucked. Our waitress also had a horrible attitude. When a member of our party asked about the "craft beer" selections that was hyped in the menu, she told him he could walk across the restaurant and read them for himself off a chalk board. She delivered our food really slowly and awkwardly, and made a lot of comments or remarks that made it seem like we were inconveniencing her if we asked for another beer or more water. I suppose Brewbakers best comparison is the Blue Moose. I'd probably rather go to Blue Moose for food or to Johnny's to watch a game. Kind of disappointing. I had high hopes for this place.

Some of the best bar food around. Try the salmon with risotto. And if you need a brunch place on Sunday their buffet is amazing and build your own Bloody Mary bar did the trick!

Cold drinks were cold. Very tasty fish and chips. Nice and spaceous inside. Plenty of TVs. Fun place to go with friends in Lenexa close to Lifetime Fitness and Perceptive Software. I will be baaaaack.

I have been here several times now and each experience has been overall positive. The food is better than average for a place that could also be described as a sports bar. There are always lots of quality draft choices as well. It is a great place to hang out and watch a game or gather with friends. The steak salad and the Reuben are two of my favorites here. The nachos are great! I would recommend. Caution though, when KU is playing get there early if you want a seat and if crowds annoy you then don't bother during a KU game.

    (4)
  • Nancy M.

Nice new sports bar with a zillion TVs. I recommend the Reuben and the nachos. Huge beer selection. Ask for Helena. She is a top rate server. I recommend this sports bar for the big game.

    (4)
  • Kevin M.

Solid food for a sports bar. Great beer menu and ok service. One thing that bugged me was that they didn't have beer prices on their beer menu and didn't have prices posted anywhere else either. Might be the only place I've ever been that wouldn't do this. Otherwise, good experience.

  • Tony P.

Very disappointed. Went twice for a second chance, but had the same experience. Food was overpriced and mediocre. Service failed and seemed to lack management. Lots of TV for sports and decent atmosphere, but that doesn't make up the difference for me. This place has potential, but it's ultimately up to management/owners.

    (2)
  • Kiley H.

Awesome fish and chips and great service. Fabulous for watching sporting events with their huge wall of TVs. Gets busy very quickly when there is a big game on though, so you have to get there early.

  • Meg L.

Ewwww. Went in today and some of the staff are REALLY inappropriately dressed for serving FOOD AT NOON. I do not want to see your belly, back tattoos, or ARMPIT while I am having lunch. Gross and really really inappropriate. Even Hooters has a dress code. I called to complain and there was no manager on duty. Could be the issue.

I work nearby, and so end up here frequently for lunch. I've always been impressed. I've had good luck with the barley soup and a couple different sandwiches. Last time, they had a good chicken sandwich on special for $6 at lunch. They have a large patio that's nice. And I haven't had any of the bad servers other reviewers have had. I've had new servers, but they've always been shadowed by a more competent person. Overall - it's good bar food in an upscale-ish atmosphere.

  • Joe S.

This place is across the street from my office. It's great for grabbing a quick lunch. It's also good place for happy hours. The food price is really good. Service is quick, which is great for a decently quick lunch. In the bar area they have lots of TVs, so there are always games on. The daily specials are also good, I like going on Wednesday for Chicken day.

Was going to try the spot Friday night. Came with a group of 5. Would've waited, but the sound in this place is so noisey that you would have to SHOUTat the person next to you that you are holding hands with! Unbelievable! Don't know how someone could even order! I like a happening restaurant, but they sure made a mistake in the design of the interior to handle typical restaurant noise. There are too many other good places in this town to choose from with good food, good prices, and a decent enviroment to eat and drink in. We left and went to another large restaurant that was packed...but at least we could hear each other talk during dinner. All 5 of us lost interest in ever going back to Brewbakers.

  • Brian H.

Food is mediocre and they put pickled veggies on everything. It's just another sysco food restaurant. If they want to be around a while, they need to increase the quality and consistency of their food. Make your money off liquor sales but keep them coming back for more than mediocre food!

    (2)
  • Jesse H.

Nice place. Lots of tvs!!! Pretty good selection of craft beers. They have a nice meeting space which can seat 20-30 (i could be off). Large place with a nice patio. Visit this place!.

The music is ridiculously loud, you can't even carry on a conversation. The food is not very good, with little flavor. The only good thing was the drinks and appetizers, otherwise it's not worth the money.

Last Sunday afternoon (2/24/13) my husband and I, along with another couple stumbled upon Brewbaker's on our way to another restaurant. We decided to try it and I was bowled over. Our server on that first visit, Molly, was excellent. She was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and about the extensive list of microbrews the restaurant carries on tap. After describing the type of beer I enjoy Molly made an excellent recommendation. We started out with a couple of appetizers - the fresh stuffed jalapeno poppers and the smothered waffle fries. The poppers were out of this world amazing; stuffed with a combination of cream cheese and cheddar and then wrapped in bacon- they had some kick to 'em. And these weren't your average jalapenos, they were monster-sized, probably four or five inches long. The waffle fries were good, too. They were drowning in queso and sour cream and dusted with bacon. After those giant appetizers my husband and I decided just to split the Sunday special, the hand pounded pork tenderloin. It was good, all tender and juicy. The breading was designed to be a little softer than I'm used to (as opposed to super crunchy), but it was really nice. And splitting it was more than ample for the two of us. So I spent all week thinking about our good experience at Brewbaker's and decided that I needed to go back for dinner on Thursday night (2/28/13). Our visit was enjoyable, but we would probably order differently next time, maybe just sticking with the tenderloin or trying a burger. Our server, I don't remember her name, was very nice and attentive (even though the restaurant was much busier this time). I ordered a beer (unfortunately there were a couple I wanted to try that they were out of), but settled on the Deschutes Red Chair - a very good make. I went with the Buffalo chicken wrap - good with a little kick, but not the best BCW in the city. The Buffalo sauce had a spice in it that I didn't love - not bad, just different and unexpected - and it may have been cinnamon. IDK that this dish would be my first choice the next time I visit. My husband had the Mac and cheese with ham, he said it was another case of close but no cigar. He said he probably wouldn't order that again, either. All in all I would say the food is good - we really enjoyed everything from our first visit and the food was not bad on our second visit. Our second visit just may not have been our favorite versions of the dishes that we ordered. I read another review on Yelp that discussed the staff's attire, but all I noticed were college t-shirts. I did see a bartender in a KU tank top, but was not offended at all by this (I would be less offended if she were wearing a K-State tank top, but I digress). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this bar and grill to colleagues or families. The décor is classic sports bar. I think I counted 62,378 televisions tuned to various sporting matches. This will be a great place to watch some March Madness! I am glad to have a great sports bar in the neighborhood. I will definitely go back.

This place is newer and we need more restaurants in Lenexa, so the fact that we have a new place to try is pretty great in my book! I have been here lots of times. Plenty of big TVs. Great place to watch a game. Happy with the food. The fried pickles are really good. Great patio. Per another reviewer I agree it is really loud in here. The acoustics were such that I had to yell across the table. It also isn't very kid friendly. Not that I expect a bar to be kid friendly but sometimes we take our kids to watch a game or something and eat. The service is normally average to below average. Overall I like it though and will go again.

Brewbakers is a great place in Johnson County to get some craft brews, good food, and watch a game. It's pretty trendy feeling inside. I'm sure they had your typical Johnson County residents in mind when they opened. Lots of TVs everywhere for when the Royals are on (and the Chiefs)! Really great tap selection with some unique beers on, unfortunately I had already had most of them before (Good or bad thing...) Service was very good and friendly. I ordered the Wrangler Burger and a couple beers. The burger was super good. Not the best I've had but the best anywhere in this area for sure! One of my beers was a little stale and I've heard from some other beer lovers that the kegs tend to sit a while here. Unfortunately the KC craft beer community is centered far from western Lenexa so I wasn't surprised. They also had $2.50 PBR tallboys that I had to finish with. With the meager selection of craft beer bars here in JOCO, Brewbakers is doing a good thing and I hope people continue to give them business. Beware, it is pretty pricey in my opinion....

Some buddies and I visited here for Monday Night Football and I ordered a beer sampler. The fist beer tasted like dish soap was left in the glass. I sent it back with the waitress and the owner/manager refused to bring me a new one. We are talking like 4oz of beer to make a customer happy and fix there issue. Last time I will visit here.

We stopped in for lunch today and were very pleasantly surprised. Our server, Meghan, was great! Very attentive and a terrific personality--she made some excellent recommendations too. I had the bacon cheddar burger while Mary had a wrap and cup of squash soup. Everything was hot, fresh and tasty. They had a couple of rooms for large groups, too.

Brewbakers! When I first heard about this establishment, my friend had told me it was "just some boring sports bar, like all the others". But when I visited I felt more of an upscale sports bar, but with a GREAT selection of beers on tap! I honestly don't remember how many, but I tried about 8 of the craft beers. They were great and a few of them rotate! My cousin is good friends with two of the bartenders and they were just awesome to me. They were amiable and chatty and they were that way with all the patrons of the bar. They also offered suggestions on what I should drink next, even a delicious nitro stout-raspberry wheat fusion that was freaking great. I will be back. I want to try those bomb ass pretzels I saw.

Thanks Brewbakers for having The Calling IPA last weekend! I've been to Brewbakers previously for work outings since it's located by my office, but this last weekend I went with my husband in search of the new Boulevard beer. We'd gone by another OP restaurant that claimed to have it, only to find it was tapped out after one day. We then placed a call to Brewbakers after seeing someone had checked in with that brew on a beer site. Brewbakers said they had plenty, so we made our way over there for lunch. They did have The Calling and it was very tasty. I also had a chicken dinner (really affordable and pretty tasty, though a bit greasy on the skin) and my husband had a burger and some of the best fries we've had yet. He also had the cinnamon roll bread pudding for dessert. Our waitress was quick and attentive and the food was good. I'll have to come by more often.

The "watering hole" of choice for our company, because of its convenient location, on tap selection, and great menu. If you are looking to watch a game or wanting to enjoy an afternoon on a patio, this is great choice. While the menu is mostly bar food, it's delicious bar food and they do have healthy-ish selections too. Fish n' chips are my personal favorite. I also strongly recommend the truffle fries.

This is hands down the worst bar and grille I have ever been to. The music is way too loud and the food is mediocre at best. The service is also horrible. Thanks for wasting my time.

Went there for lunch and we ordered 4 burgers, the waitress was like she was really bothered to help us. we had asked for a side of mayo for one of the burgers and when the bill came there was a 25 cent charge for the mayo. you would have thought that the waitress would have said there was a charge for the mayo, but she wasn't that smart. i asked for the manager who was just as clueless and she told me that it was the policy to charge for mayo. Hmmmmm, thats funny it wasn't on the menu as charge. so the offered to refund my 25 cents and told them to keep it since we would never come back. Hard to believe the stupidity of management to charge for a condiment.

Love Brewbakers! A great spot to meet friends at the bar or have a private party in the back. Consistently awesome service from the bar and wait staff. All types feel welcome here and the bartenders remember your name. 5 stars for service and beer/wine/liquor selection. 4 stars for food. My food has experience has been hit or miss but there is a new revamped menu that I've heard is great! Keep it up BB

Good bar, good place to watch a game. Good bear selection but wished they had Guinness on tap that's why I'm not going to give them 5 astars. Decent food, decent staff. Prices a little high. Has a patio but the bar outside is limited and it has smaller TV's so it's not a good option to watch a sporting event outside. I like the manager...yo Broad!

I have been here twice now in the last month. The food is good and priced well. The beer selection is good. I've been seated and served very quickly and have not had any issues with the wait staff that others have mentioned. My main gripe about Brewbakers is WHY DOES THE MUSIC HAVE TO BE SO FREAKING LOUD?! I could seriously not hold a conversation with my wife who was sitting 3 feet across from me. To add to the noise there was a restaurant full of people yelling at each other so they could try and carry a conversation as well. I looked around me and I saw a bunch of families and groups of adults. What I did not see was a dance floor full of 19 year olds with neon sunglasses and glow sticks, chewing on pacifiers. But they appear to be the target audience for whoever controls the musical onslaught at Brewbakers. Honestly, if they would turn down the music a few decibels, this would be one of my preferred places to eat in the area. Until then, check out Brewbakers if you've ever wondered what it would be like to have a hamburger in Abu Gharib prison.

Avoid like the plague. Service is awful and management doesn't care. I won't waste time with the whole scenario but let's just say I never did get my food or drink.

Met a bunch of co-workers here for a HDHH (Hump Day Happy Hour) and had a good time despite the service. I was the first in our party to arrive and was promptly greeted and helped to pull together a couple of tables for our group. That was nice and the employee who helped me was very friendly. I was provided with a draught beer menu by our waitress a few minutes later. The menu, which was really quite extensive, was incredibly difficult to read. It was tiny black print on a dark red background in a relatively dark bar. Who thinks this is a good idea? I had to pull out my phone to light the beer menu in order to read it. Unfortunately, the beer menu was not up-to-date and our waitress didn't explain what was not on it up front which would have saved me about ten minutes of trying to make a decision, part of which was spent squinting and trying to read the small print. Arggh. Aside from that, the service was really slow. Reallllllly slow. There were several of us, but our waitress would bring out one or two drinks at a time. Does Brewbakers frown on trays? At one point, our waitress told one of the people in our party, "I'm new and I'm not very good at my job." Not sure why she offered up this tidbit, but it wasn't prompted by any sort of complaint as we were all just enjoying each other's company while ignoring the fairly crappy service. Brewbakers is really close to my work, so I would imagine that I will have occasion to return due to proximity. I wouldn't balk about it as it does serve its purpose, it just doesn't do it in a particularly outstanding way.

Ate here the other night for a casual family birthday party. I didn't expect much from the food because it's a sports bar but the food was amazing. I had the steak salad and I'd recommend that and will probably have that again the next time I go there. The service was spot on and even with all the TVs on and the place being packed it wasn't super loud. The environment is clean and inviting. If you're a beer fan, they've got a list with a few you will for sure like on it. It's huge. (That's what she said). I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but if someone wanted it I'd love to go along.
