I love seafood and I haven't been to a restaurant in KC that does it better and affordable than this place. Yes, it's a national chain but they seem to keep a good standard on the quality of their food and their service. The appetizers that we like are the bang bang shrimp and the ahi tuna sashimi. The entrée that we always order is the pecan parmesan crusted rainbow trout. The seasonal vegetables the last time we came here was spaghetti squash and I had a couscous side as well. If you get dessert, I would recommend the creme brulee which they do right with a thick custard layer and just a thin candy sugar layer (not a thick glass layer). The one thing that I could note about this location is that in the main dining area I sometimes l feel like I am the youngest person there and I am definitely not young anymore. If you feel a little old there too I would suggest getting a drink at the bar first and perhaps eat at the nearby community tables, it's a different dining experience.

Very slow Friday afternoon/evening. They open at 4:00. We walked in close after opening and were welcomed. The bar needs to have its specials/happy hour in writing. We've been there 3 times during Happy Hour and have gotten quoted and charged 3 different prices ordering the exact same drink. Don't charge per "pour", charge per drink. The bartenders need to be on the same page. The bar was slow yet very impersonal. Took 20 minutes to get our salads then our meals came as we were eating our salads. Poor timing. After we were done with dinner bartender just gave us bill, didn't ask if we wanted another drink or anything. We were going to order another drink, but felt like we were being rushed (it was NOT busy), so we went next door for another drink. Have been pleased in the past. Not this time. was hoping 3rd time a charm, not so. May give it one more chance.?!?

The bang bang shrimps is truly to die for..creamy..crunchy and perfectly cooked...the wood grilled trout was cooked nicely and went well with garlic potatoes...the chicken teriyaki on other hand was a bit sloppy..with some rice not cooked enough..but overall a good experience! !

Crowded Saturday evening...no reservations...no problem. We sat at a small table in the bar area. Food outstanding ... Bang Bang + Crab cakes for appetizer, and we split the Pecan Encrusted Trout. Plenty of food... Plenty of Fun,!

This is only a review of the bar area. We have been in several times to grab a drink and appetizer only to find no one serves us. Bar area with no servers on one occasion and twice the staff have talking to each other or doing side work while we wait for service. We have walked out before after waiting 5-10 minutes to be even addressed and twice mentioned it to the management. We don't expect immediate service but not to be helped at all is really poor. Staff seems to be just hanging out with friends more often than working. We have given them way too many chances and now take our business to Gaslight Grill. They are packed during dinner hours so I am guessing business is strong and they have no need to address these service issues.

Bonefish Grill restaurant has an intimate setting and offers a unique dining experience for adults. It is the restaurant for those who are passionate about seafood, in the mood for a juicy steak or seeking a new adventure in cuisine. The Mussels Josephine is a succulent dish of Prince Edward Island Mussels sautéed with tomatoes, garlic, basil and lemon wine sauce. The waiter serves it up with plenty of fresh hot bread to sop up the broth. Warm Mango Salsa, one of their Signature Sauces, served over Chilean Sea Bass leaves your taste buds humming a smooth tropical Calypso lullaby. The hostess was friendly, our waiter was attentive, and our meal was paced and not rushed leaving us at the end of the evening with a sweet taste in our mouths. I highly recommend Bonefish Grill. Entrée Price Range: $15 and up

Well. After years of being told by a friend I HAD to try it, I did. First of all, I read the Yelp reviews and told my BF he should definitely have the sea bass. He did, and it was lovely. We also had the jasmine rice (blech), the tomato, basil, and feta, and I had the bang bang shrimp tacos. My friend said I had to have the shrimp, so I did. Bang bang shrimp. . .it was tasty, but It tasted like something I would concoct in my own kitchen, and I am not a great cook. It is very mayonaissey, kinda spicy, and has a nice crunch. The crunch does NOT come from any real breading though, so that is good. The accompanying house-made chips were plentiful, and while they were good, they were plain and needed some sort of sauce or dip. What I saw later caused me to regret my taco order. The bang bang shrimp appetizer is a heaping BOWL of this naughty pleasure! I think Wednesday HH special is $5?? I would come back for that! I did like the shrimp, but I feel about the shrimp the way I feel about homemade mac n cheese: without any common sense regarding my health and weight, I could gorge myself on it. Tasty indeed but extremely bad for me. We sat at the bar, and the servers were very friendly, helpful, and honest. The tap selection is minimal, and the Blvd Wheat I ordered was in one of those 10 ounce flutes and cost $4.50. Overpriced and underfilled. The layout of the place is like this: ginormous restaurant side (which screams "children" to me any earlier than 9 pm) and a pretty cool small bar side with a couple of booths, some bar tables, and the actual bar. The crowd consisted mainly of middle age to older, and the were OK. I would come back for that $5 shrimp, but I am not sure I will come back for dinner. I mean, it wasn't bad, it wasn't outstanding. It was just 'ite.

This review is for my wife mostly. The food is excellent. I had the Kobe burger (a must try once) and it was definitely on near the top of best I ever had and around $13 dollars it would be one of the best deals on their menu. Fish is good and the BANG BANG Shrimp.....! Also my wife tells everyone it is the best," to die for!", martini she's ever had, Kettle One extra dirty with fresh bleu cheese stuffed olives!! $14(ouch) but a happy wife is a happy life!

Another great meal and a great deal! We absolutely love this restaurant, and we're not alone. On Tuesday night the restaurant had a 30 min wait at 7PM, but the wait is worth it. To help us bide the time, a staff member came by periodically with samples of their bang bang shrimp and saucy shrimp. Yum! We came that night to take advantage of an email special, Summer Catch. A complete meal: lobster tail (full size Maine lobster tail), shrimp (2 jumbo) and 2 sea scallops, accompanied by 2 sides, and choice of salad - for $19.90 (I've paid lots more just for a mediocre lobster tail entree). Everything was prepared perfectly. The shrimp and scallops had just a bit of grill char on them for added flavor. Their sauces are savory, their house salad one the best anywhere, and their bread irresistible. Add to that the perfectly timed attentiveness provided by our server, Eugene, and the experience was top notch.

Saturday night at 7pm, party of 7, and they were spot on, very friendly from the front door in, and EVERYONE in between, HOW REFRESHING! FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. Service was always there. Numerous staffers stopping by through out the evening, clearing dirty plates and glasses at every turn. And the food, everyone at the table complimented their entrée. THANK YOU AGAIN for a wonderful evening. Thank you Chelsea and the rest of the team,

the first thing I have to mention is that when I arrived through the revolving door the hostess wanted to seat us at the booth closest to the door, even though there were multiple tables in the other room. I thought that was a bit odd, regardless of their reasoning for doing so. our waitress was very friendly but incredibly absent-minded. she forgot bread, never filled up our water and brought the wrong portion sizes for two of the meals. the appetizer (bang bang shrimp) was great, as was the sea bass with mango salsa. overall, everything was good but I wouldn't rush back. (which won't be too difficult since I don't live in KC anymore)

Always consistantly great. They have a big variety of fish and it rotates depending on the season. Au Gratin spuds are the best side item they have.

It was double date night, we had reservations, and we were seated promptly. We started with cocktails. I opted to try the Bonefish Martini, which I found to be quite good. It was a bit on the sweet side, but I only had one and then opted for a glass of white wine. When it comes to seafood, I am VERY picky because I'm not a huge fan of the texture and some seafood is just too "fishy" for me. As an appetizer, we started with the fried calamari and the bang bang shrimp, which I guess they are known for. I thought the calamari was good, but I've had much better elsewhere. I liked the bang bang shrimp a lot. I thought it was flavorful and it masked the texture of the shrimp. I think all 4 of us were happy with the shrimp. For my entree I went with the lobster tails because I like lobster, and everything else on the menu was just too "fishy" for my liking. I enjoyed them, but wish they were bigger. As for service....it was slow! I hate when everyone is done with their meal and we're all just sitting there wondering, "where the heck is our waitress?!". We finished at about 9:30 so it's not like the restaurant was really packed anymore. I definitely have mixed feelings about Bonefish.

I do not understand why some chain restaurants are so popular. I was not impressed with the quality of there fish. The service was ok but they seem to hide the flavor of the fish with the sauces they use. I have had better seafood at other locations. It just seemed to me like an average restaurant experience. I will not be coming back.

A friend of mine's wife had her birthday dinner here last weekend, so we rolled out to 135th to eat at this chain restaurant. We were greeted, but told we couldn't sit at our table until more of our party was there. I never get this considering the server is just waiting for you to sit. Anyway, ordered a drink from a server in the bar area. She brought me my tab, then never came back, I waited maybe five minutes, then finally went into the kitchen to pay her since I couldn't get anybody to help me. On to dinner. We had 10 people, so they had two servers taking care of us. One was knowledgeable, the other had no clue what anything was on the menu. We asked about certain things, she said she didn't know, then would ask if we wanted to order. Finally, we did get our order in. I asked for a menu to order a glass of wine. Got my menu a few minutes later, then the server never came back. Finally had to flag her down (I hate doing that) to put in a drink order. Food was so so, average at best. No clearing of the table either from the appetizer plates, to the salad plates, to our final dishes. We finally started stacking them on the end of the table to make room. After the meal, we were never asked if we'd like dessert or a drink, we were just presented with our checks. Really bad service, average food. No reason to be back.

We ALWAYS enjoy our time here. The Corn Chowder w/ Lump Crab meat is the dark-horse of the menu, and of course we can't go w/ out getting an order of Bang Bang Shrimp. Sashimi is one of our favs as well as the Filet w/ the Bellaire topping. YUM!

Went there this weekend. Service was really good. Seemed like we were their top priority. It was 4pm on a saturday. So they were not to full capacity. I really enjoyed the talapia and my husband liked his steak. Price was reasonable but a touch on the higher side of reasonable. Overall a great dinner. We will be back.

So my boyfriend and I went to Bonefish grill last night for dinner. We had been wanting to go ever since we took a trip to the Florida Keys in November. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our waitress was super nice and super sweet, and very knowledgeable of the menu. We really liked the ambiance as well. Low lighting and neat decor that was indicative of the Florida keys. We each chose one of the specials for the night. My boyfriend chose the Icelandic wolf fish stuffed with crab, scallop and drizzled with lemon caper butter sauce. I had the Kate's special which was haddock lightly breaded and pan seared with artichoke and feta. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could substitute the whipped mashed potatoes for a vegetable medley. We were offered the option for soup and salad, but we both declined anxious just to engorge on our entrees. Fresh baked bread in the shape of a diamond was served and it was nothing too special. But it was served with what the waitress called a "pesto" which she cautioned would be salty. But it was not a "pesto" in the traditional since, mostly olive oil with lots of herbs and bits of olive, and was not salty at all (which I appreciated because I am not big on salt). Our entrees came out within a reasonable time. I loved mine! It reminded me of a crab cake they way it was pain seared and the feta and artichoke were great with the fish. I forgot to mention that night each entree came with a seasonal vegetable which was actually garbanzo beans in a tomato, basil, spinach mix that was DELIGHTFUL! My vegetable medley came on the side and the veggies were lightly seasoned and al dente. My boyfriends fish was really good! He loved how ti was cooked just right and said that he thought maybe the combination of crab, scallop was not too rich as he had imagined. Wish they would have had key lime pie on the dessert menu!

I made our reservation with the Yelp iPhone app, very simple. Checked in and had only a short wait. The service was good and the food was great. Bang Bang Shrimp & Winter White Cosmos alone make this place worth a visit. Good time.

We waited for 1:45 for a table which wasn't that bad. A hostess brought around drinks and free appetizers while we waited. The worst part was the anticipation that culminated in sub-par food. For spending $70, I really didn't feel like I got my money's worth. I realize MO is a land locked state, but this seafood was sorely unsatisfying. There just wasn't any taste. The wait staff is gracious and friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy. The seafood just doesn't cut it.

I was there last week for a Linking Professionals Womens luncheon to benefit SafeHome. First, I ran into sitter issues and was going to have to cancel, but the owner of the Bonefish Grill along with the Diva hosting the event were more than accomadating regarding my preschooler. Needless to say he tagged along and was excited to see the ins and outs of a restaraunt prior to opening for business. The owner went above and beyond making my preschooler comfortable and allowing him to tag along and answering the many questions a curious preschooler has. On top of that, I had the tilapia filet with the marmalade, potatoes, and dessert. All of which were incredible. Most definately recommend. Most definately will go back. Great venue, incredible team of people, and amazing food. Thanks!!!!

Wow! We were incredibly satisfied with the flavors and the service. I had a smoked Mahi Mahi and my fiance had the Scallops & Shrimp. Both were cooked perfectly and the Garlic Mashed Potatoes were better than Grandma's! To top of the excellent food, the staff was incredible. Hats off to the chefs and to our server, Mike, for non-obtrusive wonderful service. We will definitely be back!

I have been to a few networking events at Bonefish. They are not typically open during the lunch hour, however, they open their doors a few times a month to networking lunches that benefit local charities. How can you not love a company that gives back to the community?! Their food is also great! We have a limited menu at lunch but the food is always amazing! I actually sometimes wish they wouldn't bring out the yummy chocolate cake in raspberry sauce b/c I can't say no! They are known for their bang bang shrimp so I would highly recommend that as well! They should be coming out with some new (seasonal) martini's soon. All I remember is one had strawberries and sounded delish! I can't wait to try it!

My mother-in-law adores the Bang-Bang shrimp so much, that she orders it as her entree so that she doesn't have to share with anyone. I can understand why. Denton and I went to Bonefish for a grown-up dinner with our friends from out of town. They suggested we order the Bang-Bang shrimp so I agreed. It is sooo tasty and spicy that I really wanted to eat the whole thing myself. Next time, I am following my mother-in-law's lead. My entree, salmon, was very good. I liked the way that it was prepared. Overall, the service was excellent. We were seated promptly and our waiter was there to refill every drink. Which brings me to my only complaint of the evening -- the drinks. I am the type of girl that can drink, do you know what I mean? I had two raspberry martinis and could have walked a straight line. I'm not sure what they put in them but clearly it is not enough alcohol.

I dined at the 135th restaurant twice and that will be it. I have no issue with the freshness and quality of the seafood, it's the dumping of salt and "seasoning" on it. When I go to a higher end seafood restaurant I would like to taste the fish, Bonefish isn't the only place that does this, but it's way overboard. On my second visit I requested "no seasoning" please and was met with a "what?" look. When I was served, it was seasoned. Unbelievable. Also, why do four to five people have to handle my food. I ordered from the waiter! Certainly affected the tip.

I've been here about a half dozen times. I've been unimpressed with the service almost every time. I return because they serve sea bass, prepare it well, and it's not grossly overpriced. Admittedly, I have a $50/entree appetite, with a $20/entree budget. That's why, when I itch for Chilean sea bass, I head to Bonefish Grill. Though the "large" portion of their sea bass ($25) has never been the same size, the quality and preparation is pretty consistent. The lightly seared outside collects a flavorful crisp that presents a delightful texture when you bite into its magnificence. The inside is buttery flawlessness. They have several sauce options, but I get mine with lemon butter sauce. I've had their mango salsa, which I always find gross, and their chimichurri. Now the chimichurri is quite good, but I find it too strong for sea bass. I like how lemon butter allows the flavor of sea bass speak for itself. Appetizers: Bang Bang Shrimp - am I the only person on the planet that doesn't love this??? It's thickly breaded, average-sized shrimp, fried, then drenched in a spicy sauce. And if I'm not mistaken, it's the same sauce sushi places make for spicy tuna rolls - mayo mixed with Sriracha. I mean, it's good if you don't like tasting the shrimp...otherwise, it's kinda gross. I'll eat it, but I really don't get the rave. Ahi Tuna Sashimi - another average app Crab Cakes - sorry, not enough crab. The sauce is too rich. Sides: mashed potatoes - haven't had them in a while, but they're just fine, but nothing to write home about potatoes au gratin - pretty good, better than the mashed haricot verts - they're just seasoned and sauteed green beans, but I like them here Other: I've only tried their creme brulee for dessert, and I liked it very much. It's only $5.50, which I think is pretty reasonable for a wannabe swankstaurant like this. My son has had their filet mignon, and it was good, but since that first visit, he has only ordered the sea bass. Their drinks are nice and strong. They make a good mojito. About the service...I'm just gonna shake my head at this part. You'd think that a place like this would be eager to impress. This is so far from true. The hostesses are idiots and the servers barely care. About the half the times I've been here, the service was just mediocre, the other half was just bad. In summary, I continue to patronize this place because it's a cheaper way to get decent Chilean sea bass and it's close to home. Don't go expecting royal treatment. Make a reservation because they get inexplicably and ridiculously packed.

One of my favorite restaurants, worth the drive over! We make reservations, so we don't have to wait as long. While you are waiting, however, the staff brings around samples of their delicious food to try. And, you can always try one of their fabulous martinis! I had a peach variety and a watermelon variety on my last visit -- both delicious. Great specials, and a great menu. The Bang Bang Shrimp are my favorite appetizer. Great service by the waitstaff. Definitely a must try for seafood in KC.

Very very good food. Great drinks. Super cold beer. I been to this restaurant twice and loved it every time. I been to other Bonefish grills around the country and the food NEVER disappoints. The Bang Bang Shripm appetizer is lick your fingers good. Very delicious. I definitelly recomend this restaurant to anyone looking for some good seafood.

I actually had a good experience both here and twice out north. My sea bass was amazing, crispy and grilled on the outside and buttery inside. I agree on the mashed potatoes, but mashed potatoes are not the most inspired version of a cooked potato and they will let you substitute. I wanted the shrimp starter, but I was trying not to eat anything fried, it looked amazing though. Also had key lime pie, my dessert test, and it was really great. Given the choice, I most always would choose Bristol over Bonefish, but it sure kicks McCormick & Schmick's ass.

Really, really good steak & lobster. A *little* pricey, but worth every penny. *** update *** After going back a few times, we've found Bonefish to be fairly inconsistent in the quality of both the food and service.

We've eaten at Bonefish a couple of times including last night. Each experience was very good. I agree with the comments on the "salty" mashed potatoes and how great the bang-bang shrimp. Service was pretty good, but my drink did end up being empty for a few minutes. What I noticed was that parties of more than two received an inordinate amount of attention while the couples watched. I had a filet and it was excellent.

This was a very disappointing restaurant. We had heard good things about Bonefish Grill. I have to say though, it is typical chain food. Everything is moderate pricing, $20 an entree. The first thing we ordered was bang bang shrimp which was the only good thing we had. The rest of the meal was mediocre at best. It was glossy ice cream scooped mashed potatoes that looked as though they were from a cafeteria. Taste was fine, but if I wanted cafeteria food I would have gone to one. Overall very disappointing, but try it for yourself to see if you agree.

  • Anony M.

The only thing good about this place is the Bang-Bang Shrimp. I usually would not include mashed potatoes as part of a review, but these were so bad I had to. Can you say "salty"? I'm not sure if someone accidentally dropped a couple gallons of salt in the potatoes but man were they salty! We split the Longfin, one of their specialties, and it was OK. The service was the worst I have had in a long time. Our waiter pretty much forgot about us and didn't even refill our water one time. My wife had enough and went to the bar to get her a drink. I would recomend going to the Bristol over this place. Corporate owned and very apparent.

I have ate here many times and food is generally very good. However last Friday night I came here to have dinner and wanted to try something new. We started with the bang bang shrimp, my girlfriend ordered steak and I ordered the lobster roll, which you think you could never go wrong with but not so much and let me tell ya, I haven't thrown up so hard in my entire life. I woke up at 3 am next morning profusely vomiting and had extremely high fever all day long. Needless to say my weekend was ruined and so was my appetite for this restaurant anymore...I strongly suspect food poisoning cause as I told this story to coworkers I quickly found out that there are many others who have became sick after dining at this place. I did also call the restaurant to let them know of my incident but they were quick to avoid blame, typical of a restaurant, and to assure me others who ordered it were just fine. Really?! How can they be so sure, anyone else had problems here???

Delicious, simply delicious! My boyfriend was briefly back in town for a business trip (he moved) so we decided to have a nice dinner. After searching on Yelp we decided on this place - he wanted a burger and a beer and I wanted lobster. It was Tuesday which meant they offered the "summer tales of lobster event!" We ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp to start - OMG they were amazing!! I can see why its so popular. For our drinks, I had the signature white sangria and he ordered the India Pale Ale Double Wide; and dinner was a burger for him and the Filet Topped with Lobster Thermidor for me. Every bite was amazing and when paired with the fresh bread and pesto...completely amazing. Service added to the overall experience. I know that next time he's back in town I'll be bringing him back here!

I had a nice holiday luncheon here with my gal-pals from work. It's always fun coming here, even though it is a chain. I've not ha a bad meal yet. I had crab cakes with a sriracha dipping sauce. Wow! It was almost all crab and not so much filler which was really nice and the sauce was superb. It came with an Asian-flavored slaw that was nice and fresh and crunchy! One of my friends had the corn chowder with crab and it knocked my socks off! So delicious, fresh and creamy with the lovely buttery crab in the middle. The atmosphere here is classy and fun, in kind of a snooty part of town and a little out of the way for me but I've always enjoyed it. The server was a comely little chap who was pleasant and friendly and made sure everything was made to order. He and the young lady he was training, checked on us often and their attitudes and communications were pleasant and professional. The prices wasn't bad either and the portions are always generous. Oh yes and they always make a very tasty and refreshing mojito!

I went to dinner on a Friday night and did not have to wait in line. The staff was very friendly making sure my glass of water was never empty. I ordered salmon with broccoli and my friend got the Bang Bang Shrimp. The meal was served with amazing bread with olive oil and herbs which was a great start to the meal. My raspberry martini was garnished with 3 fresh raspberries making for a nice end of meal dessert. I will definitely come back to this place again.

We had, by far, one of the best, most memorable meals here this week. The staff was fantastic, the food stellar, and the environment very pleasant. Loved every second of it and would go back in a heartbeat. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and hubby had Scallops and Shrimp. I wanted to lick the plate. Seriously, it was that good. Tender, flaky, delicately seasoned fish, paired with tangy, perfectly cooked potatoes au gratin, and a side of zuchinni. And dessert - I thought my hubby had a lapse in judgement when he ordered the flourless brownie, but no, it was spectacular too. (Be sure to split it if you order it though. It's way too much for one person.) Amazing experience. Will definitely go again.

Made reservations for 6 for a birthday dinner. Asked for a quiet table. What we got was a table in the bar, and on the Bang Bang shrimp night, so the bar was crowded and loud. Our table was not ready when we arrived. Then it took 15 minutes for the server to come to our table after we were seated. After that, the server was very good. Also, the person who took my reservation, the hostess, and the server all asked if we were there for a special occasion. If you are going to keep asking, maybe make a note of it next to the reservation...? Food was great, we were just hoping for a table where we could all hear one another.

We have been here 3 times in the past 6 months all for special occasions. I'll admit that I'd been hesitant to coming as I'm not a huge seafood fan. I'm so glad we did start visiting as we absolutely love it. I do love shrimp, so the Bang Bang Shrimp is a favorite. I also had the Thai Coconut Shrimp as an appetizer once and loved it so much I had it as a meal with a side of rice at our last visit. The other times I've had Sir Wills Fish. I'm not a big fan of fish and I've ordered this twice so that has to say something. My teenage daughter loves the edamame and thinks they have the best steak she's ever had. The birthday dessert is a fun treat with strawberries and I believe Happy Birthday written in chocolate sauce with whip cream on the side. We've always had great service and will continue to go back.

Hubby and I came here with another couple last Friday night. We arrived around 7 and were told there was a 30 minute wait. Not bad. However, we found 4 seats at one the of the 8-top "community" tables in the bar, so we decided to just eat there. The waitress took our pager back and took our drink order. I had a raspberry vodka collins. It was on special for $5 and was pretty good. Everybody always raves about the bang bang shrimp so we got an order. It was OK. It wasn't super spicy and it's breaded. You can't really taste the shrimp. I wish we had ordered the mussels. Another table had those as an appetizer and they looked really good. For an entree, I had the tilapia imperial. it is talapia stuffed with shrimp, scallops, lump crab meat + lemon caper butter and it was really good. I had a side of asparagus, which was OK but nothing special, and the vegetable of the day which was spaghetti squash. Meh. The service was good, the atmosphere is loud, but it was an enjoyable meal. Would I come back? Yes.

Went there for a coupon special on three choices of entrees: Baja Fish Tacos, Fish and Chips, or Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos...went with Baja and the Arctic Char entree. Both were excellent. The arctic char, which I've never had, was seasonal and described well by our server, so I tried it. It's a great meal. Fish was prepared well--flaky, moist, seared and delicious. I wasn't a fan of the side, but I could've swapped it, so my fault there. The baja tacos were also very good, three sizable tacos, good portions of fish in each, and delicious too. I would recommend having the mango salsa on the side rather than served as is, because it's strong and can overpower the other flavors in the taco. All in all, great meals and the price (especially after the coupon) was definitely affordable. Service was also solid--he was friendly, knowledgeable, and on point with the table. One of the better seafood values/restaurants in town.

You go to this place totally for the food and nothing else. I had grilled seabass, lobster tail, scallop, and salad. It's amazing that they have fresh seafood here! Tasted awesome. But if you want to have a romantic date or a dressed-up dinner, this is a wrong place. I was turned off by their use of paper as table sheet! Yes! No (good) comments on that. And price wise is not cheap. Probably $$$ and not $$. But i would go back again for the food!

First time to this chain restaurant. I like the way they cook rainbow trout very much!!! We also ordered lobster tail, and honestly I think it's better than the Red lobster's, although I love Red lobster.

Should've known better than to include a chain restaurant on our weekly A to Z restaurant adventure. Bonefish Grill was next on our list and we waited until Tuesday so we could (a) avoid the crowds and (b) take advantage of the "Tuesday Lobster Tales" specials. In hindsight, I don't think it mattered. We made a reservation. Although not full, there were several people there. I always ask for a booth (seems more like eating out than a table) and we were promptly seated right next to the front revolving door. The temp outside was about 9 degrees and I had no desire to be freezing throughout the meal. I glanced around and noticed at least five other open booths. I asked to be reseated and remarkably the hostess chose the booth right next to the restrooms. Ugh. I asked again to be reseated and at this point, I just felt "why did I make a reservation?" My son ordered the bang bang tacos. He was not a fan of the cream sauce on the tacos and seeing as the bang bang shrimp is everyone's favorite on here, I'll just chalk it up to personal taste. He did have a valid point however when he noticed that the tacos were filled with lettuce and onion and the bang bang shrimp was placed on top SO if you eat them sideways (like most people), you end up eating a mouthful of lettuce and onions for most of the taco. My husband and I both had the lobster thermidore. Very small sirloin and a scant amount of lobster and crab on top. It was good; just very small portions. The whipped potatoes that came with it were an excellent choice for an accompaniment. The seasonal veggie was garbanzo beans so I asked if I could have fruit instead. Imagine my surprise when a giant bowl of fruit was served (grapes, mango, apples, and assorted berries) topped with a giant mound of whipped cream and sprinkled with chocolate chips were served. Ugh. I was just trying to stay healthy by having fruit instead of a veggie I didn't care for and ended up with some huge dessert concoction. I was also charged extra for this monstrosity. The bread served with garlic dipping oil was quite good. It was decent. Doubt that we'll be back though. Bonefish Grill is not a culinary jewel. Oh, one other thing, the music that was playing was RAP. Are you kidding me?! I'm unsure what kind of atmosphere they're going for.

I tried Bonefish a few years back in the southeast when I traveled for work, and tried this location recently when I was in Kansas for work. I wish they had them in Minnesota because it's really good! The seafood was super fresh. I had swordfish oscar style, with succotash and potatoes au gratin. Our server was very informative and helpful - he offered to find a sauce that worked for us if the ones on the menu didn't speak to us. We didn't have dessert or an appetizer, but they both looked really good. It's a perfect place for a work dinner, or if you want an upgrade from Red Lobster but don't want to pay high-end seafood restaurant prices.

I don't know why we continue to come back here. The service is never great. The food is pretty good though. The most frustrating this about this visit is that the vegetable of the day was chick peas with sausage.....on a Friday.....during LENT!!!! We are here BECAUSE it's a Friday during Lent. We were allowed to swap for a non-meat veggie for a small upcharge but still, really????

I'd been wanting to come here for a very long time, but the location wasn't convenient. Had heard so many good things! I was not disappointed (though the wait was 45 min on a Wednesday, so I'd suggest others to keep that in mind). The wait staff was kind, helpful and efficient. The only thing I may have changed is that our yummy drinks were served in glasses made of ice. Cool, but we didn't realize it until they started to melt, forcing our sips into chugs. lol The food was great, with a lot of unique dishes to choose from. I had the mahi mahi with mango salsa - delicious! My friend had crabcakes and said they were fantastic! The seating was somewhat crowded, but doable. I'll be back (though will try to plan better to avoid the wait)

I went for the first time at the Overland Park KS location with family for a birthday dinner on May 10th. I have been before but in different city and state and loved it. Another person in my party been to that location before when open and loved the Shrimp and Grits...Didn't see on the menu yesterday. ..Well I had the large Salmon it was horrible....no seasoning and very bland...Another person had small Salmon had it was horrible to them too...Pork Chop was good but I was at a seafood restaurant. Small portions for your money. CRAB CAKE WAS A VERY DISAPPOINMENT...IT WAS NOT IN A SHAPE OF A ROUND CAKE IT WAS DUMPED ON A PLATE SHREDDED UP...Too bad Papoadeux is not in my city. The only thing I like was looking at was the nice looking managers walking around working...wish I knew what there names was especially the taller one built. Whew...that made my birthday dinner 5% better... Very disappointed and I go out to eat a lot but I won't be back.

Very disappointed. We arrived on a Sunday for lunch and waited an hour after our order was taken before it our meal finally arrived. We asked to speak to a manager and were told one would come by but no one ever did. At one point our server stopped at our table and told us that our meal would be just a few more minutes. But twenty minutes passed and she never came to our table again. When the food did arrive, it was excellent. Hence, the second star. But I've experienced better. It will be a while before we visit this place again.

We were in on a Thursday night at 7:30. Not overly busy. The service seemed very slow, bringing drinks, refilling water glasses, never offered another drink, taking dishes long finished away, etc. The atmosphere was very good even sitting in front of the doorway to the kitchen. The scallop and shrimp combination was very good. The signature Opah dish, nor so much. The crab topping was mayonaissy and the sauce drizzled over top tasted like Big Mac secret sauce and very greasy.ugh. Noone at the table was pleased. The waitress brought another sauce to try and compensate which I appreciated, but um, no. Not really impressed, but might give it a lunchtime try.

We LOVE Bonefish! We love to take our kids here, and they have fallen in love with seafood because of this place! We come on Wednesday nights for the bang bang shrimp! It is definitely one we visit monthly!

Very very good food. Great drinks. Super cold beer. I been to this restaurant twice and loved it every time. I been to other Bonefish grills around the country and the food NEVER disappoints.

  • Tony L.

So the food is usually great here but we have been waiting for 30min after getting seated for any waiter to stop by or bring water etc. it's kind of scary..... It's like being part of the invisible people. I will eventually leave but it has become a game of seeing how long we can wait before we get noticed. We'll eventually we did and the food and service did not disappoint. Everyone helped make it a lovely evening in the end. Bang bang shrimp are always outstanding. Loved the ahi tuna bowel - nice subtle spice.

Always great here . Tonight was above and beyond. They explained kitchen was backed up a bit because of the crowd and the food came out slower than usual, but one of the managers came out and apologized and totally took care of us

Yes.

I will not be coming back.

the first thing I have to mention is that when I arrived through the revolving door the hostess wanted to seat us at the booth closest to the door, even though there were multiple tables in the other room.

Very very good food. Great drinks. Super cold beer. I been to this restaurant twice and loved it every time. I been to other Bonefish grills around the country and the food NEVER disappoints.
