Not a lot of choices on Thanksgiving night in Lawrence, but this still turned out to be a fun little sports bar. The Bartender Chelsea was great....nice daily drink specials...friendly patrons....lots of sports on the TVs....and the salsa with the chips and salsa was fabulous! Some cool sports memorabilia scattered around, also. Well worth a stop for a pint.

Tried the Goober Burger. A burger with bacon and Peanut Butter. It sounded interesting. I was in an Elvis mood so i gave it a try. The taste was ok. Nothing fabulous. The burger was good. The peanut butter was probably a mistake. The fries have a ranch type seasoning that is fabulous. My wife tried the club sandwich. It was good. Ask for extra fry seasoning on the side. My boy had the chicken tender kids meal. The fried chicken was quite good, seasoned well. The service was fast and friendly. We enjoyed it. There was a small TV at our table hooked to cable. We were able to watch what we wanted, which was cool. Big screens everywhere with the game on. The bad thing....menu seemed to be lack of healthy choices. Salads boring. Plenty of sandwiches, burgers and wings. We also played shuffleboard while were there.

The nachos are great with a few drinks, lots of toppings on top of the pile of chips, chips and salsa are just ok, beer towers are cool if they aren't all sold out, great place to watch sporting events, food as expected for a bar

The Yacht Club is easily the worst service you'll receive in Lawrence. I wanted to like this place, and went several times for work functions, but the service was always terrible. I like the atmosphere, and that they have a Goober Burger on the menu is a huge win. But it just can't make up for how bad the service is. I hope it improves; it's a comfy little out-of-the way place with great potential.

Tried to eat here tonight and waited 20 minutes without a server even taking my drink order. During this time I watched six tables come in a get drinks. I alerted the bartender that my table had not even had so much as a drink order taken and he said they were busy and he would come...after at least 10 more minutes we finally had to leave. I was there more then 30 minutes and I never even got a water. I have no plans to return.

My fraternity went here for a social event, and the service was not quite mediocre. The servers were unresponsive and rarely brought out food. I went to go ask a bowl of chips, and one of the servers said no to my request because he was waiting for the next bus to come so he refused to make me a simple bowl of chips. Never going there again.

After living in Lawrence for nearly 8 years, I decided it was finally time to try this place before I move to KC in a few months. I came here to watch a KU game during March Madness with my best friend and had an overall good experience. Cold beer, plenty of TV's, great atmosphere for a mid-afternoon KU game. I ordered some of the spicy boneless wings to accompany our beer and was less than impressed. They offer varying levels of hotness on their wings and I got the 2nd hottest but barely needed my ranch to dip them in. They were very small and not worth the price. I came back last week on a Sunday afternoon with my boyfriend to try out their patio area on one of the first really warm days of the season. The parking lot was almost completely empty when we arrived (totally opposite of the packed house on gamedays) and when we made our way to the patio out front, we were met with a variety of mismatched and torn barstools and dirty tables. We sat down at the least dirty table and waited for our waitress to bring some menus. We started off with a beer tower since this is the one of the only places in the area you can still get them at. However, $12 for a 2 liter tower is kind of ridiculous in my opinion, especially when the tap drips constantly. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips to start off with. My boyfriend and I kind of consider ourselves spinach artichoke dip connoisseurs, as we've tried it at most of the restaurants we go to. That being said, this one wasn't BAD but it wasn't good either. We decided to stop at the appetizer when we saw the prices on the rest of the menu. All of the food on the menu is comparably priced to places like 23rd Street Brewery, Henry T's, etc and they all FAR exceed the quality and selection of this place.

Decent food. Mediocre service. A lot of Tvs. Great for games. The bar crowd can get a little trashy and loud, and the facility itself is not the nicest.
