This isn't my usual kind of place, but when we lived near the Phoggy Dog it was actually a nice place to go watch a game and shoot some pool. We usually went during the week when it was less crowded. The bartenders were always super nice and there were some pretty respectable drink specials. We also had a couple of pretty comical experiences there, but they involved the clientele and had nothing to do with the establishment! My favorite was this guy who became increasingly enamored with my friend the more drunk he got, until he became overwhelming and my friend decided to leave, at which point this guy followed him to the parking lot and jumped on his back, screaming that he wasn't going to let him leave! Whoa - he's lucky my husband was there to keep our friend from dropping that guy over his knee...which definitely almost happened.

Phoggy Dog..... I went there with a dude I was dating (read: complete idiot whom hid his idiocy very well) on a week night and in summer, so ya... that place was dead. But to make things great was the single bartender. Super cool guy and talkative. His service made the visit fun. He read body language well and saved us from awkward silences. Baller move, my friend! Anyway, about the establishment itself: great space, pool tables, good atmosphere. I really enjoyed it and would definitely go back for future visits!

My old go to!! I no longer live in Lawrence but when i visit this is the first and last stop!! The owners make it known how important you are to the place and if it is a game day this is the place to be.

One of the best places to party in Lawrence!!! The owners are legit and the setup has lots of room and tvs for all KU games. Great place and great staff!

Lots of room to roam and find a place to mingle. Drink specials are good and the staff seems helpful.
