Stopped in after church, politely was assisted with our order. While filling up our drinks, are order was ready. I ordered rib dinner with 2 sides & my wife had pulled pork & 2 sides. Was very much satisfied with the fall off the bone ribs. Only thing would be a smaller portion size. I will definitely be back. If you're wanting some good BBQ, then this is your place.

First time at this place. Staff is very courteous and my order was quickly prepared. Had the two meat, two sides dinner. Pulled pork was tender and juicy. Ribs were fall off the bone tender. Curly fries and cole slaw (creamy style). Meat was very good but lacked smoke flavor I like. I prefer vinegar based slaw but they have a good cream style. Fries were good but nothing special. I like that the BBQ sauce does not have corn syrup and it is very flavorful. I would certainly eat there again.

Staff was very friendly. Food was good, the fries were a little bit cold. I had the Carolina sandwich, it was very good. The place was clean, including the restroom. Price was compatible to other bbq joints. I would recommend it.

Are you kidding me? They roll up the place at eight! Better get there at 6. Never felt more uncomfortable as the help wanted to go home. ...

You simply must try the giant spuds covered in pulled pork and sauce! Unbelievably delicious. Support staff is great. I'll be returning.

I have nothing bad, really, to say about this place. I've had far worse BBQ in my life...also far better. This stuff was *okay*. Keep weird hours (close at 8pm...apparently this is a jingle, but I don't really listen to local radio). Plenty of food, very smokey in flavor. If you find yourself in the neighborhood, give it a go. Fries are usually served room temperature. Ribs are cooked so good the meat falls off the bone, yet are kind of bland outside the taste of smoke (even with sauce). Nothing on here to pretend to be healthy...if that's your thing. Good for families, though. Staff was friendly and attentive. Very clean.

My husband and I were in town, from Texas, for a Jayhawk game. I had seen this BBQ establishment before when in town, it never worked out to go, so we tried it out this time. I figured it must be good and doing well as it had moved into a bigger building across the street. We ordered the 2 meat plate that came with 2 sides and bread. It did not disappoint. Everything from my husband's ribs, to my pulled pork, to our sides of cole slaw and baked beans were amazing!!!!! Even the bread was good. It will be added to my top favorites which include Oklahoma Joe's and Famous Daves. Our order was taken quickly and we got our food quick as well. If you know great BBQ you will LOVE this place!

Hog Wild is a solid barbecue place, especially in Lawrence. I've been a few times now, and it's consistently met my expectations. A regular sized sandwich (which is stuffed with plenty of meat) is about $5. Add a side and/or a drink and it's an easy meal for about $8! I love that they have pulled chicken, too, which not every barbecue place serves. Arguably the best part about their meat is that it's not greasy! The service is fast, and the workers are friendly. It's a great place for lunch!

Hogwild is the newest entry into Lawrence for BBQ and the town has historically always been in need compared to its much bigger cousin Kansas City. Wichita-based, the Hog also has restaurants in Salina, El Dorado and Hutchinson with Lawrence being their newest venture. First off, the people working here couldn't be nicer and service is quick. When finished someone was promptly by picking up plates, napkins, etc. Two in our party of three opted for pulled pork sandwiches and I had the rib dinner (pork) with beans and fries. The ribs were a tad on the tough side on the outside and ends with not a lot of smoke flavor inside but still a pleasant hunk of meat that detached from the bone properly. Sadly, the curly fries and beans appear to come straight from a Sysco truck. Top that with the fact that we unanimously agreed someone didn't salt the fries at all and the beans had that straight out of a can taste. No meat, no smoke, little if any sauce. Uninspired beans are one of the great sad details in the BBQ experience for my nickel. Texas toast buttered comes with the dinner while a more traditional hamburger style bun with a little extra goes with the pulled pork. Sauces are very good, a hot and mild sauce with plenty of thickness and a sweet tangy taste. The dining area is pleasant enough but definitely high on the cutesy side of things. Not a distraction. The crowd was hopping and even though I was personally a little disappointed with my meal, it could be easily rectified with a little salt on the fries, some sauce and meat in the beans. I think this restaurant will do well. There's obvious attention to detail, I'm just thinking I got unlucky today with my choices. I hope they do well because Lawrence is always a town with plenty of folks needing a BBQ fix. I wouldn't hesitate to come again and would probably try their sandwich. If you come: - You order at one window, seat yourself and pick up your food at another window. - Credit cards accepted. - Easy in and out, quick, for those on a limited lunch hour. - Can see this being a popular to-go option for game days/nights. - Parking a little congested but that's due to the building that was already here that they took over.

I am always looking for great BBQ and Hog Wild is one that I can add to my list. On my first (and so far only) visit, our order was taken quickly and we were able to find a seat with some ease (although we were there at 11:30 am on a weekday and there were quite a few people already, so I assume it can get crowded). We ordered off the sandwich menu, I had the regular North Carolina pork and my companion, the beef and sausage and we both ordered curly fries. The food was delicious. I like both the regular and hot sauces, which were not necessary on my very juicy pork, but a great addition to the fries. I would like to go back and try some of the other meats (including the turkey and ribs) as well as the beans--next trip for sure. Although you order at the window, there is staff in the dining room ensuring you have everything you need and they are all very friendly. I will definitely be back to try some more of their "wild" BBQ.

Is this the best, no it isn't but they are not bad. I am in a bbq club that hits KS/MO BBQ joints (have been to some of the best) so I wanted to try what Lawrence has to offer for BBQ and IMHO, this is Lawrence's best. I have been here 5-6 times and have only had one bad meal (it was around 6:30 PM on a Friday) there...it was REALLY salty but that might be due to them closing ealry and I got the end of the lot... Anyway, their pulled pork is good, the turkey is good and the brisket (which is shredded) isn't bad either. You can help yourself to hot peppers and pickles which is nice but the price....ahhh, the price....this town's BBQ joints have a price point as if they were BB's Landslide (ya ain't) but Hog Wild, their prices are good as are the portion sizes.... Give em a try...they have a drive through as well...

Ribs are meaty and we'll done. Brisket was moist and well flavored . The side dishes are pretty good, beans not too spicy, coleslaw was good , not drowned in dressing. I found dead the potato salad pretty good. The potatoes weren't cooked to death and the blend of dressing was very good. They worked well to have our order ready when we told them. Only complaint is they have not added Lawrence menu to their on line Web site.
