Nice clean space and friendly staff, I would recommend Dragon roll for first timers. It was delicious and beautiful. Tuna sashimi was very good too. The portions here are a bit bigger than what I normally got in bigger city. So you definitely get your money worth. I would definitely come back here with friends and family.

Great sushi, friendly waitstaff and chefs. The Jersey roll is my favorite but they have all kinds of different rolls and other menu items that are non-sushi. The Bang Bang Shrimp is excellent! To clarify a fact from another review, it is across from a drinking establishment (bar) named Toby Jugs which is a good place to have drink .... Toby Jugs is not a strip club! I like to take advantage of their daily specials. Sake2me is a great place to grab lunch or dinner.

The outside being an old service station almost threw us off but the inside was much better. It was also kinda strange that it was next door to "Toby Jugs" the strip club but hey, sushi in Hays KS what could go wrong.. The food inside told a delicious different story. Highly recommend to people driving passed Hays on I70, like we were. The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was that I wish I got a little more food for my money.

Excellent sushi rolls. Some of the best I've ever had. Great atmosphere. Outdoor seating available.

Top sushi restaurant in Kansas! My husband works in Hays and we live in Wichita. The sushi here trumps anything I have had in the state. I am waiting to leave town until they open to get a Spider-Man roll to-go! Great service, great quality, good prices, fun location!

We arrived to a re-furnish service station and was blown away by the service and the food was better than what you get in a big city. The rolls "all" are fantastic . The bang bang shrimp was like butter

Stopped here while in town from Colorado for family reunion. Wait was a bit but when your party of 9 nearly all order sushi, that takes time to craft. Price reflects the time to craft.

Wow...8 of us just ate outside and were blown away with the amazing sushi and attentive service! The food arrived so quickly and was equivalent to any urban sushi place. Great non sushi kids menu too!

Very neat locationfor this sushi place. I came here in a suggestion of a student at the college. I've usually known Hays to be dominated by burgers and steaks so I wasn't sure about a sushi place. I definitely enjoyed the Kansas roll our whatever roll is deep fried. It wasn't greasy at all and had a great crunch. I also enjoyed the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer. I was also pleasantly surprised that they had three kinds of iced tea including a peach flavored tea. The price here is a little higher than some places around but the portions are well worth it. Is also worth it if you're looking for a change from steak and burgers.

PROS: Nice place, friendly. CONS: Waited for 45 min for sushi even though there were 6 people behind the sushi bar. Something wrong with that picture? Sushi cuts were uneven and thick Prob not going there next time. A burrito will fill me up more.

Service has significantly improved since it opened. The sushi basics, like the dumplings or spicy crab, are delicious and comparable to sushi places in larger cities. The price is reasonable considering the quality of ingredients.

Wonderful sushi for small town Kansas. The guy that started this restaurant about a year ago used to sell sushi to locals on the side. and it was in such high demand he decided to open this place on Main St. If you expect a quick in-and-out experience; go have fast food (or to any other burger trough in town). The wait isn't crazy long, but if you are sitting down for a special dinner with more than one course, you may be there a while, and what's the rush anyways!? The fish they use is fantastic, and definately worth the premium price. Some of the specialty rolls I've tried have too many bells and whistles for my taste, I guess I prefer the ole less is more item.

I figured I wouldn't be biased against sushi in the middle of nowhere. I was wrong. If you're type of person that would buy the sushi trays from Dillons and enjoy it, this is for you. If you like real sushi the only way you should eat it -fresh- think FuGaKyu in Boston. Then I would pass. Hays doesn't need a sushi place, sorry. Service is slow, tried once before and they were out of food? Some things are too salty. Just not a pleasant experience. Definitely quantity over quality. Good luck!
