This was my first time here; I came to meet a friend. I had been told it was quite good, but pricey. Well..for starters, the server, Serena was helpful and allowed us the extra time to figure out what we wanted. Coffee was good, and hey some ice water with lemon. Small things, small touches--not bad. I didn't see what I wanted on the menu (I probably wasn't looking hard enough!), so I described the type and kind of breakfast that I wanted. The server knew the menu well and happened to show me, on the menu, what I wanted. Service was fast and the food delicious. I wanted a more traditional breakfast and that is what I got. Like others have said, customizing what you want it not a problem. On the way out, the cashier made sure that I enjoyed my meal--it was not simply a matter of being ring up. Definitely recommended--and FYI, it is not pricey, quite reasonable in fact.

I haven't been to the First Watch in Lawrence for some time now, but spent the weekend in KC for a bridal show, so we had breakfast here before heading to the bridal show. It was packed on a Sunday morning around 10 (shocking, I know). It was an unseasonably nice day, so we sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine until our table was ready. Only a 20 minute wait, so that made me happy! The only minor complaint I have is that it was REALLY hot in there! Too warm and almost nauseating. I chose the far west omelet and it was excellent. I also like that they left a pitcher of water and a pot of coffee on our table. It was nice not having to wait for a refill.

There is a reason that First Watch is packed every Saturday and Sunday morning. Because it's amazing! And worth the wait! I love the Fairway location. There is not a bad seat in the house. The servers are incredibly friendly and chipper. You can get in and out fast (well, once you make it through the wait and to your table) or stay and enjoy your coffee and paper as long as you'd like. The food is simple, classic, American style breakfast food. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. And there are many lighter options available on the menu, so you won't leave feeling like you've just blown a day's worth of calories on your morning meal! Unless that is your plan...bc it can be accomplished, too. This is one of my go-to breakfast joints. I always leave satisfied!

I was eating here before a wedding with the groom and other groomsmen. It probably had something to do with the fact that we were all wearing tuxedos, but the waitress was very attentive, and when she was told that we had a bit of a time crunch, she expedited our service. I had the Acapulco Express omelet. The avocado was delicious, and the green chilis added a very nice kick to it. The breakfast potatoes and english muffin were standard. I give the food a 3.4-4, and the service a 5.

Service was totally friendly and just peachy. My two pancakes (bacon/cheddar and carrot cake with pecans) were probably the best I've ever had. I was blown away. I honestly debated ordered another set because they were so yummy! Loved the free newspapers too. Gave me something to read during my solo stay.

Having been to the Missouri side First Watch locations and North KC being our favorite, we were visiting a book seller in this area and decided to stop for a bite. The Chess Player had the Pecan Dijon salad and I choose the Forager omelet. I also got a Kale Tonic which filled me up so much that I could not get through even half my breakfast, it was that satisfying. Perhaps a juicer is in our future. We walked right in and were seated promptly, had an attentive, not hovering server and enjoyed our meal.

Friendly hosts, good food, horrible service. I don't leave negative reviews, this is my first. The service was this bad. We had Brande as our waitress and her response to us was always "sure in a few minutes" which equated to 15+ minutes. Glasses were always empty. Creamer for coffee when we first arrived, refill on soda, water, all the basics. She waited on other tables before us that were seated long after us. We are big tippers....usually. Don't treat your customers like they are a hassle. Just because you start off bad doesn't mean you can't do well the rest of the time. You treated us like a lost cause. That's too bad. Don't come here if you are in a hurry. We were here over an hour but not because we wanted to be. Seated quickly. Food was good. I recommend the Floridian French Toast.

Le Peep is still my favorite breakfast spot, but First Watch is really good, and has some good, healthier choices than Le Peep. Their coffee is delicious, and they have flavored creams available that you can add in, but they don't do espresso drinks- while Le Peep does have an espresso machine, and makes them amazingly well. I've tried lots of things on their menu and it's all good, although nothing is blow-my-socks-off incredible. The Tri-Athlete is good, as is the Floridian French Toast, and the Southwest Crepeggs. I'm not a pancake fan, but my family loves their pancakes. They have some new Quinoa bowls that are ok, but lacking some flavor. The Avocado Toast was underwhelming. I hope the other locations are getting the same updated decor treatment that the Fairway location has- it's very fresh and modern looking. Parking at the Fairway location can be a hassle, and expect a wait here in the mornings, especially on weekends.

Standard breakfast spot. The wait staff always seems to be pretty accepting of substitutes and special requests (e.g., fruit instead of breakfast potatoes, add tomatoes, no cheese, etc.) so don't be afraid to personalize your order! Just remember to tip well once your request has been accommodated.

This is the one close to my home, yet I frequent the one closer to my work. Regardless, the Fairway location still serves good food, locally purchased and the two times I've been it has been well-prepared. Today, lunch with a friend; he had a scramble while I went for the BLTE. The wait for food was a little long, but we were the start of the lunch rush. My sandwich was good, along with the fresh greens. My friend's breakfast dish looked appetizing and he made no complaint. Parking can be a bit tricky in this location; you may have to park in the back of the grocery store lot.

If you've not been to First Watch, you're missing out. The management and staff are wonderful. Always so attentive and friendly! The food is of a much higher quality than most breakfast places and I like that they have healthier options, that are always fresh and delicious. I recommend this place to all my friends and family. I've tried other breakfast places and they just don't compare. I always feel like other breakfast places, the food comes out extremely greasy and overdone. Not at First Watch though. You can't go wrong!!!

Not often giving of 5 star ratings, I give this because there is not 4.5 star rating, and I would like to see the average rating of this restaurant get a 4.5 rating. You see, this restaurant is perfect, other than typical American breakfast fare, they do the basics extremely well with a bright atmosphere and great wait staff. It is worth it for your Sunday brunch.

You know, First Watch is not so bad if you order the right things. The Triathlete omelet made of egg whites and stuffed with other goodies is similar to what we do with a bowl full of egg whites at home after using all the yolks to make ice cream custard. It is a real treat... and it is here, too. We did take out and arrived just after closing time of 230pm, and the dude running host duty came out to great us at the locked door. Nice touch. : )

This is a breakfast staple for our family. My wife, I, and our three young boys go hear about once a month. The food is great. It has a lot to choose from, including pancakes, waffles, granola, egg scrambles, and omelets. We have never had a bad meal. The wait can be long if you go on the weekends, especially in the spring and summer. Getting there early helps. The wait staff is very friendly, and is always excited to see us. If you like breakfast, this is a must visit.

I almost hate to admit how much I love this place. I'm addicted. First of all: the coffee. It's not your standard restaurant coffee, it's not just drinkable, but it can actually stand on it's own two feet. However, if you like creamer or flavorings they have plenty of half and half, vanilla creamer, and hazelnut creamer on the table. The best part? The fact that they give you an entire pot of coffee...none of this "by the mug full" nonsense or waiting for refills. Everyone has their ideal egg. I love poached, over easy, and occasionally scrambled. Every time, the eggs are fresh and cooked to perfection. Only one time did my poached egg come out with a solidified yolk. I informed the waitress, and within 60 seconds I had a new, perfectly poached egg. (They actually offered to remake the entire eggs benedict meal, but I'm not one to waste food). Speaking of the eggs benedict, it's the best I've ever had. Period. The first time I ordered it, I asked for the smoked turkey and avocado, and have never looked back. The combination of flavors is wonderful, and the portion is such that I can never eat the whole thing. Half order, anyone? Another favorite breakfast item of mine is the avocado, bacon, and tomato skillet. (Yes, I love avocados). A base of potatoes covered in melted cheese and the other ingredients mentioned is a true comfort food. I've also had their breakfast burrito, crepe eggs (sweet and thin), and fresh fruit crepes. All are wonderful, but I can't get over my love affair with the eggs benedict hollandaise sauce! There is no way I can say enough good things about the service or the management to even come close to how stellar they are. The entire waitstaff is friendly, and they have a sense of community and camaraderie that enhances their service to their patrons. Once you've been in a few times, the managers learn your name and the waitstaff remembers your drink order. I'm also the type of person who likes to take my time, and sometimes get some work done after breakfast. Everyone makes sure that you know you can take your sweet time, and leave anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours after you come in. As other reviewers have mentioned, they do get super busy on weekends. But even when they are busy, the wait is usually no more than 10-20 minutes, and the food and service are worth the wait. Overall, this place is a great way to start the day out. I always leave with a smile, prepared to take on the day!

Very busy when I visited but only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. Food stood up to my expectations of First Watch. Service was good - as it was busy I didn't get as much attention as I am used to but the waitress did leave a full coffee pot and pitcher of water on the table so that helped with the lack of personal attention.

First Watch is a great place to get a quick, cheap and delicious breakfast and service with a big, big smile. The food at First watch is great, but nothing exceptionally different from any other breakfast place. The key to the difference at First Watch is the service every time I have dined there my waiter or waitress has not only served me with a smile and genuine enthusiasm, but they seem to really LOVE breakfast! I don't blame them, breakfast is my favorite meal of the and I love going out to get it, especially at First Watch where I can be served by someone who shares a true passion and enthusiasm for breakfast like I do. When navigating the menu, give the Turkey Dill Crepe a thought- you will not be disappointed!

Here's another place I cannot believe I haven't reviewed. Just looking at the photos other Yelpers have posted makes me excited to go back. The two things I love best about this place are: 1) the service, and 2) the fact that they let you make substitutions with no fuss. My go-to order - - - a banana pancake with an egg over medium. Can't go wrong with any of the omelettes either. My only dislike is their coffee which is rather bitter.

This is an outstanding breakfast spot! We had an incredibly efficient and nice waitress that brought us even better food. I had the veg omelette which was tasty and too easy to finish! The pancakes my husband ordered were even better - best pancakes I've ever had (and I have eaten at a lot of good diners). The pancakes are fluffy and have an unbelievable taste to them - just right to satisfy anyone's morning sweet tooth! The only reason this place loses a star is because of the inside conditions. I understand remodeling but the inside looks pretty beat up with random wood pieces in some areas - a more proper name for the restaurant would be "Under Construction". However, I definitely plan on returning and ready to re-review when the remodel is finished and not under construction.

Love the menu at First Watch. This location is nice & quiet during weekdays. The fruit crepes are amazing & their version of eggs Benedict is by far my favorite anywhere!

A straight forward, no non sense breakfast and brunch spot that typically has families and older diners. Chickichanga is my go to!
