Glad to see the Starbucks sign after leaving Denver. Nice little place friendly, clean and good experience!
There really aren't many Starbucks in Kansas off the freeway but this one will make you smile and grin and let you focus on the road again. It's in this wonderful little Oasis gas and rest stop and it's a real Starbucks indeed!
Nice Starbucks location in a gas station food court in Colby, KS. The lobby area is fairly large and modern. Nice place to stop if you are in need of your caffeinne fix.

This is a dive bar, and the best burger in Colby Kansas. It's super greasy with lots of flavor. You walk into a bar with tv's, some arcade games, a shuttleboard table, and a foosball table. They have good food at reasonable prices.
We had cheeseburgers and fried pickles. The pickles were good and the cheeseburgers were good. Not a bad place to eat for a dive bar. Would definitely come back

Sometimes you need a meal on the run. Subway is a fine choice. Try a toasted BLT like we did and you will not be disappointed. Forget to have it toasted and you will not be happy! Add lite mayo (and toppings you love). Subway also has some new classic flavors... like the turkey/avocado/spinach. I had this one on the herbed Italian cheese bread and it was quite good. Again, toast it and add lite mayo or prepare for disappointment IMO.

Village Inn

2215 S Range Ave
Colby, 67701
Reviews:
I will never recommend this restaurant because they locked their doors to prevent us from coming in to eat. After a long day of driving around, our group of travelers arrived in Colby, Kansas, hoping to get a restaurant dinner. Village Inn is supposed to be open until 11pm and we arrived at 10:30, only to have them lock their doors to prevent us from entering. Apparently, they didn't want to have to actually cook and work so they could go home as close to 11pm as possible. We had to watch people in the restaurant eating and drinking, before walking off to the nearby truck stop to eat. If they don't want our business, then as far as I'm concerned, nobody should be giving them any business at all. Here's a clue Village Inn: if you actually want people to eat and spend money at your restaurant during your normal business hours, you'd better not turn business away. Tip: the truck stop is open 24 hours and the staff there is friendlier than Village Inn folks who don't care about the people who travel up/down I-70. And on the other side of the freeway are plenty of fast food restaurants who won't lock their doors to hungry travelers during their advertised open hours.
After the bad reviews I was reluctant to give this place a try. I was really hoping to find a great mom n pop diner for breakfast. This turned out to be pretty good. I got the Denver omelet and my son got the pancakes and ham.
I come here just for breakfast at lunch time. I can't get crepes anywhere else and to lazy to make them myself. So, I love the crepes, hashbrowns, and pancakes. The eggs are always just ok for me. They do have a kids menu which is nice. My problem lies with the service, it's slow. And we waited 20mins to have a piece of pie, and the waitress never came back. She just assumed we were done when finished our food. Well it was my birthday, so everyone wanted a piece of pie. They do have really good pie when you can get it to your table. Plenty of seating and very nice restrooms.

My family of 7 was passing through on I-70 and I decided to read the reviews of this place before stopping. They were mixed but my kids felt like pizza so we stopped in. Totally renovated and nice. Staff very helpful and even suggested a special that was perfect for my kids. Pizza was delicious, hot and fresh! Restaurant (and Bathrooms) was very clean and the cook even came out and asked us if everything was ok. We were really thrilled with this stop as we hadn't had Pizza Hut pizza in a long time. Great service and great price! Great find.
Great stop, fast and super friendly service. We were travelling and the little one needed to stretch his lil legs. Food was fresh, fast and good!! They gave great recommendations on gas and direction. Would definitely recommend for travellers and locals. Interior was clean and newly renovated. The bathrooms were clean and roomy.
We ordered delivery so I can't comment on the restaurant itself. Delivery was quick, they came directly to our room. Food was hot and just as we ordered. It would have been nice to have had plates and napkins knowing we were in a hotel. Also, there were no specials to choose from at this location. Aside from that, it's Pizza Hut... The kids like it and it was easy while on the road.

Walked in to this little gem to look at the menu and new I was in the right place immediately. The owners were sitting at a table in the back by the kitchen talking in Italian and their daughter was watching the Little Mermaid on the TV over the register. Very nice couple and service was professional and prompt. Mom suggested the Tour of Italy and I'm glad she did. It was fantastic, certainly not what I expected in small town Kansas. It's almost always the small "mom and pop" places that get it right.
Do not go here!!!!!! We just left. 6/5/15. Food was horrible. Supposedly the restaurant is closing at the end of the day. Unfortunately we found that out as we were leaving. The food was not good. A horrible stench came from the kitchen area after we ordered and the waiter disappeared. My husbands tea smelt like sewer water....NO JOKE!! we sent that back. We should have walked out then. Our mistake!! When we got our bill, we had to ask why we were charged for an adult spag when we ordered a kids. We were told we were given an adult portion so that is what the waiter charged us. We promptly told them we ordered a child's plate. It is not our fault if you bring an adult portion. From the reviews, I now see this has happened before. They also charged us 3.50 to add chicken to fettuccine when the menu clearly states it is only an extra $1. Fortunately they took both of the overcharges off our bill without a big stink. Luckily this place is closing. Colby will be better for it. Do not try to eat here!! We are just praying we do not get sick! Based on the reviews, I was looking forward to an authentic meal. This did not even come close!
This is a new little Italian place in Southwind Plaza, just opening about a month ago. The exterior and interior were definitely both still under construction - there was no signage on the outside, but they were in the process of building a small vestibule outside of the current entrance. (They're located in the southernmost unit of the eastern building of Southwind Plaza.) Inside the restaurant felt fresh and newly-constructed. At first the place seems TINY - it wasn't until we were leaving that I noticed there's an entire second story balcony seating area. Flooring was carpet (thin indoor/outdoor-type), walls were painted a light cappuccino brown but bare - they could definitely use some artwork! The tables were laminated with a cherry wood look - it looked like something you would find in a bar, but they were nice nonetheless. Mostly florescent lightning, which I do not like in a restaurant. I give the exterior/interior two to three stars - they have some work to do, but I think things are on the right track. Service was A-OK - everyone was generally nice, and I think they'll improve with more experience. Went on a Sunday evening and there was a small crowd, but plenty of empty tables to choose from. I had the Manicotti, my date had the Chicken Cacciatore. Both were very good, and the Chicken Cacciatore portion was very large. We also had the Fried Calamari, which was alright - good, not great. The bread was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. For the price, I think the food was a great value and a welcome breath of fresh air in a market where the featured entree at every other restaurant is steak or a burger. Overall a generous 4/5 - really more like 3.5/5 with the decor, but I'm confident they'll continue to improve. If you're driving by and looking for something not fast food, not generic restaurant steak/chicken/burgers menu, give this place a try!

We had supper here tonight. Our order was taken immediately and we had our food within minutes. The food was hot, fresh, and tasty. We got beef and cheddar sandwiches and the must-have curly fries. It was overall a good experience, and a likely road trip stop in the future.
OK. It's Memorial Day. Lots of travelers enduring Western Kansas' I-70 and looking for lunch. Arby's is a national chain. Shouldn't go wrong, right? We did! The place was crowded - Mem Day as mentioned - and the line was almost out the door. Why? Because they had only one counter person taking orders. Hmmm. What are those other two order screens for? With all the money you're taking in, Mr. and Mrs. Arby, you can't pay a couple high school kids minimum wage to take orders and speed up service in a FAST FOOD restaurant? The food was typical Arby's. You know what you're getting and how much it's going to cost. No complaints there. The deal breaker, however, was the filthiness of the place. Table tops were filmy. Almost every table and booth were occupied during the twenty minutes we were eating. I didn't see anyone bussing any tables during that time. However, the proverbial straw was the fact that the salt and pepper shakers were so sticky, they literally stuck to my hands when I picked them up to move them. My wife will tell you I'm far from squeamish about restaurant cleanliness, but I had to go wash my hands before daring to pick up my sandwich. I could only imagine the hundreds of hands that had touched those S&P shakers since they were last cleaned, if ever. Yikes! Needless to say, we won't be returning.
Worst Arby's ever!!! Dirty store, employees are clueless and slow.. Don't waste your time!!!!

They are open until 11pm on weeknight, midnight on fri and saturday. When you are doing the "straight thru" drive and need some caffeine and sustenance this place does the trick! Staff was very friednly and didn't care that i hit up the rest room prior to ordering my 2.34 cent snack! Coffee and a burger! Easy on and off the highway, decent amount of parking, not a ton. I'm pretty thankful that they were there!
When you think McDonalds breakfast you think... Ehh well at least it's fast breakfast..that's reasonably edible.. But that's at every OTHER McDs. We waited 10 minutes in the drive through for a mcGriddle and hashbrowns. Then when I went to eat it.. It was probably the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth. No way was that fresh. We had just waited 10 minutes for the heat lamps to warm up the hashbrowns from 2 weeks ago.
Well this McDonald's may be small, but at least it's DIRTY! The only dirtier McDonald's I have been in was in Mississippi, and that hardly counts..it's in the Third World. No joking the flies outnumbered the people 10 to 1.
