Bagger Dave’s Menu

Outstanding burgers with some of the best service around. Almost perfectly corner clean but the value isn't there. Everything is expensive. I'd do it again as a treat because service and quality was awesome but plain and simple, it is a burger place. Miller's ale House has awesome food and service but the value they provide far out-weigh's this comparable bar spot. Sorry, 19.00 with tip for a bleu cheese burger and cup of chili (without even a beer) doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies for a good night of Monday night football stress release! I am clearly not the target demographic so...great place for those who have more disposable beer money than me!

This wasn't a planned stop, but it was a pleasant one. My dinner was the grilled chicken parm sandwich with a garden salad. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful. It was seasoned perfectly and topped off with a good balance of toppings and cheese. Our server seemed new, but was attentive and accommodating with the slight adjustments to my food requests. Make sure you look up to see the train going around the elevated track.

Stopped here on a weekend afternoon with a friend, trying it for the first time. Service was friendly and we were seated immediately, although we had to wait for a booth to be cleared (and the place was basically empty). Server was great providing menu information for first-timers, although if I had known just how large the bag of french fries was, I think we would have shared. I ordered the California BLT in anticipation of avocado being layered into the works, but when it arrived, there was none. Server was most apologetic and said this was the second time today the kitchen had improperly sent out the same sandwich. I just asked for avocado on the side rather than a complete re-order, and she brought guacamole spread for my sandwich. All in all, it was tasty. My companion ordered off the build-your-own-burger menu and was highly pleased with her sandwich and sweet potato chips. It is a tad noisy in there with the high ceiling creating a sound tunnel. Also, it seemed that something was crashing to the floor every few moments, jolting us from conversation with the sound of shattering glass or clanking metal. Will I go back? Sure, I'll give it another try!

Eh. In the middle of dinner here. Talk about yuck. The meat in the burgers were super dry. My chicken was overly done and dry. The buns were overly toasted or old. Buns came apart. No hint of freshness. The fries were severely greesy. My friends peach drink was the best thing out of the night. I tried it, it was actually good. My friends ranch was questionable. She asked the Manager, he said it was ranch and it had chunks. But he couldn't say what was the chunks were. I tried it, it tasted like Thousand Island. After the Manager came back, and we expressed our opinion on the food. All he said, was I'm sorry about that. Never again. Trying a new place on a whim.

Wow. What a great place! An awesome assortment of burgers, sandwiches, sides, and milkshakes (including their own handcrafted sodas), a great assortment of beers and ciders on draft as well as signature cocktails, comfortable clean seating, and plenty of TVs to watch the game overlooking an expansive bar with free wifi? What's not to like here? Came here and created my own custom burger with smoked gouda, chipotle BBQ sauce, applewood bacon, and sauteed onions on a brioche bun with a side of sweet potato fries and a pumpkin shake. Everything was delicious and came out with the quickness. Plus, I had a perfect seat to watch the Bulls Knicks game in comfort. I can see this place stealing some business from BW3 just down the road...

I have a love hate relationship with this place. Good food but expensive. Service is again slow. 5:45 means 5:45.

They're here at Schererville Soccer-a-rama supporting the kids and organization. Great job and thanks!

Nice place...maybe a little loud with the music, but somehow my eight month son slept through most of dinner. Oh well... My wife and I were able to hold a conversation, I mean, we didn't have to yell at one another just talk a little louder than usual. The wait was short, the place was busy but very, VERY organized. The staff was friendly and the service was awesome. My Trainwreck Burger was delicious, however, the Cutters Floyd's Folly it was good, but it was a bit strong ... not a big fan - yet.

Nice atmosphere. The kids loved watching the trains go above the restaurant and looking at all the pictures on the walls (which is nice they stay entertained!) Very clean and nice decor overall. Lots of TVs as well. Food was great value for money, especially the build your own menu. Food is fresh and their handcrafted soda is nice. Can't complain. We will be back!

For a place that truly specializes in burgers, I can honestly say this place didn't really wow me. Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that they have their own line of sodas and that you can create your own fry and sandwich concoctions. However, it is really over-priced for what you're getting as everything is a-la-carte. There are a ton of places around this area that are a much better value than this place, so save some cash and go elsewhere.

Had my first experience at BD's today. All in all we had a great experience. The prices for what you get are a tad high. I wish fries came with your burger, especially since their competitor down the street offer unlimited fries with your burger. I had the turkey burger, I think it was southwest style I can't remember the name but it was really good! Little greasy but good. Loved the sauce that came on it. I got the bbq sauce for my fries and it was really good! My husband had a burger bowl and really enjoyed it! The biggest negative is the seating, it's table on top of table. I'm currently 8 months pregnant and I need some extra room. Lol With all that being said, we will be back! I want to try their pop!

Once again the wife couldn't make up her mind about what she wanted to eat for dinner. It was 8:00 P.M. and she had her heart set on Carrabba's Italian Grill. We went there and the wait was an hour to an hour and fifteen. Then her heart was set on Tomato Bar. The wait at Tomato Bar was an forty-five minutes to an hour. Her heart was again reset now focused on Bagger Dave's or Boston's...Oh her little indecisive heart. We walked into Bagger Dave's around 8:15 and we told by the hostess that it was going to be about thirty minutes. With our three year old in hand, we decided to stay. The patrons of now three different local eating establishments had already noted how horrible our parenting was, having our sweet little baby go without dinner until 8:30 at night. Stop judging, she had her weight in pop tarts and smarties after her nap. The menu at Bagger Dave's lists a bakers dozen or so of different style hamburgers. Nothing to crazy, but some interesting topping combinations. The biggest burger I saw was 8oz's. That didn't make me very happy. I ordered the barbecue bacon burger and the wife ordered the blue burger (blue cheese and a fried egg). Because my wife said I had to, we decided to cut our respective burgers in half and exchanged a half of our burger for a half of the others burger. In my opinion the barbacue burger was far superior to the blue burger. I think the blue burger would taste better if it were on a traditional bun instead of a pretzel roll. I give the barbecue burger a 3 out of 5 and the blue burger a 2 out of 5. The burger (meat) was very good quality (according to the menu it was prime rib meat), who am I to argue. As far as the decor, it was very cold. The lights are too bright and the furniture is a wood/metal industrial mix. It didn't feel like the owners are interested in anyone staying too long after they eat. It has a very "fast food feel." Our food came out in a basket instead of a plate and the fries came in a a cardboard box. It just felt like sit in take out. Our waitress, Nicole, was great. She had a positive attitude and a nice smile. She made conversation with out three year old and made sure to bring my wife a new glass of pop just as she was finishing her first one. There are so many burger joints in the tri-town area. That being said, Bagger Dave's ranks somewhere above the middle of the road in comparison. Not showing off, not falling behind.

The food was very expensive for what you get. Almost $9.00 for a burger with no fries. The food wasn't that good. I won't be going back.

Burger was ok but nothing to get excited about. We got cheese fries which may have been good if it was cheese melted on fresh fries not ones that I think were sitting there for a long time. No flavor and soggy. They are known for mac and cheese and this one is far from even just an ok rating. Good Mac and cheese is creamy and gets better the longer it sits...this was an oily mess that again had no flavor. It's cool they make their own soda but that was nothing to brag about either. The place is cute and clean and the server was friendly and knowledgable I just wish the food was better.

Overs liked their burgers. See my photo of the BLT. Horrible. Cost me$9.00 for two maybe three pieces of baccon and a two greasy grilled pieces of bread. Yuk!

My family and I loved Bagger Daves! The burgers are fresh and tasty and the fries are amazing. The service was really good as well. We were told by our sever to download the app and we would get a free appetizer. We will definitely return.

Atmosphere was very cool. The special drinks are good but the food was good but not great. We would go back but it is not high on the have to go back list

This place is amazing! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, smiles everywhere. Our server Shelby was fantastic and made the whole experience wonderful. By far the best burger in the area, they advertise to use all fresh ingredients and you can definitely taste it. Now I can't wait for the new one in Crown Point to open!!!

Love atmosphere, service, food, beers- like how you can pick your burgers (toppings, type of bun, etc) and the loaded fries are awesome! (Pick your own toppings there too)

  • Barrey J.

Dig it! Everything was exactly as I ordered. Came within a decent timeframe. First time here. Atmosphere was good for the time, Sunday Afternoon. Just loud enough to hear the game, and still have a conversation with the person across from me. Don't know how it would be during primetime hours, but I'd come again!

We had been wanting to try this place and finally took the dive, we loved it!!!!! We had Mike V. as our waiter in the bar, he was phenomenal! He gave us the full run down of popular dishes and personal favorites. He answered every question we had before we even had to ask. My fiance ordered the train wreck and loved it!!! I'm not a burger person normally but the great American burger was perfect!

We wanted a great burger, fries, and soda...we should of went to Burger King. I selected the 4 oz. patty...must of been the pre-cook weight...it was tiny! I wanted a Coke, they only have their own house made soda. The fries...nothing memorable. We would go back if no other burger option was available...the interior is ok, but if u r on a date, don't pick this place, the lighting is very unfriendly. The bar looked cute, we didn't sit in the bar, but if we ever go back it would be to sit in the bar. The waitress tried but the ordering process was complicated so she was fumbling around on her tablet for a bit to get our order together...ok...after re-reading my review, we won't be back.

Came here last night since we were in the area and wanted to try something new. Beautiful cozy place, not too loud or crowded considering it was around normal dinner time. Our server was great, even suggested a caffeine free homemade soda option for me (since I'm currently 9 months pregnant!). It seemed to take longer than I had expected for our food to make its way out to us - I ordered a "build it yourself" burger with a single turkey patty and some fixings on a pretzel bun, my fiancé opted for a normal beef burger on a sesame bun. I also decided to try the sweet potato chips, while he got regular fries. Everything tasted fine, nothing too extravagant or over the top. We had an overall good experience here, nothing to write home about I suppose. Seemed a little pricey for burgers, but I could see the allure of the homemade craft sodas and the craft whiskey and beer selections. We would definitely give it another try!

I have been here 3x's so far and everything has been outstanding. I guess the only reason for not getting 5 stars is because of the limited menu choices. The first time I went I had to go with just a simple burger (create your own). It is rare (not sure why) to get a burger stacked with the lettuce and cold trimmings on the bottom of the burger. It really reminds me of the way you would get an In N Out burger, which I love. The burger was outstanding quality and you can tell a difference between a place like this and getting the frozen patties at like a Applebee's. The fries were also outstanding and can tell are hand cut. The second time I went I got a single patty version of the Sante Fe Turkey burger. Although it is a bit sloppy at the end, which you should expect with gauc and sauce, it was also very good. For those that like spicy and also like mac and cheese IT IS A MISTAKE not to try the smokin hot mac n cheese. It is basically pico mixed with some sort of hot sauce in their mac n cheese. It is VERY good and would possibly consider having it on it's own as an entree. Third time I was there didn't venture too far from the first two by getting turkey burger and splitting fries (it was lunch and was trying not to nap an hour later). Service was outstanding every time. You can tell it's a newer restaurant because they have so many staff working and they seem to be all over the place. The onyl minor issue is the amount of time it can take to order your create your own burger because the server has to enter it into the mini tablet they all have. Prices are a bit high but I don't mind paying it when I can get this quality + service.

Burgers were good. But how do you not include the fries with them??? You have to order them separately. The place is very loud. Hard to have a conversation there. But the train decor is too cute. Service that day was fast and we had no wait to get a table. But I would call ahead first to see if there is a wait.

  • Michelle H.

The burgers and chicken sandwiches are delicious! The side items are average. The service was great. Mike V. Did a great job taking care of us and encouraged us to try things we wouldn't have otherwise chosen.it seems a little expensive for a beer and burgers place so we are giving three instead of four stars, but we enjoyed the food and will probably come back.

Had amazing service. Food is good but not cheap. $5 for a small burger that was on a giant bun. Great beer selection. Not sure I would go back.

Tried this place out for my mother's birthday. First, the wait was extremely long. This was understandable since it was a Saturday night, but it would have been nice if someone offered to let us look at a menu at least. When we were finally sat, our table had a decent-sized puddle of water underneath it. Our server came over to the table and asked if we had been to Bagger Dave's before. None of us had, but since one person in our party had gone to the restroom, she told us she would come back to explain the menu. I thought it was kind of odd that she didn't at least ask for our drink orders. When we finally ordered, we got the Chips and Pico as an appetizer with a side of Guacamole. The chips were very stale. The Guacamole didn't taste like Guacamole at all. It honestly resembled more of a "mashed avocado" spread than Guacamole. When we received our burgers and fries (which are not included with the burger as mentioned in previous reviews), we noticed that the bigger burgers were pretty small - an 8 oz. looked just like the 4 oz. One of our burgers arrived without the sauce ordered on it. Another burger (my burger) ordered "Medium" was practically mooing at me on the bun. I would definitely say that it was rare and no where near medium. I sent it back. When the server finally brought my new burger, everyone was already finished eating. The new burger was charred on the outside and a little tough. I'm more of medium-medium rare, but I wasn't going to send my food back yet again. I ate half of it, and it honestly wasn't even close to the best burger I've ever had. I wouldn't even call it mediocre. The sad excuse for bacon was small, broken up pieces on top of the cheese and beef. There was so much mustard on it that I could barely taste anything else. The "custom" fries that we ordered (bacon, ranch, and cheddar) were sad. There was a slight drizzle of ranch, and most of the cheddar was stuck to the plate rather than the fries themselves. The manager did approve a free sundae for my mother's birthday thanks to our server for asking. The sundae was probably the best part of the entire meal, and I wouldn't even really rave about it. The only reason that I am giving Bagger Dave's two stars is for our server, Stefanie. Other than the whole ordeal of her leaving the table and coming back in the beginning, she was great, and I really appreciated her kind and courteous service! She definitely went above and beyond to provide us with the best experience possible despite the disappointing food. When it comes to burgers, I'll stick to Octave.

Sat at the bar. Our bartender Charley and Roger were very nice and friend. That's the good part. Now regarding our food order...it took over an hour. Somehow our order got lost...fries were cold and our burger was not all that.

Came in with my brother, fantastic atmosphere Stephanie gave us fantastic service! I built my own turkey burger and he built his own beef burger. He couldn't stop talking about how amazing the burger was!

I was visiting NWI for the weekend, and I drove past Bagger Dave's on the way to my friend's house. I'm from the region originally, but I haven't spent much time there lately, so I was surprised to see all of the development that has happened lately - this restaurant being part of that. I mentioned it to my friend once I got to his house, and he knew what I was talking about once I described the location. He called them to make sure they were actually open for business now, and we decided to go give them a try. They have a Build-Your-Own Burger option that we both took advantage of - and we both really enjoyed our final creations. We also shared an order of the Build-Your-Own fries, and I added a side of Mac and Cheese to my meal. My friend really enjoyed his meal, and now I'm hoping they open one of these in Cincinnati! I only wish I'd had room to try one of their delicious-sounding milkshakes.

Encountered the most rudest so-called manager named Jeremy. I will never patronize this place again. They couldn't get a simple order of fries correct. Let alone being overpriced. Stay away. The service is good but not worth the price or dealing with rude manager. Too many other restaurants close by.

    (1)
  • Jeff M.

Great food, great service, great apmosphere. The food menu is somewhat limited and the burgers are overpriced. I wish fries came with the burgers since a few hundred yards away is a place that offers unlimited fries with their overpriced burgers. They have a large drink menu featuring craft beers, wine and their own soda's. We were there with 12 people at 6:00 PM on a Saturday night. They got us a table within 25 minutes.

  • H M.

Food was pretty good and the service was excellent! Megen did a great job taking care of us. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because their liquor is way overpriced. Other than that, very good ,

Just visited this place with my husband to celebrate his birthday. We passed this place on a whim looking for somewhere to eat. We decided to give it a shot and we were both pleasantly surprised. My husband really liked his burger and said it was one of the best burgers he's ever had. I had the turkey burger and it was great. The chipotle sauce and guacamole made it a bit messy, but it tasted great, so I wasn't very concerned with that. I told the waitress, Tiara, that it was my husband's birthday and she told him to pick a dessert from the menu, on the house. We had the strawberry cheesecake which was very good. The service was great, and the wait time was minimal. I really liked the atmosphere and decor. We will definitely be back.

Ok... I don't mind spending $$ on a good burger... With that said, it won't be here! It was not busy and our server was over eager with explaining the menu, the sodas, etc. I asked to try their diet soda...he pushed for me to try 3 more. So, you can imagine my surprise when I was charged for them. Then, I asked for 2 kids meals to go (burgers and fries). They are smaller than the regular ones and perfect size for my kids. I get the bill and he charged me for 2 smaller size burgers, 2 small fries..and this was after his 5 minute explanation on the kids size meals! So he got an extra $12 for the to go order plus the soda sampler. Maybe he didn't get enough tables to serve? They don't pay well...? So, I can get a better burger elsewhere...

  • Christin H.

This place was not clean. Service was very slow! I expect that when a place is just open but it's been awhile. My burger was greasy and nasty. Also so much mustard that it took several napkins to wipe it all off shat s mess. Had yo ask fir napkins they did not come with the meal. The french fries were not good either. I will not go back 25 bucks for two burgers and fries should be awesome. Not worth waiting for. Go to five guys much better.

  • Region R.

Okay, I went back and my burger (and my friend's chicken sandwich) were both far closer to their advertised half-pound size than the first time I went. The burgers are delicious and the fries are perfect. I think the fries are like $3.50 a bag, but the bag IS gigantic, and the dipping sauces are awesome. If you don't mind spending $40 on burgers/fries/pop with a friend or loved one, this place is worth checking out.

I had the non-spicy Mac n cheese and my boyfriend had the Chicken Caesar Salad. We sat at the bar and the girls were extremely nice and super informative. The Mac n Cheese was relatively bland and clearly over cooked (in the microwave, considering it was burnt around the edges and at the bottom). The salad was extremely dry, and then we were charged $.50 for each additional dressing (which would've been fine had they filled the container the extra dressing was in, rather than have it 1/2 filled forcing us to purchase another). About halfway through our meal, the bartender gave us the check. I know some places (Applebee's for example) keep your updated tab in a glass in front of you on the bar, but this was in a checkbook and placed in between my boyfriend and I. We were each planning on having at least one more drink, and possibly dessert, which would've added to our bill/the bartenders tip... I work in this industry, I don't rush my tables out and I don't appreciate being rushed when I'm out.

  • Nick F.

Burger was good but menu is overpriced. I'll go to Culvers or Red Robin next time for a burger. Burgers do not come with a side so you have to pay 3.50 for a side of chips or fries and the side is a small portion.

Service fast and attentive but food not up to par. All food was only luke warm. Tasty but only average and certainly does not live up to the hype or price. One and done. Also was offered the chance to provide feedback via website but for 2 days website down. Too many users providing negative feedback?

I understand business is buisness! The staff was VERY FRIENDLY AND HAPPY. The burger and the other food my family ordered was no better than a regular restaurant. We spent almost 40 dollars and we didn't get much but the place was nice and clean.

My boyfriend and I had wanted to try this restaurant for a long time since we love burgers, but after trying this place we were sadly disappointed. This place is nothing special. The food was okay at best... It was kind of bland. Nothing really stuck out about the food. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. They messed up my order twice, but since I've worked in the restaurant business I was nice about it. For 2 people to eat, our bill was over $32 dollars and all we got was a burger a piece and a side Mac and cheese with both. Very expensive for what you get. I would've rather have gone to five guys or red robin instead. Unfortunately this place is a big let down. I won't be going back here anytime soon..

Own made soda is nothing special and much prefer coca cola. Burgers are nothkng special either. Overall boring.

  • Brian B.

Service was good but burgers are bland. One of our orders came out in correct, also but was quickly fixed. Soda is good but sides are expensive and not really unique. I had the train wreck and was underwhelmed. Five Guys or Meatheads is better and cheaper. The decor and atmosphere is nice and staff was attentive.

Excited to try this new place for my birthday with the family. We were a party of 5 on a Monday night 6:00pm. It was not crowded. The server was very friendly, but 3 out of 4 burgers came out incorrectly. She was apologetic, and the mistakes were fixed quickly, but still this was disappointing. It also took a long time for the appetizer bowl of chili to come out. It was just okay. For $6.50 /bowl, I expected a lot more from it. This place is very expensive, and sides all a la carte. The burgers were good, but I don't think any better than Meatheads or 5 Guys, and you can save a lot of money going there. Also, the fries at Meatheads or 5 Guys are far superior in my opinion. For my birthday, she gave me a free small scoop of ice cream with whip cream, but just sort of threw it on the table, no singing Happy Birthday or anything. Finally, the check took forever to come after we were done eating. With all of the burger joints in town, I think you could do better for cheaper. I would not go back.

We tried this place at 11 am on a Sunday morning -- pretty much the first people in the door when they opened. Decor was nice and the table/booth for our party of seven was comfortable. Ordering was a bit complicated and prices where on the high side after you end up ordering everything alacarte. But if you're gonna charge $10 for a burger and another $3+ for a side of chips or fries, it better be great. Sadly it wasn't. But worst of all was most of the food brought to our table was lukewarm. Fries, burgers, soup ... all lukewarm. How can that even happen when you're the first customers of the day? I sent my meal back and the rest of my party just ate their lukewarm food (cowards). This place is overpriced and offers nothing special. Their homemade sodas are tasty but expensive and come with no refills. Server was great but servers don't make the restaurant. Vast room for improvement.
