HotBox Pizza Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

This was our first time at a HotBox. Taste-wise, we weren't big fans of the sausage pizza. Not bad, but we probably wouldn't go back. They have vegan options and I also liked the fact that they used regular, washable cups rather than disposable for dine-in. I found it on the high end as far as pizzas go with the 16.99 pizza, breadsticks, and two sodas really being the deal of choice.

So I am normally a monster Hotbox fan but this time I just was not getting down with it. I ordered the special which is $16 and then a small summer pie somehow my order magically was $33. I am not sure how that happened but they were really busy and I figured I would look at the receipt but didn't get one so just forgot about it. The breadsticks at this location just seemed a little off, dry. Normally they are fantastic. The pepperoni pizza was great and hot but not cut all the way. The summer pie was ok but I would not order it again. Just not ingredients on it. I also was not the biggest fan of the wheat crust. All in all I was a little sad I spent $33 on this meal that night. But my kids will eat pizza every night of their night.

HotBox still has, in my mind, some of the best breadsticks around. Plus that pizza is pretty darn good too. We've also always had good service here. Sometimes it's a bit slow, but they've never messed up an order or anything like that in the handful of times we've eaten in or gotten takeout. This location doesn't have the same charm for me as the Purdue location does, but that's probably because I've been here after a night at the bars a lot less often. So, it might not be the best, but it's still some darn good pizza and tasty breadsticks.

My wife and I like their pizza. We have been there a few times and will continue to go here. We usually get half pepperoni half sausage. The staff is pretty friendly too.

The pizza is decent just like all of there other locations but the staff is awful. Seems to be run by nothing but a bunch of highshoolers. Went in early on a Friday not super busy but at lest 5 orders that were placed after mine seemed to get finished before ours. And when we finally got the pizza it wasn't even cut all the way.

The service here has gone down quickly to say the least. Dirty tables, rude staff, and even sub-par pizza and breadsticks have me thinking twice before eating here again. Management needs to get it together before another eatery leaves Metropolis.

Oh my, this business needs some love. Maybe it is because I have only been eating at this location for the past year or so but I have never had a truly "bad" experience here. First, let me say I have eaten at 4 different Hot Box locations, Purdue, B'Ripple, downtown and here. This location I have probably visited the most for something other than breadsticks...I love Hot Box breadsticks! Don't know what it is about them, but they are addicting and I randomly crave them and am so glad they are on the west side nowadays. I will admit, the last time I got them (last week) something seemed slightly off but I am hoping was just a fluke and next time will be back to it's regular deliciousness. I am a huge fan of both the garlic and ranch dipping sauces! We've ordered a few different pizzas, different crusts, toppings, etc. Always good, tons of customization options which I LOVE at a pizza place. We got The Aloha on hippie crust last time and it was great. We used online ordering for the first time too and it was hot & ready on time! Excellent. The occasional service experience can be slightly less than friendly but most everyone here has been great. I will probably be back soon, to make sure the breadsticks are back to normal!

This review needs a bit of background. A few days ago, I went to the downtown location, where they had some technical difficulties and I had to wait 20-25 minutes for the pizza. As a result, I received 2 certificates for the "Deal" (pizza, sticks, 2 drinks). I took those certificates to this location, and was told they were for $2 off of the deal. Despite my logical protests and fantastic reading ability, they would not work to help us out. The certificate clearly stated it was for a free pizza, sticks, and drinks, which means this location literally worked us over. If hotbox management is reading this review, I personally will never go to this location again and will make sure no one in my office will go there either.

I hate to give this place one star but I wasn't able to get through one piece of pizza. How can a pizza be both greasy AND dry? I ordered a large spicy pepperoni pizza and cheese sticks with all the sauces. The pepperoni were small and thin, not my favorite. The cheese sticks were extremely greasy and salty. I liked the cheese sauce ok, it was pretty thick, nacho cheese. The pizza sauce wasn't good, chunky with an off flavor that I wasn't impressed with. The crust was thick, maybe that was part of the problem since I like thin. The pizza just gave me heartburn and I was only able to eat one cheese stick and half a slice. The parking is non existent because it is in the Metropolis outside mall. You have to park in the movie theater parking. It was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. The price was reasonable. I have yet to find a pizza place in Indy, especially around Avon that is good. Monicals is the best bet for me, though their pizza is pretty greasy as well.

Decided to try it out with a Groupon deal. Definitely wouldn't pay $3.99 for breadsticks - they were pretty dry and nothing special. I always hate it when you have to pay for an extra dipping sauce, but even those didn't redeem the breadsticks themselves. We got the "HotBox" special pizza - pepperoni and banana peppers- on a whole wheat crust. The pepperoni were good, overall the pizza was definitely "meh". Probably won't come back, my homemade pizza is better.

The first time I had this I enjoyed it but wasn't totally impressed. The breadsticks were chewy and tasted like they had been sitting out a while. The pizza itself (Chicken Ranch with whole wheat crust) was okay but after the first slice the crust got weird. The staff left a lot to be desired. It was the first day of the girl who took our order (and we all know what first days are like) so we were understanding, especially since it seemed like they hadn't given her any training. The manager who was helping her was a pretty big b**** to her and to us. My second order was frustrating. I'd been putting it off for a while because their website would not let me order online for deliver OR takeout. I tweeted them about it a few weeks ago and they said they'd look into it but apparently have not. I am a bit socially anxious so I don't like to call places, especially when I shouldn't have to since online ordering is offered. Anyway, I finally called and the girl didn't seem to know if they delivered to my home or not. (they only deliver within a certain number of miles.) She didn't actually answer me but instead abruptly asked me my phone number. Taken aback, I took this as 'Yes we do deliver to your house ma'am." and gave her my info. My order actually arrived a little earlier than I was told which was great, I was starving! Boy was I disappointed. Again, the breadsticks were really chewy and bland, not even the dipping sauce (marina) could save them. The pizza was just as chewy and bland, nothing special at all and again, not even the sauce could save it. I actually think the dipping sauce was the best part of the order. The Tootsie Rolls are nice too but since they put them in the box with a hot pizza they get melty and sticky which is not okay. For the prices they're charging you do not get your moneys worth. Needless to say, I probably won't be coming back.

I went here on my birthday. I walked up to the counter and the guy sized by me and said I've got to make this order! He said it real impatiently. He never greeted me at all and was very rude. After standing at the counter and being ignored by him for a long period of time- it was obvious he did not want to take my order or wait on me, I left. He made me feel like I was a bother for just walking in his resteraunt. Needless to say it put a blotch on my nice day that I WAS having! When I called to make a complaint I basically got blown off, also. I won't ever go there again!! Terrible and humiliating experience!
