Nice breakfast place. Obviously, the pancakes are a good choice, although, I'm not sure if I would recommend the more "desserty" type pancakes (unless you were hoping to become a diabetic soon). All the fruits are subbed for a strange syrup/fruit jelly topped with powered sugar. Not a fan. I CAN recommend the skillets though, which are basically huge scrambles of all your favorite breakfast items. I got the Mediterranean scramble which was gyro meat, feta cheese, sautéed onions and peppers all thrown over a bed of scrambled eggs and hash browns. Yum. The servings are also pretty big and I almost always have leftovers to bring home. Just FYI, It can get busy on Sat/Sun morning but I don't think we've ever waited longer than 15 minutes for a table. All in all, a solid breakfast choice on the Westside area!

Flap Jack Pancake House is a nice place to come and grab some breakfast that tastes like it was made at home (in a good way). I ordered the skillet and thought it was very good. It needed a little salt, but I would rather have to add than have it be too salty. I did not really like the coffee, but everything else was good. I think what most impressed me about Flap Jacks was the service. Our coffee was always full, we were seated right away, the hostess and waitress were very friendly, and our food came out quickly. There wasn't a wait or a line for anything (I'm always a fan of that!). Very nice.

When your fork is holding a piece of a biscuit and you can see the flour on it, you know it was handmade. And then you taste the layers of dough and the sweetness of the biscuit and you DEFINITELY know it was homemade. That's Flap Jacks. I pass this place every time I take US-40 to Terre Haute yet I never stopped in for breakfast or lunch. The parking lot is always packed and now I know why. Open the large menu and you'll find every variation of eggs, biscuits, sausage and bacon imaginable. But you'll also find veggie omelets, breakfast sandwiches, sweet french toast and chipped beef in gravy (which is what I had) and all of it is authentic and delicious. You CANNOT beat the price. At all. My dad and I ate here (chipped beef with gravy and hash browns for me, he had eggs with hash browns and pancakes, all incredibly large portions) all for under $15.00. How had I been passing this place up?? Flap Jacks has five locations and I will surly be back at one of them to try out their lunch menu. Great food, great service. I'll be dreaming about that breakfast for a while now.

Simple plain jane restaurant, but not their food! I got the Italian skillet and pancakes with pecans. The skillet was great! The pancakes were a little thick and dense, I prefer them thinner with a nice crunch on them. Our waitress was friendly and the perfect amount of attention. There were a few other people there, not a packed house but not empty either, a nice turn out for a Friday late breakfast. We got our food super fast- will be going back hopefully soon!

This review can be summed up in one word, cold. The pancakes, eggs and hash browns were luke warm at best. Also I said out loud "this is the worst cup of coffee I have ever had" very burnt coffee. Service was not bad and we got plenty of refills. The food is just lacking in anything really special. I could have had a fast food pancake and it would have tasted the same. The only thing I truly enjoyed is the proximity to US 40 and Plainfield makes it feel like a small vacation along the national highway.

I had big hopes for Flap Jack, alas, I was not impressed. I was expecting the kind of down home breakfast that makes you grab your belly and groan in delight at how full you are. If you're like me in this sense, this is not the breakfast joint for you. I ordered the Western Omelette, which was ok. Just ok. My hashbrowns were brown on the outside, but still really uncooked on the inside, and my coffee was lukewarm. I'm usually down for any kind of breakfast you can imagine, but I definitely won't be stopping here for my next breakfast rendezvouz.

Awesome. I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Service is friendly, food is great and you get your order pretty quickly. Never had to wait more than 10 minutes for the food to show up. Wish the were open later (close at 3pm).

Food is good and portions are good. So glad they have tuned their televisions away from Fox News; can't take the propaganda news station.

Ambiance: Classic breakfast-joint feel, nothing really outstanding here. Service: Five stars in this department, very friendly and attentative. Food: I got the sunrise which was biscuits & gravy, 2 links, and 2 eggs. Biscuits were moist and buttery and covered with a meaty sausage gravy which wasn't too salty. My sunny-side up eggs were perfect and the sausages were solid although I could have used a little stronger sausage flavor. Coffee was also surprisingly good. Fiance had the farmhouse benedict which is basically a LARGE country fried steak served on a biscuit with the same tasty gravy on top, an egg, and crispy hash. Overall this place is awesome, very solid food for a great price and served by friendly staff. It's certainly not pushing any gourmet boundaries (except maybe the flapjacks i didn't get to try) but it's good 'ol home-style cooking which fills the belly. I'd gladly come here again.

This is a great place for breakfast. The service is great and so is the food. Flap Jacks is very clean and a has a wide variety of choices on the menu. The thick french toast and Farmers Benedict are excellent. The best thing about Flap Jacks are the waitresses. The are always smiling and helpful. Great place to eat in Plainfield.

This is me and my wife's go to breakfast spot! Every time we go in the service is fantastic! Good is never ever a disappointment. The French toast is to die for and the skillet meals are too notch. Coffee is great and your mug is never empty. Wish the parking was a little better but I can get past that. I recommend this place to EVERYONE I know.

Fantastic. Independent business, terrific food in huge portions for little money. It's the perfect combination. Friendly waitstaff, fun atmosphere, and again, all their food is top notch. Good coffee, too. The best place for breakfast in Avon or Plainfield. I sense a new dukedom coming on...

Torn between 3 and 4 stars...large assortment of home-cooked, tasty breakfast foods for a decent price. Good things: You get plenty of food for a reasonable price. I had pancakes this last time had much more on my plate than I could handle. They have plenty of pancake "flavors." I visited the Avon location awhile back and my omelet had nice-sized feta chunks in it. Both items were good. Service is pretty quick. Not so good: I ordered strawberry pancakes, I was hoping for strawberries in the pancakes (though looking back, seems more obvious that they would be on top). They were on top, which was fine, but were in that weird strawberry gel I'm not a fan of. Some strawberries in a little sugar with their own juice would have been much better. Our server was fine at first, but after a joking comment from my friend (which I didn't find to be offensive, it was playful, so maybe she perceived it otherwise), she seemed a bit hostile. Atmosphere is fine, typical mom 'n' pop restaurant type interior and feel.

If your not accustomed to fine dining this place is AOK. Not real maple syrup. The wait staff very friendly and service was good.
