A good change of pace for those who have to eat out every day. It was very clean and the food was good. I had the beef brisket, moist and a hint of smoke, chicken, was dry but good smoke flavor, with baked potato casserole, mac and cheese as sides. The potato casserole was dry and very little flavor I added some hot and spicy BBQ sauce, the Mac and cheese was ok but not a must have. It was a little pricy at $12.50 and I didn't have to pay $2.25 for my drink so add that in and ur $14.75 for a dinner. I will come back and try different items and don't forget to get your free ice cream cone and on Sunday's kids eat free.

Tasty bbq for a casual dinner with the family. There were 4 of us, and we ordered the family pack (serves 4-6) just to make sure we had enough. We ended up with leftovers, next time we will try the picnic pack (serves 3-4). The pulled pork and brisket were moist and delicious, the sides were just ok. We had cole slaw, green beans, Mac and cheese, and waffle fries. The waffle fries were the best of our sides, but the kids liked the mac and cheese. I'd pass on it for myself, but I'll go back in and find something else. Overall, it's not cheap, but it made for a good relaxed night out. You also don't tip, so factor that in. We spent about $45-50 on dinner for 4 with leftovers to cover an extra meal for 2 of us. Service was fast and friendly, and it's a great place for kids, a little loud with nothing they can mess up. Don't forget the free ice cream cones afterward!

Average BBQ with plenty of sides to choose from. Menu board is above the counter where you place your order. I'd suggest checking out their web menu first so you're prepped before you get in line. Grabbed the 2 meat platter (pulled pork, spicy sausage) with 2 sides. The pulled pork was moist with a hint of smoke. The sausage had a mild heat and was too dry. I hit the baked potato casserole and fried okra for my sides. The casserole was a small side dish of mashed potato with bacon, cheese and green onion. Not bad, not wow either. The okra was crispy and I could taste the vegetable. Overall a passable effort at BBQ.

Good BBQ place and excellent service. Pulled pork and chopped brisket are delicious. All three sauces are good (original, sweet, spicy) and compliment the meat. Didn't care for the BBQ beans. Best sides are fried okra, onion tanglers (both large portions,) baked potato casserole, and coleslaw. Rolls are hit or miss. The staff is great! They work hard and take care of you! They slice meat to order so the line can get long. The cashier came out to the dining room several times to check on guests and was truly interested in how they enjoyed their meal. Kids eat free on Sunday's, but we still spent $30ish on our meal (2-meat plate, a 3-meat plate, and two large drinks,) so it's not cheap, but it is quality food and excellent service. Previous reviewer says portions are small. IMO, that comment goes to show how outrageous portion sizes have gotten. Definitely a good choice in Plainfield.

Finally Close To Indy!! Their brisket is the best. This restaurant looks great! tucked behind other businesses, but is worth the drive.

Yuck Yuck Yuck. I paid 14.99 for dry ribs and nasty potato salad. I knew I should have canceled my order, when the girl took my ribs out of plastic wrap. She then pieced two ribs together to make my order. I will never visit this place again.

Some good BBQ in Plainfield. Yay! Dickey's is kind of set back from 40 and is easy to miss. It's located in the former Walmart parking strip that has been recently renovated. Inside, this place is pretty great. Obviously, since it's brand-spankin'-new, everything is very clean and nice looking. I was lucky enough to go with a friend so I was able to sample a few different items. The brisket is pretty amazing. I like that they don't over season or spice any of their meats and let you decide how you want to fix them with a variety of BBQ sauces. They sides were pretty standard (Mac n' cheese, beans, coleslaw, etc.). Can we just talk about the sweet tea for a second? Dynamite. All of their drink cups are reusable too, so yay for being green! All in all, this is a new, great addition do Plainfield. Will definitely return!

The food is pretty good, but if you are in a hurry do not plan on stopping here. I always get the pulled pork and use the spicy sauce, the coleslaw is very good and the beams are okay but not outstanding

I had a Groupon. We did the large family value pack that includes 2 meats and 3 sides. We got the smoked sausage and beef brisket. The sides we chose were the BBQ beans, the baked potato casserole and Mac n cheese. Meals all come with rolls and BBQ sauce. We had original and spicy. We got carry out but the place was clean and the staff were exceptionally friendly. Everything was in the bag (ie sauce, napkins, plasticware etc) and the order was correct. 3 stars for fatty brisket, and just a rather boring food experience. This is a good alternative to your standard fast food restaurants but is one all the same. We will have Dickeys every now and then maybe....maybe....super similar to City BBQ.

Delicious barbecue and sides. Try the "Deal of The Week" and a big yellow cup of your favorite Coke products. Kids eat free on Sunday with paid adult dinner. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Don't forget your ice cream cone.

Based on the reviews I read I had high expectations, but they fell short! The food portion was small for the price you pay. You do get free ice cream cone after your meal ( probably because you are still hungry) next time will pay for family size upgrade!

The brisket today was way too dry for my taste but had an excellent smoked flavor (I eat it sauce free). My friend tried it and agreed it was dry and stated it is usually quite moist but her pork looked amazing. But any place can have an off day. The sides were wonderful, the bread hot and fresh, and the way we were warmly greeted by the manager (owner?)and treated means I will definitely give them another try when I visit my friend who lives here. We left with our free ice cream cones with plans to come back.

We went to this place for the first time yesterday 4th of July. I had found a groupon that was supposed to have the value of $20 so we get here and everyone yells hello. Then as soon as we get to the counter they start asking right away what can we get for you. I then said I do not know it is our first time we need a minute to check out the menu. Sounds pretty clear right? Evidently not, the lady stayed on us every few seconds until we just finally ordered something so she would shut up. It was not like they were busy, they had one table with 4 people eating and then us who were the only ones in line. So then we asked about the Chicken and the Turkey, to which she first said they were out, and we were about to leave and the cashier said both would be coming out of the oven in couple minutes. So we thought perfect we would get some hot fresh food. The annoying lady who was serving the food then pulled out a small end piece of turkey which had definitely seen its better day and decided she would serve that to me even though i told her i wanted to wait for the ones coming out of the smoker. I ordered the two meat and my other party ordered the one meat. I got mashed potatoes for a side then potato salad. The mashed was really good. and the potato salad had so much celery in it i could not eat it. I wish celery would be abolished from the earth, it is disgusting and everybody wants to load food down with it. I promise if you leave it out nobody will say, you know whats missing from this food, a good chunk of celery. So of course I did not eat it. The lady went on and on about the sweet tea being the best in town. She obviously doesn't get out much. I am from the south and that was some pretty bad tea. The meats we got were so full of smoke flavor i could not eat it. Some people like that but i do not. it is one thing to give something a smoke flavor but it is another for it to take over the food to where all you taste is smoke flavor. Even with a groupon for $20 it still cost us another $8 to eat here. Definitely not worth 28 bucks. now i am pretty sure why they have groupons. Hands down City BBQ is much better than this place.

Plainfield's answer to City Barbeque. Had the sliced beef brisket, baby back ribs, mac 'n cheese, barbeque baked beans, and coleslaw. The beef brisket was good, but not City Barbeque good. The ribs were good, but not City Barbeque good. Sense a theme here? If you find yourself in Plainfield and don't want to drive east on Rockville Road, Dickeys is a reasonable facsimile to City Barbeque. I will add that their spicy bbq sauce is outstanding. Very flavorful and enough heat so as not to overwhelm. Give it a try.

This place is great. While it may me a chain it is defiantly great food. I just had the beef brisket and it was very good. Moist and tender straight out of the cooker. I've also had the ribs and they are the best in the area, chain or not! I highly recommend this place!

Wonderful barbeque, my family's favorite is the pulled pork. It has enough flavor you can eat it plain or they have three different sauces you can eat it with. Plenty of sides to choose from as well as meat choices. Prices are responsible and service was wonderful. Highly recommend!

My wife and I went to this for the first and last time. alrhough the food was ok the brisket was dry and cold the ham ws good the bbq sauce was thin and if you want more sauce you have to go back to the self service to get it. when I go out and spend more than $30 for dinner I feel that the food should be at least hot and brought to the table, we came in and my wife sat down because she can"t stand a long time. I went ro the counter and asked if they had menus the guy went to get one in the back and came back and said they were out. after placing my order and getting my order I made 5 trips to the seat with order drinks table wear ect ect. the only thing they have on the table was napkinds, neless to say I will not be back will not be suprised if they can stay in business.PS the baked potato casserol was mashed pots with cheese and green onions added on top also cold. Great BBQ. The beef and pork were flavorful and moist. Would have been 5 stars but the food wasn't hot, just Luke warm. The onion side was great.

Have been twice and the BBQ (pulled pork 1st time & brisket 2nd time ) has been very good. The portions are very generous and served quick. Have enjoyed all the sides too. The lunch specials are nice. Service is FANTASTIC! Oh... FREE ice cream.

My experience at Dickey's was mediocre at best. My party of three each ordered our meals at one end of the counter. Two of us ordered side items that weren't immediately ready (waffle fries and fried okra). The rest of the orders were added to the trays and slid down to the other end of the counter, where the cashier entered them into the computer. Empty paper bowls were marked with the missing side items. Drinks, silverware (nice plastic ware), and condiments including BBQ sauce were self-serve, and we carried our trays to a table. I had a 3 Meat plate and chose pulled pork, brisket, and spicy cheddar sausage. All three meats were barely above room temperature. The brisket had good smoky flavor but was very dry. I am used to smoked brisket slices that you can cut with a fork, but this was actually chewy. The pork had good flavor and did not need sauce, but again, it was cold. The cheese in the sausage wasn't even melted. My sides were "baked potato casserole," which is actually mashed potatoes topped with cheese and green onions, and jalapeno baked beans, which were the best thing I tried. After tasting all of my meats and sides, (this was about 10 minutes) I realized that my kids' fried sides had still not been brought out. I walked back to the counter to ask about them, and the staff seemed very confused. 5 minutes later, fresh hot sides finally came. Free vanilla soft serve is a nice touch at the end. All in all, you can get much better barbecue and service at City Barbecue or Squealers. I'm in no rush to go back.

This is a follow up for our first visit. Since it was their first week the first time we tried it and were a tad disappointed we went back. They've got their act together. The line moved reasonably quickly, they had everything we asked for and I got the roll, which by the way rocked, it was sort of like a soft, chewy chiabatta roll. All the sides we tried were excellent and the special, a sausage with cheese was zippy hot and delicious. We will definitely be back.
