This place was great, I know some say "then why not 5 stars?" Honestly I feel like five stars is going above and beyond. This location is always busy and infrequent here a lot. No matter how busy they are. They seem to always get the food out n a great time and I've yet to ever have my food messed up or need to send it back for some reason. The staff is also always a pleasure to deal with.

Good food and good service. I would recommend their children's platters come on plastic plates and bowls asmy little guy accidentally dropped his bowl on the ground and broke it.

Good as usual. Always consistent. We were part of a big rush at that moment, but all worked will. Men's BR was a bit fresh, but they got on it right away.

Breaks my heart to give Cracker Barrel a bad review but it happens. Went for dinner tonight Saturday June 14th. Seated right away, and got our drink order taken right away. Our server had only been with the company 2 weeks and we were her first table of the night. So we got more service than we actually needed but extra service is better than no service I guess. I have always said that Cracker Barrel's Ribeye would stand up to any fancy steakhouses one. Well not tonight. I have eaten this ribeye for years and it has always had such an awesome flavor that it needed no sauce on it because it tasted great without it. Well I can tell you now that not only has the price of this Ribeye gone up to $15 the flavor and taste has gone out the door. I guess Cracker Barrel thought the customers would not notice the change. It was an ok ribeye but certainly not the one that I have raved about for almost 20 years. I actually had to break out the 57 sauce. I asked for well done and it came out about medium so i sent it back and they cooked it a little longer but it just wasnt anything impressive. The sweet tea was great and never had to wait for a refill. Of course our server only had us and one other table of 2. The 3 sides that I got were all good, dumplin, fried okra and sweet potato. I dont know what they have done but they definitely need to go back to the old way because that was the best steak I have ever eaten and thats a lot for me. The old ribeye would hold up to any fine dining steak that i have eaten. Sad day for me today, never thought the day would come when i would write a negative review of Cracker Barrel. Server offered to go drinks, Those were the smallest cups i have seen, just as well not offer them, i have finished mine before i even got to the car.

It's hard to dislike Cracker Barrel. It's the only place where my husband and I can go and literally fill our entire table with plates of food and leave with a bill under $20. In my experience, there's really not much variety from different locations. I can say, though, that I've never experienced poor service at the Plainfield location and the food is always up to par. Plus, it's conveniently located right of the 70 ramp! Mmm, hashbrown casserole.

The only thing that saves this place from a 1 star rating is the fact that they have a cute store with some unique things that you can buy...and I have childhood memories that I would like to keep positive. I was actually looking forward to trying a Cracker Barrel again - I had not been to one in years. Now I know why. They have a pretty big menu - home cookin' southern style food that is inexpensive. I was really looking forward to some chicken and dumplings with corn bread and mac and cheese! Everything had no flavor - totally bland and just slopped together. Even the bread wasn't good. Our waitress was just lazy. We had a huge group and had to scream our orders down the table. You can't come around? Drinks weren't refilled, there were plates everywhere, it was a mess. So poor service + poor food = Danielle not coming back.

Typical Cracker Barrel goodness. I realized while I was there that CB really is a great value. Your food- no matter what you order- is stacked up high, good quality, and doesn't break the bank. And oooh that hash brown casserole!

It's Cracker Barrel. Every one is the same. I always get what I expect and the service is generally prompt and quality. It's nothing super special but it has charm. I go every few months for dinner. I like it because its comfy and you know what to expect.

I had to stop at this Cracker Barrel on a recent cross-country road trip home because I had spilled something on my blouse. Luckily, I remembered Cracker Barrel sold shorts. I went in and found a t-shirt on sale for $5. It fit me perfectly! Before I left, I smelled the food and decided to sit down and eat. Glad I did so because the food was so good.. The pancakes were yummy and my friend loved her biscuits and gravy.

Was pleasantly surprised with the new side options now available: fresh fruit, cucumber & tomato salad; rice pilaf and apple slices. This is great for someone who wants a healthy side! Waitress was friendly and kept our drinks filled.
