08/27/2015 still the most horrible location ever!!!!! This is absolutely the worst chipotle location to ever go to. It's horrible. I won't complain about the food because it's good compared to other fast food options. However the staff is just horrible. I go in at least 3 times a week, and every time I go it has to be a fight between me and whoever is serving. The guacamole is less than the standard portion size at this location. They are also not good with meat either. However they will fill ur whole bowl up with rice without a problem. I'm done coming to this one. The only reason they stay busy is because it's the only one in the area. You're better off going to any other place then having to deal with that staff!

I am a Chipotle fanatic. But this location is pretty sad. Most recently we ordered 4 burritos and a kids meal to go. The fruit that came with the kids meal had mold. One of the burritos had a very long hair in it. And the carnitas was shockingly bland (I typically order and enjoy this at other locations). We just moved to NWI, so I was excited to see there was a Chipotle here. Unfortunately though, I was so disappointed with the experience at this location it will have to remain a treat I'll only get to enjoy when I am out of town.

Yes, the steak is chewy most of the time. Everything else is usually awesome though! They forgot my guacamole one time & the manager gave me a coupon for a free meal for the inconvenience. The prices are reasonable.

Went when it opened. The line was so long, they were running out of stuff at 7pm. The food tasted crappy, and did not stay warm enough for the trip home.

Literally worst Chipotle I've been to. Recently got a bowl with Sofritas, which MIND YOU is their vegan option and there was meat in it. Which made me have to throw my food out that I waited over 30 minutes for in a line (because of the slow service). If you're around the area, I recommend you go to the Schererville one instead.

I am still trying to figure out how you allow someone to order a veggie bowl, prep with rice and beans and then say you have no veggies!!! Staff was rude, no apologies... Just we don't have any TODAY...not that they are being prepared but today. Just so disappointing. I will always drive right past this location 5 minutes from my house for a more professional location.

After seeing my coworkers eating what smelled so good (burrito bowl) I decided to go give it a try. There was an extremely long line and we weren't moving for at least 10 mins...I thought about leaving but my drive there with traffic is about 20 mins. I finally got up to place my order and was very happy with the pleasant attitudes of the staff...hate the wait but customer service that day made up for it.

Food is great. Staff are all great. Given they do run out of stuff often. You ask them to tweak your order and they have no problem with it. There are some employees who don't listen when you tell them specific instructions. But they are in a automatic mode cause there is always a line. But stop them and get them out of that robot mode and you are in for a treat.

I love the bowls, they're delicious and they always have fresh ingredients. Good prices too.

I love Chipotle just not the Munster one. I went today knowing I will have to wait...imagine my shock when there was no line...as I walked to the counter 2 people walked in behind me. We all had smiles! Anyway, the girl taking orders said I will be right with you and pulls out a very long phone order. After she made the 5th burrito, she set up several tacos..., now the line is out the door. All I wanted was a chicken bowl. The counter girl had a smirk..,I tried hiding my frustration..,the other workers were also obsessed with this order..,not helping at all. Finally I get my bowl after repeating my meat, rice and bean choices several times...I then ordered a side of guacamole and chips. When I get to the register, that worker is also obsessed with the large order by ignoring me, taking MY chips and guacamole and rechecking the to go order. Then I asked for my Guac and chips and the counter girls argued with me that I either wanted a second one or why my first was taken...horrible. Go to Schererville, better trained, know how to manage both phone orders and the customers standing in front of you!!!!

The service was fine but I'd steer clear of the steak as it was very chewy. Great value and tremendous flavor. The night we were there they must gave had 8 people behind the counter. I had the tofu burrito and it was fantastic!

Chipoltle...I want to eat here. Often. I love chipoltle...especially since I heard they were going all non gmo. And now they're close to home! Exciting, right? Only if you can find parking, which is never. I've seriously driven through here probably once a week for the past two months and can NEVER find anywhere to park. You might be able to find a spot down in the panera lot but I never did because I haven't been willing to haul an infant in an infant carrier down the block in single digit temps and/or the snow/sleet/rain, for a burrito. I know this isn't chipoltles fault, super poor planning on the whole development...but still, annoying enough to leave a bad review. Maybe I'll eventually get to go in and try it when the weather warms up and I don't mind a trek outdoors in milder temps.

The food here is good, as tasty as any other location.... BUT. The staff here can't get it together. It's been a couple of years at least, and they consistently run out of food, and the entire line of customers waits for them to cook chicken, chop lettuce, shred cheese, etc. They stand there and yell, "If you don't want lettuce, come to the front of the line!" It's ridiculous just how inefficient they are. I could understand --maybe-- if this was ten minutes before closing, but at 6:00 on a Friday night? They didn't expect a large crowd? We still go often because it's close and convenient, and really tasty, but it's always a hassle.

Now, my girlfriend and I are Chipotle enthusiasts. We have no problems shoving this great "ethnic" goodness down our throat-holes. However, for the first time in our lives, we have been flabbergasted and disgusted by the service at a Chipotle. I, being a student at PUC, was ecstatic at the prospect of this great not so Mexican establishment so close to my residence. However, the incredibly horrible service we got numerous times at this location, is unforgivable and unacceptable for the usual standard of most Chipotle restaurants. Every time I order, (online, to avoid the lines) the staff screws up my name, then makes really crappy jokes to make up for it. I doubt that makes for good customer service. (idiots) They then proceed to screw up our order or claim that they have run out of some sort of essential side. ( I mean, HOW DO YOU RUN OUT OF CORN SALSA?! IT'S THE ESSENTIAL BACKBONE OF CHIPOTLE!!!!) Oh! this is after they make us wait for our meal.... 10 minutes AFTER the pickup time!!!! This is the 21st century in a Western Developed nation. Not cool. I can chalk it all up to growing pains, but lets be honest, that's ridiculous as Chipotle is a nationwide chain of awesomeness and there should be no reason as to why an experienced manager can't train the vast amounts of vapid bimbos at this location. Get it together, Team Munster because until you do, I'll be throwing my piles of cash at the Merrillville location. SIncerely, Ike P/S- I mean, seriously, I'm sure they had some corn salsa in the fridge somewhere. Lying scumba.... okay I'm done.

I'm a long-standing fan of Chipotle. Loooong-standing. And, in being a fan, I was almost embarrassingly excited to discover that my little town of Munster was getting their own Chipotle. Our. own Chipotle! Within walking distance of my house. This, my friends, is the stuff from which pregnant lady dreams are made. Well, pregnant ladies and the entire freaking town of Munster... If you actually breech the door of this Chipotle you should consider yourself lucky. Several times I have driven by the store only to see lines spilling out from each door. Now, I loves me some veggie burrito goodness but I'm not standing out in the cold for one. Once inside, the Chipotle boasts the pretty standard Chipotle decor. The employees are friendly and completely overwhelmed with the sheer volume of patrons this store receives. Waiting for rice, veggies, or other burrito fixins is a guarantee. The odds that your burrito will be cold by the time you receive it are fairly high. Don't get me wrong, I am almost positive that these little problems are due to growing pains. Customer service at this location has always been proactive in apologizing and offering up future coupons when things go awry. As it stands, however, this Chipotle ranks a rock solid "meh".

Brand New, love the Aztec artwork! Service is top notch, even offering to remove trays from tables. Cool, low profile seating! Also offers a kid's menu at this location as new suburban locations do. Love it! Go try this place!

So I read the reviews and I thought to myself ... "Ok, I'll drive by and if the line is not out the door then I'll go check it out". So, as you can imagine because you are reading this review ... there was no line. I walked inside and there were two and a half (a child who also ordered - they have a kids menu - kinda cool) people if front of me and boy oh boy ... maybe there should have been a line because I was starting to grow a shell and turn green BUT finally I got the opportunity to order.. I ordered and boy oh boy ... I was really starting to turn into a turtle and by the time I actually checked out, I was fully a turtle. Anyway, so about 10 minutes later once the three employees were able to help all three and a half of us out that were in line....I ate got my food and ate it.The food was great as always. I will not take away from the friendly but slow service becuase they were smiling and saying thank you and have a good day and that was nice. The location is great and the inside of the place looks great. I'm certain these are growing pains and I will be back. Enjoy.

Terrible restaurant. The lines are out the door and it's ridiculous. I myself, like another reviewer on this site, have waited in long lines just because they ran out of lettuce. How does that happen? You just go back and chop another head of lettuce, or empty it (since I'm sure it comes to the store preshredded) in a bowl! I finally decided to try this place one more time. Munster's hours both online AND on their door says 11AM. I arrived around 11:05 and the doors were still locked. Ok, no biggie, so I went to the windows and saw the workers just finishing up their meal. I made eye contact with one of the girls and pointed at the door to let me in. She stood there, stared at me for five seconds, then turned around and went back into the kitchen! I was baffled. I walked really slow back to my car to see if maybe she had gone to get someone to open, then someone might yell back at me to come inside. Nope. I waked to my car for another 15 minutes before driving away and still Chipotle didn't open It's doors. It was 11:25, almost half an hour after their supposed business hours. This place is a joke and they lost my money and a customer. Not only will I never go back, I will mention this to anyone and their brother when they say they like Chipotle. Qdoba in my opinion is much better, and hey at least they don't run out of lettuce...

When I heard they were opening a Chipotle three minutes from my house, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I am so disappointed to say that I've been to many a Chipotle and the Munster location is by far the worst. Our first experience there was less than stellar- it took more than 45 min. to make it through the line. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, we've gone back several times and always encounter the same problem. Ridiculous wait times, unorganized staff, standard items (like lettuce and chicken) that they've suddenly run out of. Skimpy portions compared to other locations, and is it just me or is the meat here about twice as spicy as normal??? After several attempts, we've decided to just give up. I love Mexican food, but the service here is just maddening. We'll be taking our business elsewhere.

This is my first review ever on yelp after being a member for years. I was compelled to write this review after a number of unsatisfactory experiences. I absolutely love Chipotle so when I discovered there would be one within mikes of my home, I was ecstatic!! The excitement ends there. EVERY time I've gone there is a line to the door. Every time I've gone there has been a wait for one of the items on the line. One of the last times I went, I waited over 30 minutes for lettuce for my salad while the manger apprentice was making bags of chips, which they already had dozens of!! Granted, i was not charged for the salad but the way the issue was handled was unacceptable. The young lady on the line felt terrible because she went back to the prep area at least 4 times to find out when the lettuce was coming. Finally I gave up & decided that I would just order online for pickup since when I'm in the store, it appears that these orders take priority. Well, that was a mess too! I arrived after the designated pickup time, the salad was ready without the dressing and without the two orders of chips & guac. I really hope these are growing pains!! If it improves, I will rate again.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
