While the food is not all that tasty, I do want to say on a recent dinner out with my wife, our server, Andre, was very good. He was available to bring us drinks when we were ready and had our dirty plates removed very quickly. On top of this, he was very pleasant and friendly and treated us like he would like to serve us all the time. Andre, I hope your supervisors see this and let you know that you made a dinning experience for this couple a very enjoyable one. Thank you.

The server was the only reason this got one star and not zero. All the food tasted horrible, in fact an hour after we ate it my wife and i were both throwing up at the same time. I will never go there again and i dont advice anyone to go there for your own safety.

The breakfast here is great! I tried it for the first time today and loved it!! Pancakes, hash brown, corned beef hash, etc. the lunch here is ok too. But dinner to me is just not worth the money. This buffet is pretty pricey compared to other buffets. I know they have steak and ribs and fresh meats but I could get seafood at a Chinese buffet for cheaper. The weekends can get pretty crazy at times especially Saturday's! Try to avoid the rush hours otherwise you will be waiting to get your steak or some other popular item!

Went to the Golden Corral for my veterans meal after seeing it i paper, when my wife and I got there we were told it Was retracted in the paper and it would be the 17th ,I watched vets on oxygen trying to get out of their car and vets with canes hobble towards the door only to be told to come back next Monday , what a joke .i will not go there again!!!)

It's a buffet, and I am not a fan of buffers. you wait to long inline to check out. Somewhat dirty throughout the restaurant. Not enough salad or healthy options.

I haven't bothered to review "The Corral" because, well, it's no secret that it is a low-budget pig-fest for the lower strata of the food chain. Neither do I frequent "The Corral" for this and other reasons. But, today I was in a hurry to catch a movie nearby and I thought "The Corral" would be quick, easy and cheap. Here's what happened. First, I drive in to the parking lot and there are 5 or 6 ghetto rats standing right in the driving area wearing their best Goodwill hand-me-downs like they just had a wedding reception (or some other high-level ghetto function) at "The Corral". As I try to ease past the rats that won't move, one of the she-rats begins yelling and cursing at me as if I AM THE ONE WHO'S WRONG for disrupting their socializing in the middle of the driveway! I walk in, pay my $11.96 (lunch price) and start looking for a table. Out of 5 empty tables in near sight, 5 were dirty. An employee finally cleaned one off and I headed towards the food bar. At lunch time there is very little in the way of "meat" items on the buffet, mainly just lots of cheap, gut-filling carbohydrates that keep food costs down as low as possible- and of the items THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO BE AVAILABLE, the BBQ Chicken pan was empty, the Fried Chicken pan was empty, the Fried Fish pan was empty, the Mini Hamburgers pan was empty, etc. I came in here today because I though it would be fast! I said something to a Manager who was standing nearby and he just droned-on with ready-made excuses (as if he's heard this all before), "We are very busy right now- We can't keep up- I can't limit people as to how much food they can take- We're working on it...Blah, Blah, Blah..." I simply said "You should know you're going to busy on a Saturday afternoon and It's your JOB to provide YOUR CUSTOMERS with the food they have paid for!" The cheap eats like French Fries, Baked Potato's and Macaroni and Cheese were all filled- but the pricier food-stuffs, meat, chicken, fish, were all absent. As I have pointed-out in a previous review of "The Corral", lets look at the name of this place and take a peek inside the mind-set of the corporation that runs this operation. "Golden" - self explanatory, these restaurants are gold mines for the corporations that run them because of the way people are herded-in and the cash register never stops ringing. "Corral" - keep the register ringing and cram as many people as possible, like cattle in a corral, regardless of managements ability to provide the advertised food items or a quality dining experience. HERD 'EM IN AND RING 'EM UP!!! Today was mostly my own fault for expecting anything better @ "The Corral"- but, I guess, hope springs eternal.

I love Golden Corral!!!! Unlike old country buffet they have steaks and way, way, more options. They have a great quality of food for the buffet scene. This is what an affordable buffet should be.

This was a lot better experience than my first two visits. I still can't believe they don't have spring greens. Pam the manager told me it was expensive and they are trying to keep the cost down for everyone. Well so isn't sweet potatoes, spinach, the meats and most of everything else in this restaurant. Everything I mentioned is expensive as well. I would be hard pressed working for this company when Pam stands over you yelling and screaming at you. That's probably why this location has a very high turn over rate. Lunch is very expensive at $9.19 after taxes and that doesn't include a tip. Michael aka Mikey the waiter made my meal. If you ever visit this place ask to sit in his area and you will get excellent service. Update: I'm told Michael aka Mikey doesn't work there any more. What a shame. I wish they offered sugar free/fat free soft serve ice cream. They seem to cater to a lot of fried/fattening foods. I wish more broiled or baked foods were offered. The food taste wasn't to bad other than the string beans and corn being over cooked and water logged. This is not my favorite buffet place. I still prefer Old Country Buffet better. Several places I went to get food were out of what I wanted or there were no plates. There was a long wait waiting for the food to be replaced. I give the Restaurant 1 star and Mikey makes the experience more pleasurable other wise I would give zero stars.

Weekdays 1 to 4pm, excellent service from Ricky. Not busy, and still a great selection.

We arrived less than 15 minutes after opening and the food was cold and not fresh at all. I told the waitress and she did nothing. In fact the waitress did just about nothing the entire visit. What a disappointment and a waste of money.

Would give less if I could $13.00 per adult. Food is bland and tasteless. No service, had to wait for 1/2 hour for my kids to get drink refills. Save your money!

Well to start we haven't eaten here. However getting a table is crazy. Line is always out the door and once you get in you're greeted with a Disney style que line. If you or your party has trouble standing for long periods of time don't bother. Expect to be surrounded by kids screaming with no parental guidance and rude adults who bump into you constantly and try to shove past you. If you have an older person with you that has the old time mindset, you might want to pass as well because of the UN convention then awaits you inside. Also keep in mind this giant line was there even though their we're PLENTY of four and eight top tables available.

I was so glad to discover this place in South Bend. I dunno about anyone else, but I'll be forever a customer of Golden Corral. They closed in California, so imagine how thrilled I was to know they had one opened here! There've been many other restaurants that I've tried since moving from California, and they haven't been up to my standards. Especially being vegetarian, the salad bar was very scrumptious and good! Plus they had mexican, asian, american, and many other stuff they offered was better in quality than other buffet places I've been to. The desserts they had was awesome too, I especially liked the pistachio cake and the pumpkin pies and my wife loved the cotton candy. I don't care about what anyone else says, I'll be forever loyal to this place! However limited options for a vegetarian or vegan.

Don't know what it is about buffets, but they are always packed at the Corral. However, the food was horrible. The self serve ice cream was the only thing remotely edible as everything else was under, over, or improperly cooked.

The name implies that this is a high-end livestock pen, which is fitting. Golden Corral offers a full battery of salty meats, starchy breads, trans-fat soaked vegetables, and syrupy desserts. There are a few items on the menu which will not give you diabetes. Good luck with that. Christian music on the loudspeakers is a big plus, the perfect smug complement to an atmosphere of gluttonous ignorance. Access to beverages is restricted once you've entered the facility. Water is highly suggested if you wish to remain conscious within an hour after you've consumed your meal, so make sure to establish some kind of a connection with your "server". People watching here is probably better even than Ryan's steakhouse during their early 90's heyday. The crowd ranges from potbellied contractor-types with beepers in their beltloops, to slackjawed transracial quasi-suburban hoodlums sporting complete ND outfits, to pink and purple haired chicks named Chastity with busted out bellies, to your requisite overweight semi-retarded albino. Enjoy.

I will be honest, I hate these type of restaurants because it seems to bring out every moron in the area. I decided to give it a try since my spouse loves buffets. We tried to go a couple of times but the line was out the door. On our 3rd try we were able to at least make it in the doors to discover a maze to go through before even getting to the register. Then some guy at the front of the line waved to his 8 family members from the back of the line to join him. This of course ticked us all off but he ignored us and so did the staff. After getting seated I made my way to the buffet and found more lines. Standing in line several times for food I paid for doesnt appeal to me but what is worse is the overall atmosphere. Standing in those long lines gives you way too much time to people watch. I have never seen such horrific table manners. People eating off their plates in line, coughing into their hands and then grabbing food, kids sticking their fingers in the chocolate waterfall. ACK. I expected to leave with the flu. I actually found the food to be fairly decent for this type of restaurant but after making our way back to our car, we saw a vehicle with a window bashed out (clearly happened at the restaurant since there was glass all over the ground) and then witnessing a drug deal, ya....we are never going back. I see big problems at this place.
