This may be a smokey dive bar, but the neighborhood is not that scary (I've lived less than 2 blocks away for over two years now) and the food is not all that bad. The waitresses are always really friendly: I'm not sure they get that many Purdue students so I think you'll get extra attention/stares when you first walk in but there's not much wrong with that. Also, it's a bit of a mecca for food options. They have several menus to choose from. There's their own varsity clubhouse menu with dozens of their famous "hand-spanked" burgers to choose from (for really cheap). Then there is the Niko's Spicy Pickle menu and some random Mexican menu that I haven't ordered from. It closes much later than Spicy Pickle, so if you're craving it as I often do then you can just swing by Varsity. Not too bad, eh?

Boy do I have to say I love the Varsity Club House and the food there is phenomenal I love their burgers definitely should try the cowboy burger it is my number one favorite I tried the Doomsday burger oh wow couldn't finish that one but it was definitely delicious

This is a typical dive bar with smoky indoors. The food, and the drinks are reasonable. The friendly bartenders, and jukebox, and the feel of relaxed neighborhood bar make me rate this place four stars.

I'm from out of town and stopped in to play golden tee. I really was enjoying myself until the local pantera groupies came in and took over the juke box. After a hour of heavy metal I couldn't wait to leave. I would of easily dropped a couple of Hundo in there. Especially with the group I was with. We all agreed it was time to exist. Just to damn loud to spend anymore money and no one who worked there thought to turn it down a little. Great little dive bar but draws the Lafayette Pantera groupies. Spend money else where.
