We started going to Bob Evans because we needed an awesome breakfast after a typical long night out while attending Purdue. We went for the food but what we found was so much more. This was when we first met Roger. A friendly server who takes so much pride in his job it literally puts a smile on our faces. Roger keeps our glasses full and our wait time short. Even though some of our original group has already graduated and moved away, whenever were back in town we always go visit our friend Roger at Bob Evans.

If I could give negative stars, I could. We were immediately seated, but we were never served. We sat there for 30-40 minutes and nobody checked on us once. We never got drinks even, not even an apology for taking so long to get themselves together. We walked out and nobody said a word. Worst service I've ever seen, and I have a lot of patience for this sort of business since I work in it too. Will not come back. Would not recommend -1000000/10

Gross. My silverware was dirty and had food residue on, so I had to ask my server to get a new one, which was dirty as well. The service is not that great, and servers look all stressed out and tired. I ordered Sunshine Skillet and it was filled with at least 3 tablespoons of grease. The egg was soaked with grease as well it was inedible. They don't pour out the grease when they cook meat? Our coffee had ground coffee beans inside. Yuck. Never coming here again.

I took my kids here by their choice for breakfast a few weeks back. The place was reasonably busy, but not packed. We had a young waiter, I think named Taylor, if memory serves. We seated in a short time and orders taken. Food arrived after a bit of a wait, but our drinks were empty and never refilled, my son waited an additional 15 minutes for his syrup for his pancakes, which were cold by then, as our waiter couldn't pry himself away from the pretty girls a couple booths over. The only reason he came back to do anything other than grab the check is because I snagged him as he tried to whisk by, so we could get syrup. I'd have been better off serving us myself. I don't expect 4 star service by any means, but basic competency is expected. I won't be returning, I'll go to Cracker Barrel after this experience.

Stopped in here after a few hours on the road. The food was.... off. Like corporate food that comes in on the truck, gets thawed and half prepped in the back, and then finished off in the microwave when you order it. That kind of food. Kind of a long wait too. There were almost as many people working there as there were eating, but it was still slow. To be fair, it did turn out to be some kind of shift change on a Sunday, but watching all those people mill around for twenty minutes socializing behind the counter while you're waiting to eat....eh. Not cool.

I'd take Bob Evans over Denny's or IHOP any day of the week. Their breakfast is amazing, and I wish they'd move out to the west coast too. I'll be craving their biscuits when I relocate. The service is always good here, and the food is always tasty. A caveat to the review is that I always go for breakfast, because I really can't fathom ordering anything BUT breakfast from Bob Evans. The coffee is generally tasty, the service attentive, and the biscuits... Oh, the biscuits. They're good enough that I've mentioned them twice already in this short review. Bob Evans isn't fancy dining, but if you're looking for a good homestyle breakfast, this is the place to go.

This was my favorite Friday dinner spot while I was at Purdue. While everyone else in town seems to flock to the 1.5 hour waits for overpriced, mediocre chain food at Outback, I prefer no lines and cheap, hearty comfort food at Bob Evans. (It is pretty popular with the over 65 church crowd, though, so don't show up for Sunday lunch and expect to be seated immediately) Now, don't get me wrong, this food isn't going to blow you away, but it's pretty good for what it is. My favorite: turkey & dressing. And I'll alternate between sides of corn, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, or baked potato soup. And they have yummy banana bread to go with that. Come on, you can't tell me that the thought of eating that doesn't make you feel good inside! When I'm feeling a little less carb-y, I go for the Wildfire BBQ chicken salad. And I'm always way too full for dessert.

This place was in walking distance from the BP we broke down at, and I would prefer anything over Dennys...so it seemed like the way to go! Our service was very sweet, and way too fast. I had a bottomless coffee, and the other half had a bottomless hot chocolate, and as soon as we were half way through with our drinks, there was a fresh one waiting for us. When you are soaking wet from pushing a car in the rain, these kinds a niceties are much appreciated. Food was ok, wish I would have gotten the breakfast food because it looked so good. The mashed potatoes were excellent. We did drown our sorrows in a brownie sundae too... it totally made me feel better!

A co-worker suggested we have dinner here, apparently she "loved it" and use to have their catfish and deep dish, apple pies... but none of that was on the menu, this visit. Bob Evans is a diner.. like Denny's, Lion's or any typical truck stop without the truckers. Our server was VERY sweet, Brandon. But unfortunately, the food did not make up for it. My breakfast sandwich looked like it was something cooked in the microwave and my friend's "chicken noodles" looked very mushy (retirement home food).
