We ate lunch here today. We go there about twice a year. The food was cold, the chicken was tough and the service horrible. That's it for us. I told the girl when I paid and she just said, oh I'll check it.

Avoid at all costs!!! There are few times that I ever write a review, but this place was horrible. The service was poor, food poor quality even for Chinese food and over priced. I came into town to attend a wedding and this is where the group wanted to eat. Mistake. We had 50 people in the party, different families, different bills and they wanted to charge us by table. They had a lot of difficulty charging us separately. This place needs to go out of business soon.

For this I'm just going to do a pro-con list to keep it simple: Pros: - Large variety of food - Cheap Cons: - ABYSMAL SERVICE (refer to Katherine Y's review)--this waitress is useless and honestly the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant! She literally did not accept one of the girls in our party's tip...umm okay. - Kind of dirty - Unappealing atmosphere and the crowd is a typical buffet crowd which is kind of ehh If you want cheap food and are super hungry come here. Otherwise spend your money elsewhere!

Pros - there was a lot of food (I almost eat myself into a coma) - great variety (esp. sushi) Cons - could taste that some fruits were store bought cans, metallic tasting . - the WORST waiter service!!!! I got so sick after eating too much (my fault), that i wasn't paying attention to the standard tipping amount so I just rounded up. The waiter picked it up and started COMPLAINING, saying "only this much, you might as well make it zero" and had the audacity to scratch off the tip off of MY receipt in front of me. It might of been just a series of unfortunate events but I don't intend on ever coming back. - no free wifi

Made the mistake of returning here after a unmemorable first visit, and will not be returning again. The selection of food is alright: steamed fish, different chicken dishes, a stir-fry station, some American food thrown in, etc, but nothing stands out. And sure there is unlimited sushi, but it is low quality and unappetizing. We got the same waitress both times we were here and she could not understand English at all. She would send us our check 15 minutes in to our meal, and then it took a ridiculous amount of time to get our student ID discount with her reprinting our bills multiple times. (She even crossed out one girl in our party's tip in front of us for some odd reason). Shoddy service aside, the food here is not good enough to make an extra trip down to Lafayette for. Go to Fortune House, right by Tippecanoe Mall if you want better Asian buffet food!

The buffet is good but not great. Some of the dishes are worth trying out. The price is reasonable, so it is a good deal to try out some of the dishes for the price. Do not come here expecting a la carte quality and you will not be disappointed.

There is no way a place with a couple of hundred food items on menu can have specialization in all of those. The buffet is supreme just in size and disappointment levels. All the veggies seem canned stuff and the meats are pretty darn bad. Did like their shrimp fried and scallop, but peppered chicken, peppered beef, beef patties, prime ribs, coconut shrimp were one bite worthy and had an unpleasant after-taste. The hot sour soup and wonton soup were disgusting. Decided to go with Hibachi to have something predictable and filling, and the cook did a good job stir frying stuff. All of this grand stuff for just 10$, so definitely a cheap option around Lafayette. Would much rather go to a Mc. Donald's than this place though!

For a Chinese buffet it's a winner in my book. Not very many places to get sushi let alone any good Chinese food here in lafayette lately. Lunch is cheaper and you get the grill or sushi which is why my boyfriend and I liked it. Cheap dinner with quality food. Only disappointment was the crab Rangoon but I've only found one place that makes it decent. I'd say try it, nice atmosphere and good food.

The food is fair but the waitress definitely sucks! We cannot even find her when we need water and she came only for remind us the tips! That's totally unbelievable! She also complained about the tips. We gave her already 20% of the total as the tips, she was still unsatisfied with us and shot at us to give her more. The worst thing is she pushed us to leave rudely! This is the worst service I got ever. It is really awful experience for us, we will not be there any more.

I went there for lunch. The place is very well decorated and the buffet area is large. There is sushi and a hibachi grill but I didn't try those. I was not impressed with the quality. The Thai chicken was way overcooked and nearly burnt. I should have looked closer before I put it on my plate. The sesame chicken was better but it was also chewy. The dumplings weren't bad, but not really that great either. It was all rather ordinary. The service was very prompt and friendly, and the price is great. But the quality is just not that good. If they can improve the quality of the food this could be a great place.

I was kind of excited to try this buffet, but I figured there still wouldn't be many options for a vegetarian. There were many side dishes and things like that that you would typically find at a buffet but nothing remarkable. A lot of the food I tried seemed somewhat below average buffet quality. It was on the low-end of what I expected. Plus, I presented a coupon for a dollar or two off the lunch buffet and realized after I paid that they had rung up my meal without actually processing the coupon, so I still paid full price. Not a happy ending to a sub-par buffet. This is probably more enjoyable for the non-vegetarian crowd.

Visited the newly opened (less than a week ago) Teppanyaki. They offer a pretty good variety of both Western and Eastern food as well as a grill and sushi. I sampled many items and found them all to be tasty and reasonably fresh. I had them grill me a plate of ingredients and found it quite good (though not as many option as HuHot, of course). Sunday (or after 3:30 other days) comes to just under $25 for two people (I think it's $3 less per for lunch). Not bad if you can find enough stuff you like (we certainly did), and I imagine most carnivores will be fine. Besides the main tables of entrees, there's a table of salad ingredients, one of fruit and desserts, one of pastries (the ones you usually see at Chinese places), and one of ice cream/sherbet (individually packaged servings). Decor is pretty nice for a place like this, and it seemed remarkable quiet although there were a lot of customers. Overall, a pleasurable Sunday afternoon. We'll be back, but may try Saturday next time to get the lunch price.

This is really a decent buffet restaurant . A lot of varieties to choose from...like a LOT! :) ... Nice place to go after church or if you have a big group & you don't want a long wait as compared to being in restaurants for lunch. As for the negative side , #1 wish the servers won't show their customers their displeasure when they get to have the table with a big group! I try to be understanding sometimes..maybe they are tired or maybe they had a bad day.... but oh well...if you can't crack a smile, just try not to frown! :) #2 I wish they can clean up and wipe the high chairs more often, esp. if the food particles are just so visible to the next customer.

For the price, the quality is surprising. They have a variety of options, from sushi to pizza to ham to seafood. The only bad experience I have had was on a Friday for dinner. The place was packed and the quality of the food was bad, but to be expected given the traffic at the time. My suggestion is to go during weekday for lunch, have had no bad experiences and the restaurant is not packed (and the buffet is $8). They also have a 10% discount for students and an additional dollar off if you check in on facebook while present at the restaurant.

We dine at this buffet on our last day visiting Lafayette in the fall. Most Chinese buffets tend to be pretty similar and we judge based on freshness and whether we feel satisfied afterwards. This one was pretty large and had some interesting dishes. I was excited to see a heaping mound of lobster, and I managed to grab some good meaty portions before the horde of hungry buffet-goers ravaged it. I wasn't a fan of the ginger flavored sauce on it, but was still impressed that they had the sea creatures to begin with. My husband visited the hibachi grill twice and said that it was well worth it, making him very satisfied with our trip to Teppanyaki.

enjoyed the food, much better than other local Asian places we've tried. Yes, the american food doesn't look that great, but is more for kids who won't try other things. We went at lunch when it is cheaper and thought was reasonable, huge selection to try new things. Would recommend for sure!

Let me start out by saying I do not like Chinese food. But they have a good selection of other things and I always find plenty of things to eat. My boyfriend never has any complaints about his food.

The big draw for this place is the huge buffet. Price and decor are a , close second. The food was on par with other Asian buffets, in other words the Chinese food was decent, the American not so much. But who goes to a Chinese buffet for American food anyway? It is really just for the kids. The bonus of small Hu Hot style grill to order, hibachi and Sushi bars added to the huge variety and ensure that there is no way you can try a little of everything in one trip. All in all a lot more variety for your buffet dollar than most places. i mean where else in Lafayette can you find all you can eat Sushi for under $10? If the Sushi is not as good as Kokoro or Maje, well what did you expect?

The food is tasty but the place has a slovenly sort of feel: we've been there twice and both times the table service for drinks has been substandard. The second time, my daughter sat down to find her supposedly clean fork caked with food. Plus, the owner's grandkids were running through the restaurant the whole time we were there. To his credit, he did try to keep them quiet, but to no avail. I really think, all things considered, that Fortune House has this one beat, if they both maintain the quality we've experienced.

C+ Average food, I went for prime rib it is in broth, cooked very well done & dry. The beef tenderloin was very tuff & dry. Nothing outstanding.
