We always have a good meal when we go here. The Lafayette location was no different! good food and good service!

The service is good. The food is decent and okay appetizers. Too pricey for the little portioned food. I honestly like " Texas road house" more.

TLDR: good food, fun waitress, nice dessert. Will come again. The variety of food in the menu was surpringly diverse for a steakhouse. There was even Sashimi(raw fish) in the appetizer! The bread that came with it was a bit dalty though. For the main course, I had a delicious meal of lamb chops and potato soup. My brother and Dad had Burgers that were ok, according to them. My mom loved her Fillet Mignon and lobster, and my other brother had a New York steak. The dessert was probably the best part. The milkshake was delicious and fluffy. Not too sweet and topped with a nice wafer. We also ordered a Chocolate Thunder from Down Under. It was a brownie topped by two scoops of ice cream. It sounds heavy, but there was pecan in the brownie that balanced out the flavor making it a surprisingly light affair. I will come again.

I rate it as a 5 being my favorite local chain restaurant. The thing about Outback is you have to be a regular to appreciate it. I always do call ahead seating which has gotten me promptly seated even on the busiest of nights. The $4 menu features a house Merlot and a house Moscato which satisfies both red and white wine drinkers. The Ahi Tuna appetizers are to die for. I have requested Ahi on nights that the restaurant didn't have any in stock and they have located it locally and served it to me within 25 minutes. The Bloomin' Monday's are an extra perk after a successful weekend for Kevin Harvick. My only suggestion is to sway towards the seafood options even though it advertises as a steakhouse. I visit bi-weekly and have to recommend it highly based on consistent flavor, service, and satisfaction.

    1. Food served too slow even if there is literally nobody in the room. 2. I ordered outback special , the steak is extremely over cooked for some reason, I ordered medium rare and it came with well done. 3. No bread and butter served while all other table are served with bread and butter. 4. Sides are fair. I ordered fries and ceasar salad for my meal . The fries are served warm but salad are not fresh as I thought. I will not come here again .

Food was just so so and the service was too slow maybe because of the national holiday. L

Very nice waitress and not-bad food in general. I tried her recommendation of coconut lobster and it was...meh, not my type and I won't have it again. There is a limited number of non-alcohol drink choices too.

We went when it was really busy. They said there'd be a 20-30 minute wait. After 25 minutes, we asked how things looked and they said there were a few minutes left of our promised wait time. At 35 minutes, I went back and the hostess snapped at me before I even opened my mouth. "You're next and they're getting your table ready!" That's all she said with an abrupt and nasty tone. What did I ever do to her? No niceties like "it'll be just a minute, sir" or "thanks for being patient" or even a simple apology. Just total rudeness to a customer as he was entering the establishment. From the hostess no less. Nice first impression of the restaurant. Later in the meal the server brought us dirty plates to eat off of. Steak was tough. Needless to say we won't be back for a while.

Decided to try lunch today. We debated between outback and Fridays. We picked outback of course. For lunch I got the soup and salad, salad was swimming in dressing and the soup was just alright. My lunch date got the salad with the tuna. She said the tuna didn't seen fresh and was a bit rubbery . But worst of all our service was just terrible. We hardly saw the waitress and when we did see her we asked for more bread 15-20 min later she brought it and we told her no thank you. We just want our ticket I don't recommend eating there on your lunch break. Unless you have about a 90 min lunch

I'm consistently impressed when I go to an Outback. I don't go often, but I can always count on getting a solid serving of steak. This Lafayette location is no exception. Started with a blooming onion - got to, right? Came out a little over-done, I feel like this is a dish that should be cooked on the lighter side. It was the end of the week, so I was feeling in the mood for some libations and ordered the 'New Old Fashioned,' made with Maker's and Jack American Honey. It tasted great, but it took the server so long to bring to the table that it was pretty watered down by the time I could enjoy it. For my entree, I went with the Victoria Fillet - a 16 oz. petite fillet cut, cooked medium-rare over the Outback's 'wood-fire', served with a side of steamed broccoli. The steak was fantastic, lots of flavor in the beef, especially with hints of oak from the grill. The broccoli was also very good. And the portion was just right, under 600ish calories. Sometimes the Outback doesn't come to mind first when thinking of going out for steak, but you can count on getting a honest meal for an honest price here.

It's been years since I've been to an Outback. In fact this was my second visit to any Outback anywhere. However, my experience was OK. I went with a party of 8. The service was friendly and prompt. My steak, ordered medium rare, was served rare but I'm usually OK with that. The blooming onions are a bit spicy but still very tasty. I ordered the baked sweet potato and it was mushy. I won't order that again. The others in my party who ordered steaks were pleased with the doneness of the meat. Outback is OK for a steakhouse, but I still do not see anything that is unique or exceptional about their food. Maybe I'll go back - not sure.

Last time we came here the food was just blah. Can get better quality and quantity at any other steakhouse in town. Equally disappointed this time. My kid got steak tips and apples. The steak tips were so spicy/peppery even us adults wouldn't eat them. Granny smith apples were borderline rotten and probably too tart for kids. Husband got a burger that was drowned in liquid smoke. It's saying something when he doesn't clean his plate and he couldn't stomach half of it. $8 kids meal, joke. $12 entrees, joke.

To be honest, the food and service for a Saturday evening dinner were outstanding. However, it seems that parents can't control their obnoxious children and when bringing this up to a manger, he seemed to not really care, likely since he got everyone's money. That's what I don't get about some places. I don't care for spending a lot of money when finally having a chance to go out to have it ruined by loud, out of control children.

Good food, good service, and a calmer environment than you'll find at Texas Roadhouse. If you're looking for a good steak, Outback is a great choice. Take advantage of the call ahead seating and then kill some time in one of the shopping areas nearby. Wait times can be over an hour on the weekends. We like to call ahead and then go to Target for a little while.

I live very close to this Outback location, so I end up here a lot more than I would if I lived elsewhere. Outback doesn't serve my favorite kind of food--I'm not big into steakhouse fare--but I always seem to find something here. My favorite meal is, hands down, the filet focaccia sandwich. It is *delicious.* As an added bonus, I've taken the sandwich home and re-heated it for lunch the next day--and it was still just as delicious. Most leftovers don't make that transition quite as well. I went here for dinner last night with my friend and overall, it was a good meal. Our server was attentive, the food was tasty, and I had a delicious frozen raspberry margarita. I also like their Wallaby Darned, which is basically a peach bellini, but I was feeling the margarita. The only awkward thing about our meal last night was that it was the hostess's first night (which she told me) and she ended up sitting us right back near the kitchen--even though the restaurant was pretty open. I don't mind sitting somewhere like that if the restaurant is really crowded, but I prefer not to if I have options. Overall, as long as you're smart with your order (e.g., don't go ordering lobster and steak every time), Outback is pretty affordable and tasty. A bonus I forgot to mention: their crabcakes are divine, and though they're only on the menu in combination with a steak meal, you can add them to your meal for a price.

Took my dad here for an early father's day dinner, since I wasn't actually going to be in town for Father's Day. We got seated immediately and the server came right over and took our drink orders. We all ordered various versions of steaks (except for the boy, who got a burger), and all ordered them well done. Everything came out perfect and delicious, and even my son ate every scrap of his food. I have no complaints here, service was excellent, food was great, and we were in and out in under an hour.

I am not a big steak person and my boyfriend is so Outback is always the place for us because the steak is amazing but they also have fabulous other choices. The bread they bring out right away is AMAZING and most times we go I have to get the blooming onion even if I end up eating all of it and not being hungry by the time my food gets there. As ridiculous as it sounds a lot of times I just get the mac and cheese because it is that good but I also love their grilled chicken served over rice.

Beth was our server this night, hands down best server in Lafayette. Food is always great and consistent. Manager overhead me saying it was my birthday and brought me over a birthday card with a card for a free bloomin onion. Class act. I'm not a huge chain restaurant fan but if I had to choose Outback would be my first choice everytime. Don't miss out on the opportunity to get the Ahi Tuna app, best thing on menu.

I am giving 2 stars on the service last night. My parents had given me a gift card to go there for my birthday and my wife and I decided that with the gift card and free app we would go. The app came out immediately and was WELL UNDER COOKED. We ate it reluctantly. Our waitress took the order and before I finished my sentence walked/ran to order it. (I wanted it well done. I like it crunchy not burned it came out with seasoning not cooked) she even took the plate with food Still on it. As the night progressed this would be found as a continual problem. She was very impatient and boarder line rude. Our two steaks came out 1 degree more than we liked and my wife's ribeye was extremely tough. We sent it back and got two new ones. Those were night and day. But the employee failed to accommodate the mistake. No dessert, no discount, etc. while we ate we didn't get but one refill, and we had to ask another waitress for to go boxes. My wife and I are going to give them another chance but it will be quit a while before we do. We would much rather go to a competitor and get the quality of service we like and pay the $2 extra dollars I would recommend this place but on a rare occasion. I would probably tell them Texas Roadhouse or Mountain Jacks before Outback.

Visited opening time at lunch. I have been in several Outbacks in several states and I expected another enjoyable meal (as we were celebrating Grandma's Birthday) but it was not to be. Our steaks were terrible. I managed to get thru mine but the two elderly ladies could not even chew their steaks. Outback has always been good but this place needs to address this issue before I would recommend this to anyone.

So I live nearby and I've been here about 3 or 4 times in the last 18 months. In the past I've gotten the steak with mushrooms or some such, it's always been cooked well with lots of flavor. Their menu, while kind of small (if you don't want to spend more than $12 on the entree), has good choices in toppings and sauces that other steakhouses do not attend to. However, you only get one side with your meal and they charge the full price to add a side salad or an upcharge to change the fries to a salad which is kind of sneaky. You may think they've lowered their prices, compared to about 5 yrs ago when a 6 oz was about $15, but really they've just chopped the portions and sides. For example, Logan's and Texas Roadhouse charge based on 2 sides and unlimited bread, Texas R charges $10 for a 6 oz + 2 sides that have a lot of toppings--whether it's a salad or loaded potato, Outback charges $10 for 6oz and fries only, add a salad for the full $3 (one small loaf of bread no matter how many people are at the table). So, the food is good but kind of small, overpriced and the sides themselves are bland. Anyway, this time I and my partner ordered a chicken salad and a blossom. The blossom came out quickly (though the waitress mentioned she might have snatched it from someone else's order), and it was VERY done (dark brown) and greasy. Then the salads finally came out (not really too much of a wait considering the crowd), and they were missing half the toppings and what toppings they remembered were very sparse. The chicken itself was excellent but as a Cobb it fell short--it came with plain iceberg, not chopped well for a salad plate (couldn't toss or eat without weird iceberg shrapnel hanging out your mouth), I had 2 cherry tomatoes halved (my partner had about 5 halved), and a pinch of cheese--no bacon, no onion, no cucumbers, and no egg (all of which are mentioned on the menu)! It took the waitress awhile to come back and check on us and when we told her she didn't know what to do and just said hold on and left, about 4-5 min later she came out with another salad (no chkn) which still didn't have all the toppings (very little egg, no onion or cucumber and still very little cheese and the rest). After the meal the manager came over and offered free dessert (I got cheesecake--very small sliver and no crust on bottom or back, my partner got carrot cake--dry), they totally took care of us and the waitress explained they had a series of unfortunate events in the restaurant that whole day and mentioned one of the managers in the kitchen wasn't the best at working there and making sure the orders were right. Honestly, I felt it was her job to do that--it was when I was a waitress, I mean look at the charred blossom and know it's over done or the oil needs changed, but don't serve it. Look at the salads your taking out and realize it's a plain house salad with chicken on it. Anyway, ultimately, if everything had gone well I still think it would've been a disappointing experience as the lettuce was plain, the cheese and bacon didn't have flavor and the portion was small. As a side, while seated in a thinning restaurant the hostess seated a couple with 2 babies in a small booth for 2 and they were ticked--it was a bit of a squeeze for them and then the toddler and coarsest baby it was pretty ridiculous. And, when it was over I was really sick (which was a me thing not the restaurant), which happens when a restaurant uses a lot of preservatives or bleach on their salad to clean it. Anyway, go there if you Need a steak but not if you're hungry or thrifty. I don't like leaving a restaurant feeling like I was duped but the quality there left little choice. I guess I'll stick to Texas R from now on.
