cool place out in fort ben area. you walk into the center of a large, high ceiling room. there are several lower eating tables and high tables to the left & right. the bar is on the west wall, slightly off center to the south. windows into the brewery directly behind the bar. polished stainless bar top with no rail. no wooden stools with backs. bar area is separated from eating area by simple steel pipe. super friendly staff that are very helpful. food relies on food trucks parked outside. unfortunately the one time i ate here it was the perogi truck. can't hold that against triton though. the beer list is long and all are very good. not in fort ben area often, but will always stop at triton if open.

Location and parking is great. The business hours suck! Closed Monday and Tuesday. Shut down and closed around 10 pm other days! Service is good until it's crowded then it s-l-o-w-s down drastically. The food trucks aren't that great for the price...

A tasting room for all things Triton? Yes, please! I have been dying to check this place out for months, and I recently got my choice. I stopped in on a Wednesday after work and had a great experience. I had a few pints of their beer in their comfortable tasting room. It had plenty of seating, a cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Triton also serves Taste of Philly pretzels which is wonderful. On Wednesdays, food trucks park in the parking lot and Triton lets you bring your food inside. All in all, this place is great. You won't be disappointed if you stop by!

Disappointed with the service. Lots of waiting & not very friendly. Would like to try some different brews but the place is busy & not enough help. Will be trying someplace else.

The beers at Triton were great! 20 different beers on tap and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The Field House Wheat and Deadeye Stout were both excellent and their speciality beers (Nutty Professor and Gingerbread Brown) were both tasty and satisfying. No food but the beers are worth the trip!

Great place to sit down and drink beer with friends, I just didn't like the beer. Triton has amazing graphic design, and helpful employees, but it isn't enough to overcome my dislike for their beer. I found most of the beer to be overpowered by Hops and not too complicated when it came to flavor. It felt like the brewers were using hops heavy-handedly to mask any mistakes. Definitely won't be going back,

I liked all 4 of the Triton beers I tried as 1/2 pints for $3 or $3.25 apiece, but I probably should have gone with the $13 sampler of 6 beers at 1/2 pint each. Inside was clean, comfortable, easy to chat with friends. Not loud, thank goodness. I look forward to going back. The $6 Pastrami Bomb from the food truck outside was quite tasty, and it was brought inside and served to us at our table. Quite a good time!

I want so badly to like Triton more. There are a lot of great things about them and a good idea but I just can't get into their beers. It's a great concept. You should certainly take a tour and learn about their water if you have a chance. The brewers really know their stuff! The taproom is very cute and they have an excellent food truck rotation. Everyone has different tastes so perhaps it's just my palate that doesn't care for their beer.

I don't like beer - so take my review with that in mind. 1) The sampler flight is HUGE, and they gave is two extra seasonal a for free. Holy cow! You can see the size in the photos. Very cool. 2) The location is right out by Ft. Ben so it's easy to get to and easy, ample parking. 3) They team with food trucks so there was a truck out front serving dishes of yummy looking chow. 4) Triton serves some other items such as root beer (which was really awesome) and pretzels. So there are some other nonalcoholic drinks for the under 21. 5) The waitstaff was really nice and knowledgeable. Great people! Overall a great, fun place. Highly recommend!

Stopped in here after softball practice, because let's be honest, the only reason adult softball leagues exist is to get together and drink before, during, and after we pretend to be good at sports. The location is kind of odd, since it does exist on a former military base, but it isn't too hard to find since you will easily notice the large grain hopper out front bearing the Triton Brewing logo. There was plenty of parking in their parking lot as well as on the street in front of the brewery. The building is neat, and has both inside and outside seating that were both pretty full. Behind the bar is a large glass window so you can see the actual brewery and check out what is going on. It has tin roofs, so the inside area seems to get pretty loud with just conversation because everything echoes, but it's not too bad. There is a bar with 8-10 seats along with plenty of tables. They also have a few TV's inside on various sports channels, but I wouldn't call this a sports bar by any means. There weren't any 4-legged patrons there when I was visiting, but they do make it clear that people are more than welcome to bring in their dogs in with them. The same goes for kids, and it looked like there were actually a significant number of families enjoying themselves there. As far as the beer goes, they have the usual things that you can now find in most bars in Indy, along with 5 or 6 extras that I haven't seen anywhere else before. These specialty beers definitely gave you a sampling of a little bit of everything, from one of the most smoky scotch ales I have ever tried, to a coriander and peppercorn saison that was a new taste to me. They had a few 10%+ beers available as well, but it was not that kind of evening for me. The waitress was more than happy to provide samples of everything before we had to commit. If you decide you like more beers than you should probably consume in an evening, they offer half pint glasses of each one as well, so you can make your way through the different offerings without going overboard. I give them big props for also hosting guest taps and bringing in some good beer that I haven't seen available at other locations. As far as food goes, Triton doesn't have much to offer outside of pretzels, but they do host different food trucks right outside the door so you have something to eat. We ordered outside at the truck and the food was brought in right to our table when it was done. I couldn't find a Yelp page for Big Ron's food truck, but if I ever run into him again, you can sign me up for another Big Ron Sandwich. It was absolutely delicious, even if it did knock a few months off of my overall lifespan. I'll be looking into taking a tour of the brewery the next time I get a free Wednesday evening or Saturday afternoon.

We visited yesterday as part of an Easter Brew Crawl. It's the second time we've been there and the second time the waitress was rude. I emailed the owner and his reply is shown below. Beer is average at best and service is absolutely terrible. Better options are Black Acre on the East side, Fountain Square Brewing Company or Flat12 downtown. Response to my email... Sorry for your bad experiences. I'm sorry we couldn't live up to your expectations. Have a nice Easter. Best, David Waldman Operations Director/Founder I'm sorry, but this response says we don't care about customers.

I'm sorry, how have I not reviewed Triton yet? So this brewery gets a bit of a bonus for being the closest to my house, but honestly, that can only take you so far as I really do drink a lot of beer. The Deadeye Stout is my favorite stout in Indiana, and as stout is my favorite type of beer, that is giving some good props for Triton. Their other beers are also delicious, and they always have some really interesting guest taps on as well - the last time I was in I had something from Ommegang, and some bourbon aged sour from I don't remember where, that were both pretty amazing. The taproom itself is just someplace you'd want to hang out. There are often food trucks there, and the brewery servers fantastic pretzels. They've expanded and have a gorgeous patio area now as well. The staff are always above and beyond friendly, no matter how busy they are. $5 Sunday growler fills is a sweet deal as well.

  • Sonya A.

Definitely one of my top Indianapolis beer places in town. They have a huge selection of beers, all their usuALEs and seasonALEs but then 6 guest taps.. that's a lot of beer. Beer: 5/5 - Great selection, great flight, great beer. My fav are the 500 Monk Bourbon Barrel, the Pink Ribbon Saison, Sin Bin, the Stout.. their seasonal beers never fail. The French Toast Saison was yummy! Food: Triton, themselves, don't do food, but never fear! they offer pretzels and a food truck is generally always available. Location: 5/5 - Right in Ft. Ben, they converter an old stable/motor pool into a full production brewery. The outdoor seating is nice and sitting at the bar is cool. Not to sound like an ass, but the only downside are the number of kids usually around. It's great for business that they can also let under 21 kids in, but I can't help my head goes off "ooo noooooesss da kiiddzzz"

What can I say? This brewery is wonderful! In my opinion one of the best kept secrets in Indy. The brewery consists of an indoor tasting room, complete with a bar and amply seating. They have TV's so you can also watch a game while drinking some of their local beers. Also, in warmer weather the patio is a great place to enjoy some food and brews. As for food, they have food trucks out front every day they are open! They also sell pretzels inside. My favorite beer at Triton is the Sin Bin Ale! I've also had a sampler and tried most of the other beers on tap. The seasonal gingerbread ale is also very tasty. Overall, I've not had a bad experience at this place. The staff is very friendly and welcoming! I will be back often.

Food = 4 (food trucks are outside) ? ... beer is pretty good. Price = 3 (a little spendy) Experience = 4 (odd location... but, interesting. it was packed, service was good) I'm sure the locals are thrilled with this place...

Had a great time on a Friday night with friends. Tried all sorts of beer and also drank a pint or two. It's awesome that you can have all sorts of food delivered. Although the layout is not very conducive to the cold. Every time someone walked in the door, I got the chills.

Being a beer snob I approached Triton with high expectations and a sense of adventure. I was not disappointed. Before a detail the beer experience I'll touch on other aspects of the tap room. I like how the space makes use of the historic building with the exposed brick and high ceilings. The newly constructed metal and glass blend in a modern touch to the brick frame; very inviting. Instead of serving their own food, they have food trucks stop by daily so you can try a variety of offerings, the only downfall would be getting your favorites each time, but I enjoy variety and remain focused on the beer... The beer: they have a rotating list of guest taps - all hearty craft brews, nothing trite or macro. They do brew their own beer which was my primary interest in Triton. All of the styles were carefully crafted and anything but pedestrian. I enjoyed all five house styles and the Bourbon Barrel version of the Stout. My two favorites are the ones they gave a little adventurous twist to: the Amber is dry hopped so there is a nice bitter bite complementing the expected caramel usually associated with an amber, and the Wheat has a nice addition of Amarillo hops which adds a little touch of spice. Ummmm. Thanks Triton, I will return often for pints and growler fills!

I think these guys are knocking it out of the park for what they are doing. Great beer, a chill environment, and a seemingly rotating selection of food made our visit wonderful. Lots of tasty beers that didn't disappoint in a cool building. I like seeing renewal and reuse of old buildings, especially redeeming the former military complex for continued use to help the city. They are leading the pack in making their neighborhood a draw, and they will draw me back, especially when I have guests in town and what a chill place to visit. For what they are doing, its as good as it gets. They are creating a great market for themselves that is, in my opinion, unique to the city. Its just enough different that it totally works!

First visit here. Only one employee was in the place; I felt bad for her, but really? Poor planning. But, to what it counts. ... the house beer was really good (especially the stout). I enjoyed the sampler, especially the guest tap (Cerise). They were out of root beer, so the waitress/server/everything brought us an extra round of samples. I'd go back ... $9 for $6 generous samples of beer? Win.

Triton Brewing consistently brews tasty #craftbeer The #SinBinBelgianPaleAle is the Official Beer of the #IndianaIce hockey team. The seasonal #GingerbreadBrown is a delicious enhancement to Triton's year round #FourBarrelBrown. Enjoy all their brews including their delicious #RootBeer

I've tried most of Triton's beers and they have all been good. I lean more towards IPAs but I thought their wheat (field house) beer was really good. Great atmosphere in the Fort area. I've heard they are putting a location in the Broad Ripple area too.

Indianapolis is experiencing the birth of several breweries, which is awesome. Triton recently opened it's doors in the Ft. Ben area which has it's pros and cons given the beautiful scenery but can't boast that it's "an easy stop". The building is pretty cool with potential. You can belly up at a little bar which faces some big window peering into their tanks. they have some other table seating which opens the area up. Ambiance = good. Okay, now the beer. They do charge for tastings so be prepared upon arrival. They had 4 of their beers tapped along with others such as Bell, Arrogant Bastard which the owner stated they would continue to tap beers other than their own for variety. They do serve food, if you want to call it that. They had Fat Sammies in the lot out front, and they served pretzels they warmed up in a dorm room style microwave, somewhat tacky, but hey, it allowed those interested to enjoy a cold pint if they were in the mood. Overall, it was a mediocre experience. Not sure if I would make a special trip if I wasn't already in the area. I'll keep an eye on it for sure, as I'm a fan of supporting local breweries.

Stopped in on a cold and rainy night. Location is easy to find and just a couple minutes off of 465. Ample parking which is appreciated. This place is instantly the nicest tasting room in Indianapolis. Like an upscale pub without food, really. I liked the reclaimed brick. They have some tables and a bar with TVs and the game on. The only food on the menu looked to be pretzels, so be sure to check Twitter to if there is going to be a food truck there. By the time I arrived at 8:00, the food truck had already checked out for the night. Servers were very friendly if not a little pushy. I appreciated them getting me a glass of water while sampling their house beers. I found their house beers to be a little bit on the safe side of their genres. Probably a good business bet, but a little disappointing for a hardcore beer nerd. Their guest tap list, however, filled in the gaps in their lineup - there was an excellent choice available for any beer lover. If you're looking for a nice place to grab a pint, it's a nice option. It isn't yet to a point where I would consider it a destination, but if you are in the area, I would recommend it. I look forward to seeing how it evolves in the future.

I was surprised to even find TBC situated on the former Ft. Benjamin Harrison in the outskirts of Indy. Although it wasn't exactly the spot I expected to find a local microbrewery, I was happy to see it being utilized so efficiently with their production plant and tap room combined in one spacious facility. Triton is one of the newer microbreweries in the area with a half dozen of their basic brews and some additional seasonal and guest beers available on tap for flights, half pints, pints and growler fills. Wanting to avoid the standard offerings, I opted to try the Dillinger Extorter Porter and Gingerbread Brow Ale, both smooth, dark and complimentary to the Winter wonderland outside. Tasting room hours are limited to late afternoons/evenings on Wed-Sun. Oh, and if you get the munchies, a couple of different food trucks are located outside. However, I was holding out for dinner elsewhere, post-sampling. Regardless, Triton is definitely worth a stop for craft brew fans, if you're in the area. 3.5 Stars.

Wow! The beer has gotten so much better here! Seriously...if you went back in the early days and kinda thought, "meh...not really worth leaving downtown for"...you should go back! We enjoyed all 4 of our half-size beers enough to get a pint of one. If I hadn't been on a bike I would've drank more but alas Brittany, beer, and bikes do not mix...especially when "home" is 17 miles away and it's windy. I enjoy their soft pretzels (available with cheese now!) and that they nearly always have a food truck out front. There's a patio outside (with many species of wasps...I counted 5 including a HUGE Cicada Killer) with plenty of seats. Bonus points that the bartender noticed the 2 of us ordered food and brought us extra forks since the foodtruck guy charges extra for a second fork and an extra napkin. We had the French Toast Saison, the Peanut Butter Brown, Wit or Witout You, and Fieldhouse Wheat (I think...he ordered the beer while I ordered the food). Refreshing and awesome. The reason there isn't 5 stars is because there's always SO MANY KIDS. If this was a kid-free brewery I'd probably give 5-stars. If you wanna bring your kids with you while you drink, this is YOUR SPOT, DUDE!!!

This brewery is definitely going down hill. While I like Triton's forking series beer most of the time, they rarely have it on tap anymore. Last time I went two of the beers I asked for on the menu were out (and out days before according to twitter)... please print new menus or cross out beers that are out. Also the service is really bad, it took 30+ minutes from when we finished our beers till we were asked if we wanted another. And last but not least the last two times I have been to Triton I had to bus the table before I could sit down. They are not clearing and cleaning tables regularly even when it's been 10min since customers left.

Love Triton! The Sweet Georgia Brown might be the best beer I've ever tasted, and the Deadeye Stout is incredible as well. Best of all, they're a short bike ride from my house! They don't have a kitchen, but they have different food trucks nearly every night. They're closed Monday and Tuesday, with new tappings nearly every Wednesday.

Recently went on a Saturday afternoon with my husband and two kids, ages one and four. I was pleasantly surprised at how kid friendly the place was - when my husband first came up with the idea, I was doubtful. We had a friendly waitress who was more than willing to let us try samples until we picked a pint. There were several highchairs for the kids, and they had no problems with me bringing in finger foods for their dinner. We also ordered a pretzel, which came with four different mustards and cheese sauce. There was a food truck outside, and we took a few growlers home. There were several other families inside with little ones, so we did not feel out of place. Overall, it was a great "beer picnic"!

My husband and I have begun to become regulars at Triton. The beer is great -we LOVE the Railsplitter IPA and we're huge fans of the the B-65 beers. Although they don't have an in-house menu, the daily selection provided by the food trucks has not disappointed! Pizza, tacos, mac-n-cheese, burritos, nachos, sandwiches, etc.- all outstanding!! As an aside, they do serve big baked pretzels with lots of yummy dipping sauces that pair really well with beer. We've consistently had great service even though it can get a bit slow when it's busy, which is understandable. All of these positives aside, the one thing we really love is that Triton is a family establishment. Being new to Indy, we are often turned away from dining and enjoying a beer because we have our 6 month old daughter in tow...not at Triton!! It is a normal occurrence to see other families enjoying the great food, atmosphere, and beers for the parents...and not only do they allow it, they seem happy to have kids (and dogs!!) part of the festive environment- bravo Triton!

A pleasant surprise! I went specifically for the food trucks that they had outside. No need to lie. It was cold out so after we ordered our food we went inside. Once we were inside the waitress let us know she would be with us soon. After finishing her tasks she came over to take our order. I asked her about the different variations of beer they had, & she asked me what I normally drank. She informed me that she'd bring whatever I want so that I can sample it. I sampled a few, but didn't really find one that I couldn't live with out. The waitress brought the little one at the table a sample of root beer which I thought was cute & very sweet. The root beer was FLIPPING great...like root beer stand quality. LIKE BRING YOUR OWN ICE CREAM & MAKE A FLOAT GOOD!!!!!

I got an early preview of the Triton Brewing Co. for the Blue Mile - Brew Mile event. Their last piece of equipment didn't get installed in time to have any of their beer available at the event, so unfortunately i can't review that, but i can review the facilities. The building is located in the middle of Fort. Benjamin with ample street parking, for now. Why for now? Because if their beer is good, the place will probably become busy pretty quickly. Their tasting room has plenty of tables and chairs (for now), they have room to add some nice outdoor seating, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, even for their guest beers. They are scheduled to start having beer available sometime in September and once they do, I will be back to try it and write an update to this review.

I'm not an expert on beer, but I do love to drink it! My friend introduced me to this place because its one of her favorite places to go. I had a great time. It was a very chill and relaxed setting, and I think the beer is great! First time I went I got the sampler, and ended up going home with a growler. They also have food trucks that come around the place (a different one every day). Their gingerbread beer is great too (forget the correct name) My only negative is the location is kind of out of the way from everything. But no big deal if your driving. I'd totally give this place a try if you love beer!

Recently visited this brewery in Ft Ben area. Went with a crew of 16 and everyone loved it! Obviously, we're all fans of their beers- and was pleasantly surprised at the beer options at the brewery. They have a nice set up and very accommodating. The staff is extremely helpful and generous with sampling of beers. Personal favorite is the Fieldhouse Wheat. When i was there, a pizza truck was there for those needing food. A solid experience and will most certainly be back! A perfect spot when on a brewery crawl.

Love this place!!! Triton is by far my favorite brewery in the city. My favorite beer is O-Rye-N Galaxy; great tasting pale ale! Triton does not serve food (except for soft pretzels), but there are always great food trucks outside! Check this place out, it's a great place to have a pint!

Every once in a while, we find ourselves near Ft. Ben, and I turn to the girlfriend and say, "Hey, maybe we should stop by Triton and see what they have..." Usually, ten minutes later, we're sitting at the bar and I'm reminded of why we don't usually make the trip out here. While other local breweries (Flat 12, Sun King, Bier, etc.) all maintain the atmosphere of a brewery, Triton feels like it's trying to be a brewpub... except they don't actually have food (save the food truck out front). I'm never hanging out here chatting up the brewmaster, but rather being annoyed with some lackluster service from a random barmaid who's been hired to work the taps. The beer here has also never really knocked my socks off. They have their four standard brews and usually a few hoppy IPAs that don't interest me. Add in the constant flow of yuppies who decided to stop here with all five of their kids after a strenuous walk through the state park, and this place starts feeling more like an Applebees than a brewery (sans Riblets, of course). All that said, I *do* actually recommend Triton Tap in Broad Ripple.

It was a crowded night at Triton for their Clustertruck event. I sampled two of their beers, the stout and the I-65 porter. Both were tasty and I enjoyed being able to get sample 1/2 pints without spending a fortune. they had some non-triton brews on tap as well. I'm not sure about the nights when they don't have an event going on but the place was packed tonight. We would go back again. also, the wife really liked their root beer

I came here after a 40 mile bike ride. They had just opened, but welcomed us in. The server offered to fill our water bottles and even gave us 4 free bottles they had left over from a previous event. The water was triple charcoaled filtered which they use in their brewing process. I don't know if it was the dehydration speaking or not but that was great water! We went back later in the day because of the amazing service we had received. They have free Wi-fi, lots of TV's, cold beer, and even serve Pat's Philly Pretzels. They have cornhole boards and really have created an atmosphere to enjoy an entire Saturday or Sunday. Their beers are great with everything from porter, ipa, amber, to blonde ale. Thanks for another great brewery in Indy.

A new brewery in Indianapolis? Oh you bet we'll be there! =) Since the publication of Indiana Breweries, my husband and I have been waiting for Triton to open. We saw the construction and the governmental progress through their Facebook postings.. and I'm very happy to report that it was well worth the wait! When you enter the taproom the vibe is very friendly-industrial art. It walks the balance between shiny and friendly quite well! A really nice amount of seating, both tables and a nice large bar that has a gorgeous view of the vats. Yes! Pre-beer! I like seeing where my beer comes from... =) Their flagship beers are the Fieldhouse Wheat, Rail Splitter IPA, Magnificent Amber (it is!), Four Barrel Brown and Deadeye Stout. When we went they had a Milk Stout that was a collaboration between them and Flat 12 Brewing - and also their Bourbon Barrel aged Deadeye Stout (To.Die.For!) Triton explains on their website that they care about everything that goes into their beers, down to doing the exacting process of water mineral manipulation. Generally this is a last step for many homebrewers and professional breweries as well. The beer did *not* taste like the beer from a new brewery, but Indiana is definitely very much of the 'apprentice at one brewery and then open your own!' spirit. It shows. The maltier their beers got, the more I fell in love with them. Their Deadeye Stout is as good or better than stouts done by much more experienced breweries. The Bourbon Barrel aged.. well.. *happy sigh*. Unique among brewery taprooms is their 8 guest taps. They don't only want you to enjoy their beer - they want you to enjoy *many different* beer experiences. I love them even more for doing this and I hope other breweries will follow suit (A girl can dream, right? =) ) If you love good well-balanced beers (the IPA has a nice malt backbone, the Amber and Browns have nicely balanced hops/malt) you need to head down to Triton Brewing Company. Enjoy some there and then take some back home to enjoy with your friends!

Wow! Talk about promise. I went here yesterday and I'm very happy. Sure, there were a couple kinks. So far, they only have one of their own beers available, so call ahead if you look online and like the looks of the beer they say they'll have. They may not have it ... yet. But they have lots of delicious guest taps to keep you company in the meantime. Oh, and the place itself is just beautiful! Just know what to expect: It's not a brewpub or restaurant, it's a bar and brewery with a tasting room. The location is more functional than a nice place to walk around. And it's not a seasoned establishment, but a new business gearing up for a promising future. But when that future arrives -- and arrive soon it might! -- get ready. This should be a fine addition to Indy's growing gastronomical scene. PS - Oh, and since they brew their own beer, they're exempt from the No Sales on Sunday laws. Go on in, and bring or buy a growler to take some with you.

Loved it! Our server was very knowledgeable and made sure we had everything we needed. I tried the Muletide ale and the Gingerbread one and thought they were both awesome. The soft pretzels with the different mustards were yummy and having a food truck out front was a great idea. I will definitely be back!

First, let me get the one negative thing I have to say about Triton out of the way: they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Bollocks! I love beer, and if you love beer too then you should give Triton a whirl. You can occasionally find the brews on tap in restaurants around Indy, but I've found that more often than not it's their IPA, which in my opinion is pretty standard. The good stuff comes from the source. I could sit here and talk about the beer forever but I'll keep it simple: it's good. Not the most amazing beer in the world, but I've never had one that I didn't like. They have several rotating taps along with their standard 6 or 7, and they also feature guest brews on tap (such as Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout). They even have their own root beer, which is pretty good and tastes a little more like sarsaparilla to me. If you're looking for creamy root beer like A&W or the amazing stuff they serve at Mug N' Bun, you won't find it here. Triton's has bite, and I like it a lot. If you're hungry then they do serve pretzels, but one of my favorite parts about this place is that every day of the week they have a different food truck parked outside. It's the same ones week to week, and they're all pretty good. They'll even take your order for food at your table, go place it at the food truck for you, and then bring your food in when it's ready. Pretty cool, although it makes me feel lazy so I usually take care of it myself. The interior space is pretty limited (with about 20 tables if I had to guess), but they recently added an outdoor area to expand the space. The service is incredibly friendly, although it can be a little slow at times when it's pretty busy. There's a small bar area that is sectioned off so kids are allowed. I've also noticed that a lot of people bring their dogs (on leashes). I love dogs so I'm not complaining, but I have no idea why it's such a popular thing to do. If you're in the Fort Harrison area then give Triton a whirl. I work nearby and try to visit at least once a month to enjoy a pint or two and fill a growler on my way out. You can also buy cold 6-packs of bottles of a select few of their beers, and even get a t-shirt or hoodie if you really want to show some support.

This is one of my favorite places. They've built a beer garden and allow dogs outside. Kids are welcome; my daughter LOVES the root beer (so do I). They have excellent house beers and I love trying their special taps. They usually have really good guest taps as well, and if you're not a beer person, they serve wine and of course their fabulous root beer. Service is usually spot-on. I'd give it 5 stars except for: 1. They have single bathrooms (anyplace serving beer should have multiple stalls, especially now that they've expanded) and 2. they're often out of pretzels, which are my favorite option if I'm not thrilled about the food trucks. Highly recommend Triton.

Triton is cool brewery with a lot on tap and bottle options too. Very little in the way of food options but a 'food truck of the day' is usually parked out front. I didn't eat off the yellow "Sliders" truck so I cannot review the food, but from my vantage point it was taking a long time for people to get their food orders. (Maybe cause SO fresh?! Dunno). Service would probably been better and ranked higher if I had gotten different server. The guy who waited on me and my buddy said about a dozen words to us. Didn't explain anything, didn't offer suggestions, didn't tell us anything about the food or food truck featured that day. We told him it was our first time there and he said "OK" then, nothing, SILENCE. Terrible waiter. I still left him a good tip though cause I'm not a douche. I take friends who are new to Indy out a lot and this place will probably not be on my return list. Although I might give it one more chance. I got the sampler which was overpriced but a good way to try what they have. Then I had two pints of Railsplitter and a half-pint of Headsplitter. So after dropping $30+ I was a little annoyed at the crap-level of service. The first beer on the sampler is Field-house Wheat, a hoppy blonde that reminds me of Schlitz, not good. It lingers in your mouth too long. Next is Four Barrel Brown, pleasant enough but not memorable. From the Magnificent Amber, Railsplitter to Sin Bin, they all tasted relatively the same. None of them stood out and had more body or crispness than the preceding one. The Deadeye Stout was a true stout though. The correct overtones were present, deep flavor yet doesn't overpower, it would compliment a steak. The Headsplitter was good but it's also 9% ABV and anything so high in content is frat-boy beer, which I'm not a huge fan of. The 500 Monks had just been tapped that day and I can say was the freshest beer I tried. You can tell they use filtered if not RO water, which is a huge plus even though it couldn't save the Wheat. The interior is not comfortable, it's tinny and loud. (Hang a rug on the wall or something). The tall chairs are hard and uncomfortable and seat six (at too small of a table). Same goes for the regular height table and chairs that seat 4. Maybe a seat at the bar is the best spot or perhaps outside? Overall, not a bad, if pricey, place to get some brews, throw some bean bags, etc. If they improve the service and the interior they could be around for a long time. Had I gotten a different server, (Maybe the fast and efficient red head or the other lovely lady (owner?) who was schmoozing AND serving, my experience wold have been much much better.

Triton prides itself on the cleanliness of their beer. I respect the shit outta that, and they make some darn good beer! The staff is fairly friendly and helpful, but it's really about the beer and the experience. If you get a chance to meet the brewers and have a tour, take it! Also, be sure to try whatever they have on nitro. Food truck Fridays!

Their beer selection is good. They have their flagship beers but also a nice selection of rotating seasonals. On my most recent trip, one of the employees was a bit short and condescending to my fiancé and I when we were asking a couple of questions. They may have been having a bad day and I'm sure they get sick of answering the same questions over and over again. (I also work at a brewery, so I understand) It was nothing that would keep us from coming back, but it did rub us the wrong way. Another employee who was working must have noticed because they came over and were extremely helpful and polite. Even going above and beyond what a server at a brewery is expected to do. Overall, if you're looking to try a variety of quality beers, you won't be disappointed with Triton.

Being as Triton is one of my favorites and I'm a beer enthusiast, I have been here several times and have never had a bad experience. When we visited on a Sunday afternoon and sat at the bar, they offered an extensive beer list of Triton options with good descriptions. There were a few guest taps available. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about the brews and was spot on with getting us another beer quickly. Several people stopped in for growler refills. There is usually always a food truck outside. The inside area has plenty of tables, enough tvs (always on sports), and Triton merchandise. There is a small patio area outside. My favs are the Hatchblower Pepper IPA, which is a pepper-like spicy beer...really good...and Railsplitter IPA. The vibe here is always laid back, which is exactly how I like it.

I cannot say enough nice things about Triton. The beers here are well crafted and reasonably priced. They usually have a wide variety of IPA's on tap. They rotate Food trucks outside so tasty food is always available. Today they have finger foodies.

Dog-friendliness is hit or miss now. I think they got busted by the health department so the inside may or may not allow your canines to hang out depending on how skittish the staff is. The outside is pet-friendly of course.

Wow, I think they had 19 of their beers available the day we were there. And at least four were barrel aged. And they even had a sour. Yes! We tried a bunch of them. My favorites were Barrel Aged Crosstown Rye-vals, Bourbon Barrel Oatmeal Stout, Barrel Aged Three Tine Tripel, and Barrel Aged Alt Lang Syne Sour. Hmm, seems to be a trend there... My favorite of their beers available at the liquor store is the Sin Bin Pale Ale. The only food available is from whatever food truck is parked out front. Der Pretzel Wagen was there this time. Amazing pretzels BUT no vegetarian pretzel sandwich options :( Had to have dinner elsewhere. Children are allowed, which is nice and far too rare for Indianapolis microbreweries. Triton is tucked into the Fort Ben neighborhood, which is pretty cool but you'll probably need to check a map to find it the first time. There is also a nice outdoor seating area.

I stopped in at triton today during a long, hilly cycle. I was 35 miles in, with 10 to go, and I was out of water. Triton just opened, and I asked if I could buy a bottle. The bartender told me no, but we (3 people in my party) could gladly have full bottle of their triple charcoal filtered water. She filed our 5 bottles, and then proceeded to fill some extra sport bottles they had leftover from an event. We finished our ride home, showered, and drove back to Triton for a beer and a braid of 3 Pat's Philly Pretzels. Triton is a great brewery, with a great taproom. They have ample seating indoor and out, a friendly wait staff, and delicious beers. Side note: triton sells snacks from Pat's, but they almost always have a food truck parked in their lot for lunch and dinner.

I had to wait almost 15 minutes before finally placing an order, but got nothing more than "we have 2 different flights". The only thing I'm happy about is the food trucks that here... The beer was good, but the service left a bad taste in my mouth. Sad, because I love breweries (actually work at one) & wanted to be a fan because triton is close to my home!

cool place out in fort ben area. you walk into the center of a large, high ceiling room. there are several lower eating tables and high tables to the left & right. the bar is on the west wall, slightly off center to the south. windows into the brewery directly behind the bar. polished stainless bar top with no rail. no wooden stools with backs. bar area is separated from eating area by simple steel pipe. super friendly staff that are very helpful. food relies on food trucks parked outside. unfortunately the one time i ate here it was the perogi truck. can't hold that against triton though. the beer list is long and all are very good. not in fort ben area often, but will always stop at triton if open.

You like the taste of different beers, GO here! Easy, kick back place. Don't except to go in for dinner, they have a food cart outside. Great atmosphere, mix of clientele. Single women safe, not a hood rat bar. Area for sitting outside. Across the street from Ivy Tech, nice place to chill out after nursing clinical's.

For the Indy market that is rapidly expanding in craft beer options, these gentleman have figured out how to make some great beers. Additionally, the tap room is what I always imagined a tap room to be. You can sit and sample all of their beers and even try guest brews. What makes this place awesome is that you can bring your whole family in (and my family consists of my wife and 2 dogs) to enjoy beers, root beer, and various food trucks. Very close to Fort Ben so you can exercise before or after enjoying their fantastic beers. In closing, the Railsplitter IPA is the tastiest IPA I have ever had.

We actually didn't drink anything here but I was impressed with the service so I thought I'd leave a note. We drove a long way just so my husband could try their French Toast Beer. They were out but the lady at the counter was nice enough to call the tap house in Broad Ripple. They had plenty. So we packed up and went over there. Now my experience at the one in Ripple is an entirely different story.

nice brewery on the east side of Indianapolis, which has been gaining steam and expanding. they have a great belgian ale which along with their java porter is something i look to get every time i am there. they also have a decent number of seasonals as well as a few guest taps. last time i was there they had a bourbon barrel aged belgian which was very tasty. they always have a food truck on site for the food and you can get pop corn as well from the bar. My only complaint is regarding the cost of getting a growler filled as it is a little pricey but their new outside seating and their other beer will be enough to have me back some time in the future.

It's early in the game for this establishment. And of course there are some kinks to work out. But things look promising. The Look-I loved the aged brick interior. The bar view is really neat giving the patron a direct view into the brewery. Maybe the diamond plate wasn't the best idea or maybe I'm just being catty. The Food-There ain't no kitchen.....but they had pretzels and a sandwich stand that served brats and Italian beef. I have a feeling this will get tweaked some. All items were sampled and all were serviceable. The Service-Our waitress was nice enough but she clearly was over whelmed. I imagine this will get better. The Beer-Only 1 Triton original tap was ready to be served:The Field house Wheat. It was a bit too sweet for my liking. The honey flavor was overbearing but others at the table liked it just fine. New taps are on the horizon. Until then you can feast on 6-8 regional gems...Arrogant Bastard, Sun King's Oktoberfest, 3 Floyd's , Founders, and mead from our friends at New Day Meadery.

I have visited Triton several times, and really the only complaint is the Philadelphia company pretzels, just not a fan. But the beer is fresh and the brew master is a genius. There are always several beers on tap that I like and the owners do a great job of mixing up the taps regularly with seasonal brews. I also enjoy the guest beers. It's good to know that they're a not stuck on their stuff only. I'm still unsure of the food truck thing, maybe because I am always there on Cajun truck night and the food is always a let down compared to authentic Cajun, but not fault of Triton. It has become a definite destination point when I'm in the area.

Cool atmosphere, and nice tasting room. The beer is pretty tasty, not my favorite brewery in town, but tasty. I have no problem recommending my out of town friends. They are open Weds - Sunday. Which I discovered when I tried to go on Tuesday:-) They rotate food trucks here, which I think is a great idea. The growler refills are too expensive, in my opinion. But, you can fill them and leave on Sundays! All in all, a good place to have a beer!

This place is great. Kids and dogs are welcome, there is always a fun food truck there (even though they have some of their own food choices) and the beer is delicious!! The service is a tad slow, but you can't really be in a rush here anyways. The patio looks fun and promising - we went in the winter - I look forward to trying that out when the weather gets nice.

Might be my new favorite brewery in the Indy area. Every single beer this place makes is delicious. I don't like browns or ambers too much, and theirs are both damn good. I've also had their wheat, stout, and IPA and all were top notch. They even make root beer, so I gave that a try. I haven't had much root beer in my life, but theirs is the best I've ever had. The brewery is a cool space, the staff is super friendly, and Brewer Jon is the man. LOVE this place.

  • Nikolai S.

Where do I start. At 6:30 "opening night" the place was packed. There were screaming kids, nowhere to sit, and a LONG slow line to get a beer. Servers could be seen sitting around while the line got longer and longer. Needless to say its just another brewpub with average beer. I can't imagine coming back.

3.5 Stars.

Had a great time on a Friday night with friends. Tried all sorts of beer and also drank a pint or two. It's awesome that you can have all sorts of food delivered. Although the layout is not very conducive to the cold. Every time someone walked in the door, I got the chills.

The beers at Triton were great! 20 different beers on tap and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. No food but the beers are worth the trip!

No food menu, but great soft pretzels and, reportedly, a food-truck out in the parking lot after 4 pm....

Dog-friendliness is hit or miss now. I think they got busted by the health department so the inside may or may not allow your canines to hang out depending on how skittish the staff is. The outside is pet-friendly of course.

There is also a nice outdoor seating area.

nice brewery on the east side of Indianapolis, which has been gaining steam and expanding. they have a great belgian ale which along with their java porter is something i look to get every time i am there. they also have a decent number of seasonals as well as a few guest taps. last time i was there they had a bourbon barrel aged belgian which was very tasty. they always have a food truck on site for the food and you can get pop corn as well from the bar. My only complaint is regarding the cost of getting a growler filled as it is a little pricey but their new outside seating and their other beer will be enough to have me back some time in the future.

Side note: triton sells snacks from Pat's, but they almost always have a food truck parked in their lot for lunch and dinner.

cool place out in fort ben area. you walk into the center of a large, high ceiling room. there are several lower eating tables and high tables to the left & right. the bar is on the west wall, slightly off center to the south. windows into the brewery directly behind the bar. polished stainless bar top with no rail. no wooden stools with backs. bar area is separated from eating area by simple steel pipe. super friendly staff that are very helpful. food relies on food trucks parked outside. unfortunately the one time i ate here it was the perogi truck. can't hold that against triton though. the beer list is long and all are very good. not in fort ben area often, but will always stop at triton if open.

No food menu, but great soft pretzels and, reportedly, a food-truck out in the parking lot after 4 pm....
