The Patio is a nice, locally owned fast food joint. They have a pretty wide variety on the menu and it is pretty cheap, but the food was a little greasy for my liking. It looked pretty clean and is nice that you could order for takeout, delivery ($2), drive through, or eat in.

If you are on East Washington St near Shadeland, do yourself a favor and get a cheap lunch or dinner here. I'm warning you that you don't go for the ambience but you do go for the food and the prices. I didn't even get to take a picture of my food to post because I ate it too quickly. They have mostly sandwich type items but many gyros and items on pita bread. I had a taco and it was on pita bread and huge! I didn't even get the "meal" which comes with fries and a drink. Fresh homemade spicy as heck salsa. 2 people with me got gyros and they looked amazeballs (yeah I like that word) and another person got the Italian beef sandwich which was like a giant meat torpedo. Seriously impressed by this tiny hole in the wall. I think it's going to become a regular meeting point for me and my family (halfway between our homes). Thanks Yelpers for leading me to this gem!

This place doesn't look like much and you get your bang for the buck here! Four of us left the place stuffed for under $30. The gyro was HUUUUGE! No frills, paper plates and great food. BOOM. They win. I try and avoid the east side as much as possible but I might hop off 465 to swing into this place when I am in the area. Mostly sandwiches and how about a GIANT taco served on pita bread. You're crazy man... Crazy. Love it! Can't wait to return!

I always order thru grub hub, except once I called cause I had a question. The 4th star is because of their fast & friendly service & delivery. Jimmy Johns is much much closer closer and doesn't have to cook my food yet The Patio gets here quicker just as quick. Go figure. Their food is typical frozen stuff. They have a variety of options. But hey, when you can order up fast food why not. Now only if Steak & Shake offered delivery I'd loose my mind.

I love that I have a delivery choice in Irvington other than pizza or Chinese food. I found The Patio via Grub Hub and I am so glad I did. A nice variety of sandwiches, salads, pizzas, ribs, and various munchies and desserts (anyone who delivers chocolate cake to me is automatically on my good side). Their gyros are huge (add a pita and you get TWO from one) and they don't skimp on the feta cheese, their taco salads are yummy, their Chicago dogs are smallish but still yummy, and the fish sandwich is good size and tasty. The only disappointment I have experienced foodwise are the burgers. I wish they would use a little better quality meat patty. It's just not as good as everything else, sadly. They're super nice and if they have questions about my order, they don't assume, they actually call me or send along extra options just to be on the safe side. Delivery people are nice and fast. It's my favorite delivery place on the east side of Indy right now. I only wish they were open a bit later for those days I forget I am hungry until it's too late.

I stayed at Best Western and was looking for a late night bite. I saw the reviews on yelp and decided to give this place a try. It was right down the road. I thought it was a restaurant, but when I got there it was an old Burger King building. I ordered the gyro and cheeseburger combos with a side of fried mushrooms. The food was pretty good and the prices were cheap.

Should probably give them a 2.5, but we're willing to round up because of what they do here--family (locally) owned fast food. It's really everything you expect of fast food and nothing more. Frozen food that gets fried and tastes about as good as it can (though our food was individually fried for us rather than scooped out of an already-fried bin, so points for that!). Probably won't be back, but good for them for fighting the corporate fast food man.

:) cheap, awesome and delivers. Might not look like a lot, but next time you want a gyro that's fresh and not dried out and generous portions, check out The Patio!

Is it impressive looking... No, and actually its a not scary. But the food is always super tasty and cooked to order. You get tons for the money. My family of 5 can split 1 Gyro dinner.

Best gyros on the east side. Excellent prices, fast, friendly service, and awesome food. Gyros are enormous for around 5 bucks. It looks a little shady, but its a great place.

Great value for the money. I have carried out and have had good delivered. Gyros and grilled chicken sandwiches are some of my favorites. Staff has always been friend in person and on phone. Would recommend.

The Patio is good for what it is which is a locally owned fast food joint that has a menu as long as my arm. I only ever get their gyro which is HUGE. It's easily packed with enough meat for 2 gyros and almost impossible to eat without forking out some of the meat. I've paid way more for way less gyro. You get a lot of food for a low price and pretty quick service. If its fast food you're after, this is a good alternative.

This place is fire. Always the same people working. Try the Italian beef or their chicago dog. Best restaurant on the Eastside to get a quick bite.

Absolutely love that they deliver. Nice to have options other than just pizza or Chinese. Food quality could be a little better.

Great local spot. We go mainly for their fabulous gyros but they have a broad menu and daily specials. We have been there about a dozen times and highly recommend it if you don't mind that good ol' "hole in the wall" ambience.

You might be tempted to confuse The Patio with a certain former Broad Ripple nightclub of the same name. Don't. The Patio isn't a night club. There isn't any music, though there is a television that was playing a soccer match upon my arrival. No one's dancing, well, unless they had to go to the bathroom. The Patio is located in what looks like a former Burger King on East Washington Street. I am comfortable saying that most who drive by the place have either not noticed it, casually wondered about it, or simply thought "what a dive." Yep, it's a dive. The Patio is pretty much a run-of-the-mill locally owned restaurant with decent food, better service, and from what I'm reading some pretty awesome delivery within their area that includes Irvington. The Patio has a pretty good variety of sandwiches, salads, ribs, a few desserts, burgers, chicken, and from what I've heard a pretty awesome gyro. If you're the type of person who gets fidgety inside a less than sparkling clean restaurant, you may want to stay away from The Patio. It's clean, but not spotless and the restaurant has clearly seen better days. However, they must be doing something right because they've been open for awhile. The truth is I've hardly ever seen anyone in the parking lot as I drove by, a factor that likely contributed to my taking such a long time to try the place. However, I was in the mood for something different tonight and it seemed like a good time to try a casual looking place. They do have a couple accessible parking spots and a curb cut that works quite nicely. They have a couple of glass doors that weren't too bad to open, and it's your basic fast food layout when you enter - the counter to the right and the dining area to the left. The dining area consists of tables, booths, four-tops and two-tops. I ordered what they called the "jumbo tenderloin," and while it certainly was a nice sized chunk o' meat I'm guessing it was a frozen fritter. Still, it was pretty good and I enjoyed it. The combos come with fries and a drink. The fries are a decent sized order - while they didn't have much uniqueness to them, they certainly were pretty decent. I was a little concerned when I saw that all their drinks are fountain drinks, but they do offer unsweetened iced tea so I was happy. It's a self-serve, so refills were also available. I wasn't really expecting The Patio to blow me away. It didn't. In fact, I'm a little surprised by the number of five-star reviews, though I admittedly didn't try the gyros and the hot dogs which seem to be getting most of the praise. I could possibly go to a four-star, though I have to be honest and say that my suspicion that my "tenderloin" was a "fritter" leaves me comfortable with a three-star rating. The real kicker for me is that my entire meal was less than $8.00 - and they had meals that were even less expensive. So, while I may knock the food a bit the simple fact is that it was a decent meal, a nice sized meal, and a terrific price with good service tossed in. The Patio is certainly not a destination spot, but if you're on Indy's Eastside and don't want to go to the nearby Applebee's then this is a nice opportunity to support a local business. I'm glad I did and I'll definitely go back, though I'll likely try something other than the tenderloin next time around.
