Square Donuts Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

My first experience with Square Donuts was back in college in good 'ole Terre Haute. I had never heard of such a thing, and driving down the road early one morning, I stopped in to give them a try. These were probably the first donuts I ever purchased myself, and it takes me back to a simpler time, cruising down 3rd Street in my '88 Cutlass Supreme without a care in the world. Fast forward more years than I'd like to admit to current day, where Square Donuts isn't just a Terre Haute treat any longer. I'll admit that healthier choices (okay.. or maybe a Long's Donuts much closer) has kept me from visiting Square Donuts very often, there they are.. a blast from the past just sitting in the display case calling out to me. What's so different about a Square Donut instead of every other place in town? Well, really nothing except for the shape. They're the same cake or yeast donuts that you've come to love.. my favorite are the chocolate dipped one. The fat kid inside me wants to inhale them, but the somewhat fat kid that lives on the outside paces himself. This particular Square Donuts is located in an old KFC on the west side. It's not very fancy and most of the people do carry out - fortunately - because there isn't much of a seating area. The staff is friendly, the donuts are plentiful, and the prices aren't that bad. This isn't a gourmet place like Rocket 88. No sir. You want those fancy chocolate bacon dipped things.. you have to go into the city. Here on the west side it's basic.. and delicious!

Not a bad donut. Stopped in Saturday morning for a dozen before heading out for the day. They are $8.75 a dozen or .90 each. The glazed Kyle compared to Krispy Kreme. They were ok. I tried the peanut butter and jelly & they were really good. Peanut butter icing with a jelly filling. I would get them again if we stopped. The creme filled were not cooked all the way in the center. Could taste the raw dough.

I really want to rate this place a 3 and a half. I believe this place is worth a visit, but besides the shape of the donut, nothing about it really stands out especially compared to some of the other bakeries in town. I one morning at 5 a.m. after an early trip to the airport. I was excited when they actually opened a few minutes early. The donuts were freshly stocked. I ordered a peanut butter and jelly donut and a chocolate glazed donut. Both were good, bit nothing spectacular. I has gift expectations for the PB&J because I thought it was a unique flavor, but it was just a jelly donut with an odd peanut butter icing. The chocolate glazed was good, but super sweet to me. If I'm ever in the are and want a donut, I would definitely return, but I'm not going out of my way for one of these donuts.

Confused. Been there 3 times. Day after 7/4 they closed early, not at 12. I gave them a pass. Second time they were out of most except yeast. They said very busy . I got there at 11. Third time went with 3 kids. Only one or two of different types. They said very busy morning. This was at 9:30 am. No napkins given except four. Last of ones out to take, Granted I didn't ask for more. One cream filled with no cream. They had none to replace but did give 3 pink topped in place. Didn't have any more cream filled. Open trash can to use( gross). Extra room filled with shelving open to public to see. Not very classy. Donuts were not fresh not warm. Terrible and small looking display with no signs of types of donuts. Had to ask what each one was Still outline of KFC on front on building. Yeast good but not fresh. So if business is that great, make more, Came from Carmel, not again

They run out of original glazed really quickly so I am bummed that I did not get to try one. The peanut butter and jelly one is okay and the cinnamon sugar ones are pretty good. Even without trying the original glazed this is not my favorite donut place but at least I tried it. For now I think my favorite in Indy is between longs and hilligoss (wish there was a krispey kreme!)

Fresh, Friendly, Fast, Fantastic, Four Star, Fat Kid Food with a drive up window. Every time I pull up i am blown away and discover a new treat that is more amazing then the time before. I Highly Recommend Square D's for your Secret Sugar FIX!!! I almost forgot to mention that they use armored trucks for delivery!!!

Square Donuts are great!!! They have a pretty big selection of donuts! They're good!!! They have a Drive-Thru window too!!! Highly recommend!

We had the yeast donuts and both of us thought they were okay. They are more of a dense consistency than most yeast donuts such as Longs or even Kripsie Kremes. The few we had didn't seem to have a lot of flavor, mostly icing flavor. Perfectly acceptable but not our first choice when we want a warm donut. Be warned they fry a specific amount for the day and they usually run out of donuts well before noon! Our next trip we took a couple dozen to family for their opinions. The majority of comments we heard were their okay, good, dense and perfectly acceptable as long as you're not expected fluffy yeast donuts and that Square Donuts have a thicker, dense donuts. There are two other types we haven't tried because their always sold out and their best sellers so we'll give those a try soon.

SQUARE DONUTS!!!!! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!! Happened upon Square Donuts one Saturday morning and thought to myself...."self you need a donut!" And boy was I pleasantly surprised the donuts are in fact square. The donuts are just like the mom and pop shops I am used to back home. And unlike the stale donuts near my house...cough...dunkin....cough the donuts were fresh and the price was right. Customer service was also excellent.

Hands down best recipe in the city. Always fresh. Not undercooked but cooked just right. The peanut butter and jelly doughnut is like having the sandwich on steroids lol. Only downside is they aren't by far the cheapest but it's worth it.

Read the reviews and thought it was worth a try. Stopped on my way to work at 5:18 am. They open at 5:00 am. You would think you would open the door and smell donuts. Nothing. I ordered 3 dozen to share with my fellow Co workers, I grabbed one out of the first box to try why waiting for the girl to fill the rest of my order. Cold, refrigerator cold, they must have just taken them out of the walk in cooler! Took them to work anyways after they warmed up they tasted stale and hard. Usually my coworkers devour them I threw out 1 1\2 dozen won't be back.

We only go here cause we work down the street. I happened to be the guy who had to go get the donuts one day. I walked in and asked the guy behind the counter if they had any long twisty ones with cinnamon and sugar, he informed me they only had square ones, hence the name on the sign. So, I said just mix up 4 dozen of whatever and I will be on my way. Guess the guy didn't know that the cake donuts they had are round, ROUND! ! not f-ing square, hence the name ! Like I said, we only go here cause we work down the street and it's the only place to get a couple dozen donuts on the run. GEEEEEESSSHHHH

Why were my fresh donuts ice cold? It's not fresh if you freeze them. Seriously, they were colder then the air outside. Not one, not two...a whole freaking dozen. And that was after they rode in car for 15 minutes. What a joke.

We had heard wonderful things about Square Donuts, so this morning we packed the kids in the car and went to try the new Carmel location. The donuts themselves were pretty good, but not really anything different than I can get at the grocery store. The coffee was decent, too. But, there was only one employee with a good attitude, and he seemed to shout everything he said which was overwhelmingly loud for such a small space. One girl working there just stared at us from behind the counter with a sourpuss face and I wasn't sure if she was attempting to assist us or just giving us a scowl for some reason. A young man asked us how many donuts we thought we wanted, and amoungst 4 of us, we said, "Two for each of us". The first 2 of us ordered and he said "Is that it?" Even though 2 of us were still left. He asked again before the 4th person in our group ordered. He proceeded to literally STUFF the 8 donuts into a small bag. Every donut in the bag came out squished together, and there were not even papers separating each type of donut. Imagine the disgust from our young children when someone's pink icing got on their chocolate. The donuts are not baked on site, and there is no bakery type aroma like with other donut shops. My son needed to use the restroom, and they only have a small restroom behind the counter, no public restroom. The tables didn't have enough chairs, nor were they wiped down, and the floors were dirty. All in all, the donuts were not worth the experience. We won't be back.

I've been driving by this building for months curious, but never around when they're open. I finally had a chance to stop by last weekend. I ordered 4 square donuts which were basic, yeast glazed only square. They were delicious! Thick but fluffy and fresh tasting. My only complaint was that they weren't warm.

Today I made the mistake of driving 20 miles to check out these "square donuts". I arrived at the store on W. Washington Street at 10:0am on a Friday morning. I was greeted with a single chocolate cake donut and a handful of plain glazed yeast donuts in their display case. I asked if they had any others. I was told that was all they have left for the day. REALLY????? It's 10:00 in the morning on a FRIDAY, which should be one of your busier donut sales days! How do you not have enough donuts? Aren't you open until 2pm? What, pray tell, will you sell for the next 4 hours? The reason I went there was to find out if, in fact, Square Donuts are better than Indianapolis' beloved Longs Donuts. I drove to Long's after that and arrived about 10:40am and guess what? They had ALL flavors and types of donuts! I left with a few dozen. Longs was as awesome as always. Will I be back to give Square Donuts another chance? Um, no, why mess with perfection. I have all I need from Longs. Don't bother to waste your time at Square Donuts. Who wants to go to a donut place that has NO DONUTS! I guess it shouldn't matter...keep this up and you won't be around for much longer anyway.

This location was TURRIBLE!!! On National Doughnut day they were unprepared. The chain establishment apparently knew about the event, as the rude server mentioned I should go to their downtown location where they had specials for National Doughnut day. I went in the morning and they had already run out of doughnuts. They only had one type of doughnut left, and it looked extremely dry in the back corner of the display case. I feel that a specialty store should have been more prepared.

First visit, and all sold out! I went out of my way to try these donuts based on the reviews on Yelp. My visit consisted on having an employee stop me outside and say they were out of donuts, no apologies, no here's a card to come again and get a free donut. Something would be nice, would have given me the opportunity to check them out again. I will not. Thumbs down, way down on for customer service. Food quality.. ???

  • Robb B.

well, we went back this past weekend and it is as bad or worse than before. the whole floor is sticky, dirty and just plain nasty. the employees are rude and bathrooms are a disaster. ONCE AGAIN, THIS IS WHERE ALL THE DONUTS ARE MADE FOR CENTRAL INDIANA LOCATIONS. If you like Square Donuts, get them from another location so you can just assume they are made in a clean place. I can't describe in text how dirty the customer area, which doubles as a prep station for deliveries, is.

Finally, Square Donuts is opening stores outside of Terre Haute. These donuts are like Krispy Creme...but better. Their raised donuts are excellent and their jelly donuts are better than any others I've had...they don't skimp on the ingredients or the filling. I was told that they are in the process of opening additional stores around Indianapolis including one in Beech Grove, among others. They are also going to franchise their stores. It looks like a once-a-week trip from now on.

Some of the best donuts i've ever had. The pb&j donut is divine and it's hard to try something other than this perfect donut :) But the strawberry glazed is also delish! Indy is lucky to have you!

Donuts. They were good, but not fully square. I liken them to Krispy Kreme, but I'm not a donut expert. I bought a cake donut with a ton of pink icing. It was good! The staff was super nice! I would go back, but it's donuts and nothing mind blowing.

Stopped in to Square Donuts late morning on a Saturday. This is a true local doughnut shop, not a "DD" or "KK." If you want a stale doughnut at 8pm, try a chain store, but if you truly love fresh donuts, get your butt to Square Doughnuts and don't complain if they're selling fast. Fresh, soft doughnuts without preservatives don't last long on shelves! Yes, the selection was limited an hour before close, but the employees were cheerful and gave us a BOGO deal since they were boxing the remaining product for donation. The taste, quality, prices, and friendliness at Square Doughnuts are incomparable to the manufactured taste of a chain store. Even the regular prices were cheaper. This is exactly how a doughnut shop should be. Five stars!

Hopefully, they will place a sign soon so everyone will be aware of ALL the doughnuts offered here!
