Red Sake Asian Fusion Menu

I didn't really have high expectations for Red Sake upon entering when we were the only couple there for Friday lunch. Interior is impressive, but I don't let how nice an interior is dictate how good a meal will be. If you gave me a choice between a stand or a fancy restaurant, I'd choose the hole in the wall. Menu looks generic and this fusion thing doesn't work when you have Westernized Pho concoction and tempura udon. I understand fusion is the trend, but when you mix this and that, it's supposed to pair well. While we looked at the menu, some offensive "not fresh fish" odor wafted nearby - a total sushi turnoff. We ordered hot food instead like tempura udon which came with a side salad. It was probably the blandest salad I've ever had...overly mayonnaised with no salt. Did the chef forget to put soy sauce in there?! Tempura broth was the same...no fragrance of dashi, just overly sweet and tasteless. The dipping broth for tempura tasted peculiarly odd like they put a hint of Worchestershire sauce to make it their own. I'm still particularly bummed that the lunch menu stated $11 for a tempura udon and we got charged $12? Either you need to update the prices on your menu or stop scratching out old prices. Beverage prices were quite extravagant, although they do serve Flat 12. I'll take a venti at Starbucks for $5 rather than a $6 smoothie without alcohol. First time here, but we won't be back.

I was so pleasantly surprised as my mom and I walked to the entrance; the owner greeted us at the door and held it open for us to enter. We were greeted soon after being sat in a very nicely decorated room by our waitress. The cocktail menu has great saketinis! We ordered the appetizer Jalapeño Surprise...it was delicious. The Passion of Fire roll was better then the play boy roll at Naked chop stix. The Palm Spring roll was just ok..but fresh. I like flavor and it just wasn't very flavorful. I don't remember the names of the saketinis we had but one was like a lime pie! Over All I Will Be Back For more!

Has the potential for greatness but, yet for potential of failing quick. Don't ask me why. It's just a feeling. It's definitely needed in the area. The Sushi was some of the better sushi that we have found in Fishers. Having Pho on the menu is a plus as I am a fan of Pho. So as a Pho fan I ordered the Pho. Out of 10 places I have had Pho it falls in 9th. It beats the failed pho that I tried to make back in 08. I will have to go back a few times to see how they improve. I hope they make it. I don't need to lose a sushi place that is 15 minutes from my house.

Update: finally tried the pad thai and it is Excellent. Finally got hubby to try some sushi. He's tried 2 crab rolls (317 and yum yum) and says he'll definitely order both again. Last week he had the new Jalepeno roll and really enjoyed it too. I could see lots of seeds so I know it was plenty hot! I trust the cream cheese helped to balance it.

Love this place! Great selection of drinks and sushi...and both taste great. VIP roll is excellent as well as the Tsunami and Waterfall. Staff are friendly and helpful. They usually have several sushi specials, so there's always something new to try.

Loved it. Amazing sushi. My girlfriend and I visited on a snowy Monday night. There was one other table when we arrived and we were the only people in the place when we left. Perfect conditions to see what they are made of. Our server was a cute young, what I assume to be, high school student. She did just OK. I believe she was pre occupied with "closing tasks," and it was possibly her first serving gig. We ordered our usual 5 rolls and hot sake. We were forgotten for the sake but it came quickly after I asked. When the sushi arrived it looked delicious but a bit small. However, once we dug in the taste immediately over shadowed any dismay. I can confidently say it was some of the best sushi I have had in Indiana. Waterfall roll and playboy roll were amazing. The presentation was also great. We will be back.

Read about this place awhile ago and was excited to finally get to check it out! It was near empty at roughly 7pm on a Tuesday night. We were greeted upon arrival and quickly seated. We perused the drink menu and I opted for the Aroma Coma which was a saketini made with coconut sake. It was surprisingly tart, but I liked it. I also took a sip of my friend's mango and I was glad I ordered what I got. My other friend ordered the lemongrass vodka drink and I thought that was good too! We started with the Cado Green which is tempura fried avocado on a bed of crab meat. It was so good! I could have eaten the whole plate by myself! I chose the crunch roll and mardi gras roll and my friends also ordered some rolls. They mostly came out on the same plate so the waitress let us know which was which and we dug in. I thought they were good, the mardi gras had some kick and I failed to ask what the two sauces were on it, so my guess was obviously one was spicy, just a heads up! The crunch roll was great, but I felt like they could have been a bit warmer, they were almost cold. No room for dessert, but they have a lot of roll choices and had some specials up on a chalkboard that we almost missed if one of my friends hadn't noticed it and she ordered off of that once she read it. I would go back and try some other rolls!

My fiancé and I absolutely love red sake. Our favorite roll is the crunch roll, and we love the gyoza appetizer. The owner is very personable and nice. Service has greatly improved from when they first opened. Overall a lovely place to get a wide variety of sushi with a great environment and decor.

I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here. The lemon drop saketini is great. The loss of the fifth star is the painfully slow kitchen.

I think these folks are dealing with serious start-up jitters. We had dinner here on Sunday 11/24 and it was OK but just OK. It looks like they are setting themselves up to focus on high end entrees but they need to convince their customers they can do the basics first. My miso soup was good. My cucumber vinaigrette salad was very good. My crab roll in cucumber wrap was not bad. My wife had shrimp pad Thai and the shrimp were over cooked. The noodles and the sauce were good but a bit too highly seasoned for my wife. We will give them a few more weeks to overcome their startup pains before we give up on them.

Ordered the rainbow roll. The waiter knew nothing about Sushi, the tea was lukewarm, the rice watery, and the fish wasn't fresh.

I had been to red sake when it first opened and it wasn't the best experience/food. I went back today for lunch with my parents to give it another try and I was delightfully surprised. A young girl waited on us and she was very friendly. My parents both got the bento box and I ordered a couple of rolls (317 and sunburn). Both of my rolls were plated well and tasted even better. Both of my parents enjoyed their bento boxes, which were a great size. I know I will definitely be back.

Mediocre at best. Many slips throughout our dining experience. First of all the edamame was served with sugar sprinkled on top instead of salt. It was corrected but served with way too much salt and in a puddle of water. The owner did salvage it by taking it off of our bill. I ordered sushi- the waterfall sushi was excellent. My husband ordered Mongolian beef. This dish fell flat as the beef looked like it was par boiled instead off stir fried at a high heat. The meat did not get seared. Stick with the sushi if you come here to eat.

The food was fantastic! We had the lunch specials, kamikaze and ninja. The chicken skewers were tender and the sauce was delicious. The gyoza was the best part of the meal. I can't place the flavor that they had but you could tell they were fresh and the sauce was perfect. We did not have any of the more extravagant rolls but the california roll was fresh and made well. Definitely will be coming back to try more!

Maki is a roll. Not a sushi or sashimi. If you are looking for a nice sushi, I recommend Wasabi or Sakura.

We ordered take out, so I cannot comment much on wait staff but the girl who took our order over the phone did not know anything about their menu. She couldn't pronounce the items we ordered and she missed an entire entrée on our order despite having her read the order back. Of course we didn't notice until we were all the way home so we had to drive back to pick up the missing item. When we went back to pick up the missing item we had the pleasure of witnessing 3 wait staff in a verbal argument right near the hostess stand. They were very unprofessional. The pad thai was dry and bland, same for the bulgogi. We did try some sushi that was tasty though. Overall we probably won't be frequenting here.

We were impressed. We've driven by several times, but finally decided to go. We were skeptical given the reviews, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The wine list is minimal, but adequate for dining. We had the calamari for an appetizer and wished there had been more. My new favorite roll is the Sunset. We also had the Mango Tango and the Texas (which wasn't as spicy as expected). Great food! Ask for Flori as your server and you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I visited on Saturday night Feb 15 @ 6:00pm before going to the movies. Service was very slow and it wasnt crowded. We received our drink order in about 15 minutes. The staff was hustling and seemed unorganized. The place started filling up and the new patrons were getting restless. We received our food in 40 minutes. Wifes shrimp tempura she said was good. I ordered the simple sishimi plate of 12 pieces. 3 varieties of four each. Really! Super white tuna, shrimp and red snapper. I was dissapointed. service continued down hill. We left at 7:20pm and glad we did. We felt bad for everyone there waiting for food and to be seated. They had no idea what was in store for there evening. Will stop back for second chance to check out the lunch menu.

My husband and I were in last night & the food was outstanding. Working through typical start up challenges but the owners "get it" & we're appreciative they have opened in our neighborhood-we'll definitely be back & often...

Really enjoyed the meal. Had Lemon drop and peach sake tibia. Very delicious. Ate the waterfall, 317 and nitro rolls. Very yummy. Edamame was fresh and so was the tuna and salmon nigiri. Will be back to try the Purdue, passion of the fire and crunch rolls! Lovely place in Geist. Service was great. Even have outdoor seating. We sat in the bar. Reasonable prices.

After reading good reviews here and hearing good things from a friend of my wife I thought we should give Red Sake try. We ordered a couple of apps and rolls. The menu items seemed interesting and promising but sadly the flavors were bland and the most fundamental part of rolls, the rice of all things, was just mushy. The lettuce wraps with little chicken pellets were bland and combined at least half puffy rice type noodles and no sauces to go with wraps. With out a doubt, the worst sushi establishment I've ever been to.

My buddy lives near Geist and we both love sushi.. With that being said, I am very picky about where I go to eat it. We meet for lunch about once month at our norm, One World Market near castleton which I think is the best!! We decided to try something nearby and consulted yelp. Red Sake Asian Fusion popped up only 2 minutes away. Wow, I'm impressed! Nice quaint little restaurant tucked away in a little strip mall... Lunch special!! Take a look at the picture, this is what you get for around $60 at lunchtime... Simple sushi that is made fresh. Can't beat it!! They do have nigiri, sashimi, etc... Awesome!! Now we don't have to fight the traffic and hassle of the castleton area !!

Definitely the best sushi in the area. Each roll is made to order and tastes very fresh. I had the Waterfall, Crunch, and the Nitro and loved them all. If you like pho, the pho here is phenomenal. I also recommend the kimchi fried rice and the chicken teriyaki. The service we had was great. Our waitress was nice and attentive and you could tell that she had experience. The restaurant also has a full bar with a great range of authentic sake as well. Overall, I loved my experience and will definitely be coming back for more.

Our experience at Red Saki was less than desirable. Kennedy was our server and although she was very kind, she forgot silverware and sake cups. We ordered the fruit sake flight and was impressed with the raspberry and apple flavors but felt the price was expensive at $12 for 3 two ounce cups. For food we ordered the General Tso's which was thebomb.com ! They batter the chicken lightly in tempura and the sauce was sweet and spicy. We also got the Shamrock roll which looked very cool in its bright green glory but tasted sour and the meat was room temperature not cool or warm as I expected. I expressed my distaste of the sushi entree to our server after only eating 1 piece but she failed to remove it from our bill. Overall, I enjoyed the sake flavors but would not recommend the sushi and felt the overall cost far exceeded my experience. There is a Naked Chopstix on 96th street just before I-69, about 5 miles away, that is worlds better.

First time here. Ordered take out sushi and fried rice. They don't have a caterpillar roll on the menu but when I asked the waitress about it, they were more than accommodating and made an excellent caterpillar. Their fried rice isn't like any other rice I've had (I eat rice A LOT) and I love it. They have a Godzilla roll challenge that I need to try. Love spicy food. I know I could do it. Finally found a great sushi place, close to home, affordable. Going back soon for sure!
