We received good service from Alicia B. Unfortunately, the food was awful. The lobster was tough, and what did they fry that calamari and overcooked vegetables in? I question if the butter had any butter component at all. Disgusting.

What started out as a good experience came to a screeching halt when we were forgotten about by our waitress. The food was good however they were out of our appitizer and offered no substitute. When we were finished we waited close to 15 min and 5 or more passes by our waitress before we could get her attention for our check and a take home box. Loved our waitress to deth until she forgot us. Unfortunatly this isn't the first time we have had this problem at this particular location.

We've never had a bad meal here, honestly. It is what it is: a Red Lobster. We were just in for "Shrimp Fest," and had a very friendly, efficient server. While she biffed my choice of shrimp, she recognized her own error immediately and rectified it nearly instantaneously. I can't fault that. The restaurant was clean, we were seated promptly, and our food was all good. No complaints . My "A-OK" is a thumbs up with a smile, not a "meh, it was OK." But it's just Red Lobster, so I can't go quite to "I'm a fan!" 3.5 stars. whatsoever

Went with a friend on a busy Friday night, was a long wait for seating, but luckily we were able to find 2 bar stool and stayed put there for the night's dinner. Had a great meal, the food was all very tasty. Seems the cooks have really improved in this location. Unfortunately though the service was poor to average at best. Even sitting at the bar, with 2+ bar keeps there, our drinks still went dry several times, the appetizers took forever to get to us, and those all so yummy biscuits seemed like they would never arrive quick enough. The other customers sitting at the bar made excellent conversation, as my friend and I were in a social mood that evening, so this helped pass the time, as we all sat waiting and wondering when our next dish or refill would arrive. And it wasn't the busy night that was to blame, as when 2 bartenders are standing in front of you, and you have empty drinks, that is no excuse. Overall, excellent food that night, but poor service, and long wait times.

Went with a friend who insisted! I get to the door there's a drunken bum sitting on the bench begging for money! What a turn off! I mentioned it to the manager inside I had a drink I'm done. The place looks and smells rank!

It's an ok place...it is a Red Lobster... This is one of the few restaurants near the hotel that I am staying at for several weeks. I went in last week...and it's just very typical food wise. My one complaint would probably by the service. The guy was ok but I think he went on a break during service - without a replacement - and seemed to be very interested in some of the other customers, even if he wasn't serving them.

I stopped here very early on a Friday evening to meet a prospective employee - this was her choice for a place to meet in the Shadeland Ave area and it worked our fairly well. The all you can eat shrimp special was in progress and at 5 pm there was already a wait for seating. Service was adequate--server very friendly and attentive, but had a lot going on due to the number of tables she was handling. The scampi and wasabi shrimp were small but well seasoned - what one expects at Red Lobster--a good value, especially with the cheddar biscuits and sides. The server encouraged seconds, kept glasses filled, did not rush us out the door, etc. --- a pleasant way to combine work with food.

I come here about once a month. My daughter absolutely loves the crab. I myself don't really like seafood but will eat shrimp. Each time we come here the service is fine. Depending on the crowd we are seated in relatively quick fashion. The waitresses are decent as long as there isn't a crowd which can be tricky for any wait staff. The food is not bad but tends to be as expected. The cheese rolls are scrumptious. For what you get I wish the prices were a little less. But I don't mind spending a few extra dollars to make my daughter happy.

It was my first time at a Red Lobster of any kind, and I have to say that I enjoyed it. The prices were great, and the food was pretty good. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it was nice eating some lobster at a good price, as I'm sure not everyone does that often considering how expensive it can get. The facility itself was in pretty good condition and pretty clean. The servers were polite and friendly, and our waitress in particular (Kate) was incredibly nice and friendly. Overall, while not the best food in the world, for the price, it was pretty decent. The biscuits are highly regarded, and with good reason - they were delicious. Service was great and we had a great time. Definitely want to come back here sometime.

I wasn't a Red Lobster fan to begin with but my wife is so we gave it another try. Closest RL is on Shadeland. A big mistake. The service was so so but the food was awful, cold Mac & Cheese, fish and chips were blah and salad was not good. Manager comped the cold food but all in all, not a good experience.

The service has always been very good and the place has a very nice atmosphere. There is always plenty of parking and they keep your beverages full. Also the cheddar biscuits are good although they can be a bit dry at times. The soups and salads are also very good. Now for the negative items: The prices are way too high considering the average and mediocre quality of the food. The food is inconsistent. It will be hot one time and lukewarm the next time. Anyone who has ever been to an East coast restaurant on the Chesapeake bay in Maryland will find the food just plain bad! I have also eaten at restaurants in North Chicago on Lake Michigan and the food here just does not hold a candle to either location. I ordered a fresh "Maine" lobster from the tank and it was dry and rubbery. It also was a Canadian lobster and it did not come from Maine. They may be the same species but where they live changes how they taste. Another time my wife ordered a NY strip steak with lobster meat and what she got was not good. It was not a NY strip at all. It possibly could have been top round made to look like NY or maybe a chuck roast. It had just a few little bits of lobster that tasted like they came from a can. It also was sitting in a swimming pool of trans fat laden margarine. Way too tough to be NY. If they dropped their prices by 25-30% then the food would be no problem. I am only speaking of the Shadeland Ave location and not any other. The food seems better at the Castleton location for some reason.

You know, I used to be a Red Lobster snob -- I remember eating fried shrimp there when I was a kid -- but now I have to admit that for the kind of restaurant it is, it's really not bad. The salad is always fresh, and the dressing tasty (though they tend to pour it on -- always get it on the side). The garlic biscuits are kind of addictive.I am not a big fan of shellfish, so I haven't had the gargantuan "feasts" they advertise, but from looking at what friends have ordered, it looks about like what you would expect. The fresh fish selections, though, are surprisingly tasty. The side vegetables, on the other hand, are always awful -- horribly overcooked. I've always experienced good service, and this week's visit was no exception. The interior of every Red Lobster, though, is tired tired tired. I suppose that's part of its "charm."
