Though I am very serious about tea I enjoy good coffee and many of my friends and family are very serious about coffee. So, I believe I know and value a good cup. I was in Quill this morning with a friend and my daughter and after finishing my Cappuccino I set down the cup and spontaneously exclaimed, "Splendid coffee." I can't remember ever doing that before. And my friend, a life long coffee lover said of hers, "Was that decaf? GOOD coffee!" Both cups had rich flavor and were done to perfection. We also enjoyed their croissant and a chocolate croissant. This lovely open space was tidy, clean and under utilized. I can not imagine it will remain so empty when it is more discovered. I hope to be able to become a regular when in the area. The baristas, Ross and Phil, were very pleasant and friendly. There are small conference rooms if you want to have a small meeting here. It looks like parking nearby will not be difficult. I was told they validate for building parking as well. All this a few steps above Canal Walk. Terrific find.

Ok I tried two places in Indy. Quills I will take over Bee's. However both are good. I ordered my usual here at Quills which has a better atmosphere and relieved a pretty Cortado but upon tasting I was shocked at the horrible chemical taste. I complained and they remade an excellent one. Sometimes I guess those machines spit out a bad one I guess. But since the redo was excellent I give them high marks

I had Quill's coffee for the first time on Thursday. I have really wanted to try this place because of all the amazing reviews and it is hard to find a really nice coffee place (That isn't Starbucks or Caribou) in Indy. I tried the Cafe Miel (12oz) since I got there closer to closing time then I would've liked. I have to say I wasn't very impressed. It tasted okay, but it didn't have a good enough flavor to be memorable. I feel like I could make something just as good in my kitchen, which isn't a good thing because that's the reason I love coffee shops--to try something I can't make at home. The coffee art on top was cute, and it was a nice flair to the cup. The guy who took my order and made the coffee was really nice and friendly. He wasn't bothered at all when I asked him what was in certain drinks because they don't have all the ingredients listed under each coffee. The seating area was nice and quiet. It had a good vibe and wasn't loud. Overall, I wasn't very impressed by the drink I got at this shop, but I figure I will give it another try some other time.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. If you were looking for the utmost in coffee experiences in Indianapolis look no further. Quills coffee is the pinnacle of coffee drinking and artistry. Their staff takes care to select the right roast for each patron and deliver it brewed in the most fitting style. There's no such thing as a regular cup of Joe here. Close to the other attractions along Indianapolis's canal, Quills is a must.

Not only is the coffee awesome, but it's a great place to chill out and work too. Service is always good and you can tell the people that work there are passionate about what they do.

Had the "Cafè Miele" and a Cappuccino. Love the atmosphere, beverage menu, quality, service, and cafè art. 10/10. Will be a return customer.

There are two reasons I did not give quills the full five stars. The first is because the gentleman working the register was far less than friendly. The second is because the parking situation is kind of a pain-a parking garage chiefly for the apartment complex in which it is housed with no validation from the coffee shop. However I may soon need to update my star rating because our barista, Ross, was so friendly, outgoing, and welcoming, that he more than made up for the unpleasantness of his coworker. He took his time to craft a delicious soy concoction for me, truly one of the best I've ever had. Further, he informed me that they were hoping to get validation for the customers in the near future. I have to say Ross certainly was the reason my experience was so pleasant and ensured I would be a repeat customer.

I understand the prices may be a bit steep for the average coffee drinker but this gem of a coffee shop is playing its part in refining the coffee experience. Their drinks are unique and carefully crafted. I am a big fan of "the alchemist," which has cayenne as one of its ingredients. It adds a wonderful kick to an overall sweet coffee drink. The study spaces are a great find and I am looking forward to becoming a regular here.

Picked up a few cups of Quill drip and a Chai Latte for our canal walk. Very nice and great service.

Great location right off of the Canal. I had the Alchemist - delicious! Lots of seating plus lounge areas. The only thing I wish they had was more options for a snack to go along with the drinks. Super friendly staff and loved the vibe from everyone else who was in there.

Finally a coffee shop in Indiana which knows how to make good cafe latte and cappuccino. Wonderful tasting, good nice froth, and nice latte art. The place is very spacious, with enough seating place. Surprisingly it was not crowded. I am guessing its still new. I am sure it will be crowded in coming days. Will definitely come here again and again.

I've been going here regularly twice a week for a month. I know enough about good coffee to write dangerous reviews. The first thing I noticed was they know exactly what their doing. When they're not making orders these guys are experimenting on different coffees and brewing techniques. They're obsessed. They have every major brewing method under their belt and can offer whatever method your heart desires. Whether that's chemex, v60, areopress, or clever brew, they have it and know it inside and out. Their roastery is based in Kentucky and the beans are always within a week fresh and never later. They roast well before the second crack of the bean allowing for optimal flavor awesomeness. There's a lot of roasters in Indy, but no one does it correctly. They either burn them, aren't consistent enough, or don't know what they're doing period. Quills uses fantastic farms from all over the world and enough varity for any flavor preference. Lastly, they are fantastic baristas. They will never serve a drink that hasn't been consistently weighed, timed, and poured. I've seen them every once in a while make a latte of some sort, look at it, and throw it out because it didn't meet they're standards. This is the best coffee in Indy and I'll argue that all day long.
