I'd had Potbelly before and liked it when I lived in Houston, so I was pleasantly surprised when I received their menu in the mail. And they even deliver! So I ordered up a pizza sub and a turkey blt, and used the half price milkshake coupon in the flyer to get a mixed berry smoothie. I excitedly waited for my lunch to be delivered. And waited. And waited. And waited some more. I finally received my food a FULL HOUR LATER! And surprise, surprise-my pizza sub was soggy and gross. It might have been pretty good if it had made it to me within a half hour. My wife's turkey blt wasn't as soggy, but had some gross spots. The bacon was really quality, though. The smoothie was the best part of the meal, and somehow wasn't melted too badly. I really hoped to have a good sandwich delivery alternative to Jimmy John's, but unfortunately Potbelly isn't going to be it.

Whenever I miss Chicago I come here for lunch. Some of my favorite items are the Wreck and the Chickpea Salad. I just love a toasty sandwich and these are terrific. The bread crisps just a little at the edges. And don't forget to have them add the giardiniera. This condiment is a staple in Chicago and so under represented in Indianapolis. They have outside seating but why bother when you are across the street from the Monument. Get your stuff to go and enjoy the comfy Limestone steps for lunch. Always something to see around there.

Fantastic sandwich. Had the Italian, high quality ingredients. Hot peppers are a must. Cool spot to boot.

I love this place! I always order the Italian with extra hot peppers. I'm not sure what they put in the peppers or the juice but it is fantastic, with great flavor!

First time to Indy, after checking out the reviews I picked this place-so glad I did! First off, not being from here I didn't realize it was in such a picturesque setting. Very cool to eat lunch and look out on the monument. I ordered the Italian on the mutli-grain wheat with mustard, hot peppers, lettuce, onion, tomato and pickles. I came in a bit late for lunch, so no waiting to place order and was completed faster than any 'fast food' restaurant experience I can recall. The multi grain wheat is fantastic. While the sandwich is a bit smaller then say a footlong at Subway-it was about the perfect size for me (a big guy). Also, they have Zapp's chips in several different flavors-one of the best tasting chips there is. Fantastic sandwich, cool decorum and scenic views-excellent!

Potbelly is a great place to get a gourmet sandwich. I'm a big fan of the food and atmosphere. There is limited seating so it can get difficult when you are with more than a few people, but I have not had a disappointing sandwich yet!

Great food, but delivery was poor. Bag had ripped, and various juices and sauces had dripped all over the inside.

Potbelly delivers downtown and that is so handy. There are surprisingly few places in Indy that will bring lunch to your place of employment. I was on a once-a-week Potbelly run for a while. The first few times were fine, but it quickly went down hill. Delayed deliveries, missing salad dressings, wrong sandwich toppings, bread soaked with with hot pepper oil, forgotten side dishes and always being out of those damn irresistible sugar cookies started to take it's toll with me and the rest of the office. Finally, the last straw came when my chicken salad sandwich arrived with no chicken salad on it. I'm not even kidding. I took a month or so off when I was treating a co-worker to lunch and she wanted Potbelly. I think everything with the order came as requested, but the quality just wasn't there. It could have been my attitude, but I didn't enjoy it at all. In their defense, Potbelly have always offered to make it right. A refund. A free lunch. Whatever, but there comes a time when I just want my lunch. I want it to arrive quickly and taste delicious. Even if I have to pay for it. As far the sugar cookies, they are amazing. They are huge and wonderful and I want to marry them. Something in them gives me a sad tummy, though. (I can narrow it down to the cookies because there were times when I just had a cookie.) They're so good, though, it's totally worth having to take poop at work. That's saying something right there. ETA: The owner did reach out to me after this review. I bumped them up to 3 stars based on how willing they are to correct errors. For the record, I won't accept offers made due to poor reviews. To me, it questions my integrity.

I loved my Mediterranean with chicken and my IBC root beer :-) They also have Zapp's chips which are ah-mazing! Much better than your standard Subway sandwich but at a super reasonable price.

So hungry. Must have food. Now. That is the typical situation I find myself in when I walk in to Potbelly on the Circle. Walked in tonight and thought I had walked into a rock concert by mistake. Maybe I am getting old (shut up, Neal!) but man....can you turn the music down a little? It was cranked to 11 and the workers were shouting to each other so they could hear over the nondescript alt-rock song that was playing. I get it. Music is cool. I *like* music...I just don't want to have to shout over it to order a sandwich. They sometimes have live music at lunch time. Live music is cool. I love live music. I don't love it if I am trying to talk to someone sitting across the table from me at lunch and we can't hear each other because of said music. To sum it up - I like music, but not loud music when I'm trying to order food or eating food and trying to talk to someone.

I am originally from Chicago and when I learned that there was a pot belly's coming to Indy I was absolutely excited. I think the first week it opened I was there 5 times. I love the sandwiches and the hot peppers on them. I recommend the Pizza Sandwich with extra sauce. My only complaint is that I can't make it there often enough. I love how they do their salads too. One day I went in so that I could grab a salad to take to work the next day. It was packaged so well that the next day I had an amazingly delicious and crisp salad for lunch. I just wish I could get a salad from them everyday too.

Im hooked on their Broccoli Cheddar soup, Spicy Black bean soup, and Buffalo Chicken sandwich with Ranch. It's a no brainer when I need a good pick me up meal downtown on my lunch break. Or if Im looking to nurse a Hangover...(lets be honest) this is my favorite spot to grab a cure! I also like to see Chuck the owner behind the counter doing hands on work with his employees and if you haven't met him hes the nicest guy around. I will definitely be returning here.

For a chain this is fantastic. If you come in during lunch hour they have someone at the door taking orders in line so that by the time you're up front the sandwich is made and ready to be dressed. The hot peppers are amazing, but watch out, they mean hot. The price on the sandwiches are pretty good as well. This will be a regular place when I need a really quick lunch. One more interesting point. During lunch they usually have live music. Crazy right?

I feel like everytime I gp to Potbelly I am going to a different place, and in this case it is not a good thing. I have been four times, twice orering the same thing and both times it was different. This pati cular visit I tried a salad and it was nothing like the description and I ordered as is. The space for the people to work in is rather croweded and the line was long so the workers seemed to complaun a great deal. I had to wait to be waited on because of a confrontation between a manager and an employee. This should have never happened during the lunch rush. With that being said, depsite my salad not being what I actually ordered, it was fairly good. It is doubful that I will go back anytime soon.

Looking for a lunch spot while walking downtown Indy and wanted something light, good, and a sandwich. This fit the bill perfect. Decent fresh sub's, nice decor, clean, fast, and good service. I got the wreck on wheat with mayo, lettuce, Italian seasoning, and potbelly vinaigrette. The sandwich wasn't as big as I've received at other sub's places, but it was just enough to fill me up. I really enjoyed it, and really enjoyed the potbelly vinaigrette. I gave it 4 stars because they don't have sweet tea just unsweetened. They need sweat tea :-)

I've had a crush on Potbelly since one graced the streets of my undergrad town of Madison, WI. Sure, I had been to Potbelly before, but the one on State Street set me up for a life of longing for a toasty turkey sandwich, Italian sub or a freshly made milkshake. Thus, it shouldn't come as a surprise that when I found myself in Indy, hankering for a meal mid-afternoon on a hot-as-hell day, Potbelly was a welcome respite. And this particular location doesn't disappoint! -Friendly employees -Conveniently located in Monument Circle -Outdoor seating (it was so hot outside thus no one was on the patio) -Clean resto -Nice variety of chips -Sandwich calorie info on the ordering board (both helpful and mind-crushing) My crush on Potbelly continues...now I have a boo in Indy.

Awesome sandwich, made super quick, and for a great price. Not necessarily that filling but for the price, you could really buy two. Restaurant also has a cool ambience.

Yes, it's a chain, but the food is actually good. I really like the Mediterranean sandwich with zippy hummus, artichoke hearts, cucumber, and roasted red peppers.

Yum! The Wreck sandwich is amazing, the regular bread was really fresh even at the end of the day. They have friendly staff, they are quick and their prices are very reasonable.

Most delicious subs in downtown Indianapolis! I probably get delivery 2-3 times a month to my school nearby. Always good and never disappoints!

I stopped by here on a recent weekend trip for what I anticipated to be a quick lunch. However, I didn't expect to be greeted by a 3-piece bluegrass band offering live music as well. And they were really good! Usually if you get live music at a restaurant it can be loud and annoying. I sat and watched those guys a good 15 minutes after I was done eating. I would've stayed longer but the crowd was picking up and felt I should offer up my table to someone else wanting to eat their lunch. Now let's get on to the sandwich. I had a meatball with mushrooms, bacon, and hot peppers. Perfection. Sweet, savory, and spicy. Make sure you try the VooDoo kettle chips. It was like a mixture of barbecue and salt 'n vinegar. Very good!

You know - I think to myself that I'd like something good and warm and maybe a cup of soup for a Friday afternoon. After a little thinking I decide to go to Potbelly's. I get there and there is of course a line out the door and one of the employees comes up to me with an iPad as soon as I get inside and says he'll take my order. "I'm not ready yet - I can't even see the board." He says it's ok and to take my time - as he stands right next to me looking at me expectantly. Ok I decide to get the cheddar chicken sandwich and ask him what types of soup they have - he tells me they have a black bean - and then pauses so long before he says tomato that I think that they also have a tomato soup. Wow. Was I excited! I get up to the counter and the order hadn't gone through on the iPad - they didn't have my sandwich order and when I get to the check out, there is a cup of black bean which I look at and say that's not what I ordered, they sayd there was tomato. The guy tells me that it happens all the time and that he could just remove it from my order. By this time, my sandwhich is lost and all I have is this soup! So - as I am trying to find a place to sit they run my sandwich out to me and I sit down...the soup has NO flavor and the sandwich (chicken cheddar) had that chicken gristle all through it. All this for $10.00. I could have gotten a better meal had I gone elsewhere. Awesome, yes? No. Not at all.

My beloved City Market was empty, and so I headed west for dinner (mid-shift "lunch"). Potbelly sandwiches are not culinary revelations, but they are tasty and, well, cheap! It was something like $4.70 for the standard size "A Wreck", fully loaded with lettuce and tomato and peppers and onion & c. Having been Goosed, I cannot begin to get excited about the actual meats/cheeses (salami roast beef turkey ham swiss), but I can assert that they (and the flakey toasted bread) are far superior to the likes of, say, Subway. And Subway represents competition at the price point, soooo...gotta dig it.

Having gone to school within walking distance of the original Potbelly's in Chicago (LPHS class of '89 shout out!) I was excited to hear that my favorite sandwich shop was opening here in Indy. I don't usually like cold-cut sandwiches, which is one of the reasons why I always loved making the trip down Lincoln Ave. The toasted subs were always warm with soft bread on the inside, and a perfect little crunch on the outside. I was not disappointed with my trip downtown to check out my old fave. The Italian was just as tasty as I remembered, and the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was a perfect finish to the lunch. Hopefully, success in downtown will lead to other locations opening closer to home.

To me, this Potbelly is much more than a quick lunch spot. The staff is SUPER friendly - warm and toasty (just like their sandwiches). You can tell the employees get along well, as each time I come in, I get that friendly fun vibe from behind the counter. There's a reason world-renowned chefs like Grant Achatz speak so highly of Potbelly. Quality with convenience. Since I've moved from NYC to Indianapolis, I've had a difficult time finding that combination. I really love the TKY with hot peppers. And am always so surprised at the value. Especially for such quality meat and vegetables. Where else can you go for $3 or $4 dollars to get such a quality sandwich? This location also has outdoor seating -- and occasional live music. And lunch-goers do not fret - the line usually takes less than 5 minutes.

I am native to Chicago so to find a Potbelly here made the wife and me really happy. Unlike the 2 star reviewer, I actually feel as though this lived up to the chicago hype. I was interested to learn that the reason Indy doesn't have the "bigs" and a few other things is that the upper-ups make sure the location can hack the normal stuff before letting them do all the upgrades. Well, suffice to say, I totally expect the menu to expand a bit here in indy pretty soon because I feel as though they did a great job. I pick potbelly over JimmyJohns and Subway any day. Parking can be a bear, but it is totally worth it. The bathroom is through the emergency exit though, which is a little strange. If you have yet to go to a Potbelly and you like sandwiches, then you owe it to yourself to swing by the circle and get your Potbelly on.... get a cookie to finish off your meal, its worth it.

Potbelly's beats Jimmy John's hands down... Toasted goodness. As a Chicago transplant to Indianapolis, I was thrilled to learn of the new Potbelly opening on Monument Circle. A visit on opening day was planned, and I wasn't disappointed! The menu isn't as extensive as it is in Chicago, but rather about where it was when they were just becoming popular in Chicago. Nonetheless, all of the standbys are there -- not the least of which is the fantastic Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies for $1.15. Completely worth it. My favorite sandwich there is the Italian, served on wheat, with lettuce, onion, tomato, oil, and italian seasoning. Just typing it out makes me want to go get one right now. Another classic standby is the Wreck. Their brown mustard tastes great on it, and their peppers are liked by many... I'm just not a 'peppers' kind of guy. Their service was great, especially considering it was their first day open with lots of 'rookies' behind their counter. I'm excited for Potbelly to catch on and open a few more locations around Indy!

i have completely given up on potbelly's... the salon i work at we used to order 3 or 4 days a week now.....nada dont bother its impossible. delayed deliveries, put on phone hold for all eternity, you have to explain and repeat yourself numerous times... and its a shame because the salad is really good but the attitude and ineptness of the people working phones is prohibitive for ordering... just call jimmy johns and be done with it....skip

I am FOR SURE going back AGAIN! The food is AWESOME!!! Love the little quaint places like this! Don't even compare it to Subway or ANY other place!! Love the owners too...especially the Son....GO NOTRE DAME! Friendly, clean and feeling like home kind of place! Thank you.

Potbelly's is yummy! I always get the vegetarian with mayonnaise and pickle and it's a good choice. Sometimes it can be crowded , but at least your sandwich will be tasting great. The workers can be rude and act like they don't want to be there. Overall though you should give it a try!

This is, hands down, the best place for a sandwich in Indy!! I first experienced Potbelly's in West Lafayette, where I fell in love with the hot peppers and *toasted to perfection* bread. Today I still go for the hot peppers (cant go wrong with any sandwich but I'll take the Italian on white bread, please) but have also fallen in love with the chocolate milk shakes and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. The staff in Indy is friendly and does an incredible job of helping you to get the most out of your lunch break... I am always pleasantly surprised with my short wait, despite the number of other hungry customers in line. Bonus points for having calorie counts on the menu and more than your standard Lays potato chips. Extra bonus points for supporting local musicians- makes lunch hour feel a little more like happy hour in Indianapolis.

I have a SHAMEFUL addiction to Potbelly's veggie sandwiches. I confess that I was not just a little bit excited when I heard this Chicago-based chain was landing on Monument Circle. Like I said: shameful. Tasty, delicious shame. I can't explain it. The place is decorated in country kitsch, the workers are suspiciously friendly and there is nothing obviously special about the veggie sandwich. But I even confess to kind of enjoying when the guy playing acoustic guitar there did a rendition of a Green Day song. I know, I know -- SELLOUT! My 16-year-old punk rock self would kick me in the ankles with her steel-toed Doc Marten boots. Admitting to liking a chain restaurant and a Green Day song?! What has become of you?!

Potbelly's is great! I come here whenever I'm in the mood for a sandwich... much better than competitors like Subway or Jimmy John's. The bread is so delicious, I think that's what I like the best about it. When I'm feeling like a splurge I'll get a cookie too because they are so amazing. You really can't go wrong with what you order here, I usually get something with a lot of fresh veggies, delicious. If you're in the area, I highly suggest you try this place out, you'll fall in love just like I did. My whole family agrees!

  • Chris M.

Meh... Don't get me wrong, this place is "A-Ok" but it doesn't really seem that much different to me than a Quiznos or Jimmy John's. I'm probably spoiled by sandwiches from a little place near 25th and Delaware. I popped in today to see what the hype was all about. It was fairly early and this place was busy! Some dude took my basic order on a tablet thing. Then i was able to add some toppings at the counter. I had the Italian with hot peppers. It was a decent hot sandwich. The peppers were the best part, but the whole thing didn't dance on my palette like other sandwiches from other places have. I'll have to try some of the other offerings at some point when I am in the area and do a follow up review.

The best sandwiches I've ever eaten! I don't think I'll go to any other sandwich shop in Indy from now on. You must ask about their underground menu! My favorite is the "Fireball," the meatball sandwich topped with their house chili and cheddar cheese. The sandwich is AMAZING! Also, these guys just started delivering! They are super fast, and also do large catering orders.

this is one of those places where the 3-star "A-OK" description seems to be a perfect fit. perhaps the reason i only think of Potbelly as OK is that it just didn't quite live up to the hype. decent sandwiches. decent crusty bread - i generally opt for the multi-grain. good variety of toppings. decent cookies and other desserts (they have a pretty good dessert bar that i have tried but wouldn't rave about). staff is decently friendly, and they try to move the long and busy lunch-crowd lines through at a quick pace. i find that the sandwiches taste better with extra cheese on them - unfortunately, asking for extra cheese will cost you. although they do toast their bread and have fresher toppings, it is pretty comparable to jimmy john's and quizno's. i think potbelly comes out ahead in a head-to-head competition with jimmy john's, quizno's, and subway - however, despite winning, i wouldn't run to potbelly with any amount of excitement. if i need a quick and cheap sandwich, this is a fine place to hit up.

UPDATE: The last few times I came here, they have new staff and the service is cold and unenthusiastic. Also, the sandwich maker messed up the grilled cheese sandwich. How could that be possible? ORIGINAL REVIEW: I am so thrilled Potbelly has finally arrived in Indianapolis. Delicious warm toasty bread - the sandwiches are far more superior than other sandwiches from the chain chops. My family is big fan of Potbelly. We rely so much on Potbelly when we travel in the US, we always try to find a Potbelly location whereever we go for quick lunch or quick dinner. My family love this place!!! About this particular location - this is by far the smallest one that I have been to. However, there are always enough seats available. Located in the Monument Circle, its location is convenient to those who work or have activities in the area. However, it is a little hard to go there if you just want to grab a sandwich. You have to find a street parking (which is very limited) or park at the Mall parking garage and walk about 2.5 blocks. The service is always friendly too. Our favorites are turkey and Italian. ALWAYS ask for hot peppers if you like to spice up your sandwich. They have grilled cheese too for those picky eaters. They have vegetarian sandwiches too. Chocolate malt shake is the best . Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookie is our favorite. If you like Orangina, Root Beer or Cream Soda - you can get it here. I hope that this location start selling the "Big" size.

Nothing to get too excited about. How is this different than Quizno's exactly. Ok...maybe a little bit better. Honestly, I prefer my sandwiches elsewhere. Downtown fast food has so many better options.

They really have a great selection of sandwiches, salads, sides, desserts, & drinks. They ALWAYS strive for good service. We had an issue once with an order and they did everything they could to give us the best experience not only the next time but every time since. I am definitely going to be a regular here. Great food, great people

One of the best lunch venues/sandwich shops downtown. It's right on the circle so it's very convenient for anyone working downtown. It's prices are cheaper than Jimmy John's and the sandwiches are much better than Subway. They have a local artist play guitar and sing during lunch which is nice. The staff is always very friendly. They do get busy during lunch but they still get the orders out fast. The only problem is a lack of seating, meaning you will probably have to take your food back to your office to eat. When it's nice out, you can eat outside at the additional tables or across the street on the monument steps. One nice thing about this place is that it is owned and operated by a local, military veteran. I would much rather give my money to someone who has served our country and is now running a local business. I would highly recommend going here.

Potbelly wreck salad- it is delicious! However, my online order was pretty simple (everything as is, just NO cucumber) but ordering online saves you NO time. They messed the salad up, re-made it, messed that up by giving me another kind of salad, made my salad again with cucumber and then finally made it again and got it right. The final product was delish- just a bummer for the hassle- and I felt like a jerk asking them to keep re-making it- I never do that. I'll give them another try and chalk it up to an odd day. ; )

I first had Potbelly's in Chicago years ago and fell in love with their hot peppers. I was excited to see a Potbelly's in Indy. It tastes just like I remembered... I usually go during lunch time and enjoy the vibe of the restaurant. The employees are fast, friendly and do an excellent job of keeping up with the lunch hour rush. Oh, and I enjoy the live music and artists playing at this location. I really like Potbelly's. I'll definitely be back for the hot peppers!

I was in Indianapolis for the weekend for a Conference and we needed to find some place to eat dinner that was cheap and close. We chose to go to Potbelly. As a group of 14 we were all able to sit in the restaurant and each order what we wanted with a cheap price tag. It was just a short walk from the Convention Center and Stadium. The circle was also decorated for Christmas, which was pretty. I got the Mediterranean sandwich with a peppermint milkshake and it was delicious. Some of the members in my group got the big pickles and were excited to eat them. The staff was very welcoming and nice. One of the guys even came out to see how we liked the meal. The second night we were Indianapolis we didn't have plans for dinner as a chaperone we asked where every one wanted to go for dinner. It was a unanimous vote to return to Potbelly's! This was a great opportunity for my to try something different. I got the meatball sub which was just as good! Two nights in a row Potbelly's Sandwiches proved to be the restaurant of choice for my group and I am sure that when the conference is back in Indianapolis we will be regulars there again. It is a great restaurant for picky people that want to have something specific or anyone that just wants a really good warm meal.

Some of the most glorious years of my life were as a sandwich jockey at Potbelly when I was in college. I had never had a Potbelly sandwich before I started working there, I'm chalking that up to not working in the Loop. Potbelly is the King of all of the sandwiches. So get this, are you watching your weight? Trying to gain weight? Into bold tastes? Into hot and spicy? Into soup? Into big salads? Potbelly has something for everyone. They even have secret underground sandwiches (which I have brought to your attention) that aren't on the menu, but can be made with the multitude of freshly prepared ingredients at their disposal. Potbelly isn't like other sandwich places. Every morning at 7, some wonderful people go in and start slicing meat & cheese. preparing the chicken salad and tuna salad fresh, and readying those beautiful meat monsters, the Italian and A Wreck. If it was socially acceptable, and I wouldn't die from an ulcer, I would eat Potbelly hot peppers straight out of the jar. You can buy these flavorful babies by the gallon NO FOOLIN'! Potbelly hot peppers are the boss of some type of secret giardiniera racket that makes all other giardinieras look like something you'd scrape off of your shoe in the subway. So what do I get at Potbelly? Chicken Salad sandwich on multi-grain with added cranberries, red peppers, and non-fat vinaigrette, in addition to the topping choices already offered. If there isn't a line, and you're feeling really feisty, ask them to put some roast beef plus extra ounce of meat, hot pepper oil, and hot peppers on a piece of foil and send it through the oven twice. Your mouth with thank you. Don't be afraid of the pizza sandwich. It's worth it. I dare you to go to Potbelly every day for lunch and work through the menu. If you get delivery in Indy, sometimes the sandwich doesn't arrive in the best condition, FYI. I'm not a sweets person, but all of the shakes are real and made right in front of you for maximum tastiness. The cookies.......the cookies are addicting. There are five decorative items in every Potbelly restaurant. You better start going every time you can so you can figure this out! And bosses, I'm sure everyone would love you more if you got Potbelly catering for your office.

They have excellent sandwiches - the Wreck is my favorite and their milkshakes are outstanding. The ordering process is quick and efficient without being rushed. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the music they have during lunch - it takes up valuable table space.

It's the bread! The multigrain bread here makes all the difference. The taste and texture are just superior to any other sandwich place. I have had Potbellys in Chicago and I'm glad there is one in Indy. I suggest the Pizza Sandwich. It was delicious. The smoothie tastes more like a shake, very yummy. Does anyone know if they deliver? ps One thing that did NOT make sense was the Payton Manning Sports Illustrated cover on the wall. It was after Chicago lost to the Colts in the Superbowl.

Back when I worked in the ChiBurbs, my coworkers and I lunched at Potbelly 2-3 times a week. It was the only place we could all agree on and it became a bit of a ritual. When I moved to Indianapolis I lived a Potbelly-free lifestyle for years. They put one Monument Circle and I've been lunching there at least weekly ever since. If you're new to Potbelly, it's pretty simple: they offer toasted sub sandwiches, great soups & salads, and milkshakes. There's fountain drinks and bottled stuff in the fridges. The line may be out the door, but they'll move you through efficiently in about 10 minutes during the lunch rush. If there aren't seats available inside (and outside when the season favors it), you can sit out on the steps of the Monument and do some great people watching. They also have live music during most lunch hours. You'll get some folks doing covers of pop favorites and the occasional bluegrass trio to enhance your lunch break! As far as sandwich shops go, the food is fricking fantastic. Go to potbelly.com and click Menu to check out the whole spread. My two favorites are the Wreck (Salami, Roast Beef,Turkey, Ham & Swiss Cheese) and the Turkey w/ Swiss. The turkey is especially good if you add a few hot peppers. Oh and a chocolate shake. So. Good. Don't freak out if they shout "CHOCOLATE SHAKE!" when you order one. They're just letting the folks by the ice cream know it's time to make it so you can get it at the same time you get your sandwich. For newbies, ordering is different than a lot of places, but it's easy: pick a sub from the menu. Tell the person walking the line with tablet computer when it's busy. If it's slower they'll just take your order at the start of the sandwich line on the left end of the counter. They just need your sandwich and kind of bread at that point. Also tell them if you want a shake, soup, or salad, so they can get that going too. Okay, now your sandwich is on a pizza-oven like toaster. While it gets all hot and awesome, you contemplate the toppings you'd like to put on it. They're painted on the cabinets above and behind the counter. I like easy mustard, easy mayo, lettuce, tomato, and pickle on most of mine. There's also onions, hot peppers, oil, and Italian seasoning. When somebody on the output-side of the toaster asks you what you had, tell them the sandwich and bread, and go ahead and cut in line to stand in front of them when they grab it. Tell them your toppings. Get your sandwich, go ahead and cut again to the next open register. Tell them what you ordered, pick up your chocolate shake & cup o' soup, and pay the nice people. If you really liked the musician(s) toss a dollar or two into their guitar case too. I get easy mayo and easy mustard because they really slather it on, in my opinion. The sandwich gets really drippy and messy if I don't. If that's what you like, just order it regular. I wouldn't order any EXTRA mayo, mustard, or oil unless you've eaten there before and still feel like you need more. Then check yourself into the Mayo Clinic for your addiction.* Oh! Potbelly now caters & delivers, which has made lunch meetings like 18 times better for me since I work downtown. They've got some ultra-fast delivery hipsters with huge packs on fixie-cycles to get your food to you in a nice and green fashion. To sum it up: if you need a fast lunch or want a tasty sandwich give Potbelly a shot, even if the line looks nuts. If you're not getting a chocolate shake you're missing out or you have a horrible food allergy that needs to be cured. *My apologies to all those with real mayonnaise addictions. I don't mean to make light of your plight. Please get help and get well soon.

One night after The Wife moved back from Chicago she suggested we go to Potbelly for dinner. My response was something along the lines of, "Wtf is a Potbelly?" Stunned that I wasn't familiar with, like, the greatest sandwich shop in the known universe, duh, and saddened by the fact that chain had yet to add a link in Indianapolis, she spent the next four years extolling the virtues of Potbelly at every opportunity. Here's the skinny - in 1977, a couple starts selling sandwiches our of their antique shop and names the enterprise after an antique cylindrical style of oven. Fast forward 20 years and they sell the concept to a guy who turns it into a 200-shop chain. They mostly sell baked sandwiches with good ingredients and killer giardiniera relish, Zapp's chips, and cookies and shakes. And as of May 3, 2011, they are open for business in Indianapolis. After four years of hype it was going to be hard to impress me but my first Potbelly impression was strong. The sandwiches are good (I think. When you put giardiniera on anything it just tastes like something with giardiniera on it.), reasonably sized, and cheap for what you get - I walked out of there with dinner for two for less than I'd spend in Subway. I can't weigh in on whether Potbelly is the best sandwich shop in the known universe, but it's definitely the best option in the context of Subway, Jimmy John's, et al.

I prefer to eat at locally owned restaurants when I can, but I realize that I should be more opened minded because several of the chains are very good these days. Potbelly is very reasonably priced and my sandwich was very very good. The other sandwiches I saw looked good too. I also very much liked the ambiance at the restaurant. I would definitely give this a try if you are looking for a more fast food sandwich shop along the lines of subway or quiznos. This place is better than either of them and is priced right.

Yay for places that list their calories on the menu. It is greatly appreciated. The hubs and I both liked our sandwich. I ordered the mediterranean and really liked the flavor despite it not having any meat. It was filling but not too filling that I couldn't eat a cookie too. Yum. Don't leave without grabbing one of those.

Compared to subway, I'm definitely a fan of Potbelly. It's something that makes me run for it whenever it's being catered during company meetings. A colleague recommended me the grilled chicken with cheddar and I got it with peppers, mayonaise , tomatos , and lettuce. I wish the sandwich could be a little bigger, but it's decently filling when you're not terribly hungry. If I'm starving though, I could easily take down 2 sandwiches at least.

Glad to see a potbelly's on the circle. It's good to have a nice hot sandwich option within walking distance of work. I was getting sick of all my coworkers always wanting subway and jimmy johns. I love Potbelly's so 4 stars is basically automatic as I have never had any issues with this location and absolutely love the sandwiches. Sometimes they have live music in the corner which can be relaxing during your lunch break. I must say the only reason this didn't get the full 5 stars is because they do not have the option for the "Bigs" at this location which is the larger sandwich. They do, however, have additional meat on the pizza sub as opposed to just the traditional pepperoni. For that reason I give it a 4.5 star rating. It would be 5 stars if they had the Big's. It's unfortunate that you can still be hungry after eating something so tasty.

Clean, friendly, and nice service behind the counter. I got the chickpea veggie salad and asked for little cups of their spicy brown mustard instead of dressing and they were all too happy to oblige. The salad is massive so beware. When you spend the $6 on it, you get what you pay for...and lunch for the next day.

I tried the chicken and cheddar special last week. Wasn't overly impressed. It wasn't bad; it just didn't have much taste going on. A bit boring. However, I will go back to try something different and update my review accordingly.

So I want to know, so what's the big deal? Except for the bread that is better than Subway. It's not good.... Processed turkey, too much mayo , tasteless mustard, soggy tomatoes ... Just another sandwich chain

My boyfriend adores Potbelly Subs, and normally he thinks they can't do wrong, but when we came to this store during a trip downtown it was a mess. His sandwich was completely subpar, and the avocado on my sandwich (which I paid extra for) was so under ripe that there was seriously pit stuck to a chunk that was like biting into celery. It was disgusting. I may go back to a Potbelly Subs restaurant again, but I don't think it will be the one on Monument Circle.

I LOVE Potbelly. Anytime I'm in Cincinnati for work, I'll make a special trip to their UC location to get one of their yogurt fruit smoothies (I love those little sugar cookies they put on the straw) and the italian sub (can't remember what they call it). I love those hot peppers on anything. The cookies are good, too. So, I was really excited to find out that we had a Potbelly in Indy, finally. Sadly, this location is hard to get to, especially for lunch, unless you work within walking distance of the circle. Pretty much the only time I eat here is when I need a quick bite to eat on my way to a Colts game from a friend's parking garage around the corner. They do a good job with the sandwiches, but take a while with the smoothies (don't all Potbelly's take forever making the shakes & smoothies?). The main part I can't stand about this location, though, is that they have a restroom, but won't let you use it, even if you are a paying customer. It's really frustrating. Yeah, they have a little antibacterial gel squirter thing by the counter where you place your order, but sometimes people just have to use the restroom or would rather wash their hands in a real sink. I've even been there with kids & a group of 7 people. We all bought something to eat...and STILL they would not let the kids use the restrooms. We had to walk around the corner to use the restroom at a different restaurant that didn't even care if we bought something. It's ridiculous.

Great sandwich shop considering the alternatives in the area. Good music playing, lots of seating, and friendly staff (though they did have way too many people working at the time). Sandwich was perfect and the peppers are excellent.

Very good sandwich--and yes, I got the hot peppers. I had the Italian. With a drink and chips the cost was $8.34. Not bad, and it passes the "full lunch" test. I've had the famed Batali sandwich at Goose a couple times and preferred this one. My apologies to the Foodie world.

This is my first time having a sandwich from Potbellys. I have heard of them and actually thought the food would be bad. It was awesome! Im from out of town staying in a hotel and was exhausted from my flight and they delivered by food to me in less than 10 minutes. I had the Mediterranean signature sandwich and added chicken. Everything is so fresh and the hummus is a little spicy, the way I like it! Will definitely be ordering again!

Well, damn. I am a Potbelly devotee. My husband and I are known to travel to Lafayette or even Chicago for a PSW fix. When we got a shop in Indy, I thought, "Bam! The food gods have spoken!" Little did I know they were speaking pig latin. Cause the Indy PSW just doesn't cut it. Maybe it was the time of day (8 pm on a Thursday evening--at which time the circle is pretty dead, and so was PSW), maybe the sandwich maker was new, maybe it was the full moon. I don't know. I just know I did not the Potbelly's sandwich I know and love. I ordered my usual: smoked ham and swiss with the works minus oil. It's my regulah. It's what I get always and so I know what it's supposed to taste like. Places like Potbelly build their brands on a winning formula, so when the formula is off, it doesn't equal the same product. My sandwich was lackluster at best, the bread was falling apart, the hot peppers seemed to be different than the ones I am used to from the Chicago stores (am I wrong or are the Chi-town hot peppers diced in to a relish-type spread vs. Indy's giardiniera style?). I didn't even finish half of it. I ordered the oreo shake and it was good. The other thing I have to mention is the service was really off. We got there at 8, an hour before the 9 pm closing time. We sat outside (there was one other couple there when we got there, when we left, there was no one else outside). One of the guys made his feelings known that he was not happy about our sitting outside, though I can't figure out why: we left no mess and bussed our own table. Also, my husband wanted to use the restroom and was told there isn't one. I didn't check if there was one, but is that even allowed? I thought all restaurants with table seating had to have restrooms. At this point, I'll never go back to the Indy location and the two stars are for...well, the oreo shake I suppose.

This is a great sandwich place. I've gone twice in the last few days while in Indy on business. The breakdown: The Food - good sandwiches, hot or cold. The whole grain bread is super chewy and flavorful without being overly seedy. Meat and cheese goes on then gets toasted, followed up by the cold toppings like lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc. Everything was fresh and crispy. The deli meat seemed to be of a high quality and flavorful without being overly salty. I've had the grilled chicken and cheddar and their signature "Wreck" (rb, turkey, ham, salami, w. provolone) both were tasty and filling. The Service - Bonus points here. Super fast, super friendly, super attentive service. Its a sandwich shop so there is minimal interaction with staff, but they really make you feel welcome and are happy to explain the menu to newbies. The Price - You can't beat it. Sandwiches clock in at under $5, and they taste like a sandwich twice the price. Plus, you can get inexpensive chips or drinks for like $1.50, not bad considering how much you would pay at a bigger chain like quiznos or subway. Atmosphere - Live music most nights, whether its just a local guy jamming on a guitar, or something seems to be a nice addition. Ovarall, 5 stars as the perfect sandwich place.

Ok for a quick small sandwich. It is better than Subway, but still expensive for what you get. Papa Roux in city market is by far a better deal and cheaper. 1 lb. + sandwich versus a 1/3 of a pound. Small appetite vs big appetite for around same price. Just depends on what you want.

Who would become the prodigy offspring of Jimmy John's and Quiznos? You knew this...or you wouldn't be reading a Potbelly's review!! Twas one of the best aspects of going to Chicago...now...without the trip to Chicago! Potbelly serves up delicious sandwich varieties in a clean shop on the southeast end of Monument Circle (plus a surprisingly spacious little patio). I had forgotten how good Potbelly sandwiches are. They also offer the ability to have some extra bread cut out...so you're not completely stuffed post meal. I had a delicious pizza sandwich/sub. Only thing...just like Quiznos...ya gotta wait for it to toast...and the line can be a little awkward during a super-busy lunch hour. Speaking of...you might come prepared to take your sandwich to-go; seating isn't what I'd call plentiful. They have lots of varieties and combinations...so if you love Jimmy Johns, Quizno's, or both, give 'em a try. I am not, by the way, advocating the complete dismissal of either of those two sandwich places; while I like Potbelly...sometimes nothing else but Jimmy John's will do. Fortunately, they're not to far from each other~

Finally, Finally, Finally in Indianapolis! This place just opened in my building a few weeks ago, and already it has become an office favorite. Think of it as Subway on steroids, Jimmy John's with more variety, or ... well ... good. If you're wondering what to get, try out the Wreck (it's a signature item), don't skimp on desert and go for an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, and try an oreo mocha shake. Just don't complain to me when you fall asleep at work in the afternoon!

One block from my hotel was this sandwich shop. Always a good crowd. So I stopped in and ordered an Italian Sandwich. Lots of choices of toppings. Toasted, which was nice. About a 6 inch bun, white or whole wheat. Sandwich was wonderful. I also ordered a whole dill pickle, cut into quarters. Very crisp, tasty and large. Service was fast - would give Jimmy Johns a run. Friendly service, lots of people working. Some seating inside and out. Very pleased.

Between classes today I got to enjoy one of my favorite sub shops! I love this place and I am never disappointed. It sits right on the circle and you get to watch the city zoom by while enjoying your meal. It isn't pricey and you always get what you pay for. They have a wide variety of toppings and their service is quick. The shop has an urban style feel with a plethora of pictures, books, and posters. It is walking distance from the mall; so If you find yourself famished from shopping pop over to Potbelly's for a delicious sub, salad, or soup!

Every time I order from here I have to get a smoothie #1 because it puts me just over the $10 delivery minimum and #2 all their delivery people are dudes so I can get "my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard" stuck in my head for the rest of the day. A wreck is a darn good sandwich, and their salads are very solid as well. I can usually order from here and eat lunch two days in a row. The wait for delivery is almost without fail exactly within the time frame quoted on the website's delivery page.

I believe in the hype of Potbelly. This sandwich place is in a great location right off Monument Circle. It's perfect for the working crowd downtown and is a favorite of mine for lunch. Although its not a particularly innovative concept, (I mean, we've all had Jimmy John's, Quizno's and countless other subs in our lifetimes) I personally think the food is of greater quality here than Subway, Jimmy John's, etc. I like that you have the option of ordering "lite" bread, so there aren't as many carbs in that sandwich. I've really enjoyed both the chicken salad and the Mediterranean sandwiches. I haven't really branched out because both of those are so good. Definitely want to try others. Maybe next time! I typically get everything on the sandwich - the hot peppers are no joke. But oh so good. I recently discovered this location delivers within a 10 block radius of the shop, and, since I live downtown now, I will definitely take advantage of this on the weekends when I'm too "tired" from the night before to attempt to venture out to find food. It does get pretty crowded in here during the lunch hour - I've seen lines out the door before, but I think the staff does a great job of keeping things moving by taking orders while you wait in line. Also, seating is pretty limited. If you're lucky enough to grab a seat inside, I'd take it. I typically avoid this place during the winter for that reason, and instead wait until I can take my sandwich and eat it on the Circle steps on a sunny summer day.

First time here! The Mediterranean sandwich with chicken was exactly what I needed. The hot peppers were a perfect blend of spicy hot, and the artichokes were nicely quartered. Would recommend.

Had potbelly catered in for a meeting this afternoon. The sandwiches are very good and the salad is excellent!!! It's located on the circle downtown which makes it super convenient. There is this hot pepper mix that can be added to the sandwiches which is a MUST if you like things spicy. The other awesomely bad things are their cookies!!! The oatmeal chocolate chip is dangerous! You should try them :)

If you want a boring old sandwich, don't go here. This is not subway or JJ. Instead you get a hot fresh sandwich loaded with meat and veggies of your choice. I've had 2 different sandwiches here and can't pick a favorite. The wreck and the grilled chicken and cheddar are both outstanding. No matter what you get, the hot peppers are a MUST! They are spicy and sweet but not toooooo hot. This is my favorite sandwich shop

I moved to the downtown this past Saturday. I couldn't leave my place since I was unpacking and needed something tasteful and quick to deliver - other than Jimmy Johns. So I order Potbelly Sandwitches. It never gets old, it just reminds me of the first time I had them when I was at Dulles International Airport. We all got the turkey sandwitches, plus and minus on the greens and dreesings. Once again, thanks for making my day Potbelly!

Came here for lunch for the first time ever yesterday out of the single desire of wanting to eat cheap and near the circle. Upon review of the menu online, we accepted the mission of experience Potbelly. Considering it was lunch time, I was thoroughly impressed with how quickly they moved us through the line. I went with the chicken salad sandwich on multigrain bread with mayo (because you can never get enough mayo) and pickles. The sandwich was delightful, and I'm pretty sure I fell into a food trance while eating it because suddenly I looked down and it was gone. If parking was a little bit easier, this would definitely be in my weekly lunch rotation... but alas I will save this for times I'm willing to drive around until a magical parking spot opens up with my name on it.

I love this place. The menu is concise but balanced. I can not name anything I have had there that I do not like. And the pepper relish is awesome on ever sandwich so I bought some and ended up eating it on salad and pizza. Highly recommended

Simple toasty sandwiches--busy atmosphere. There's your stereotypical sandwich line for ordering, a bit too quick for my liking but they get the job done. I got some sort of chicken melt with lettuce and their HOT PEPPERS ARE ADDICTING!!! Soooo tasty. But also they offer bike delivery for those in the downtown area--go check it out! I've yet to be disappointed with their catering since my company get their catering ALL THE TIME. So if you're tired of Jimmy Johns or Subway, Potbelly is a GREAT alternative!

I've heard about Potbelly for a while. Each time I come to Indy for business, it's usually one of the first places people mention for lunch. For whatever reason, it just never materialized. On a recent business trip, it came up again and I made sure we tried it out. While I think the food was good, it wasn't worth the hype. I had the A Wreck sandwich (Salami, roast beef, turkey & ham with Swiss cheese) with all the trimmings (lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, mustard, hot peppers, onion, oil and italian seasoning) on multigrain wheat bread . The sandwich itself was really good, but nothing that would knock my socks off (as others have described it). Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich, but it wouldn't rank in my top 10 sandwiches. I also had the broccoli cheddar soup which was pretty decent as well. I also had a couple bites of the sugar cookie (baked fresh everyday) my friend got. I must say that was really good. Service was quick and friendly. I would certainly visit again to try another sandwich.

August is a big month in my business. And by big, I mean often painful, disheartening, exhausting, and tense. Labor day is the turning point, the signal the worst of it is over. (The good news is the other 11 months are never as difficult, often a good time.) To celebrate leaving the worst of the worst behind, I ordered in lunch for my department. I'm a big fan of feeding these people. I do it as often as possible. I'd heard wonderful things about Potbelly's from many people in the department and thought it would be a nice change from the regular go-to places I've used in the past. Reviews were mixed. I ordered a sampling of virtually the entire menu. It's a big group. I personally had half of the Italian and half of the smoked ham. They were alright. Pretty basic as far as sandwich fare if you ask me. I wasn't crazy about the bread, which is strange because I'm a carboholic. I gravitate to anything bready, all types. Luckily for me, I married a man who bakes perfect bread of all kinds. Yeah, I'm that spoiled. But Potbelly, this bread just didn't do it for me for some reason. The salad is a very different story. I ordered the Uptown Salad with Potbelly Dressing - it was everything I hoped it would be and more. Delicious. Fresh. Perfect balance of flavors. I absolutely loved it. Many others opted for the balsamic dressing and gave it rave reviews. The salad was the big hit of the meal, definitely. Potbelly's fell right down the middle for me. Chances are, I won't be ordering this for my group again. The reaction was just too lukewarm. I would definitely be up for trying more of their salads, however. If I'm in the area, I'll stop in but I won't be making special trips just yet. Who knows? Maybe a few more of those spectacular salads will start regular cravings!

What a lovely place! Decided to give this place a try after several people told me how great it was... and they weren't lying. The place itself is very unique and full of all sorts of stuff. Orders are taken on the far left side of the counter. After examining the menu I ordered. There were two people behind the counter, a guy and a girl. IDK if the girl was new, or just given a hard time by the guy, but either way the dynamic between the two was energetic and fun. After our sandwiches made a pass through the toaster we added our toppings and went along with our day. Before selecting a seat outside (it was a beautiful fall day) we commented on how inexpensive our meal was. $17 for two people is amazing... especially when we are used to paying $25+ elsewhere. The food was absolutely delicious. Made me happy... and really that's what's important. Good flavor and great value! The place itself is clean, bright (huge windows overlooking monument circle), and plenty of places to sit. They do have a small section outside to sit as well (clearly as it was mentioned above). They do offer other items than a sandwich, such as smoothies, soup, and I believe even salads. They do have some baked goods at the counter as well. Its a great little place and I'm sure that I'll be back again.

Service is awesome even when they are busy, the employees all have a great attitude, and the food is delicious! Went today during lunch rush and had my food in 15 minutes. A line of staff all smiled and were extremely courteous. Their bread is AMAZING, everything about this restaurant is perfect.

You know how they say if you love something so much, you should marry it?! Here is my proposal Potbelly.. Will you do me the honors? ..marry me? And, we can try every night to make a bacon baby, or little ham slice...wrapped in the best buns in town?! Where am I going with this?! I have no idea!! However, your sandwiches make me sing and since I found out you deliver, I have fallen madly in food love. I don't just recommend this place, I suggest you take up permenant residence and live in one of the comfortable booths they have along the wall. Infact, sleep anywhere in the dining room after you eat just so you can wake up and eat again. I first had Potbelly Sandwich Works at my job. I literally ate two of the small catering sandwiches, and put a third in my purse (sorry not sorry). I could try to use every emoticon I can think of to express how excited I was just walking into the building itself. However, on to the details: Aroma is amazing! Bathe in it. Menu is punctial, and prompt so hurry up and buy! Atmosphere is hip, but not overdressed. Music fun, and the staff obviously enjoying their skills because "good at what they do is an understatement" There are books, games, and a window to sit in for sunshine. Located in one of the historic buildings downtown, just creep around either of the exits to see heavy black marbled walls and golden trimmings. The location is perfect for feel good vibes overlooking the busy Monument circle any day.. The food: Is made with love, the ingredients are fresh. No seriously. Hand sliced, diced, and chopped everyday. The bakery gets going every morning, and each cookie is crafted by hand. My favorite dishes are the infamous Wreck (coined by the establishment), the Turkey Breast, Smoked Ham, the Uptown Salad, and Brocolli Cheese Soup. There is a secret to their delicious bread, and if it's ever told I want the first print tattooed on my bicep. You will love this place from head to toe, they deliver within 15 blocks of their building and they pride themselves on fast paced service. GO and Enjoy! P.S. Add the Hot Peppers :) xoxo

This place is greeeaaatttt! I use to get the Clubbie. Now I've switched to the Grilled Chicken & Cheddar. Delicious. The staff is very friendly. Only thing j would say that is negative is they always run out of sugar cookies which are to die for. I would definitely suggest this spot to anybody.

This place is pretty interesting. There is not many places to sit so be prepared to stand. Also the other bad thing is that they do nickel and dime you for all the sides and chips. The food though was pretty good. I had the MEDITERRANEAN (Zippy Hummus, Feta, Artichoke Hearts, Crispy Cukes and Roasted Red Peppers). I added Mushrooms to this and it was awesome. The great thing about this place is you do not have to have the entire bread. They will cut it down for you. I have tried A Wreck® (Salami, Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham & Swiss Cheese). This sandwich was okay. I will definitely go back and try other sandwiches.

I was kind of surprised at how little 13 dollars for lunch bought. A sandwich with a whisper of meat on it, topped with some barely melted cheese, a mystery soup. (I ordered the spicy Black Bean, but not really sure that is what is was I did not see many black beans) and a drink. The staff was more interested in each other than their customers. I thought the mayo, mustard and peppers guy was funny, and he should train the other employees. Order rung up wrong, the young lady had her "deer in the headlights" look, so I just let it go, she did offer me a free cookie, which I declined. The place was clean, kind of noisy. I may have my arm twisted to go back in the summer when the sidewalk seating is open, but if I am going to break my 10 dollar a day lunch budget, it will be someplace that has better food.

Thank you Potbelly for bringing fantastic giardiniera (hot peppers) to Indianapolis. As a long time resident of Chicago, I fell in love with your sandwiches. But now that I am back home in Indiana it is exciting to see your store in my new-old home. But please please please open more locations. The TKY is such a great concept - less meat/cheese/bread, fully loaded with extra hot peppers and those fantastic pickles. And of course I balance out the lighter sandwich with an amazing oatmeal chocolate chip cookie! MMMMMM! The Mediteranean, A Wreck and the Farmhouse salad are my other go-to favorites. Jimmy John's will likely go out of business soon once everyone gets to experience Potbelly's goodness.

Well on top of getting my order wrong twice then offering me two free sandwiches and then going to get another order with the two free and they turn around and still charged me for the free sandwiches to! so for a salad and two sandwiches plus the two free one they charged me 31.00 !!!!! Go figure. They must really need the money because your food is not all that just convenience is all !

One rainy night, we ventured downtown for a Pacers game. Every restaurant we tried to get into had more than an hour wait. That's when my genius husband mentioned Potbelly. We walked in, were immediately greeted and the best part...no line. We actually had time to sit down and eat before the game! Service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious! Too bad that I don't live or work downtown. I would eat here on a weekly basis.

My first venture to this sub shop chain. Parked right on Monument Circle it was nice to just walk in from a visit around the Circle. The decor is Indy friendly with pictures, banners, signage that's geared towards Nap town. The menu is simple but varied and very straight forward. Grab a few of the specialty sandwiches or choose your own adventure with time of options. Once the bread is toasted they follow up with you by asking for your toppings again. Sounds repetitive but I like getting what I ordered and not get lost in translation over the hustle and bustle of a pretty busy joint. I got the Turkey BLT. The wife a salad. The sandwich was toasty and crunchy. The bacon crisp and the LT was fresh. Fresh tea washed it down (regular as I did not see a Sweet option). The wife's salad was huge and filling. Although after tasting my sandwich she regretted her menu choice. All in all a great experience. I'm sure the cookies and dessert are good but Rocket Fizz next store beacons.
