Glad to say that this is my first time trying Popeye's. This location is just off I-65 on exit 101. Service seemed decent on the day I wrote this review. It's pretty clean inside and fairly new. Now, this probably isn't going to be my "go-to" place for chicken. It's expensive and may even fill you up. Overall, I find Popeye's on par with Bojangles. They taste pretty identical. I got a combo of 5 spicy chicken strips with fries and a biscuit. The fries have a unique breading on them. The biscuit tasted good and the chicken was not bad. If you're in a chicken mood, I think Popeyes works. :)

So I've been in a couple times more since my first visit over 10 months ago. Seems like the crew is getting better with experience and training. Got my order straight didn't forget the biscuits! I tried their $5 lunch with tenders, red beans rice & macncheese. All quick hot & good. Someone is always cleaning tables & checking supplies so that's great. Up my stars to 4.

Today was my first time ever trying Popeye's. Upon walking in I found the place to be clean, and some what decently laid out. They had two registers open and had two people in front of us. The wait was pretty standard to place our order. When we got to the counter the girl greeted us and took our order. One thing that I kept noticing is that every time someone came in they would all yell out "welcome back to Popeye's"... but not all at once but all randomly. This got old after hearing just a few times. While we waited for our order to come out we walked over to get our drinks. Super excited that they have the coke freestyle machine... but where they placed the unit makes for cramp spacing as its next to where people stand to wait for their food. They say they call out your name, but I never heard any names being called out so everyone stands at the counter. Our food came out pretty quick and the order was all correct. I was expecting the Cajon fries to be spicy, but they were not... and that made me happy. They had good flavor and tasted as if they just came out. The chicken was good and flavorful too. I actually felt like I was eating real chicken, vs mutant chicken at other places. I was impressed with his place and will be back again

I've heard of Popeye's for many years, but never tried it because there were none in our area. Pretty good flavors for a fried chicken place. Three of us had jambalaya, chicken po boy with red beans and rice, and fried shrimp. All of the fried stuff has a spicy breading that makes it more interesting than your average fried food. The po boy was decent, but like a fast food version of a great po boy - what else did I expect? The jambalaya was quite tasty - comparable to Zatarain's with chicken and sausage. Oh yeah, and the biscuits, you'll want a biscuit! It's just fast food, but it's pretty big flavor.

Good place to eat, much bigger than the Popeyes on 135, makes it nicer! Not much more to say.

Chicken is awesome! The problem here is the service. Very slow, it took 30 minutes to get my order and then once I got it, the order was wrong. I had ordered spicy chicken and received mild chicken. The management needs to get their act together so this can be a very good restaurant. I will say they were friendly.

Got the mashed potatoes cause I've been very sick. The gravy was so spicy I couldn't eat all of it and it was just as horrible going down as it did coming up. NEVER GET THE MASHED POTATOES

Ummm... this ain't Popeyes' recipe!!!!! It don't taste bad, but it sure ain't the Popeyes flavor I know. Tastes KFC-like. I ONLY eat Popeyes when it comes to the chains, & this Greenwood location is battering up with who-knows-what? I had the chicken po-boy as usual. A couple weeks prior I had the same thing at a Popeyes at a truck stop in middle-of-nowhere Ohio that tasted like Popeyes. The Greenwood, IN store DEFINITELY skipped the marinade and the crust was lack-lust. I am a South Louisiana native, and my wife - who is a native mid-westerner - commented that she could have licked the table and gotten more flavor than what was on the chicken strips she ordered!! Did I mention that the service was terribly slow on this particular day? Very disappointed! And i hate leaving this kind of review for any restaurant, but this spot needs to get it togetha. Where's the Popeyes police when you need 'em?!?!?

I give it one star because it will not allow me to start with out a star! I love Popeyes Chicken, but today (as always when this shift leader is on duty, Time: 11:45 a.m., 11/9/14), the service was none existence. After a 20 minute wait I ask for a refund, they acted as if it was my fault their service was horrible, and I had not received my order. I paid with a card but they warned to refund in cash because, (the shift leader said) "I will have to explain the refund." I'm tired of the hit and miss service and will NOT give them another chance. Sorry guys, there are many chicken restaurants in Greenwood/Indianapolis, IN.

Disappointing is the best word for this. I'd been to the Popeye's on Madison closer to the South side of the city, have gotten mediocre service there so wasn't expecting it to be much better here. (This was a drive-thru experience) And I was right! Despite having my order repeated back to me several times, the cajun rice I ordered was replaced with cajun fries, which were cold, limp and flavorless. I ordered the three-piece meal with breast, a wing and a drumstick and received a breast and two thighs. This was given to us after waiting for forty-five minutes. Thirty to have our order taken. Just skip this one. Go to Krispy Krunchy Chicken on US 31 if you want cajun-style chicken in Greenwood.

My son loves to eat here. The food isn't too bad but the service leaves something to be desired. This is the slowest Popeye's on earth. I think that the management of this location is not the greatest. You have to go to the counter way to many times. You place your order and wait. And then you wait some more. I'm all into having fresh food but seriously a 45 minute wait for a 3 piece chicken tender and the surf and turf special is too long. Then when you sit down you realize that the tray does not have any dipping sauce. so you have to go to the counter to ask. There was no ketchup for the fries. Again back to the counter for ketchup. No butter for the biscuit and you guess it back up to the counter for retrieve the butter. Just put out the condiments if you are not going to put on the tray so people can serve themselves instead of creating so many trips to the counter and trying to maneuver through the pile of waiting people for there food.

I'm going to let the email I just sent to management speak for itself on this experience: At 6:49 this evening we visited the Popeyes at 5020 E. County Line Road in Indianapolis. This was a very disappointing experience and does not encourage us to visit again. Or order was a 12 piece family meal with fries and slaw for dine in. This took until 7:34 to be prepared -- a full 45 minutes. Meanwhile we watched the drive thru be consistantly processed through at a seemingly reasonable speed. Despite our order being specified for dine in, and our reciept indicating it was rang in as such, our order was bagged as if trying to send us to go instead. This was not a big issue, we unbagged everything at the table to discover no plates, no utensils, and no napkins. When we approached the counter and asked for plates the employee looked quite confused by this request and said "plates?" The solution finally was we were handed 3 small bowls to at least be able to share the cole slaw. Quite disappointing that to eat the rest of our meal we had to resort to tearing the lids off the boxes to improvise rather than eating on a questionably clean table. Through this we were unable to locate napkins and overheard similar complaints from other patrons. Looking back, the fact that when we first arrived another customer had to ask for a lid to his cup and then was given a stack of lids and asked to stock the area himself should have been a clue. Overall, the food itself was decent. The chicken was hot and crispy. The biscuits were good but would have been better had we been given butter for them. However, the fries tasted like they had spent our entire wait time of 45 minutes under a heat lamp waiting on everything else. Frankly, if this is to be typical of this location I don't expect to need to worry about returning as I don't see them lasting very long.

What a joke. No chicken after a 15 minute wait and not being told so. Asked for my money back after being told it would be another half hour. You would think the assistant manager Kelly was being asked to take my money out of her own pocket. I was one of many disappointed customers. Wanted to try Popeyes' but will never go to this store again.
