I've been here 3 times in the past month. The service has varied widely pending on who is working as they get the kinks out of the new restaurant. Everything I've eaten had been good. The pho, banh xeo, and rice dishes have been spot on with tons of flavor. Though be warned the pics on the menu do not match the food you get. I think they may have just downloaded pics from the Internet instead of taking pics of their own food. I will be back for take out next time till they work out the kinks with service.

I tried the House Special Pho because that should be what they get right. And they do! Best I've had in a long time! Go with the tripe. It's soft and carries the flavor of the broth. The Vietnamese meatball! Yum!! Topped off with Vietnamese iced coffee and I'm a happy girl!

We entered Pho Tasty at 1pm on a Sunday afternoon and were not sure if you were to seat yourself, approach the counter in the back, or what. We were finally told to "just sit anywhere" if we were eating in and opted for a table near the windows. From there, we sat for a full 18 minutes before being approached at all. The family beside us left at about the 15 minute mark. However, we quickly noticed that the gentleman that directed us toward our seats was *the only one* working the front of the house, so we decided to suspend judgement and just wait. Admittedly, I am not well versed in Vietnamese cuisine and always get the same thing. I perused the menu and noticed they only had beef or pork Pho options, and I usually get chicken. Hmmm. The sole waiter (the owner maybe?) finally came to take our order and I asked about Chicken Pho. He said it was an option ("many Americans like the chicken"), it's just not on the menu. Score. The Hubs branched out and got the #28 (rice and egg noodles with shrimp). Of course we got the spring rolls (sans pork) with peanut dipping sauce. When our food came out my husband's had pork in it when he had ordered shrimp, and only rice noodles. Our server brought his order tablet back to compare, then left and brought back the menu, then left and came back again before agreeing to bring my husband what he had originally ordered. Luckily I take notes for my reviews in real time, so I was able to confirm that he had indeed ordered the #28. Whew. I would think they should have just taken it away and made it right from jump instead of making 3 trips back to the table to look at the dish again, but that's just me. Taste wise, the rolls were good. The peanut sauce was sparse and topped with a gob of onions, which gave it a strange onion-y taste that I am not used to, but to each their own I guess. My pho hit the spot despite having onions in it when I asked for no onions, and once the hubs got the right meal, his was "ok", too. Things we learned at our visit: -- The Groupon must be used for Pho dishes ONLY and other entrees will not be discounted. Ask at the beginning to be sure that what you order will be covered under these guidelines. -- Bathrooms are clean, dining space is bright and nice -- Service can be a little slow and water refills were difficult to obtain -- We may give it another shot for take-out as dining in took a really long time for a Sunday afternoon. All in all I became homesick for my little Pho spot on the Westside after our visit to Pho Tasty as the service and food is ALWAYS stellar at my former spot... oh well. Pho Tasty will have to do in a pinch.

    # 41. Nothing to write home about. bland. Service was good. servers were pleasant. Food should be the star of any restaurant.

The new owners have really turned this place into a great restaurant. They did a remodel on the inside and it looks much brighter and more welcoming. They also expanded the menu and add Bahn Mi (THANK YOU) . I ordered their Grilled Chicken Bahn Mi which was phenomenal! The chicken was great and the sandwich itself had a great spicy flavor. Tip: skip the mayo and have them add avocado. That's a perfect Bahn Mi. They also now offer fruit smoothies with boba. I had an avocado smoothie with boba which was very good. I will definitely be back for lunch very often at Pho Tasty. Can't wait to taste their pho next time.

This location was taken over a few months ago by new management. Although the previous proprietor's operation was OK, after a couple visits we didn't think it was remarkable. I decided to stop in a month ago and was pleasantly surprised by the new owners and better pho. I've been a fan of Pho and soft spring rolls w/peanut dipping sauce since 1975 when a Vietnamese restaurant opened up near my house. I judge the pho in two categories: Taste of the broth and the ingredients. At Pho Tasty, I've gotten only the house special Super Bowl, about $15. The taste of the Pho broth is as good as I've ever had, rich with anise and other seasonings and spices, but not too salty. The meats in the Super Bowl are tender, tasty, and plentiful. The rice vermicelli is properly cooked. The bean sprouts and the basil are very fresh. If you like pho and soft spring rolls with peanut sauce, you should check this place out! Note that the prices on their web site's menu are different from what I pay( a bit higher ) for carry-out. If you're sensitive about not paying a couple dollars more than what's on the menu in the store and what's posted, check the prices before ordering.

This place is legit. Summer rolls and spring rolls are delicious. Had the Pho special and Kim Chi. Both were excellent. Everything comes out piping hot. Try the Thai iced tea too.

I was looking forward to enjoying this place. I didn't even know it existed until i saw they had a groupon. The groupon said $20 value for towards two pho dishes and I didn't even get a chance to use it for the visit because he said I had to order pho. Instead of putting dishes on the groupon they should of put pho noodle soup. Its misleading because I thought we could of used it on any food dishes. I guess I misread it on my end. Besides the whole groupon ordeal, we sat ourselves at the booth and the waitress came and dropped off menus. We didnt see her until 10 mins passed. And when she took our orders took her another 10 mins to bring water with no ice. Food took a while and when the food finally came the man asked if we wanted ice. Its like goodness took you 15 mins to realize we had no ice. I am ok, I will enjoy my room temperature water. I usually order pho when going to a Vietnamese restaurant, but I didnt feel like eating noodle soup today so i opt for the vermicelli noodles. It was just okay. I really had better and the fried rice was pretty generic. It was like getting fried rice at panda express. Overall service was bad. I get they just opened and looking to hire more staffs but they are going to lose lots of customers at the rate they are going. I don't think I will be back because service took wayyy too long. I have had my share of Vietnamese restaurants from here to California but at least the food made up for the lack of service like most of how the Vietnamese restaurants are. But not so great food and horrible service definitely wont have me back.

This is the best Vietnamese I've had. The pho broth was rich and flavorful and the rare beef was tender. The number 41 is one of my favorite dishes. It's cool rice noodles, cucumber, and sprouts topped with beef, peanuts, and 2 cut up spring rolls. It comes with a sauce on the side that you pour over. So flavorful and refreshing. I highly recommend this place for real Vietnamese food.

The food is very affordable and tasty. We used a Groupon for two of us who were having pho, and everyone else's entrees were no more than $10 (shrimp fried rice, shrimp in rich brown sauce with rice, and another noodle dish). The kids had bubble tea--one strawberry (a little thin--tasted like Nestle Quik!) and the other mocha (more chocolate-y). For appetizers, we all had spring rolls and the kitchen was happy to accommodate with no pork in half of our spring roll orders. For dessert we enjoyed two different kinds of a jelly dish made in plastic cups--both had a coconut milk base and then they were each topped with a green (pandan flavor I think) or brown jelly (coconut sugar flavor?). They were really tasty and made me think of other dishes I've had in Southeast Asia. The young waiter was really patient with all our orders, explaining our options, and adapting to our preferences (no pork), etc. For a busy Saturday night, I was really pleased. My only change for the future would be that they clear the dishes when we finish our appetizers or main course. While dinner was excellent, overall our waiter really made the evening. One last thing, I did notice the menu online is a little different than what you will see in the restaurant. Pho with vegetarian broth is now available, and some of the prices seem have increased if I recall correctly (e.g. shrimp pho). My family and I will be going back for sure!

Poor service. Sat there for 20 minutes before I was asked if I need water. And then she brought water along with my check as I was finishing up the food. Food is pretty good. Big room for improvements on speed and service.

The place has really bad service, they missed an item in our order and refused a refund for an incorrect item placed. We ordered the fried rice and the noodles and lemongrass chicken. Fried rice lacked salt, lemongrass chicken was ok. Server was rude. Would not recommend going to this place again.

Big improvement from it's predecessor V-Café. There is now a full menu with lots of interesting choices. The goi roll was a bit weak. The shrimp and pork were cut so thin as to be translucent. Also it was missing the traditional mint leaf. The dippy sauce was very peanuty. Overall not bad just not up to it's potential. A pork sausage roll on the special of the day menu was very good but had a sauce that was so bland we couldn't figure out what it was. The first sauce with the 2nd roll would have been perfect. The Mi Xa Gion a seafood, pork and beef combination on crunchy noodle had great flavor. Subtle but full. It suffered from small shrimp that weren't fresh. It was overly expensive for the quality of the ingredients. The rare beef pho was one of the best pho's I've had. It was slightly sweat at first but we didn't notice that after a few bites. It is not as beefy as other pho's but the flavors killed it and the noodles were cooked just right (it's so easy to overcook rice noodles and they often are). We liked it enough that we are looking forward to our next visit.

My family dined Pho Tasty this evening, all having Pho and a Fried Spring Rolls. We had a very good experience and good food. The Pho broth could be a little more flavorful but was still very good. Will go back!

It was OK. The pho broth was nothing special. It needed to be cooked with more spices to give it more flavor. The condiments of sprouts and peppers were meager and I had to get a 2nd platter. The bowl was just too empty compared to nicer pho places. It was just missing the true essence of a good pho place. They need more service staff to handle a large lunch crowd. It took a few attempts and hand waving to get some action. This was apparent from other tables too. There was no decor at all and the lights were fit for a formal restaurant, no a pho place. They had a fan blowing as there were not using the AC. I'm not sure if worked or not. I didn't ask. Thanks for trying to bring other foods to Indy.

Best pho in Indy. The staff was super nice and helpful. Food was hot, fast, and seriously amazing. The house made chili sauce was on point.

Very impressed with the tasty, light flavorful Pho -vegetarian was my choice. It was served with very fresh basil, Mung sprouts, lime wedges and jalapeños. The broth was excellent and the service quite good. I would like to see more vegetarian selections on the menu, but they seem willing to adapt as needed. My husband had a spicy beef noodle dish that he enjoyed quite a bit. The decor is great for a strip mall location, very inviting, warm and contemporary.

I had lunch here today. Spring rolls with peanut sauce and a hardy bowl of Oxtail Pho. Both excellent. I'll definitely be making this a regular stop when I am in Castleton.

Delicious Pho! Enjoyed the rare beef pho. Tender meat and great flavor to the broth. All the pho toppings (sprouts, limes, jalapeños, etc.) were fresh. Spring rolls were excellent. Overall very good. Way better than the place that was here before. Will definitely go back.
