Was in indy, stop by a bar called peppers brew garden. The food was great, the enviroment was a sport's fan dream with all the tvs. The waitstaff was extremely courteous was a great experience. I highly recommend it. They are family friendly, people under 21 can come and dine until 9 pm.

Peppers Brew Garden and Eatery - Do Not Eat Here! I could not wait to get home and write this after I decided to try this place for the first time. I ordered the "Best Burger in Indianapolis." That in itself was a big joke. I ordered a Medium burger, and when I got home and opened it up, it looked like a burger that fell through a grill and laid on coals for a couple of days. Pretty disgusting, the fries that are $2 extra was just as bad. I took the burger back to the place, and I told the manager how ridiculous it was that he would even serve any customer that kind of burger, and he asked me "what did I want him to do?" So this is for the manager. Do yourself a favor, never let your cooks send out bad food like that, next time offer your customer a refund, and prepare the food correctly. That is what you do. But for me, that is the last time I go to that place and spend any money. If this is what is suppose to make Lawrence the next Fishers, we have a long way to go.

I am updating my last review because some of it might seem a tad harsh. As I previously stated, the bartenders and servers are women. All are friendly and outstanding people. This is amazing to me since their morale has been ripped from their very soul by management. It should be noted when dining or drinking that you are being watched. No seriously! I know every business has cameras for safety reasons. But in this case, YOU ARE BEING WATCHED. The food is good there. But as I previously stated, there are no nachos! I mean c'mon, you throw off the vibe of being a sports bar and no nachos?!? Down right un-American. Cheese sticks? Nope. Pizza? Nope. Delicious hot poppers? Nada. How about savory deep fried pickles? Forget it. "Someone" knows best on what we should eat regardless on how many people want it. I tried sneaking a pepperoni pizza Hot Pocket in my sock once. I'm still in therapy to this day over what happened. The burgers are very good there. Karaoke is a good time too. Tell Andy I sent you. He's a stand up guy. Seriously, the man never sits down. He'll constantly tell you stories of when he was in SEAL Team 6. Thanks for your service Andy! Now, I fancy myself as a connoisseur of bars. This is where it gets tricky. You see, you get to know the staff when you frequent a place often. Here you get to see people you become friends with drop like flies. If you are in the serving business, you've likely been fired from this place. Some of the stories ex-employees have told me would make J. Edgar Hoover drop his jaw. So in saying that, don't get too friendly with your server. She will likely be dropped like a one legged soccer player. The place has a ton of TVs though. Good times during football season. The best is when a game is on and one of the owners turns on the jukebox. He proceeds to say "We need some music with soul." and plays Pat Benatar. I actually chipped a tooth when my jaw hit the floor. And what ever you do, do not touch the TV that has the car shows on. I saw a server take a 2x4 to the knees when it was on ESPN. Poor girl never stood a chance. In saying all this, I've decided to give another star. It's for the people there. The regulars too. I just wish management of this establishment felt the same. Free Nacho!!!

Pros: okay draught selection, fun bar games, tons of seating at the bar Cons: it was really empty on a Saturday night I stopped in to Peppers after a party nearby, and was surprised to see this place nearly deserted on a Saturday night (think 11ish?). Oh well, this did not deter us from popping up on the bar stools that surround their huge bar. The seats were super comfortable, and we had a great view of all the TVs. We didn't try any mixed drinks of food (we must come back for this!), but they had some good specials listed that we took advtanage of. All in all, we had very friendly service. I'm not sure why more people weren't here!

This place is OK; pretty average for a bar. The menu was not impressive but it was typical bar food I guess. The beer selection was minuscule for a place that calls itself a "brew garden" but the staff was nice.

Ordered the nachos. Took forever (55 minutes +) and yet the place was very slow. The nachos came out with onions, which I asked to be left off. No biggie, things happen. When I asked if I could keep them while I wait for my new order so I could eat a few chips, the waitress said yes, then came back 5 minutes later and said the manager was making me give them up. Terrible customer service. I will never go back there. Mistakes are one thing- no biggie, I'm a grown man and I can get over it. Treating the customer like a doormat is another.

Take my three stars with a grain of salt. We didn't even sit down. The business name proclaiming brew garden and eatery is a bit misleading. We just wanted a nice sit down dinner, but the place is a bar with the usual bar odors. Not their fault. We were looking for a nice different place to stop for dinner. There was only a couple tables filled, so it was not a welcoming atmosphere. If I need a beer or a opulent drinks, I might give it a shot. Dinner with wife, not so much.

Met up with some friends last night for a birthday party. It's their regular hangout, but I've only been one other time, on St. Patrick's Day a few years ago. I remember having fun... there was a band and a heated tent in the beer garden. This time around, I was pretty impressed by the food... the tenderloins were huge and looked homemade. The burgers were stuffed with cheese and looked tasty as well. The queso with chips I ordered was spicy and good, but the cheese's consistency made me wonder if it hadn't been sitting under heat lamps for a while. Not a huge beer selection, although they did have Bell's Two Hearted on tap for my beer snob. I loved the Peppers Potion (I think that's what it was called) - tasted just like a melted grape popsicle! It was kind of expensive ($7.50) for the atmosphere, so I only ordered one. Our server was on it. You don't really expect that kind of service at a sports bar from a cocktail server, but she was doing a great job checking back and bringing us whatever we needed. Our bill was also split properly, a rarity when you have it split five or six ways. The only real complaint I have is that it was REALLY smoky. Not necessarily the bar's fault, but we left smelling more like an ashtray than usual. Three stars mainly because it's a sports bar and I just can't make myself get too excited about those.

Upon first entering, we considered turning around. The overall feel is not very welcoming. It had dive bar feel, but we stuck it out. The service was okay, and the burgers were good. The burgers were filled with the toppings, unexpected and not explained by our server, but a nice touch. The beer list was actually disappointing filled with domestics and big name companies with few spots reserved for the craft beers. The server also seemed to have no knowledge of what types of beers the craft brews were so it was try at your own risk. It's not a destination point but I would probably return.

It's an average bar. Nothing to write home about. It's simple straight, forward: drinks and bar food. And as if the menu wasn't enough of an indication of this, the numerous amount of noisy electronic games, TVs blaring the latest game, and smoggy atmosphere will bring it home. It wouldn't be my regular hang out since I enjoy conversation with my drinks but in a pinch it will do.

Met up with friends Wednesday night for another friend's birthday. Drinks were reasonable ($3 for bottled beer, $4 for Jager bombs). Did not order food, so no comment. Female bartender, while not inefficient, was not very personable and couldn't take a joke (one in our party asked in jest "So where you live" and she said "None of your business; I don't need any stalkers." I would have told him something similar but more tactfull. Besides the 7 of us there weren't more than 5 others in the whole place dead. Pool tables, outdoor patio, plenty of TVs with lots of variety (golf, tennis, horses, baseball, soccer, hockey were on) so that's a plus if you like that, generally nice and clean in the Fort area. Probably won't go out of my way to return unless I'm with friends and they want to go there, or another time (and another bartender).

Peppers Brew Garden & Eatery is yet another one of those places I've long thought about visiting, but now that I've become a Yelp addict I finally made my way into the establishment. Nestled in a nearly vacant strip center across from IHOP and Panera's, Peppers advertises itself as a family friendly establishment and, if another review here is correct, that means that those under 21 can come in for dining until 9pm. I will admit that I find that just a little bit baffling considering as soon as you enter Peppers you arrive at a bar smack dab in the middle of the place with two dining areas on both sides but nothing really resembling a divider between them. However, since I'm not an expert on laws around this kind of thing and the place is still in business I'll assume that it all works out. When I arrived shortly after 5pm on a Thursday, there was one other party sitting at the tables and several other customers sitting at the bar. As the bar area was not wheelchair friendly (too high), I pulled out a chair at one of the tables and waited for someone to arrive. And waited. And waited. And waited. Okay, I'm slightly exaggerating but it wasn't a short wait. Finally, the server arrived after having served the other table a couple of times (and I was within visibility of this other table). While I am short and the bar was definitely higher than me, it still set the tone for the meal. Fortunately, April was friendly and that helped soothe my nerves a bit. She took my drink order, the usual unsweetened iced tea, and gave me time to browse the menu. The menu mainly consists of several different types of burgers ranging in price from $8.95 to $9.50. They also have wings, a few appetizers, a handful of sandwiches (like Philly, Chicken, Fish, etc.), and what they proclaim to be the "Biggest & Best" Tenderloin Sandwich for $8.95. You can add fries to it for $2.00. While I usually get my sandwiches plain, this time around I ordered the tenderloin and got some mayo on the side. I also went ahead and ordered fries for a bill that was just over $14.00. Was it worth it? The honest answer is "kinda." The Tenderloin Sandwich was certainly big (but certainly not the biggest I've had - not even this week). It was on a toasted bun that covered about half the sandwich. The meat had a unique, pleasing flavor and was definitely hand-breaded. It was on the thinner side, but not too thin except for a couple spots on the outer edges. It wasn't a juicy tenderloin, but there was just something about it I really did like. However, you remember that mayo I mentioned? Lo' and behold, they charge extra for it. It's only $.50, but it would have been nice to be told that the condiments you were offering me were an extra charge. It feels a little deceitful and definitely put a damper on the meal. Trust me, I took the $.50 out of the tip (NOTE: Former servers, no need for a hissy fit. I still tipped over 15%). I've heard they have good potato chips - the fries were good, but they were fairly run-of-the-mill fries somewhere along the lines of steak fries but not that thick. It was a pretty decent sized order - a definite plus. I did get an iced tea refill - that's also a plus. While April was decent enough, and she was hindered greatly by being the only server during the first half of my stay, the service overall was pretty much along the lines of "functional." It was consistently slow and didn't make me want to return. The decor at Peppers is very "bar," though they do have an outside dining area that would be cool during the summer. They host music on Saturday nights, with a small stage area and what looks like a dance area to the right when you enter. They also have a small gaming area. As I was winding down my meal, other parties began to arrive with obvious dining intentions and at least 1-2 other staff arrived. So, the service was adequate and consistently slow. Despite my belief that wasn't really the server's fault, it impacted the customer so it needs mentioned. The food was good, but overpriced and charging for mayo was extremely irritating. The tenderloin is definitely in the upper half of area tenderloins, though I've certainly had bigger and better. Still, I enjoyed it. Peppers isn't excellent. Peppers isn't bad. It's a middle-of-the-road dining establishment and a decent watering hole that struck me as a place frequented by "locals" who get to know the staff. I would go there again, but I'll definitely not go out of my way to return. Three stars? That sounds just about perfect.

It wasn't my idea to come here, but my coworker said she was a huge fan. I can't figure out why. My burger very mediocre, which is a shame because some sound pretty appetizing. It didn't taste fresh, and I wouldn't waste my taste buds again. There is one silver lining to Peppers, and that's their homemade potato chips. Why aren't you letting these shine more? Why buy frozen fries when you've actually got a good thing going with your potato chips?! Why not step it up and make your fries hand cut? You're already having to transforming potatoes already! It boggles my mind really. With the chips, I'll be generous and say 2.5 stars.

3 Stars Located in a strip mall conventionally located across from an IHop for those who need to sober up sits Peppers. This bar could probably best be described as an extremely upscale dive bar. Peppers happened to be dead when I decided to stop by for a drink so I am oblivious to the typical vibe of the bar, but it seemed like a locals hangout. The inside had a full bar with seating around the bar and plenty of tables to chose from. The walls were lined with tvs and were positioned so that all seats had optimal views of the screen. There was also a small patio outside when the weather is nice. If your looking for a game of pool, Peppers has a few pool tables as well as a few arcade games, including Golden Tee. They do offer karaoke and a DJ on some nights as well, so be forewarned if that isn't your thing. You might want to check their schedule of events if you wish to either participate in the fun or avoid it. If your looking for a place to get a drink near 56th and Post, it isn't a bad option. Also, if you can't seem to find Peppers, look for the old double decker bus sitting out in the side parking lot.

Ah, where to begin with Peppers. I am not a Lawrence native, but business brings me to that side of town frequently, so of course I am more than enthusiastic for a work break that includes a nice adult beverage (or four). Located in a strip mall on the corner of 56th and Post, this place has promise. It is a large bar with a nice layout, and should be successful - but we'll get to that later. I have visited this bar a handful of times over the past year, and been sorely disappointed in the food, in both cost and quality. The burgers are obviously frozen, yet still will set you back $10- not much money I'll admit, but with all the other superior options around, you can see why this place is struggling. They nickel and dime you over condiments as well; as in one visit where my server did not ask me what sauces I wanted with an appetizer combo, then when the food was brought out explained to me that "its too late, I'll have to charge you for them now". Not angry at the server, she was sweet and attentive, and obviously just following policies set forth by owners. On a positive note, a bar guest next to me ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad, and while more expensive than most comparable bar prices, looked delicious! The other issue with this place is that they can not keep a consistant staff to save their life (or to save their business would be a comment more on the nose). They appear to have a new bartender bi-weekly, which was confusing until I sat through an ordeal that greatly illuminated the problem with Peppers " Brew Garden". The owner's son. I was sitting at the bar, enjoying a (not current, but I like beer) Sam Adams Seasonal, when this guy bursts in through the back door of the kitchen and proceeds to scream at the bartender, server, and kitchen guy (mid-afternoon, there were only three staff members there, so it was especially obvious and awkward). A table behind me in their "family dining" section hurriedly asked for their check at this awkward display, and I just sat there in awe. Screaming at your employees is a bad business move in general (spoken from true experience on both sides of the Executive Suite), but screaming at them in front of your clientele is business suicide. This clown evidently has no care for basic etiquette let alone good business practices-- (and if an attorney heard the derogatory things that I heard him say to female employees in that one rant, that owners son would have a new gig panhandling on an exit off 465). However, the bartenders, a new one each week notwithstanding, have been fun, the servers helpful, and, um, they have TVs? Trying to end on a positive note, and that's all I got folks!

Terribly smokey :( Service sucked. I took me 1/2 hr to get my bill and I only ordered one beer. I leave smelling like a smoker, which I am not. The only the reason I go here is b/c it is a close get together Friday after work on pay day. Not on my highly recommend list ...

The food was pretty good here, with an obviously cooked to order burger. The problem was it took 25 minutes to make the burger in a mostly empty place!
