You stop looking at me like that. I know, I know - Penn Station is a chain and eating at chains while traveling is practically a cardinal sin. But, I had only a few minutes to spare... and my choices including walking a few blocks further or grabbing a Penn Station sub next to my hotel (which would ultimately free 15 extra minutes to take a quick soak in the luxurious tub). What would you do? Uh huh. Priorities! Anyway, the staff was nice enough though one staffer was barking at another woman for ringing people up separately though they were in the same group (awkward!). After ordering my sub, I was told it would be 7-8 minutes. I brought the club sandwich back to my room and ate it (okay, devoured it... I did just drive 3+ hours) while I ran my bath. It was a bit more compact than I anticipated but was loaded with bacon. Dare I say, almost too much bacon! It kind of overshadowed the taste of the other ingredients. But, it did hit the spot. Would I eat at Penn Station again? Probably not with all of the fantastic artisan sandwich crafters out there. But... it was all about the tub in my bathroom at the Conrad.

No ice in the soda machine. No tea made, and the place doesn't close for another two hours. Service kind of crappy. I see why I am the only one here on a Friday night!

Took me 30 minutes just to get my order placed and food on the table. Went in on free cookie day and they ran out of cookies....pretty sure it's free cookie DAY and not free cookie HOUR. Not a Penn Station fan as it is, but this location is SLOW!

Good food. Friendly and good service. Better than subway for sure. But the back seating area smells like smoke, I'm guessing because the employees smoke out the back door near this area.

Potential, but I think we had a bad crew. Lost ticket, no gloves for cooking, uncooked fries, soggy sandwich, LONG wait. They weren't trying tonight. Again, potential- good flavors, just not a good experience for us.

I can't actually rate the food, because after waiting in line for 15 minutes and not getting any closer to placing my order, I had to leave. There were only 2 people working (on a Saturday afternoon) and after asking about the wait, one of the staff members explained they had stopped taking orders until they could get caught up on making the food. There were approximately 10-12 people who had already paid, waiting on their meals. Penn Station is Penn Station and I always stop in during my annual visit home (we don't have them on the west coast), but this was a disappointment. Please, schedule more people to work on a busy weekend afternoon! That wasn't fair to the employees (who were working very hard) or the customers, many of whom just walked out without ordering.

Had lunch at Penn Station today. I am a sandwich FIEND so I'm always in search of a good sandwich. I had the Italian. It was pretty durn good. The small is a decent size, especially if you get fries. The fries were okay, nothing special. With a drink, the whole meal was about $8.50. The place is pretty hoppin at lunch and we waited for about 5-10 minutes before we got to the front of the order line. I was pleasantly surprised at how quick our food was ready once we placed our order.

Awesome Subs. Why does anyone go to Subway anymore. Friendly staff and the food was great. I loved my Italian Sub, and the french fries were some of the best I have ever had. This is located 2 blocks from my office in Indianapolis, I will be back often.

For a quick, delicious lunch right downtown next to the Conrad, you can't beat it. Reliably good service EVERY time. :-)
