Not worth the price. Iced green tea and pastries are great, but sandwich was subpar. Chicken salad didn't even cover the bread, pretty disappointing.

This was a good place to sit and have dinner with me an my friends the other night. The service was exceptionally fast and high quality. The workers called us to get our orders by our names.this was my first experience at Panera, and I would go back in a heartbeat. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes bagels or someone who loves different types of soups.

Get ready for confusion and delay if there's any kind of line. I've learned that Indiana does not handle any aspect of "busy" very well at all. Customers aren't sure what they want or even why they're there. Staff is trying their best just to hang on for the ride. Mistakes abound. Hilarity ensues. Some people take it well, some freak out, sooo fun to watch. Yes they did screw my order up, yes they were quick to correct it for me.... so I can back up the other Yelpers who had that experience here. What more can you ask for really. Pobody's nerfect.

Panera has a good combination of quality and quick service. There are numerous options for breakfast or lunch and the breads are rather delicious. I like the fact that I can get a breakfast sandwich here that actually has vegetables on it rather than just meat or cheese as options. The seating area was reasonably comfortable and not overly busy during my visit.

It seems a little strange to have a location in the heart of downtown...but yet it makes perfect sense with it being connected to Circle Centre Mall. Since I quit smoking I find myself with a lot more time on my hands when I am on break at work. So, I decided that I would enjoy my lunch break here at Panera. I have been here many times before, but usually grabbed my food and headed back to the store. It's been awhile and I noticed most of the staff was different from what I saw before. Sadly, they had the same customer service as the previous people. Its pretty half assed. My food came out quickly, which surprised me. Maybe they weren't as busy as I thought they were. The bread of my sandwich wasn't as toasted as I am used to. It still tasted good, just not what I was expecting. Every time I have gone in there, the place is clean. My issue is always the staff. They just aren't as friendly and happy as other locations.

Everything looks delicious on the website..but not so much in real life. When I walked in, the staff looked frantic and ready to go home. It was ten minutes to closing, and as I passed one of the Panera associates I overheard her say to another associate, "We bout to close..." Then, another associate yelled out- "That's the last order!" Which was fine for me, however I wondered if they absolutely had to close at 7pm on one of the busiest nights of the winter season... College football brings out a different sort of crowd- young, old, crazy, and hangry. As I stood making my order I noticed them turn away at least ten people. With that, Donna was outstanding with her service! I don't know your life, Panera. I do know that possibly not offering overtime would really suck especially for busy nights like that....buuuuuut, moving on (cuz IDK!!!!) Ordering was easy, looking at the total on the register was not. $19 for pasta and a half salad. GIRRRRL I could have bought so much taco meat with $19! Anyway, I did enjoy the flavorful juice beverages offered to the right of the counter. Lots of tea and things, to help you have an amazing day. I didn't, however, enjoy anything about that watered down scary chicken on top, alfredo tortellini. I love food, can't you tell! And, it saddens me when I waltz up in a place (excited) only to be handed something from my 6th grade cafeteria nightmares. Now, I will say I've had soup here and its really good. It's just something about that pasta and watery alfredo sauce with chicken shreds on top that doesn't do it for me. I know that Panera believes in clean eating, and I think we all could use better food ingredients so that's cool. The entire meal would have been a lot better with more robust flavors, herbs, spices going on fused with a bit more TLC. Don't believe the hype about all the food choices...You could make something a little bit better, fresher, faster at home. This place is hit or miss!

Slow, understaffed, frequently messes up orders and/or fails to provide any utensils for "to go" orders. Decided to give them a second (or more like fifth) chance today, and ended up wasting several minutes standing in a line that didn't move (despite it being 1:30 pm) before giving up and leaving.

I found this location while staying in a hotel about five minutes away. We walked in and were greeted and informed that they could take our order whenever we were ready. I ordered the egg white, turkey sausage and cheese sandwich which also came with spinach and tomato. I was able to substitute roasted tomato for the regular slice at no extra charge. I also ordered a caramel latte. The latte was ready within minutes and very good; however I believe they missed my sandwich order as I began to notice several people who had ordered after me being served their orders. I went to check on my food and it appeared that they had just begun cooking it and the guy behind the counter apologized for my wait but instead of taking responsibility for missing my order, he stayed that it was taking a while for the egg to cook -__- I would have appreciated the truth a lot better. Other than that, everything was fine. The venue was large and clean. Most staff members were nice and the food was definitely up to par

I used to frequent this Panera just about every day when I worked in the mall, and they were always really friendly and the food was always super fresh. There are plenty of tables to work at, but caution the wifi is terribly spotty. Panera's are always on my list of places to get a quick, healthy lunch and this is just another one of their locations that makes this task easy for me!

I generally like Panera but this one just made one of the most disgusting sandwiches I've ever had. Smokehouse Turkey panini... Should be called mushy grilled cheese with turkey and extra gross mustard sauce.

Go to this location for quick and polite service. I am not a huge fan of the Panera chain. The food taste and size is only ok for the price. You can get a lot better meals downtown in the same $10 - $12 price range. But if you want a place that you can get to from the indoor tunnels and be in and out quickly, this is a good option. I also love that you can add on a pastry to a meal for $0.99!

Service was INCREDIBLY rude, enough to make me not come to this location again. No eye contact, monotone voices, I could have been speaking to a robot. It was exactly the same when picking up the food (and the food order was wrong). I won't be coming here again, the slogan should be "putting people in bad moods before 10 am"

Favorite restaurant but not here. Terrible service. Soup was cold. Manager did not care. Threw the soup away, bought a bagel. It would have not been so bad but when I went up to talk with the lady at the ordering counter she said they would take care of me. I paid for my bagel and cream cheese. The manager came over and said they could get me more soup but argued that she personally had checked the soup and it was up to temp. I said I did not want more soup because I just purchased a bagel and cream cheese to replace the soup. She said then that I could have soup to go. Oh my!!!

They need to clean their store little bit more, and up the service a bit too.

Very good bagels and bread. The menu is interesting and has some savory combinations. I find the food a little hit or miss. However, they make some killer salads. Great for breakfast with self serve coffee and an espresso bar. This place is roomy with plenty of seating and free wifi. This place is always packed at lunch. The outside seating is great for people watching.

When I checked in to order, the cashier was pretty unfriendly. She did ask my choice of bread or if you wanted to pastry for $99. She almost forgot to ask what side I wanted. She did not give me the buzzer for when my food was ready. Also, a little bit disappointed because the to go portions are smaller than the dine in portions. My sandwich did not have the same bread that I asked for.. I've experience better at other Panera locations.

Had the choose two with the autumn squash soup and the big kid's grilled cheese. I was happy with what I got. The lady working there even gave me a free m and ms cookie. Prices were fair and the baguette that came with my soup was good. I would be a regular here if I worked in the area.

Love, love, LOVE Panera!! I was introduced to Panera when I traveled to LA on a trip a few months ago. The bread, the salads, even the chips...all so yummy! The bread is soft and delish. So when I saw that Panera was in Indianapolis, I was excited! I went there and grabbed me dinner...so fresh, light and tasty!

It's a Panera. And while I'm not a big fan of chains, I do like the tomato soup here, and it's an economical alternative for downtown noshing. Recently discovered their smoothies, and while I don't normally go for anything with concentrates, I'm forgiving after having had the berry smoothie here. They put fresh yogurt in it and I am not sure what else, but this has surprisingly become my favorite place for a smoothie. Spendy, but yummy. About $4.

This location is very disappointing, especially for a Downtown location, which you would expect to be more modern and appealing. 1. The people who work there are rarely friendly, always in a rush, and look totally unprofessional and sloppy-like they just rolled out of bed. 2. Ordering / receiving food here takes quite a while. They must be short staffed. If you are in a hurry, don't come here, especially at lunch or before closing (which is at like 7 pm on weekdays). 3, The location always looks dirty! 4. On my recent visit, they didn't have any coffee drinks or hot chocolate available...?? Overall, 2 stars. Get your act together Panera Downtown Indy!

Panera is one of my favorite chain restaurants! They are pretty consistent and never disappoint. This location is perfect and conveniently attached to the Circle Centre Mall and hotels. Other than Paradise Cafe, there aren't many options when it comes to the deli/soup type spots downtown. So, will it be busy? Of course. Especially when you go in before work or during lunch. For the best experience, I would recommend weeknights or Sundays. Favorite menu items: - Mac & Cheese - Chicken Cobb and Avocado Salad - Tomato Soup (great hangover cure) - Cinnamon Crunch Bagel - Mango smoothie

Great location in downtown Indy. Service was good, bagels were fresh, and coffee was hot. I have no complaints.

Drink machine broken, no avocado, stale croutons, and the baguettes were out. 15 minutes later, they "found" some baguettes. They were hard and not warm. The worst experience I have ever had at a Panera Bread.

I didn't buy anything here. I tried to. See, I'm staying across the street at the Hyatt for a few days, but between wedding-related festivities I really needed to get some work done, which requires internet. The free wifi available in the Hyatt lobby is AOL-dial-up-level slow, and I was unwilling to pay $9.95 to get a few hours of connectivity. So across the street to Panera I went, and ordered a large coffee to both perk me up and make me at least a little less of a mooch. When I pulled out the only bill I had (a $20), the nice man at the counter said "I don't want you to have to break this ... have a great day!" and gave it back to me. I was astounded. I happily filled my coffee up. And now I am typing away, and getting things accomplished, on much faster wifi. That's it, I'll be back tomorrow, and paying for sure.

Average Panera experience. A little crazy when I tried to order--there were lots of slow people ahead of me who didn't know what they wanted but just stood in front of the cash register staring at the menu. Cashier didn't seem to care and I wasn't in a hurry, but if I was, I would have been a little irked. Got the thai chicken salad which came with an apple. Very spicy dressing but nice and fresh.

Very, very busy. Despite that the consistency of the food is more or less what you would expect. Panera is definitely one of the better options when you are traveling or happen to find one.

WOW This place is BUSY!!! It's Panera, like many of the other reviews mentioned, so nothing special... I did try the new BLT and Strawberry Salad, which was pretty filling and delicious. BEST PART: The frozen cherry limeade! WORST PART? That it melted within 5 minutes of me going outside. :/

i like panera....it never wows me....maybe, because i have had it a lot. i think it is really pricey for what you get. things i really like are: thai chicken salad, broccoli cheddar soup, french onion soup, potato soup, sierra turkey sandwich and tuna. i really really like their low-fat strawberry smoothie. i have a hard time not getting it when i go. i think it's pricey at $4....but, it's one of my favorite things there. i always get bread or chips. the apples are always so sad. not sure why they can't get better fruit?!

I had the mini cheese biscuits on an early Sat. morning. The good thing about this place is, it's the only store open super early in the area. The mini biscuits were fresh, although I wish they would of offered to toast them. They were also super cheap, $2 for 2/3 mini biscuits. Good place to stop in to get a bite and hot drink.

No matter what Panera Bread Company I go to, the food is consistent. They always have good soups, salads and sandwiches. Overall, they have a nice menu, comfortable atmosphere with consistent food and service.

The only thing this place has going for it is that it's fast. The food is blah, the coffee cups are disposable, and the ambiance is corporate. It's like a Starbucks: terrible.

Panera is panera is panera. The tomato soup is my favorite and while it lasts during the summer, the strawberry salad is fantastic. Every restaurant should adopt putting calories on the menu, it certainly makes a difference sometimes when deciding on what to get. For breakfast, the cinnamon crunch bagel with cream cheese cannot be beat. I also recommend the beacon egg and cheese on an asiago cheese bagel.

Among the worst Panera's I've been to. They repeatedly screw up my orders, but are quick to apologize and fix the situation. This place is just too busy for their own good. Too many other options out there, so I'd recommend going somewhere else.

This is my secret chain restaurant addiction. I can rationalize this problem by letting you all know I don't get any of the delicious looking baked goods or bagels that are seductively displayed behind the drool glass guard. We go here when we are poor and/or really want a huge salad. During the winter I do require some broccoli cheese soup in a bread bowl on occasion. After a long day of shopping at the thrifts, sometimes I just need a no thinking meal. Voila! Panera! I really want to give it 3 1/2 stars. I can't give them the full 4 b/c there are some better places more deserving of 4 stars. I hang my head in slight embarrassment, kick at the ground with the toe of my shoe, and mumble, "I like Panera."

The iced green tea is one of my most favorite beverages of all time. I love their sandwiches and soups. For a quick bite while knocking around downtown Indy go this Panera. Staff is great and so friendly and the food is tasty.

Same as any other Panera. Fresh, overpriced food. Usually hit them up once a week. The downtown Indy location is horrible at special orders. The staff either can't read or do not understand the word "plain" 50 percent of the time. Otherwise good location and quick service.

  • B R.

This location just opened up in the circle centre mall. It's pretty standard lunch fare (soup, salads, sandwiches), and it's very comparable to the Paradise bakery nearby. I like Panera's bread a little better.
