I've heard people rave about these far too long to not have tried one in all these years. I'm not so enamoured of bread, though, so it wouldn't be my first place to try. However, friends went on about the soup and sandwiches and salad, so here I was. The exterior of the building has a cutesy, trendy 1990s look that certainly beckons to the Will & Grace and Friends crowd. Inside, it's very similar. I was quickly met by a rather perky woman behind the counter who seemed to lose her smile when I told her I'd never been at a Panera Bread. "Oh, no, I'll have to work at it!" She told me about the half meal/pick 2, where I could get a bowl of soup and half a sandwich or salad. That sounded fine, so I ordered the Ham and Swiss, even though she suggested the Turkey, and I got the broccoli cheese soup, which is usually good anywhere. "For 99 cents, you can get a baked goodie." so I did. In any case, with half a sandwich, soup, medium soda, and baked treat, I was up to $10.43 without breaking a sweat. Of course, because it's almost a self-serve joint, you don't have to tip but you have to go retrieve your food, unlike Hardee's across the street where they bring it to your table. So, I got my drink, sat down, and I was thinking about some great Italian Ham and Swiss Cheese and great bread, and someone called my name rather quickly. I went to the counter and I took my lovely melamine tray to my table. Kitty must be missing her milk bowl because surely that was the tiny bowl they used for my soup. The sandwich bread was a good size, for a half, but it had perhaps 2 slices of ham and one slice of cheese, with tomatoes, onion, and lettuce. At this time, I was ready to laugh because I'd been fooled. My adoptive mum used to bake bread every day and she'd put meat and cheese and tomato, onion, and lettuce on my sandwich if I'd eat it. She'd even make some Campbell's soup. She could have been making a fortune with a cold sandwich and hot soup! The soup was okay, but I can say that many places have better soup. I can't say that I can open a can of soup that's better but I can probably use an Archer Farm kit from Target and make better soup. I know that I can get a better sandwich from the Target deli. I'm still wondering why the extra lopped-off baguette roll was added, but apparently, it's an automatic thing. They should hold the extra bread and add some meat or cheese to the sandwich. The short roll was good and so was the brownie but exquisite? No. It's average food, served cheaply but not on paper or styrofoam, and priced for the atmosphere.

Great breakfast outing with girlfriends. Can't believe how often they are out of bagel flavors.

This is written based off a large catering order. I called the day of the order needing 25 boxed lunches within the hour. I cannot complement the branch enough for accommodating this order. They also have two liters with saved another stop and less to fill out on an expense report later. The sandwiches were all prepared to order, salads with the dressing on the side and assortment of ships and cookies to allow people to trade for their favorites. The catering manager even helped me carry the bags to my car. Big shout out to the entire staff.

I've visited several different Paneras & this one is by far, the worst. Due to the nasty tables, I was apprehensive as to the cleanliness of the kitchen where our food was prepared. We visited around 5pm, the place was pretty empty & all the tables were dirty. The place seems to be ran by teenagers, as I didn't see one adult the entire time we were there. The employees were rude, if you hate your job THAT much, please for the sake of the rest of us, find another job. We will never be visiting again, which is unfortunate as its very close to our home, but I would rather drive to another Panera.

This is my secret chain restaurant addiction. I can rationalize this problem by letting you all know I don't get any of the delicious looking baked goods or bagels that are seductively displayed behind the drool glass guard. We go here when we are poor and/or really want a huge salad. During the winter I do require some broccoli cheese soup in a bread bowl on occasion. After a long day of shopping at the thrifts, sometimes I just need a no thinking meal. Voila! Panera! I really want to give it 3 1/2 stars. I can't give them the full 4 b/c there are some better places more deserving of 4 stars. I hang my head in slight embarrassment, kick at the ground with the toe of my shoe, and mumble, "I like Panera."

Nice meeting place, smells great every time you enter. Service is great, they don't act as if you are irritating them when a mistake is made and they have to remake your food. Friendly environment. The wifi kicks you off after a few hours but if you log in again you can use it for a while longer. That's the only negative.

ALERT - 5 stars from me. :) I hadn't had Panera in a while and was happy when my wife suggested I run out and get some breakfast from Panera. I wandered in about 8.30 am and was surprised to find only one person in line. The gals behind the counter were pleasant and made small talk with me while we figured out what all I wanted. While I could have went for a breakfast sandwich or something else.. their bagels are too good to pass up. I walked out with a couple asiago and cinnamon crunch bagels. For $5 or whatever it was, breakfast doesn't get a whole lot better (unless its homemade biscuits and gravy!) The location is ok.. not the best for some people, but its convenient for me. The location was clean and well kept and staffed with friendly workers. Overall a good experience and good food.

One of my favorite restaurants around. Panera Bread does a fantastic job of creating such a laid back atmosphere while still serving fantastic food. The broccoli and cheddar soup and sandwich combo is my favorite. The wait during lunch time can be on the long side, but the food is definitely worth the wait. A must try!

I have been a regular early morning visitor of this location for some time. I am normally willing to wait in the lines because of the quality of the baked goods. However, I regret that for the last couple of visits, one particular associate has been not only incompetent but this morning rude. I ordered to large coffees and a small loaf of sesame bread. She handed me to small coffee cups and proceeded to slice a sesame bagel. When I corrected her that I had ordered a small loaf of bread, she frowned and let out a long loud sigh. ( No apology). She proceeded to get a large loaf of the bread instead of a small loaf and started to slice it. I notified another associate of the situation and saw her groan and frown when her associate handed her the small loaf. Again no apology when she returned and corrected the order on the register. Panera Bread is a place of quality and should seek improvement objectives for employees not willing or able to perform in an acceptable manner.

If you have a taste for awesome baked goods, then this is the place for you. In all my nerdness I find myself stopping off at Game Stop and then heading a couple doors down to enjoy a delicious baked good. They also have soup and sandwich combos that are sure to please.

I am not much of a Panera fan, but this is where my wife wanted to stop. The inside was quiet, clean and relatively empty of customers. The staff were courteous and our food was delivered quickly and as ordered. They appear to have wi-fi available as well. I recommend the place for those interested in their menu selection.

I've not been to a Penera Bread but always felt it was upscale and yuppified. It is certainly the latter but only upscale in price. This Greenwood location was a dump. The trash bins were filled to the brim and there was crud all over the drink station. I knew the prices were going to be high but I expected cleanliness. I also felt that the cashier beleived I was just lucky to be a patron. I won't go back to any Panera. -G

Yeah, it's a chain restaurant, but you know what?- I love it, and if you want to give me shit for it I will force feed you their black and bleu cheese salad until you agree with me. It won't take long. Everything Panera makes is fresh and delicious. Their salads are some of the best around. The Black and Bleu: "Seared top sirloin, romaine, frizzled onions, tomatoes & gorgonzola, tossed with blue cheese vinaigrette and drizzled with a cabernet reduction." I don't care how much you hate chains.- Your mouth is watering. Mine is. The bread is good, the sandwiches, the soups are awesome, and the salads are slap-your-mama-good. I am consistently surprised at how fresh everything is and the quality of the ingredients. This place proves that a chain restaurant can produce quality food and any chain that isn't is simply doing so because they don't give a fuck.

I love going to Panera for lunch and recently, after being persuaded by their ad campaign, decided to give their breakfast a try. They have the best "fast food" breakfast sandwiches of anywhere I've been. I highly recommend the grilled ciabata sandwich with egg, Applewood bacon and cheese. If you're used to getting breakfast sandwiches at other places, you're in for a pleasant surprise- the eggs actually look and taste like real eggs! Also, the ciabata bread is much better than a greasy biscuit or croissant - your hands won't be all disgusting after you get done eating. I'm sure they are still really high in calories, but the Panera breakfast sandwiches don't make you feel as guilty! I tried the spinach & artichoke souffle for the first time yesterday. It was good -- a sweet & flaky pastry on the outside with eggs, cheese, spinach and artichoke inside. But, I would go for the breakfast sandwich over the souffle -- it is more filling and just generally tastes better to me. I usually go to the Panera in Fishers on 96th Street, but this weekend went to the one on Southport Road and found that the Fishers location is much faster with getting your order ready. Either way, try the breakfast sandwiches!

This is a pretty good lunch place. Nothing to go out of your way for. Get Smoked Turkey Boob on Country. It's good.

I could drink their green tea w lite ice everyday and almost do!! Their new soup with cage free eggs, lentil and kale is out of this world! MUST HAVE I have had mistakes in my order but their service goes above and beyond to make it right. As much as I eat there, No, fast food is perfect. This is a place I can take my whole family and they always find something the LOVE.

This location consistently gets my order wrong, they forget my dessert when I order take out, service is slow and today they didn't have bread bowls but they still let the two people in front of me order them. I ordered the power chicken hummus, I was extremely disappointed since there was almost no hummus in it. Worst Panera location ever!!

So I'm a fan of this place. I really am. They've updated their menu and brought back a lot of old favorites. It's becoming more cafe style with the adding of pastas. Just not your average soup/sandwich/salad place. The food I have no issues with. It's a great variety of options and always a good go to when I can't really think of what I want for lunch. The service is extremely lacking at this Panera from where it used to be. The staff isn't super friendly and is often rather rude with the exception of one or two employees. Most recently this week I was in here and the ice in the machine was stuck and two employees stood there while people were banging on the machine and trying to unclog the ice. Neither offered to help. One was a manager and she didn't say a word...she just stood there wide eyed. The ice machine kept running and once it was unclogged it flew out of the machine and all over the place....minor avalanche out of the ice machine and the manager walks away. Leaving ice on the floor and just a mess that could have been prevented. The ice machine actually smelled like it was on fire. I'm not a fan of the apathy and lack of customer service I have experienced here several times over last few visits. Makes me question returning.
