So I am a Starbucks junkie but also appreciate the local coffee places. My sister took me here last wk and I am still thinking about Monon Coffee! I think this is the second location in Indy (original in Broad Ripple) and it's located on the corner of 25th and Central right next to a yoga place. When we went in I was overtaken with it's modern and bright décor. Plus there were no hipsters which is always a plus since it looks like it could be a hipster haven. But then again, it was pretty early and I don't think hipsters wake up until 10am. Enough of that though.....let's talk java! They have the same drinks you will find anywhere else but also had some obscure sounding ones such as the Mona Lisa and Con Panna. I asked the barista what the Mona Lisa was and once he told me, I was on it like white on rice. Turns out it is a latte with honey and cinnamon. Hmmm....I always put cinnamon in my coffee but honey? I've never had honey in coffee only tea so why not give it a shot. And it was absolute heaven. I must find a place in Charlotte that can make this drink the same as Monon does it. There was only one barista working there and he took his time with making the drink but if you give me pleasant conversation and a drink made with love, I will definitely support your business!

I don't drink coffee. I don't like the taste or the smell. But we were pressed for time to grab a quick breakfast, and I figured I could drink tea. I was THRILLED that they had brewed iced tea ever at 8 a.m. So many places only have hot tea at breakfast. Their house blend was a great tropical kind. Bonus -- they had agave nectar, which melts into cold drinks so much easier than sugar or honey. Here's the crazy part -- apparently I like coffee. If you are not a coffee drinker, but you like sweet stuff and a caffeine buzz, may I introduce the white zombie. It is made with white espresso, which the barista explained is roasted for a shorter period of time, making for less "coffee" taste and....MORE caffeine than black espresso. The white zombie is made with white espresso, milk, and some other things he listed but I ignored because I heard "espresso" and assumed yucko. But thankfully hubby ordered it and made me try it. It tastes like butterscotch milk and is the most phenomenal "coffee" drink you will ever have. I ordered another one after I finished my iced tea. Four more customers came in, and two of them ordered the zombie. It must be their big thing. They also have bagels and muffins, which were both good. I think all or some of their pastries come from Rene's Bakery. A great way to start your day! Bonus -- bike rack right in front. Also connected to the Indy's Kitchen, so you can smell the food truck fare cooking up.

An excellent cup of coffee in a sunny location! I also appreciate the gluten-free baked goods available at the counter. The service is always excellent. I only wish the hours were slightly extended. Some of us like our afternoon coffee run when it's cold outside and Monon isn't always open afternoons.

The brewed coffee here is spectacular. Take some time to talk with whoever's behind the counter. They're always super nice.

Don't miss this place! Though small, it is conveniently located on your commute downtown in the mornings. You are sure to run into someone you know, and if you want to avoid the regular crowd, this is a good place. Attached to a community kitchen, this place creates a homey feel and great place to reflect and relax. William, the owner, is often there helping out and makes sure you get what you asked for. Loose leaf teas are great. Only thing that would make this place more accessible would be additional hours.

First of all, moment of silence for Corner Coffee, the first place I ever had a chai, and the little restaurant that awoke a need in me to seek out businesses that are owned by people in my community. What does that have to do with the Monon Coffee Company? Not much, except that they're close geographically and I love the Indy's Kitchen connection. Plus, every time I go in there, I end up squealing over some new discovery. Today, it was the fact that they sell Scratchtruck's bacon marmalade. Like the old lady with her Frank's Red Hot sauce, I put that $hit on everything. My drinks are always executed properly, I usually grab and go and that's nice, and love how sunshiny it always looks. It doesn't replace Corner Coffee as being first in my affections, but I have room in my heart for all.

Really great place to hang out while waiting for my yoga class to start next door. Masala chai with honey is good. Selection here is really really limited compared to the Broad Ripple location and they don't have hot food, so that's why I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars.

Called the number listed on this page for the location and asked if they were open, which they said they were. Walked quite a while to find out they were closed. Called again and was told, 'oh well that number on the page is wrong so not sure what to tell you '. Was unappreciative of the attitude and will not even try this place now

Let me preface this review by saying I am a huge proponent of supporting local businesses, I think it's important to the community and promotes economic growth. I've been here several times and have always been underwhelmed; however, this morning was the final straw. After a quick stop in for a latte I was greeted with a longer than usual line and a subpar welcome. I ordered a 16 oz latte with skim milk. I was asked if I wanted 1 or 2 shots which I found odd. If I wanted 1 shot wouldn't I have ordered a 12 oz latte? Someone my $3 latte ended up becoming a $4....how is that? Was I charged for an extra shot? I wouldn't know because I was not offered my receipt. I make for more allowances because I am such a huge supporter of small businesses. I get home and take a sip of the latte and it taste like a medium roast coffee not an espresso shot. Aerated milk and a medium roast coffee for $4. I am extremely disappointed and will not be frequenting this business at either of their locations again. I am a certified barista trainer and am very knowledgable about the difference. Never again!

I've lived about 2 blocks from this place for close to two years. I had my FIRST EVER drink from them over this past weekend. Why? Not for lack of trying. First, the hours are ridiculous. They close at noon. Don't plan on coming here to study or read in the afternoon. I get it...it's part of Indy's Kitchen. The kitchen and the dining room can be rented out. But really? NOON? Second, the service is ridiculously slow. So the 2-3 times I did manage to show up "on time," I waited about 15 minutes to order and was still behind several people, and I left. The drink I chose was chai. My favorite. The chai was watered down, bland, and not hot. Impressive, Monon Coffee Co....three failures in one drink. The pumpkin bread was good though. I like the atomic age boomerang patterns on the table tops. I'm finishing on a positive note.
