Dranks... Strong! My boyfriend doesn't drink but I'm kind of an alcoholic and I had one of their Texas 16 oz margaritas and I was feeling right... And my bf was legit, eyes glazed over drunk. Their shrimp tacos were ok.. Shrimp was cooked and seasoned well but they literally just throw them on two Flour or corn quesadillas and there you go! Three shrimp tacos. I asked for lettuce on the side to add to it. The guacamole is not fresh but ok... Salsa is thick and chips were decent. Service was good and usually I look for a spot to make stronger margaritas but holy damn... These knocked us both on our ass. Oh... 4 stars bc there were fruit flies and reg flies once the food came out. Otherwise it was legit.

This place is not a bad stop for Mexican food. Very clean, easy to read detailed menu and kind staff. We had a large party and some of the food was not hot at delivery. Although the place was not crowded at all, the waiters could have checked in with us more often. With a smaller group maybe a 4 person family I think it would be a lot better.

Great food, friendly staff... What's not to like! I stopped in for an early dinner on Saturday afternoon. I was the only one seated at the bar. The staff made sure I had something to watch on the TV and stopped by to chat and refill my basket of chips. I ordered the combo plate. For 9.99, you get two overflowing plates of food. Everything was fresh and hot. I had to get a box to take the leftovers back to the hotel. I managed to two more meals out of the portion I took out. I will be hit this place for lunch and dinner next time I'm in Indy !!

Solid Mexican food at a solid price. I come here on occasion for lunch and I must say, the steak burrito special is where it's at. A *sanely* portioned burrito with rice is about as much as I need to feel full, and the price is not shabby either, around $7. The chips and salsa are very good - I get mine with some fresh made guacamole that has a bit of a kick to it, which I like. And the service is friendly and very attentive, never have an empty glass or chip basket! I've noticed that the quality of the food has gone up over the last couple of months. I'm not sure what prompted the change but I like. This is a great and affordable stop for lunch or dinner - check out the lunch specials, you'll be pleased.

I've been to Los Rancheros twice; once with my fiancé's mother (they thought we were a couple, but that's a story for another time) and about 2 weeks ago with my fiancé. Both times the restaurant has been pretty much empty, but that could be because it was late afternoon. Food was good, reasonably priced, and quick service. I was disappointed they didn't have tamales (they were out, boo), which I have been craving for weeks, but I was happy with my meal. I had a enchilada, chicken taco with rice and beans on the side for around 8 bucks. I wasn't too happy with the salad which turned out to be just a handful of shredded lettuce and a slice of a tomato. Other than that I was happy with my meal. I think there might be a bar on the other side of the restaurant so it might be a good place to have a private party or maybe happy hour with friends.

Solid Tex-Mex Had the steak platter and asked for cheese sauce on top - really tasty! It's basically a large burrito, lean steak with rice and a 'salad' (loose term for lettuce and tomato). We had re-fried beans and they were excellent. For any inexpensive Tex-Mex restaurant, the thing that usually lacks is flavor, and there was plenty of flavor in this dish. Service was also very friendly, accommodating, and fast. Will be back.

This is a fine mexican place for a lunch crowd. The chips are standard the salsa isn't the greatest but not the worst either. It's not a spicy as prefer but it will do. The cheese dip is ok at best. I get the arroz con pollo when I go there. Its is ok but not up to par with places like Puerto Vallarta. The lunch dishes seem to be the better bet as the tacos, enchiladas, and burritos are a much safer option. Bottom line. Its ok for lunch but if you have the time you should drive to Puerto Vallarta for dinner.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
