I had a very strange experience at LongHorn's a few day ago. I've gone to this place for lunch many times before, both alone and with others. Maybe Mercury is headed back into retrograde or something because the experience there was like some warped time-travel backwards into a time where waiters have a very 'Stepford' feel to them and robots are the cooks. Seems a bit of front & backwards travel. I knew what I wanted when I arrived: Potato soup & their Mexican corn on the cob. Our waiter was fresh off Wayward Pines. At first he seemed nice and then he turned into this pushy (but still 'friendly') know it all. When I stated I wanted the potato soup, he tried to sell me on one of the lunch deals they have. I had already looked at them (and then there's the fact that I'm no stranger to LongHorn) and decided I didn't want them. Nonetheless my waiter tried endlessly to get me to purchase one. He explained the prices of each as well as the price of my soup and the price of the corn (despite this knowledge being printed on the huge menu). After skimming back over the three lunch selections (for his humor), I ordered (as in stated 'this is what i want) a cup of soup (which was greeted with a low volume but disappointed 'a cup?!!!' ) and the corn on the cob. I was told the price of the corn was $5.23 (?). I looked at the menu and said that's not what it says ($3.99) to which he explained this was the "after taxes" price. Tired of the friendly combative and pushy nature of the waiter, I ordered the cheapest lunch meal that came w/the soup and a salad. I didn't want a salad. No corn could be substituted but he called my attention to all the other options available. He seemed surprised at my order of Potato Soup, although I'm positive I had mentioned it twice. He won. He was happy I guess. From there, he spent a lot of time at our table. I would venture to say I've never had so much useless waiter interaction before. I am not sure if they are asked to suggest the lunch specials to the customers, but I found that very odd and it put me off from my meal. I did not order what I went for and treated me like I came bearing an "I am poor" sign. My sister had a coupon for a free appetizer. He seemed eager to put our checks on the same tab although we told him that we wanted separate checks, he insisted that using the coupon would be better if they were both on one. He also assumed it was a different coupon than it actually was. After examining it, he determined that an entree needed to be ordered to use the coupon, once again suggesting ONE check because I was the only one with an 'entree, which this time my sister conceded to just to 'humor' him; again. He said he needed manager's approval and went to get her for just that. After he approval, he came back to the table and let us know that typically the lunch specials aren't considered 'entrees' and that basically the manager hooked us up and didn't have to. It was such a warped, distorted experience. Nothing made sense. I asked for a glass of water and he gave me a lemonade. Maybe he was having an off day. I won't pretend to know or understand why we were treated with such an awkward experience and I won't throw out opinionated accusations as to why. I will say I've never had such a weird experience w/LongHorn before and if I had to base my future visits off of this one, I probably wouldn't go back. The waiter was nice....but he was ...off. I don't know if that's the way he treated everyone, but for us, we prefer our waiters to take our orders with respect; NOT try to overpower our appetites with their own agenda. Color me disappointed. FOod was good although my appetite was kind of ruined. I took it to go and ate it for dinner....in the privacy of my home, far far away from the Stepford Waiter.

I have been to my share of steak houses including Long Horn, however the service is very bad at this location. I arrived at 6:00 and wasn't seated till 6:35 mind you they had more then 6 empty booths when I was seated and other people waiting in the lounge area still to be seated. When we were seated the server forgot our waters then brought out the bread for our table of three with out any bread plates ? We waited to get plates about 10 minutes that's how long before any waiter was in my vicinity to get the attention of, we ordered two porterhouse steak meals and the Mahi Mahi which was so dry the steaks were delicious the drinks came late and out waiter never refilled our drinks the whole 2 hrs we were they're the manager came by after seeing Me depressed looking and I told him how my salad was soaked in Cesar and I didn't eat it we never got more bread or refills and we waited really long for the food he complimented my appetizer but I won't be coming back I can deff recommend longhorn in avon or castleton over this location 100%

So I'm in town on business, and dining solo. It's always tough dining out alone, but a restaurant bar is usually a good place for a lone wolf to get good service and a bite to eat. Not here. I went in for a steak dinner, and was never offered so much as a glass of water while I waited. What's worse than bad service? No service at all. A couple a few seats down from me had been there longer than I had, and they were in the same boat. They had no drinks, and nobody ever even acknowledged our presence. We left at the same time, after I had been sitting at the bar for about 15 minutes. I usually get great service at other Longhorn locations, but not here.

2 stars cause the food and service were good. The letdown was when the Kentucky Derby started, they refused to turn up the volume. "Corporate policy." Really? Can't listen to sports for 2.5 minutes? Obviously not concerned about return customers:(

My favorite nearby value steakhouse. Much better than Texas Roadhouse or Outback! I always get the bone-in ribeye. Calamari is also very good. Great value, quality, and price.

Chocolate stampede for dessert very good. Typical steak house. Nice wait staff, and a wooded dark interior, cozy and quiet. nothing to be impressed about though.

NEVER GOING BACK. DISGUSTED!!!! The hostess was extremely rude and told us we weren't allowed to sit in the bar and then the couple after us were seated in the bar! When we got the bread it was good until I bit into a STRAW WRAPPER! BAKED IN the bread!!!! After that I couldn't eat anything else without being disgusted. Feeling VERY sick !!

Just had dinner. Won't be back! EVER The hub and I stopped in for a quick bite. Let me emphasize the word, quick. Walked in, and was sat quickly. We ordered our appetizer and dinner within 5 minutes. Then waited, and waited, and waited some more. An hour later our food showed up. I wasn't even hungry anymore. I boxed mine, but hub had to eat he was starving. His steak was under cooked, and one of the fattiest steaks I've seen served in a restaurant. Our server dropped our food so fast, I didn't have time to ask him for a fork and a to go box. The waiting continued. He finally came back to the table to check. We had to grab a fork for another table, but he did bring me a box. We'd had it. Dinner was over, we were u happy, and tired. We were still waiting to ask for our check. Another server noticed us looking around, and asked if we had a problem. I told her we just wanted our check. She asked if we would like to speak to a manager, and I said no. The manager did come over, and said nothing about our half eaten meal, our service or wait time. We paid and left 1.5 hours later. Hungry, upset, and out almost $50. We won't be back.

Much more enjoyable than Outback for a chain. My husband and I recently gave this restaurant a whirl and we enjoyed our experience. Our service was prompt and great. I ordered a steak that was cooked a little more rare than I had asked for but I was okay with that. I loved the mixed vegetables that came with my meal. I often feel that restaurants have resorted to canned vegetables for sides and here I got an assortment of zucchini, squash, snapped peas, and broccoli. I love my veggies!! My husband got a steak as well and said his was very good and overall we really enjoyed our experience and we will be going back again. Definitely going here over Outback but will debate between here and Texas Roadhouse! :)

LongHorn is definitely our favorite steakhouse, but often the Salmon is a great healthy choice. This LongHorn is very up to date and everyone is friendly. Service always is fast and the food is always perfect. A great place to relax and get a great dinner.

Great food! This is one of our favorite places to go. We always have a great meal. We typically like to get the chips with the bbq dip as an appetizer and then we like either the Cheeseburger, Pork Chops, or Chicken. We have usually had really good service. Occasionally you get a bad apple but soon find out that they don't last very long. They have a great kids menu for our daughter and they always bring her meal out before ours comes out. One personal touch I really like is probably 75% of the time we go here, the manager stops by our table to see if everything is ok. It's been the same manager for atleast the last 5 or 6 years.

After turkey leftovers for over a week, my favorite dining companion and I decided it was time for some steak and to try someplace new. Food: What you would want from a steakhouse. Steak cooked as asked, salads crisp, appetizers tasty. Blah, blah, blah. Over-shadowed by service (oh, just wait and see). Decor: Very cozy, great color scheme, beautiful dark wood and dim lighting. Very classy, unlike the server (it's coming up...) Service: Oh. My. Goodness. The other servers looked like they might be quite competent; however, we got stuck with the guy who should probably find a new job. I tend to offer leniency in the service department, but this was ridiculous! It took a long time before he even showed up to our table, then after much waiting someone else came to explain about how my drink cannot be made (I guess lemonade machines will break even in a newer restaurant?). We did not receive our bread basket until well after people seated at least 15 minutes after us. Nothing came out particularly warm. When the ribeye came out without its onions and mushrooms, we had to ask twice about it, and didn't receive it until our sides were finished. We also had to ask twice for everything else from refills to steak sauce. We had to micromanage this server by the end of the visit! Then, as if it could not get any worse/more awkward: he used profanity. I will directly quote what he said when we received our bill: "Sorry everything was so shitty." Say what? Hold on, let me pop my eyes back into their sockets. No, "everything" was not "shitty," your service was. Not only that, I'm sure the elderly couple behind us did not appreciate your language. Thankfully the children in the restaurant were out of earshot. I'm not your frat bro. Even at McDonald's profanity is unacceptable. I figured this was one of those unwritten codes of common sense in the service world (I had been a server myself for many years). While an apology for bad service is appreciated, risking offending someone with a four-letter word in your vague apology is just plain shocking! Would I come here again? While the food was good, the decor was cozy, and the seats were comfortable, I know that I can get a steak of that caliber with service to match somewhere else...so....probably not anytime soon. And if I do, I'll prepare myself for the language.

Longhorn used to be really great. My husband and I would go here for a special treat. Recently though, it seems as if service and food has been getting lackluster, and prices are going higher. When we go, we always get the same appetizer. It is shrimp, fried, coated in garlic butter and served mixed with pickled (I think)cherry peppers. It is served with ranch dressing. Delicious! I never have anything wrong with this, it always comes out hot and fresh. When we went, our server wasn't busy at all. There were two other tables in our section. It took him forever to get us refills, to get us bread, to pretty much get us anything. I am incredibly lenient as far as what I would say is bad service. I know when a waiter or waitress is swamped, and I give them the benefit of the doubt. This guy, was just strolling along, talking to random people and co-workers. Our steaks were a disappointment. We both chose the outlaw cut at the larger size with "prairie dust" (their signature salt blend) sprinkled on it. Mine was tough and gristly. It was smaller than usual. It just wasn't satisfying. There are a ton more steak places here in Indy that take better care of their customers and have better steak than this place.

They have a gluten free menu and take good care to prepare what you order. Longhorn is one of my favorite steak places. Their filet has been perfectly cooked every time I have ordered. My love and I sometimes split a porterhouse which has always been yummy.

3.5 Stars. Steak gets a 4 star. I ordered the shrimp and lobster chowder and the outlaw ribeye I thought the shrimp and lobster chowder was ok, was flavorful but just wasn't my thing. I felt it could have been hotter and had more shrimp and lobster in it. The potatoes were soft and the corn was firm. The outlaw ribeye on the other hand was nicely grilled and the perfect medium steak. It was juicy and tender with a nice bit of chargrill on the steak. The sides I ordered was fries and rice pilaf, nothing really significant about the sides in my opinion. Overall, service was good and food came promptly, I would come here again for the steak.

Upscale southwestern decor - feels clean and comfortable. Nice bar. We've been here many times in the past and the filet mignon has always been good and is "only" 17 - the same prices as the sirloin. However, our last visit we tried the sirloin, which was salty, greasy, gristly, tough, and undercooked. Not good for your signature steak dish. Food was also incredibly slow to come out--it took an hour and a half end to end which was about 20 minutes of eating, the rest waiting. Service was very good, but doesn't make up for how slow the kitchen was, especially considering how empty this place was on a Friday night. Overall, just not a good value for greasy gristly, salty steak given the entree prices are all around $20. There are much cheaper casual steekhouses that have better steak (e.g. Logan's Roadhouse, which is half to a third the cost -- 2 steak entrees for $15 all day M-W and every day before 6).

One of the all-time worst restaurant experiences EVER. I can't tell you anything about the food because after being seated and waiting for an hour, our entrees had not arrived. We asked our server at about 30 mins how long it would be and were told "just a bit longer". This was our first AND LAST time at this restaurant.
