This is not munch of a place to look at, but these people take a huge amount of pride in making amazing ribs. There were two men working outside in the heat smoking meat. The smell is intoxicating so I take the dogs and open the windows while waiting on our order. The spicy version of the sauce is spicy, but amazing if you like a little heat. The only thing I would change is that I wish this location would start serving the collard greens they have at the 16th street location.

Others have said it, and it's true, these are not fall off the bone tender ribs. But they're lacking in that, they make up for it with they're amazing, authentic smoky flavor. There is literally someone outside smoking this meat as you order! The BBQ sauce is slightly spicy, which I love. The Mac and cheese IS amazing, the baked beans are great too. Honestly, I think the chicken is the star! I don't think the prices are amazing, but it's totally worth it.

got the rib dinner special with potato salad and slaw. slaw was good, a bit watery, and the potato salad was very mustardy and had a good bit of potato hunks left, so a good texture. spicy sauce was not at all spicy. I like a bit of gristle on my ribs, so these delivered, however, some cartilage was still on the bone. could've done without the inedible parts. HOWEVER, I've been dealing with food poisoning all night and morning. will not be back.

Best Mac n cheese....ever! Hear me? Ever! Nom nom nom OK, let me back up and describe this place. It's basically a backyard BBQ with a drive up window. As you drive up, behind the little window place you'll see the smoke stacks as the guy in back BBQs your ribs. The menu is pretty simple but gets right to the point. Do you want ribs or do you want rib tips? There's some other stuff there but....c'mon child....you really want the ribs. Mild or spicy? What sides do you want. You'll get the best ribs you've ever had, doused in sauce with two slices of white bread, some AMAZING mac n cheese and slaw. Don't forget to order a purple drank to go with. This is truly amazing stuff. I mean it.

We ordered the rib dinner, pork on a bun, Mac n cheese, baked beans, and cole slaw. Mac n cheese is worthwhile to prostitute yourself out for! The meat on the ribs had great flavor but was as tender as the bottom of my nikes. Pulled pork had a sweet taste and was overall very good. Baked beans were okay, cole slaw was very creamy and I would not gets those again (they have an after taste like lake water). The overall experience of getting BBQ in an abandoned car wash is special, worth a try!

I was attending an event at the fairgrounds and found this place online. I didn't know what to expect. First off, a bit of a tip that I didn't know until I got there. This is not a sit down place. You have two options: drive thru window or walk up window. So I wound up having to eat in my car but this was a small price to pay. As for the food it was outstanding. I ordered the 1/2 slab and a side of mac and cheese. When I first saw the ribs I was a little thrown when they were spare ribs but I was over that almost immediately. They were smokey, spicy and tender. The sauce matched the ribs nicely. Now I did make one mistake, I only ordered a small mac and cheese. Oh my word, I can't remember the last time I have had mac and cheese this good with out walking into my grandmother's house. It was perfect. I love finding little whole-in-the-wall local places and this is what this is. It looks like a converted car wash which was a bit off putting but when I saw the billowing smoke from the back, I was sure I was in for a treat. Overall I will be back the next time I find myself in the area with a hankerin' for ribs. TL;DR Don't judge a book by it's cover. Great ribs, perfect mac and cheese. Take out style awesomeness.

I admit....rib preference is very subjective. With that said i have found another would be rib joint. And to think a pig gave his life for this......SMH. Ribs- not very hot, tender but fatty (y'all should trim more before cooking) Rib Tips - boney and (see comments above) Sauce - kind of sweet but no heat on it. heck small kids from spicy cultures could lick this sauce off a nipple straight out ta the shoot.

4 stars for what it is. Down-to-earth takeout Q. Most everything is good except the tips in my opinion. Mild or mixed (hot and mild) are good choices. Very messy, good sauce, good sides, and most everything is good except the tips in my opinion. I would recommend pulled pork sandwich but don't think you're gonna eat it without a fork. Chicken and ribs are good.

I would give 5 stars if they would bring the prices down. Great BBQ. 2nd best in town after Kilroy's. There is no place to sit in the restaurant so you have to take your food elsewhere. It's located in the hood.

If you're in search of great Indianapolis BBQ, I can't think of a better place. than King Ribs, as long as you can live with its drive-thru only situation. Last weekend, I picked up a half slab of ribs and a pound of pork BBQ. For less than $24 we had six sizeable meals out of it. The ribs were meaty and tender, practically falling off the bone. We got the "mixed' hot and regular sauce and while it was a tad sweet for me, it was just about as spicy as it needed to be. The BBQ pork shoulder was excellent as well. Plus they give you buns and bread so it's a complete dinner. I pass this place often, and have been here before, but frankly I just forgot how great it is. I'll be back with frequency.

The 3 star is probably more due to the fact that the lady that helped us was really friendly. The wife and I went out here last weekend because we were craving bbq. I gotta admit, as we rolled up to this place, I wasn't quite sure what to think. This place is attached to a car wash, and it's all take out. You can either place your order at the walk up window, or drive through. It looked pretty sketchy, but hey, sometimes those are the places that have the best food. Food- My wife got the rib dinner, and I got the rib tips dinner. The ribs weren't the most tender (didn't fall off the bone or anything), but they were decent. My rib tips also were not that tender, but decent. With each of our dinners, we got two sides. I got mac and cheese and beans, and my wife got mac n cheese with potato salad. Sides were good not great. And they also give you two slices of white bread Value- each of our meals was just a little under $10. They give you LOTS of food with each meal. Overall- a bit far for us to get to, especially for what it is. The search continues. Chuck Norris rating- still rolling eyes

Would give it 4 stars if the prices were not so high. I mean near 5 bucks for a under average size pulled pork . Very good though, the "hot " BBQ sauce is very good.

We ordered take out and it was packed very nicely. The barbecue chicken is perfect, ribs slightly boney but very good. The sauce, we got mixed, mild and hot, absolutely delicious. Mac and cheese very good, greens, cole slaw and corn bread were good. I have no complaints and would go again and again anytime I am in Indy. This place deserves every great review it gets!

When I broke my leg skiing my parents dropped by my apartment to see how I was doing. On their way to my place, they called me and asked if I wanted anything to eat. What I wanted was comfort food. What I wanted was something warm and spicy that would make me forget that I was going to have to hobble around on crutches on Indiana black ice for the next 3 months. What I wanted was King Rib. My parents delivered (thanks Mom and Dad.) King Rib is the best rib place in Indy. The business operates out of what looks like a converted car wash in a slightly sketchy part of town just past Fall Creek on Keystone. In the summer they have rows of smokers roasting meats. In the winter their business slows down and they move a lot of their operation indoors. Still, it's the best take out BBQ in Indianapolis. Really good cornbread too.
