Small town diner food, all the breakfast staples you expect. You'll get a lot for your $. Excellent fried potatoes & delicious fluffy pancakes. Omelets, chicken & waffles, Eggs Benedict are about as fancy as it gets here. Lunch sandwiches like sliced roast beef, ham, turkey served with pickle & chips. Burgers, fries, onion rings. Same faces I've seen for years cooking & serving up food, like old friends. Good place to bring a crowd or family visiting from out of town, but fills up quickly as the morning progresses. Lots of regulars greeted by name as they filter in. Notice the long table right by the front door; that's usually where they sit. Plenty of parking, & in the morning there always seems to be at least one cool old car like an El Camino or a Vega.

Great little hole in the wall diner. I have driven by it so many times and always wanted to check it out. Finally went for breakfast and it was delicious. Tons of food, and quite a variety. Good service and good food. Will definitely be back!

Craving a home-style breakfast like your grandma uses to make? Stop by The Keystone Deli! Tucked away in a strip mall just N of 52nd on Keystone, all you need is one visit to be convinced that this is where it's at. While the atmosphere isn't fancy, I cant say I've ever had anything less than delicious here. Today I opted for the BLT with a side of home fried potatoes. The girls got pancakes; Z opted for the fried apples, while the former vegetarian went 3 deep with 'Momma's Pancakes'; which comes with 4 strips of bacon & a couple of scrambled eggs. Sis got the 'Uncle Leroy'; 2 eggs, biscuits & gravy, grits & home potatoes. There wasn't much left on our plates, nor was there much conversation once the food quickly arrived. We did, however, see several people we knew, also raving about their meals. Business hours are limited, but are perfect for that weekend brunch. This is one place to bring a visiting friend or family member for a meal to remember!

My parents took me to this place every Sunday growing up. I still frequent it, as well as my parents do every weekend. My parents don't even have to order, the waitresses see them come in and start cooking their food immediately. The waitresses are awesome, some have been there for at least 10 years. I would describe their food as "slutty." The food is filling, salty, buttery, greasy, etc. Everything you need to cure a hangover, or just get a good solid meal. The biscuits are amazing, the omelets are huge, French toast is on point, and they have amazing combination breakfasts for a good price. I ordered a bacon and cheese omelette once and it had at least 3 full strips of bacon in it. One thing I love about this place is that they have half orders. You can order half of a French toast and get two or three pieces, or half of a biscuits and gravy with two biscuits. I have been eating their grilled cheese since I was 8 or 10 and it has never changed. Best grilled cheese, they must sprinkle crack on it because I would eat a hundred of them. This place definitely isn't for pretentious Patachou goers. Ingredients such as sprouts, goat cheese, nitrite free meats, organic spinach, etc, are unheard of. Lastly, you will smell like onions and grease after eating here so don't have on going to a business meeting or date afterwards.

Little more than a month later from my review saying not much has changed...well that is no longer the case. The have generic jellies and the bacon has changed. Gone is the thick cut bacon and now they serve thin substandard bacon. Disappointing change of events for this greasy spoon. We will continue to go there just not as often as in the past. Bring back the Smuckers and the thick bacon!!! The generic jelly and the thin bacon have cost you 2 stars!...but you can get them back super easy!!!

I've only eaten breakfast here but it is the best hole in the wall diner in the Nap. What I enjoy most (beyond the outstanding breakfast specials that come out on three plates) is the diversity. It is the only place in Indy I know of where black and white, old and young, gay and straight are all in one place eating together. My favorite is the smokehouse breakfast featuring eggs over easy, potatoes (order crispy), bacon, and biscuits in gravy. Good coffee and friendly service - anyplace where they call you Hon is worth a stop.

Dump! Waitresses will add tip to carry out meals. Waitresses smoke then don't wash their hands. Filthy place. This used to be a decent place to get a huge and good breakfast but it has lost its way.

A great little hole in the wall diner. It's not really a deli. It's more of a greasy spoon diner. I've only ever been here for breakfast. You get a LOT of food, no matter what you order, it seems. The potatoes are a bit bland, but they are plentiful, and, you know... potatoes. The coffee is great, and it keeps coming. The servers have always been nice when I've stopped in here. I'm comfortable coming in here and eating by myself and watching people or reading. When you walk in, you seat yourself. You might feel a bit akward if you just stand against the wall. The place is decorated in kind of country kitchen style.

Can'r really offer more than whats been already said. Food is cheap and very good. A must for those seeking traditional diner breakfast done right. Things of note: 1. Seat yourself 2. Kids get a lot of of silver dollar pancakes for $2 3. Kids drinks are not very handy. if your open cup challenged, bring your own. 4. Lots more parking then seats inside.

Ok, seriously, why have you not gotten off your behind and gone here already??? The Keystone Deli (just called "DELI" on the building itself outside) is my favorite hole-in-the-wall, greasy spoon type of place to go. Period. My only complaint is that they are only open until 2pm seven days a week. So if you want some awesomeness, you have to come early. The staff is helpful, referring to everyone as "hun," regardless of age or gender and they do an awesome job at everything from refilling drinks to making suggestions about the menu. Everything (yes, everything) is made from scratch. I was informed last time that their head server just retired after 28 some odd years. Who knew this had been here this long? Every time I go I order a "Sampler." Don't let the name fool you, there is no sliver of ham and two potato chunks here. You get three (yes three!!) huge plates of food. You get 3 pancakes, grits (or oatmeal), fried apples, ham, sausage (or bacon), 2 eggs and hash browns (or country potatoes) all for a mind-blowing price of $8.99. Are you kidding me?! They also offer cafeteria style offerings that rage (depending on the day) from fried catfish, greens, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, liver and onions, green beans, etc. In short, you need to come here, now. Don't expect the silverware to match, the decor to be award winning or the food anything but simple, home cooked comfort food. A real winner in my book!

Filled with degenerate people and heathen screaming kids that parents refuse to control, and staff that won't do anything about. This used to be a good place to eat, but has gone downhill the past 10 years. The food is tastless swill. I had better food in boot camp.... Stay away from!!!!!

I've been in Indy for almost two months now and after the variety of food found in Chicago, my last location and NYC, my hometown, I'm a bit of a dining snob. I don't hesitate to send things back, complain about incompetent staff or leave an establishment if it's not up to par. On the flip side I'm one of the first to praise wait-staff to management and ask to be sated in a specific server's section so it's clear that they're exceptional. I truly believe that eating out is a luxury and if I'm paying for food it should be exactly how I want it. I also believe that wait staff earns the tip. While I do automatically calculate a minimum of 15% for adequate service, if the service is sub par it can and does go down from there. All of that being said, the Deli is one of the best down home eateries I have EVER patronized. The service both times I've gone has been way above par, the servers obviously knew what they were doing, didn't balk at special requests and were attentive without being obsequious. This last time there was a family of nine in just before we arrived, as a result one of the two waitresses was understandably occupied and the kitchen was dealing with special requests out the wazoo. Our waitress checked on us multiple times to assure us our order was in, provided us with the things she could provide us with and made sure we were comfortable waiting. She kept us apprised of the situation and made the wait of little to know consequence as a result. THAT'S excellent table-side service. The food as has been previously mentioned is soooo good. Both times we've ordered the Country boy Special Double meat which is either a NY Strip Steak or 2 pork chops with all the fixins and when they say all they mean ALL. Grits, biscuits and gravy, hash browns and fried apples, plus two eggs cooked how you like them. All for under $10 and with portions so sizable one order covers three plates. I ate myself silly and still had enough left to bring home to my brother and he didn't realize it wasn't a full order. The Deli has topped my list of comfortable, beyond reasonably priced dining establishments and is definitely a place to take the fam when the come to visit.

Stopped in for breakfast and must say I was surprised. When you go to a dive like this you are going for the food and service. Both of which are great at this restaurant. When you walk in it looks a bit like a cafeteria. They do have table service, but it appears you can go up to the counter and order take out. Don't expect fancy or even updated when you enter this place, and I am not sure why it is called Deli.... But the food was great and the price was even better. I ordered eggs with a side of biscuits and gravy and grits, I also added a pancake for good measure. The grits were a bit lumpy but everything else was perfect. The pancake was about the best one I have had. My friend ordered french toast and potato's, she was in heaven with the toast! The potato's were cooked old school style, sliced and fried with onions. (this brought back memories of the old electric skillet my dad used to make food in when I was growing up.) I love when I go to a place and a good childhood memory is dug up. The coffee was pretty good, parking is all over and easy. I really look forward to going back very soon for some another memorable breakfast!

It's been awhile since I'd been to Keystone Deli, and I'm wondering when they revamped their menu. It is more expensive and the food was not good. Our bill for breakfast for my wife, two small children and me was $33 not including the tip! The pancakes where good, but my Tex Mex scramble and my wife's omelet where small and had little ingredients. This is not what I remember from previous visits. There are a few other good breakfast places in the area that offer better ingredients for same or lower prices than the Keystone Deli. We will not be going back there, ever.

This place rocks my world. I'd never have known it was in this dingy little strip mall if not for a friend who recommended it. If you want glorious, high fat, dripping in butter, smothered in sausage gravy, deep fried delicious breakfast - this is the place to go. I typically order the sampler plate or the chicken fried steak. You get a mountain of food for $7.99. It's usually enough for 2 meals for me. Even the bottomless pit, aka my husband, had a tough time finishing what was on the plate. When the place gets busy, you can wait a long time for a server to even bring you a water. I'd expect at least some recognition from the server who walked by my table 8 times before taking my drink order and bringing me a menu. Even saying "I'll be with you in a minute" would have appeased me. The servers were super friendly tho, I will give them that.

More commonly referred to as 'The Deli,' this place sits humbly in the retail center at 53rd and Keystone, with one word on the front sign: "DELI." The Deli is a classic, blue collar breakfast and lunch diner, open 7 days a week from about 6am to 2pm. They serve great breakfast, one of the best greasy-spoon breakfasts in town, and the service is as good as you'll ever find. During the week, it's not very busy for breakfast, and if you show up mid morning, your food will be out quicker than you would ever imagine. It's made right there in the main room behind a cafeteria-style counter. The staff has been working there for years, and really are the sweetest and most hospitable server staff around. No longer a smoking establishment, which for many years was a trademark, the Deli also serves a good lunch, if you like the old school, midwester diet, with items such as liver, meatloaf, and beef manhattans. Their mac and cheese is awesome, so if you go for lunch, get it. On weekends, this place gets very crowded, especially between 11am and 2pm, as hungover Broad Ripple-ites flock to the spot to soak up remnants of booze with biscuits, gravy and pancakes.

Omg is this good grease. Do not judge a book by its cover there is some serious grub goin down at the Deli. This is what Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel wish they were but can't quite get there, not with all the down home farm tchotchkes in the world. Their short order and fry cooks put out crispy bacon, perfect browned potatoes, custom omelets, fried chicken, you name it-- always right everytime. fast, consistent, fresh. Service is the swift "what will you be havin today, hon" kind-- coffee and water is always refilled before you see the bottom of the cup. my favorite on the menu is Momma's Pancake bkft-- 3 amazing pancakes with warm syrup, eggs, choice of sausage or bacon for a little over $7 bucks. so good. i see a lot of people get the biscuits and gravy and french toast. For lunch they offer all the deli standard sandwiches and meat and 2 sides type fare-- country fried steak, meatloaf, etc. Try their salmon cakes and fried cabbage. Mix of customers, during the workweek hip professionals in line behind blue collar workers in the know, weekends more of the young and hung over side by side with the after-church crowd. My only beef--- only one-- is their coffee could be darker/stronger. And the jam/preserves could be out of a jar and not those little plastic food service thingys. but who wants to bother with boring ol toast when you could have french toast, anyway! What more can i say, really nice people, really tastey no-frills food. Bring a paper or bring a friend, have a seat, order up. FoodNetwork producers, are y'all reading this???

We found this place via Yelp while visiting Indianapolis this past Memorial Day Weekend (We were ther for the Indy 500). The Deli was a very pleasant surprise. The food was great, coffee terrific and the wait staff friendly and pleasant. I marked it into my GPS for future visits to the Indy 500.. Great place, great food. See ya next year........

Stopped in for Breakfast 4th of July weekend and it was packed and after finishing our meal I know why. Yes it looks like a very basic every day diner but the food is great, the amounts are incredible and the staff is wonderful. Both my sister and Father took portions of thier meal home and well I could barley move. The quality was not only huge but wonderful. Fresh made biscuits made the BG wonderful. The meat choices were nice and well cooked. The menu isn't huge but offers plenty of meal choices. They only do breakfast and lunch. It's in a strip center off of Keystone, it only says Deli above it. Take the time to stop by and support this wonderful family owned place in Indy.

This place is great for food and price, not so much on atmosphere but if that's not a problem for you, be prepared to be well fed.
